And old woman greets you outside: "Welcome! Are you planning on staying?"
  "Why, yes I am!"
  "No, ma'am, just visiting."
"I'm actually here for the stables. Can you point me in that direction?"
"I heard you had some jobs available. Do you happen to be the woman I talk to about that?"

Quinona didn't stick around for any sort of introductions, instead shoveling her way past the massive armored man and heading out to where Constable was jadedly nibbling on some grass. She untied his reigns with a quick, "I'm back," and led him around the back of the house to a small meadow, where she retrieved her saddlebags. She hoisted them over her shoulder -- she was quite strong, after all -- and sauntered back into the Inn, letting them fall to the ground with a loud thud. She didn't say anything, only raising her eyebrows at the causal banter going on between the three that she'd left behind a moment ago. From what she could gather, the little one was named Chase, and the big one was... well, still a mystery. A mystery that she intended to solve.

Among other things, what she'd retrieved from her saddlebag was a bag containing her worldly possessions (not much in the form of clothing and some money) and two other holsters -- one of which contained her archery equipment, and the other which contained a large, wrapped package that was almost as tall as Quinona herself. It was wrapped in large, leather-like parchment and tied with string. Saying nothing pertaining to these objects, she simply leaned them against the wall and watched with starry eyes as Danny produced a large vat that he identified as something drinkable. She smirked, crossing her arms again.

"Let me guess... Firebreath?" she asked, referring to the name of the famous alcohol from Faranth Errol she'd only tried once. It stung her a little but once she'd gotten used to it, she'd managed to down almost an entire pint before she'd gotten into a fistfight (and kicked out). She snickered. "Don't mind if I do, Danny-boy. When do we get started?" Obviously she was making a joke, although she wouldn't have minded starting right away. She noticed the big guy getting a little hot under the collar at the appearance of the alcohol and she suppressed a laugh, though maybe it would have been the perfect thing to rile the big guy up. She noticed the little one looking away, but not quick enough to hide her eyes lighting up. What's her problem? Quinn thought, not really interested as long as she wouldn't have some freaky s**t happening to her.

Danny smiled a bit at Bahamut's comment, "Both sound pretty nice." He replied to the long haired man with a light grin and smiled lightly at Chase. "Well Miss Chase, this is how I am as a person, and I would be most uncomfortable otherwise." He replied to her in a polite tone of voice with a kind smile. "But, I will make attempts not to add the 'Miss' in any future attempts with speaking with you. And, I wouldn't really call myself a traveller.. I don't travel enough to be called that." He added with a light chuckle as he seemed to notice something with how she reacted to her eye. He couldn't help but grin a bit at her guess of what the alcohol was that he had brought with him, "Hehe, nice guess, but it's not Firebreath. This is the rare stuff, the one where you can only see 4 barrels of per year, this is Dragonfire." Danny said with a proud smile like it was an achievement to get it, in a sense even for him as the king, he was lucky to even get at least one barrel per year. This was even higher quality than even Firebreath. "And I don't mind sometime soon, but I think it's still a bit early for drinking though, so maybe later on?" He said with a teasing smile as he made the barrel disappear with magic, of course the liquid inside was safe.

Bahamut smirked at the vanishing act, tapping the chestplate of his armor with his index finger. His gauntlets were equally sharp, appearing as talons, but he wasn't going to wear the armor for very much longer. "The dress here appears casual, so I assume this should suffice." Chase looked back to Bahamut, but he looked entirely different when he wasn't wearing any armor. He was still astoundingly tall, and unlike most who discarded their armor, he wasn't stoo skinny either. Bahamut was at the physical peak of fitness, obviously taking great pride in his strength as both a man and a monster.

"Those clothes aren't even yours." Chase remarked, shaking her head before returning her attention to Danny. "...Call me whatever. Just remember my face." That was impossible to do. Chase's face was always obscured, save for her unique eyes. When she heard their talks of drink, she decided it wasn't for her. She couldn't handle very potent brews at all, and for some reason, it just wouldn't agree with her...she was kind of like Muramasa's son in that way. "I see...unfortunately, I have no business with you Danny. Although, I can see there's something odd about you..." The gift of the future..it made sure Chase was never wrong, but it wasn't always clear.

She shrugged, deciding to let it go and go her own way until the owner of the establishment found the time to speak to her...she wasn't here to socialize. She looked at her leg and saw the wound had already healed...Bahamut worried about her diluted blood too much. Bahamut walked on without her, not needing to set his armaments anywhere since they were a part of his body. While he couldn't get rid of his armor, he could hide it well. "Worry not about your stranger, Adrasa. I believe he's as odd as he seems. That means he's, for the most part, harmless."

(I don't think I have enough energy to read all of this in between stuff. Sorry.)

Amos was overtaken by his sense of duty. He needed to get away from the inn a fast as possible. He ignored all that came his way and even moved past the ones who approached him. The merc simply headed straight for the stables where he found the horses Mabel was talking about. He looked on as he saw the plethora of noble beasts. The entire stable was completely quiet as he walked past each of the equine creatures. It was until the old man found the old and worn looking nag sitting in here stable. She had a shy and gentle look in her eyes, but even more so as she was in the presence of the mystical rod of Heaven's stable boy. "Don't worry girl. I'm not him. You don't have to fear me." Amos said reaching out to pet the horse's nose. "Ok. I just need you to help me with something. You won't have to do much. Just take me to a location out on the edge."

Amos opened the the lock to the old nag's stall and lead her out. The old mare obediently followed alongside the merc. He began shackling her up with light fixings. A saddle, a shovel, and strangest of all was a bucket of water. "Sorry girl, this isn't going to be for you." The white haired hunter then lead the mare out of the stable road her out to a place far from the Inn. It was time to get to work.

Danny smirked a bit when he saw Bahamut changed into a more casual look, but even without his armor, he definitely looked rather tough with his peak physical fitness. The king as well had a body that could easily be said to be physically toned, thin but not too skinny as well. It was also a fact that despite how weird his clothing sense was, it fit him astoundingly well, like it would be weird to see him without the cape and floating halo-like crown. He smiled lightly when Chase stated that he could call her whatever he wanted and that she had no further business with him though she called him odd. "Hehe, I get that a lot~." He stated with a grin and looked to the owner of the inn. "Miss, I'll just have any one person room please, I have to go now, so I'll come back and receive the key later on, so I will pay now~." He stated in his polite tone as he reached into his pocket and pulled out two 24 karat gold 1 ounce bars and gave them to Mabel. "I will be back later~!" He stated with a smile as he walked out of the inn and away from it for the time being despite giving gold that easily amounted to $2,600.

Mabel had watched the newcomers converse with great interest, one arthritic finger scratching the inside of her large nose all the while. When Danny revealed that he had a barrel of Dragonfire in his possession, she decided to try and keep her granddaughter out of the house. Maker knows that girl is always getting into trouble and fights when alcohol was involved. She continued listening and started in surprise when Danny placed two hefty gold bars into her hands and asked for a room. All she could do was nod, her eyes wide and her wrinkled face in disbelief. She went into a sneezing fit when she realize who's seal was stamped into the bars.

"Well, then! Anywho, what can I do for you two?" The last comment was directed at the pair of mysterious--people?--as she tucked the bars away into a magic safe below the counter. She began writing the man's name into the ledger as she awaited a response.

Chase's eyes opened wide when she noticed she was being addressed. She looked in Mabel's direction, only her eyes being visible upon that action given that she kept her mouth covered by a scarf, and the rest of her covered by a cloak. Bits of blue hair stuck out from here and there, shaded purple in some places, and her blue and yellow cat-like eyes seemed to light up upon her speaking. "Not here looking for help, I'm afraid. I was actually hoping that I could help you." Chase responded with a bow, grabbing both sides of her cloak and holding them out to the side as she curtsied. She was a tomboy at heart, but she knew how to behave herself sometimes.

"My name is...Liah Xes Adrasa, High Deliverer and princess of my lineage. Although...I would prefer if you just called me Chase." The girl spoke in a soft voice, seemingly lacking emotion, whereas Bahamut only watched from a distance. "Me my and group are more of a mercenary force, so whenever we stop at a new town we're not afraid of doing hard work. I came here to see if there was anything I might do for the people here. Bahamut suggested it." Chase said with a nod, motioning over to the man with black hair she spoke of. Bahamut didn't smile, but he seemed utterly pleased with himself.

"I just hired the young white haired woman, the feisty one, but I'm always looking for new help! As a matter of fact, I was thinking about hosting horse races for all of Janhall. But the track happens to be a little--well let's just say it's not in peak working condition!" Mabel scratched her head guiltily; usually a family of brownies took care of it, but a recent guest made them some clothes and they turned into little hobgoblins. "If you can work on that, I'll give both of you a room on the top floor as well as breakfast and dinner, maybe lunch," the old woman explained with a lot of hand gesturing.

Feisty? Chase didn't like the sound of that. Her personality was an obvious contrast to those who had more fire than she did...in fact, she worked very hard to keep her emotions at a minimum most of the time. Hopefully nothing happened, since Chase wasn't here to make enemies. Chase shrugged at Bahamut and enveloped herself in shadows, her eyes briefly turning red as her previous suit melted away. When the shadows left Chase's body, she had a much more natural outfit, and her cloak was gone in conjunction with the rest of her first suit, but she still wore the long, trailing scarf. She also wore a black skirt with biker shorts underneath and a sweatshirt just for this occasion.

Chase covered where her mouth was underneath the scarf by using the sleeves of her shirt, but the sleeves were naturally very big anyway...completely eclipsing Chase's hands as if she were a small child. Chase opened her large black wings and gave them a few practices swings just so she'd be set to fly. "I can do that much, Ma'am." Chase responded with a sure nod that belayed the emotionless tone she took when speaking. Chase, ultimately, just wanted to be helpful while their ship broken down, so she wasn't against any kind of work, no matter what form in came in. "I don't require payment. I don't want to be a burden when I'm trying to be of use." That annoying trait...the one where you accepted nothing offered followed Chase all the way from her home. She didn't want to make somebody else work on her regard when she was royalty, and certainly not when she was just a normal person to them.

Chase rubbed her right arm with her left hand and looked away from Mabel, blushing underneath her scarf, but looking stoic otherwise. "I do have one request, however. I can see in the dark, but I'm afraid when it's night-time. S-so...d-do you have a...a n--" Chase cut herself off from saying night light since she, more than likely, wasn't going to need it. It wasn't that she was afraid of just the dark since she could see just fine, but when she was a child she developed a fear of ghosts and the dark at the same time when she ventured out alone, so she preferred it when things were a bit lighter for her. "Nevermind, it was a stupid question...I'll get started right away."

Was this really it? Was this where Amos was doomed to fall? Out in the middle of nowhere by the hands of the very being he had fought? The supernatural hunting mercenary felt doom and despair swallowing him whole as he reach the last bullet in his gun's magazine. And that was when it happened. The sweaty and tired merc was given a silver lining to grab hold of. The mass of undead beings dropped like reverted back to being dead. Amos looked around in an alert panic. Adrenaline was still pumping into his system. Was this a trap? He didn't have a whole of time to figure out if it was. The merc put his fingers to his mouth and whistled loudly for the horse he brought. He waited in cold silence to hear the sound of galloping before moving on his own. Nothing came. The horse must have been scared off. Already, Amos was thinking of what to say to the old woman as he trudged back to Mabel's stable. It must have been well past midnight when he returned to the stables. The merc was exhausted. So exhausted that fell onto a bale of hay and fell asleep right in the stables.

The sun was barely cresting over the ridge of the mountains when Katrina found him. At least, she believe it was Amos. It was strange, she thought to herself as she moved deeper into the stables, that he was even alive is a miracle. She had found the mass of dead bodies, ripped from their resting places and left to continue their decomposition in the woods. Stumbling across the piles of rotting flesh and charred bones had not been what she expected, despite the attack in the hospital. However, witnessing the aftermath of whatever battle that had taken place alerted her to the true evil their town faced. Whoever had caused this was no amatuer necromancer. After calling townhall and Janhall's police force, Katrina moved on past the scene. It had taken an enormous amount of effort, but she withheld from vomiting for over an hour, until she was certain nobody would hear or see her. Then, she was glad for the woods and what it was able to hide.

Still, she had managed to locate Amos, his wounds looking far worse than they had when she first encountered him in the hospital. It had been difficult, as tired and drawn as she was, to continue probing for his mind. She had only read his thoughts on one occasion, so trying to remember how his mind sounded was a challenge, especially since he had been unconcious for so long. Kneeling beside the bale of hay he was laying on, Katrina slowly placed one hand on his forehead, doing her best not to startle him awake. She wasn't sure if she could handle a punch from him if he was caught unawares. Of course, with the shape he was in, she'd prefer to see him awake right now. Who knows what sort of internal damage was done to him? So she got to work, trying to asses his injuries from the subconscious of his mind. It was going to be tough work, and she was still ill from the sight of Lily's destruction.

Amos remained out cold even as the morning sun poked through the barn stable. His body was in more control than his mind. He couldn't remember the last time he fought for his life in such a way. He had spent a lot of recent time fighting mortals. The supernatural was like running a mile in old shoes he had to get used to again.

Even as the supernatural mercenary slept, his mind buzzed with unconscious thoughts. Lilly, zombies, the end of all life on earth. Cold sweat beading down from under his aging hair as the anxiety of his dreams consumed him. The old man's subconscious was like a dog remembering orders; Protect the staff, save Katrina, stop Lilly from wiping out humanity.

Soon enough, Amos woke up with gasp, instantly reacting to the hand on his head. However, after seeing the familiar and friendly face, the old merc calmed down, but only a little. Amos was still very tense. "Well, I'm glad to see you."

There was such a buzz of thoughts coming from Amos, and although he was unable to control it, Kat could tap into what he was 'seeing.' She was certain that there would be a headache later for it, but at the moment it was worth gathering more information. Only a handful of moments passed after she had placed her hand on his forehead to when he opened his eyes. Upon his regain of consciousness, the flood of thoughts grew stronger, and she was surprised by the amount of effort it took her to shove them all back. He was just one person, this ability of her's to block out his mind should have been effortless. Kat was suddenly aware of how tired she really was, but despite the growing ache she felt in her head, she was able to ignore most of his thoughts with a great deal of concentration.

It was a second before she could focus on what she felt, which was the relief that Amos had woken up. Though now that it was clear he wasn't comatose, she wished nothing more than for him to get more sleep. It didn't matter that she rarely worked in the hospital because of her council duties, she would always be a caretaker and sleep would do him good. His words earned a half smile as she lowered her arm back to her side; now she knew he could still talk, so it seems that he was as good a fighter as he claimed. "I think you're lucky to see me. Literally. I'm glad those...things...didn't take your eyesight."

She sighed, her gaze moving from him to inspect the stable surrounding them. It was clear that he was still very tense, and who could blame him? From the snippets of thoughts she had seen clearly, last night had withessed a hell of a battle. And that fight had only been the beginning. "Did you want to rest here awhile longer?" She asked, not wanting him to walk when there was much healing to be done. "One of our diplomats is a siren. I'm sure she could sing for you and speed up recovery." It would be a large favor to ask of a princess, but Kat had no intention of putting Amos back into the hospital where this woman...was her name Lily?...would find him.

Amos smiled wryly and laughed at Kat's concern for him, even though he probably shouldn't have. "It's fine. Just mindless zombies. They aren't the greatest fighters. The only reason I look so bad is because I was mobbed by them." In actuality, the undead that the white haired male had faced last night, were stronger. They felt somewhat organized. It must have been the power of Lily's necromancing abilities. Grimacing at the thought, Amos wagered he would need better equipment for when he would have to deal with her again.

Even though Amos had literally just been through a hellish night, he was still a man and men were known for being two kinds of strong. Strong willed, and headstrong. "I'll be fine." The old mercenary said, gently brushing off the genie's care. He reached into his coat for a familiar silver object. The flask. Without looking at it, Amos opened the little metal vial and tried to drink from it, only to be sorely disappointed. After a quick inspection, Amos noticed a hole the bottom of flask. "Oh that's just perfect!" Amos growled throwing the metal bottle away. It was useless now. Looking next to him was Kat. Still sitting there patiently. It was like she knew he was going have to come with her. "Alright. Fine." He said like a father conceding to his children's pleas for a new toy. "I'll come with you. I actually have some things to tell you. Things you need to know."

Based on what she had seen in her vision, Katrina wasn't so easily convinced that Amos appeared so battered simply because he was out numbered. It was obvious enough that the zombies resurrected by Lily were different, organized and stronger than something dead should ever be. Still, Kat didn't respond right away, her brow furrowing at his very ridiculous statement of "i'm fine." She was half way through forming an argument when he withdrew a familiar looking flask. That would do, she supposed; she had seen it work wonders the last time Amos was hurt. However, once he tried to drink from the container, it became clear very quickly that the liquid had been lost during the fight. She felt bad, well aware that the flask had held an extremely valuable elixer, but she also knew that Amos had no choice but to concede to her previous offer.

Once he did, she nodded, her expression still politely amused. She stood slowly, still not back at top notch herself but recovering quickly. Her headach seemed fo finally be fading, probably because the main source of her stress for the entire morning was taken care of. Amos was alive and she knew that the siren diplomat would care for him well. "I knew you'd give in to the idea of a beautiful princess doting over you," said Kat with a smile, offering her hand to the mercenary. After a moment, she spoke again, curiousity plain in her voice. "What things?" They would have to walk and talk. These stables weren't too far from the town, but she was eager to beat the sun's heat.
