Name of Soquili: Kitchi Honon (Meaning ~ Brave Bear)
Temper: Honorable

The Story:
Quote:

Kitchi Honon was a member of a mighty herd of soquili who inhabited the mountains above the Kawani village. Kaya, his mother, had led their herd for many years and developed a reputation for being both fair and compassionate. When disaster struck the Kawani plains and thick smoke filled the sky, threatening to blot out the sun, Kaya knew she could not stand by idly while so many suffered. She gathered her bravest warriors and strongest workers and set off down the mountain to help fight back the fires and later aide the victims in rebuilding. She asked Kitchi to remain with the main herd, promising that she would only be gone a few weeks and that she would send news of their progress once things had calmed. But weeks passed without a word from his mother and while Kitchi and his herd watched the dancing fires that scorched the plains give way to a dull gray landscape stretching out below them, he could not help but worry about his mother. As weeks turned into months, things began to change in the mountain herd. The adults began to question what happened to their leader and the others, if they had made the trip safely, and more importantly if they were even coming back? It was during this time that Taini, Kitchi’s aunt and Kaya’s younger sister, stepped forward and began organizing the herd in her sister’s absence. For a brief time Kitchi was impressed by Taini’s efforts to unite the herd and ease their fears. But then Taini began forbidding the herd to travel down the mountain and declaring that Kaya had abandoned them. She fed the herd’s paranoia and built up their fears of outsiders, warning them all that the lands of the plains had become a dangerous place full of bandits and marauders. She said that they had been betrayed by the very souls the mountain herd had tried to help and that Kaya had at best abandoned them, at worst betrayed them. When Taini ordered the mountain trails barricaded Kitchi knew he had to act quickly. The stallion had never aspired to be leader himself and feared that any attempts of his own to take control of the herd and bring them back to the path of his mother would only divide them which could be deadly in the harsh mountain environment. So he did the only thing he could think of to both preserve the herd he loved and remain true to his own heart. He ran away.

When darkness blanketed the mountain, Kitchi gathered the few precious possessions he could not bear to leave behind. First was the necklace his mother presented to him when he became an adult of the herd. It was his most cherished possession and represented their homeland with blue beads for the sky that surrounded them, white marked with brown – the snow dappled tops of their home, and in the very center a large stone pendant with an angled spiral. The symbol represented the path of life, how it was ongoing but you might just hit an unexpected twist. The last few weeks had certainly been unexpected and they managed to twist him all up in knots. He also grabbed his armband. It might not be especially helpful on his journey, but the bear claws that lined its base were a mark of his strength as a warrior along with the teeth that adorned his necklace. Protecting the herd had been his primary responsibility and these items embodied his spirit, that of a brave bear. Though it went against his very soul to abandon his people, he knew he would only cause them pain if he remained. He could never tolerate such slander against his mother nor could he carry on without knowing what had happened to her and their other herdmates. He packed light to ensure that nothing would slow him down on his journey, his heart would bear more than enough weight for him.

As Kitchi eased his way down the mountain he told himself this wasn’t the end. The lie rang hollow even within his own mind, but he pressed on, his hoofs finding familiar footholds along the path. He could easily maneuver around the beginnings of the blockades and as he made his way down the mountain he spared a single look back at what had always been his home. He would miss the brisk breeze that came from the great heights and the crisp, cool water that flowed from the springs. But this expedition was an opportunity – a chance at a life he never could have known before. Thus Kitchi vowed to make his journey worthwhile. He would offer aid to those in need, lend his strength and his skill to defend those who could not defend themselves, and of course he would seek out his mother and discover what had become of the matron of the mountains. And maybe along the way, he could find a way to be happy again with this new chance at life in a new and uncertain land.

Name of Soquili: Dáire Ó Damhán
Temper: Difficult

The Story:
Quote:
A wind blew through what remained of the prairie grasses. Clouds scudded overhead peacefully, giving no sign of the storm that had passed through the area a short time before. Let alone the horrible fire that had followed. Beside a river running low in its banks, and a powerfully-built young colt was glaring at a shriveled sapling. He flattened his Cerynei ears and twitched his short, fluffy tail in irritation.

Dáire was having a bad day. Bad enough that his pure wood 'Suti uncle had left him here for a bit while he helped the local village of two-leggers recover from the fire, but Uncle Eoghan didn't take his orphaned half-'Suti nephew seriously. Always teasing.

"Try out your powers, he says. Well, I'll show him," Dáire growled. He tensed up and squeezed his eyes shut, willing the sapling to grow. Grunting in concentration, he tried to make it happen. After all, for Uncle Eoghan, it was so easy. Peeking one eye open, Dáire snuck a look at the sapling. Nothing. He tried again, trying to remember what Uncle Eoghan said about making things grow better.

"Empty your mind, and fill it with the image of a seedling. Watch it grow. As it grows, feed it your other thoughts. Plants need light and sun to grow, and the plant in your mind needs nutrients, too. Concentrate on that plant and making it grow as big and strong as possible."

It took about five or six tries to get the image right and the plant to grow right. It was so hard! He heard insects in the air. Then, his ear itched. His soft, turquoise mane flopped down over his eyes again. He thought he smelled some fresh grass shoots nearby. No. Concentrate. Dáire continued squeezing his eyes shut, trying to focus, trying to do what Uncle Eoghan said might be too hard for a crossbreed like Dáire.

Dáire didn't hear the hoofbeats behind him, but he did hear the proud sigh. "You did it, Laddybuck. Open your eyes, and look in front o' ya," Uncle Eoghan said.

Dáire opened his pretty blue eyes. He blinked. And blinked again, just to be sure. The sapling hadn't really grown, but the ground in front of him was dotted with tiny shoots, where none had been before. Grass mixed with wildflowers. What might be the beginnings of reeds and willows. Dáire looked up at Uncle Eoghan. Eoghan grinned broadly. The colt grinned back. "And you said I couldn't do it. Looks like I got me ma's magic, anyway!"

Eoghan nodded. "It'll always take ya some practice and time, but ya got your ma's magic. And your da's pretty-boy looks," the older 'Suti teased.

"I do not!" Dáire shot back hotly.

"Time for us to go home, Laddybuck. It's getting dark, and I did what I came to do here for the day," his uncle said with a grin, reaching out his serpentine tail to hook the colt closer to him.

They were quiet as they walked home, thinking: Dáire excited about the magic, Eoghan thinking about how much his sister's son had grown since Eoghan had picked him up. The colt had been hiding in a crevice between a set of cliffs on a forested mountainside, frightened. But he didn't cry. It had taken Eoghan a while to persuade the young colt to come out, and he could tell why. Skinwalkers could do that to a foal, even if they didn't kill them. By the looks of it, the Skinwalker had been of a fairly large bear-type, hence why it couldn't readily chase down a small colt into the narrow crevice. Eoghan had taken his orphaned nephew with him, far away from the mutilated corpses of Eoghan's sister and her mate, and the boy had grown. He grinned down at Dáire, walking next to him, ears and tails swiveling in excitement.

Oh, yes, he'd grown. Reborn from the broken colt in the crevice, and ready to start using his powers to make a better, greener world.

Comments: His markings continue onto the scales, just in green tones, rather than browns. The collar thing on his neck is a torc; I can link to refs as necessary. Same for the antlers, which are based on the antlers of the bush antlered deer (though an Irish elk would be cool, too!). Aside from that...Happy St Patrick's Day. (And I forgot his cloven hooves, darn!)

Name of Soquili: Elchron
Temper: Lawful

The Story:
Quote:
Death is not the end.

Elchron wandered the land of Soquili. It was a land he thought was gone. Dead. But now it was teeming with new life. He was pleased.

Although the old unicorn was nearing his own end of days, he still took joy in all the foals and laughter around him. He couldn't stop time. Time was his master. It was everyone's master. Even the life inside of all the new baskets would be snuffed out eventually. There was no point in lamenting it. It was just the way it was. Elchron was not upset by the thought of death; his or anyone else's.

But for the time being, he took in the simple joys around him. He observed. He kept a keen eye on all the rebirth around him. Time would tell how they would turn out. Would these Soquili work towards bringing good to the world? Or would the darken it? It's their choice to make.

Eventually, time and death catch up with us all.

You can't stop it. All you can do not let the moments you have pass you by.

Comments: Elchron is based around the mythology surrounding the planet Saturn. Saturn is the harsh taskmaster that controls our lives as the minutes of the clock slowly click away. He gives us challenges, and punishes us if we fail.

There are lots of interesting things about the planet Saturn. The storm in it's north pole forms a perfect hexagon shape, and the storm in the south pole resembles an eye. Many ancient cultures believed Saturn to be always watching and judging them. And beyond Saturn was the afterlife. It is the furthest out planet you can see with your naked eye.

It is from Saturn that we get the ideas or The Grim Reaper and Father Time.

The thaw had come.

Sprigs of grass showed under the melting drifts of snow, and birds twittered in the trees. The winter had been long and it felt like her bones were frozen solid. She began to move, to bask in the warm sun.

With spring came rejuvenation. The past died, and the future was soley ahead. So much had happened since the winter had come. There had been death, but as always there was new life.

She could feel it within her. Rinascita let go of all that was holding her back. The ice dripped off her in rivulets. Spring was here and with it the chance to amend the past.

She would start with the fire.

The wings are my version of dragonfly wings.
The blue stuff is icicles dripping off in the spring.
Her tail is a kalona type tail with a actual spade shape at the end (like on cards).
Her mane is a mohawk.
The thing on her front leg is a wrap around cuff bracelet that ends in a star at the top.

She is representative of the thaw after the cold

Name of Soquili: Cassia of Annu
Temper: Radiant

The Story:
Quote:

From the ashes of our past…

Time was running out, thick clouds of ash blacked out the sun, while burning rocks fell from the sky, obliterating everything they touched. Screams filled the air, there was no hope, no chance to flee, there was no warning of the death that was now upon them and most of all there was nothing but despair.

For a group of Mares in the secret society of Annu, the fiery death was known and they had been preparing for this ominous day. They worked arduously to prepare the maiden mare to leave the burning land. Cassia of Annu was the last Keeper of the Flame, she was the priestess who was destined to leave a land razed and come out reborn like the Phoenix the Keepers hold dear.

Since her birth it was known that she would be the survivor and the one to carry the knowledge across the sea for she bore the mark of the Phoenix. Her mane was fiery and her tail comprised of feathers ranging in colors of the sacred flame. Her suti wings were black like the ash after a burned out fire and her eyes held the intense spark of knowledge.

Lessons ensued, each mare taught her all that she knew and passed on her story. The priestesses of Annu were known as the keepers of the flame. The flame was not an actual palpable entity, it was knowledge, a spark of hope, the cycle of the Phoenix, which showed that even with the world burning and turning to ash, there would be rebirth. Life comes from the darkest of hours, from the most desolate of places, it was a lesson that the maiden had to learn and understand. Years passed, and yet the end still had not arrived, many were wondering if the prophecy was wrong. It was when the Keepers began to hope for life that the volcano erupted, signifying the end of their world and the fulfillment of the prophecy.

The final hours were upon them, death was coming to those who did not flee. It was their fate to be turned to stone by the falling fiery ash of the volcano, forever encased in the cycle of the Phoenix.
Cassia had her head bowed in prayer when the shaking of the ground began. It was time to face her destiny, time to accept her responsibility, if only it did not come with such a price. The older priestesses came to her then; the ceremony was quick, for there was no time. They bestowed upon her the Sun Disc tied with a string to wear around her neck, it represented the fiery spirit of the Phoenix deity that was dear to the hearts of the Annu, upon her brow they placed the mask of the phoenix, to allow the world to know that Cassia was the only surviving Priestess of the Scared Flame and lastly a bracelet made of lava rock extracted from the same volcano destined to raze the Annu.

Without saying goodbye, she took to the sky, dodging rocks as they fell. Not once did she cast her gaze behind her. Her eyes were locked on the vast blue sea before her. Her heart was filled with sadness, but she knew that from death and destruction, rebirth takes form from the ashes and brings in the dawn of a new day.

…Comes the birth of our future.

Comments: She is a horned hippo-suti with phoenix feathering for her tail and has the suti leg spikes. Sorry for the horrible coloring job! And her name Cassia means “Cinnamon” which I think is perfect, since she is dark like the spice and Cinnamon can be spicy and hot, which she definitely is!

Name of Soquili: Nalini - Means 'lotus-plant or lovely' in Sanskrit.
Temper: Metamorphic

The Story:
Quote:

“ Would you call me a coward for choosing to remain ignorant when the alternative leads to pain and ruination. From my loss I gained everything -I will protect the identity I have crafted for myself. “
- Nalini of Mist Alpine herd

Nalini stared at the evening sky her forehead furrowed in thought. She could enjoy the beauty of the brightly twinkling stars but she still couldn’t recognize constellations. For a rare moment she mourned losing her past. If she still regained her memories later in her life would she than recognize the celestial figures that played among the stars. A part of her mourned her lack of knowledge. Different herds had different stories based on the constellations and while in time she could eventually learn new stories they would not be the ones she had grown up learning.

The herd Nalini was currently living with said she had an accident on their lands. Nalini’s back left leg still gave her some trouble but her head no longer ached from the fall. The Mist Alpine herd had saved her life and to them she was eternally grateful. They had cared for her given her a name and a place among them.

It had been half a year since they found her unconscious near a river bank. The ground around her had been disturbed and it seemed she had been in that state for several hours. With warm hearts they nursed her back to health and earned her gratitude forever.

However the Mist Alpine herd healer told her she was not healing as she should. By now her leg should be fully healed and her head injury was not severe enough to cause a permanent state of amnesia. “Nali girl it’s your heart that's hearting you. Nothing is wrong with your leg the body has long since healed the injury but you’ve created a wall around your head and heart. You’re soul is hearting awful bad, you’re your memory loss is your minds way of protecting itself.” The healer had told her in a crackly voice his eyes full of distress. He had advised her travel off their land and to the east where the cactus blossom herd resided. He had heard tales of the cactus blossom’s Shaman. His name was Aerus and bards throughout the soq lands told of his wisdom and magical prowess. “Nalini if you want to regain your memories he is the only one I know who has the power to break the wall your unconscious mind has erected.” The Mist Alpine healer had told her concern etched onto his face.

Nalini gazed at the changing sky her thoughts in turmoil over the decision to try to regain her memories or stay clueless to the past. . The wind picked up pushing heavy laden rain clouds to the south and now she could only see the stars through patches of dark clouds. The world was always changing no matter how hard you tried hold on to the familiar. “ I’ll have to be like a tree swaying with the wind or I’ll break,” Nalini said as she watched the trees sway side to side. She had been staring at the sky lost in thought for hours and found her-self a bit surprised to feel the first drops of rain hit her face.

Nalini lifted her nose to the air inhaled the clean air and felt like singing. A weight had been lifted off her heart. She had weighed the pros and cons and realized while some could say avoiding the past was cowardly she was happy with who she was. Maybe eventually she would slowly regain her past bit by bit but on the day of the accident –she had been reborn. The return of her memories all at once could perhaps even change her entire personality. Nalini let out a snort of derision it would be rather surreal to become somebody else and she rather liked the mare she was becoming. Nalini raised head and felt the water fall on her face and transform her thoughts. She would no longer look to the past and accept herself as Nalini of the Mist Alpine herd or as some herd members called her Nali girl.

The Lovely Mare:

Comments: She has both half breed-Hippogryph blood and Ulun'suti blood. Her tail feathers are supposed to look like a phoenix. Her tail hair is straight but she also has a couple of small braids that run horizontal
I used a lot of symbolism to create her to fit what I think are the themes of the opening event . The symbolization of a frog; Transformation, Cleansing, Healing, New Life, Hidden Beauty, and Adaptability. The symbolism of a phoenix is associated with resurrection and rebirth. Lastly and most personal is the symbolism behind the lotus creation, the afterlife, enlightenment, fertility and sensuality, purity, and health. The lotus is often a common tattoo for people who have gone through a dark period in their life and have survived and grown. It’s why I have a purple lotus Tattoo on my shoulder. I see the shop as going through a process of rebirth its changing and healing. For the rp portion I decided to have Nalini have amnesia as a catalyst for being reborn and as I felt it was one way of following the event themes while staying within the shops rp guidelines. –Also she was done all on a laptop with no special drawing tools or a computer mouse. I’m pretty proud of her and I’m also open for any color changes or loss of edits if you pick her.

He trotted quietly along, the glow from his lantern and the gems upon the skull around his neck as well as the ones on his legs providing the only light he could navigate with. The moon was deeply hidden behind the clouds and a cool breeze was slowly beginning to pick up in force. A storm perhaps? Phantomhive wasn't so sure. His hoofbeats slowed to a stop as his ears perked up. There wasn't any discernable sound, but his coat prickled and there was a sense of something out there. The stallion shivered slightly, flicking his tail up a bit higher.

"H-Hello?" He called softly, afraid to spook whatever might be there. A stronger gust of wind toyed with a strand of his mane. Almost as if tugging him towards the east. Phantomhive glanced in that direction, a frown creasing his face.

"Is... someone out there?" Again he called softly, but no response came. Still... he began walking towards the east. The Kawani lands were that direction, he thought. Lands he had been intending to travel to. Word had reached his small herd of 'Guides', whispers of a great battle taking place. There would be many lost ones that needed to be shown a way beyond. Phantomhive had volunteered to go. To leave his home land and travel to a new place.

The wind tugged at him again, making him shiver and a more confident pace enter his steps. Yes. This felt right. Perhaps there was a lost soul out this far that needed guidance back to the Kawani land?

"I will lead you." He murmured with a small smile, never knowing for sure if something followed or not. It was just a sense of 'right' to him. "I'll take you home. And then you may one day run through the fields again." Such was his belief. A soul that never returned home would be lost forever. But a soul that was shown the way could one day rise again anew, and begin a brand new journey in life. That was their way, the way of the Guides.

The Handsome Stallion:

Comments: I had an idea for him being of a foreign herd that believes they can guide souls to their rightful 'home' or place of important meaning that will allow them to pass on and one day be reborn. He is not aware of the fire having taken place, exactly, but feels a strong sense of needing to be in the Kawani lands for some purpose!

I know it's heard to see, but the eyes on the 'skull' are supposed to glow faintly. Also thank you very much for this chance! <3

The Story:
Quote:
I'm afraid of what I might do
'Cuz there's no me if there's no me and you

"Leave them," said the gruff voice. It echoed throughout the forest, a sad resonance.

"But, Leader, he's your s -"

"I can't," he cut in, tone sharp. Bloodied and bruised from the fight, he had been exhausted long before it even began. Mentally, physically... and now, emotionally. He tossed his head, blue eyes boring through the young stallion's own. Yahto's voice bordered on pleading, and he turned away. Could not bear to look at it, to see their eyes.

"I can't. They... he made his choice."

Lightning flashed above the trees, illuminating the shadowed figures that lay about. A scattered nest, broken eggs. The build of the prey, the enemy, slain against the roots of a great tree.

His next words were swift and quiet. "I'm... disbanding the herd. We're done."

Yahto moved past the small form that lay near his side, eyes strained to stare straight ahead. He didn't want to see it; see his only son on the ground, lying still.

His son. Slowly, his breathing became harder, eyes shut tight against everything.

He had been so kind, he had loved all creatures. Even something as small as a bird warranted his protection in his eyes. Above all, he was... foolish. Yahto's chest ached in a way it had never ached before. All of his physical pains could never amount to this loss.

Such a foolish child. Why he had felt he could go against such a monster, and for what? For a nest of birds? Simply because he was a strong stallion, just like... just like his father. He stopped to look at the nest, the cause of all of this. A stallion - one of the warriors for the herd - approached him. "But, Leader... I-I'm so sorry for your loss, for all of our losses, but... we can't just..."

Yahto gave him the most convincing smile he could, although what he would have loved to do most was scream. Instead, a calming reassurance was all he could muster. "This will be a new start for each of us. We... have done things. Bad things. My son, despite his heritage, believed in the good of us. Of everything. And he gave his life for his ideals. Before, I... didn't really know what I was fighting for."

Kneeling down, Yahto nosed at the nest. The sound of frantic chirping caught his attention, and he looked down to see the mother bluebird. She hopped along the ground, wing bent, but still mourning the loss of her eggs. Yahto watched her with wide eyes.

"We both lost something, didn't we?" he murmured, expression softening. This was what his son had wanted to protect. The smaller ones, the innocent creatures that could not protect themselves well enough. He never could let nature take its course, but he had been proud of him for that.

"Come with me," he told the bird softly. She didn't trust him, he knew that, but she was all he had left of his son's ambitions. If he were to make a new start, he would begin with this bird. It would mark the beginning of his life, away from the malicious ways of the kalona, away from the wars.

It was cold, but spring was coming. This bird was more proof than anything. "Come on," he said again, and the bird hopped into his braid. "As I said, this herd is done. Go home, go find your families. Welcome this change, because it... it could have been you."

With that, Yahto made his way through the trees. He would find someone to mend their wounds, and then he would begin the rest of his life.

The Story:
Quote:
A tale exists, told throughout the native tribes, of a fiery mare that roams the lands leaving nothing but char in her wake.

---

"Many moons ago, a filly was born, rare in color and magic of horn. She was a treasure to the Chief as her presence brought forth the birth of his own daughter. The filly and child were raised side by side, never straying far from the other. With each rising sun and setting moon the pair grew strong, healthy and brave. The filly became a beautiful mare with a bright coat and golden horn. At her side remained the chief's daughter, now a young woman but the youth and joy in her soul never left.

Soon word of the horned mare spread through the land, many seeking the tribe out to call upon her magic. Magic she used to heal the wounded and the sick. As word of the mare spread, word of the Chief's daughter passed over the winds with it. Brave warriors began to appear bringing their protection and trade goods from the far lands. Each aimed to take the daughter's hand in marriage and each was denied by the protection of the mare.

For you see, the mare saw no good will within any of these travelers."

The tribal Elder fell silent for what seemed an eternity. Wide-eyed children stared in wonder, eager to hear more of the story at hand. Old, gray eyes fell upon the Chief's daughter as the Elder continued.

"As a new year began, a new warrior arrived before the feet of the chief. He offered rare pelts, not unlike those of the prized mare. The chief, insulted by the offering, refused the warrior and sent him away. For to the Chief, such precious fur was akin to slaying the tribal treasure.

The young warrior was insulted in turn by the denial and, as night fell, he razed the village."

The Elder's hand shook as he threw a shimmering powder into the pit. The fire roared hot and dangerous, sending embers high into the night sky. Many shrank away from the blaze, while others seemed to move closer to hear more.

"The fire burned through the night, reducing the village to ash. The warrior gazed upon the charred ground and as quickly as he appeared in the village, he left. As the new sun rose, life stirred from beneath the remains of the once thriving tribe. The figure of the mare stood, gazing at the empty land before her. The once shining coat now as dark as the razed land beneath her feet. The orange and red of the fire rising up her legs and covering her heart.

The horn upon her head no longer shimmered, the ash of the fire having turned it as black as night. An attempt to shake her tail free of the debris revealed flame touched plummage. With each new step, the mare felt a weight falling from her back. In her wake lay several dark feathers, each from the wings that now graced her form."

Once more the Elder tossed a powder over the fire, this time reducing it to no more than several hot coals.

"Her dark eyes searched the land and found nothing but loss. The strange warrior had taken everything the mare loved in a single night. The mare began to travel the lands in search of the warrior that took the life of the Chief's daughter that she had cared so deeply for. With each village she came upon that showed greed, fire quickly spread and disappeared leaving loss for the tribes.

The mare never found the warrior and still searches with each sun and moon. She continues to burn the land, taking life and watching tribes rebuild and learn from their losses. As new villages appeared across the land they brought with them renewed life and respect for every sacred creature."

Name of Soquili: Nkwa
Temper: Disillusioned.

The Story:

Quote:
Nkwa was sad, so sad. She looked in to her mothers cold eyes and looking back was emptiness. She had just finished telling her a story, a story of a creature which held magical properties. Their own kind didn't possess magical qualities, not those that she had met and her mother... Would soon leave this world.

Badly wounded by another, she was fading quickly though her many trophies and possessions that decorated her serpentine body and lair expressed the story of a female unlike the one laid weak before her now. She collected horns from the other kalona, horns from the fallen. Another had mistook this as a clear kill of their kin and punished her for it. Managing to escape the older, larger males clutches, she limped back to their lair to tell one, final story.

The story of a unicorn.

These unicorns spurred envy within the young filly. She wanted to find one of these unicorns and demand they use their healing abilities to heal her mother and she didn't refrain from telling her mother of this idea either. Her mother, looking on at her naive daughter gave a gentle shake of her head.

"They would heal you, they would!" She protested, climbing to her hooves. Whipping her tail around violently. "I'll find one, you'll see!"

Her mother was to object if it wasn't for the fact the filly had already made up her mind about the little adventure. Darkness was already upon the land and the moon was wrapped within a blanket of clouds. There was little light and more monsters in the shadows than there was trees. Slowing her pace, the kalona filly was starting to regret her will to adventure when the image of her mother's life leaving her spurred her on.

She would find the unicorn and she would have it heal her.

Narrowing her brows to the middle of her head, it took hours and those hours soon dragged in to daylight. No sign of that unicorn. She frowned, starting to weigh her options. She could go back but she knew empty handed her mother would disapprove of her being so easy to give in, even if she didn't think she was ready for the adventure to begin with.

She had to keep going. She wouldn't stop.

Nkwa would stop to drink and eat when it was absolutely necessary and continued immediately once her needs were filled.

Hours became days and days dragged on for many moons.

The filly was no longer weak and small when she found that unicorn. She had grown in to her adult form, with her own horn. Her muscles, firm and strong. Her mind, experienced and undeterred. The continuous journey granted her stamina and now, she was ready to face the result.

Every night she would dream of the moment she would meet with the unicorn and stood, drinking the waters contents was that very creature.

Nkwa wasn't beyond approaching and asking, at first. She would grant the creature one chance before she demanded it came with her. The Unicorn lifted her head, giving the mare a cautious eye. Getting closer, the unicorn move step by step away from her.

"You will come with me?" She asked, lifting a brow.

The unicorn snorted and shook her head.

This angered Nkwa and she believed the opportunity for the unicorn had passed.

"I will rephrase that, you will come with me." Glinting the same devilish smile her mother used to have, she charged toward the unicorn and the chase began.

The unicorn bounded through the forest, kicked up dirt, pointed it's horn at it's attacker but Nkwa was just too quick, too powerful and too instinctive for the unicorn. She lifted her wings out in to the air before flattening them to her sides. Diving toward the unicorns location. Once close enough she let them spread once more and pushed her hooves out, crushing the creature on landing.

Nkwa also going for a tumble in the process. Coming to, the kalona looked on at her fallen target, satisfied at the capture. Unfortunately, once she came to it's side she noticed that the nasty blow had killed the innocent thing. She frowned, not the result she was hoping for but close enough. She remembered her mother would keep the horns of her victims and that is what a unicorn would use to heal.

It would have to do.

Snapping it with her hoof, she took the horn within her mouth and set off on the journey back to the lair. Her mother would be so proud.

She couldn't stop smiling, the feeling of satisfaction and victory clawed through her veins. That was, until she came across the lake where the unicorn was drinking. She stopped, looking at the figure that stood in it's reflection.

It was no longer young and hopeful and the feeling of achievement faded quickly. That's when she realised, she was too late...

So pre-occupied by the need to collect the unicorns horn, she had forgotten time, how it passed, how long it had taken to achieve what she had set out to do.

Her mother... Was long gone by now and all she had left, was the horn of a unicorn.

Name of Soquili: Erik
Temper: Proud

The Story:
Quote:
Charging waves of horse and man crashed like the tides, beating sword and spear against one another. Following his rider's commands, he continued waging war until the searing pain of a spear hit him square in the chest and all went dark. Hooves beat against the bark of the great Ash Tree, tangling with the darker limbs. Nearing the rooms, he slammed his feet into the trunk and refused to fall further. There was still more to do, more to see, he would not go now. For moments that seemed like hours, he waited for either his knees to give or a side from the all father. Just as his will was about to give, a tickling of feathers shot from his back and he felt the grasp lighten and he began the climb. It was not easy, but he felt his mark imbed and break with every step. White branches began to come into view and soon he saw midgard once more. While he knew he had the strength to continue on and join other great stallions in Valhalla, he knew his duty called him to save the ones who rode into battle with him. With newfound wings and a few snapped branches from Yggdrasil, Erik burst through the earth and soared like the horses of the Valkeries, continuing the role he was meant to do.

Comments: I forgot the whitish tips on the wings, and as far as what style wind wings, i don't care. I just drew a general idea.

Name of Soquili: Felix
Temper: Radiant

The Story:
Quote:
Some say that the phoenix is a quiet, solitary creature. Keeping mostly to itself with only the thought of coming out during times of great peril to judge the rest of the world. But yet there is something so beautiful, so strong about the phoenix. Something misunderstood. Something that is a reflection of our own self-worth. The self-worth of our family, our friends, or loved ones. Never to fade despite all circumstance.

Felix was one of the solitary creatures. But it wasn’t for her lack of empathy. In fact, her empathy for all living creatures, big and small, transcended her small mountain home and down the vast mountain side and into the trees. She was a quite creature, but a warm and gentle soul. On moonlit nights, especially those in which were the most quiet and serene, Felix would fly down from her territory. And each time she was looking for one thing.

Lost souls.

She hated the pain in which loneliness and hardship took to the creatures that lived below her. She saw them as so tiny, so fragile, that she wanted to do everything she could to help them. Most would never see her. Most wouldn’t know her name. But they would know she was there. A flicker of a flame she created, dancing in the night, giving them a path. Giving them a reason to keep going and find their way.

It wasn’t her duty for the rebirth of herself. Oh no. She wasn’t a selfish creature by any means. She was the phoenix. A guiding light. A way to something new. Nothing more. Nothing less. A soul helping another soul. But of course, the gods had other plans. They wished to give back to her.

So, in the quite night a dream came to her. A flicker of a flame in the dark tunnel. And true to form she followed it. But couldn’t quite catch it. She kept going. Kept reaching. Her body burned with the heat of her energy. But it wasn’t painful. Never painful. And on that night she began to her the voices of those she helped in her dreams. They told her thank you. Told her that without that light they would have lost everything.

She began to cry then, quiet golden tears down her cheeks. And her body burned. Burned in the inferno of their thanks and love.

And when she awoke something was different. Something was new. And she realized then that the guiding voices were telling her to go. Go fly. Fly high into the air in the warmth of the sun. Feel its rays of sunshine. Do something for herself. Feel the love and ecstasy of change.

Felix smiled then, coming out of her cave in the bright fresh spring air. The sun warmed her cheeks. Bathing her in the warm rays. It was a time of her rebirth. Her new beginning.

She’s a uni-wind mix.
Wavy long hair
Edited uni tail with the hair going all the way up to her rump.
Uni horn.
My failed attempt at the heron wings.
The wings are supposed to represent a long term flame, possibly about to go out but yet they don’t out of her own perseverance.

Name of Soquili: Renacido
Temper: Reborn

The Story:
Quote:

Renacido always knew this day would come. The day when he was to go out into the wild and become a stallion in the eyes of the herd. His herd was very traditional in the sense that there was a rite of passage for all stallions in the herd. There was a seperate rite of passage for mares, but he wasn't sure how that tradition actually went on, being a stallion himself. He did know that whether they were a mare or a stallion, they came back with something from their journey. The most traditional were stones and shells, but some of the braver came back with feathers. The feathers of peacocks. They were in the opposite direction of where most traveled. In the deepest woods near some rather ruthless Kalona.

Renacido knew that that was the direction he wanted to go. Not only because it was the path for the brave, but he also believed that the feathers were perfect for him. Something that would go wonderfully with his fur. He saw very few other with the beautiful feathers. The blues and teals was something he loved.

Renacido walked over to the start of the path. He knew that there was much hardship on the road ahead, but he knew that he could acheive what he wanted to do as well.

A few weeks later, Renacido returned. He walked into the small herds territory. Feeling a better sense of himself and who he was, he walked with a sense of pride. Holding in his bag, he had several beautiful feathers to pin to himself. He also carried with him a scar. A scar that held the story of his journey's end...

Comments: I always LOVE these contests <3
On a side note, it would be rather awsome if he was a Kirin-Uni crossbreed. Some nice leg and head scales. Maybe some smaller rump scales so that his gorgeous markings still show. He could also maybe have the scar over his eye added from his journey.
Also, writing out his whole journey would probably be a little too long to write out here, so if I actually win, I'll be doing a self RP with him to RP out his whole journey <3
