"I did." Helmut admitted, because it was important to be honest. "I don't any more." The tiny ghoul huffed, folding her arms tightly across her chest and turning her head in the opposite direction of him. "You think waaaaaay too high of yourself, stupid!" He continued to gloat, and her shoulders started to shake with anger.
"I HOPE THEY EAT YOU!" She half-whined, half-cried, and launched herself at him. Her tiny claws planted on his shoulders as she tried to push him underwater with every ounce of strength she could muster.

Most likely because Helmut realized she could never live up to his greatness. Mmm, yes. That had to be her reasoning.
Li Shou's humble thoughts were cut off when the small ghoul lunged towards him, little claws digging into his shoulders as he was easily shoved under the water.
The demon's arms flailed wildly above him. He needed to grab something. ANYTHING that would help him get out of this situation.

It was by pure luck alone that Li Shou's hands missed her towel. Instead his flailing hands hit her face and then pushed upwards on her jaw, which was uncomfortable enough for her to let him go.
She yelped awkwardly and leaned away from him, shying away squinting from his flailing hands, not wanting to get hit. The move eased her grip on his shoulders, and suddenly she wasn't interested in him anymore. By then the fuss had loosened her towel, and she was scrambling backwards now, gathering it up to keep it closed.
"Why are you so mean?!" She whined, no longer looking at him as she focused on tying her towel again.

The boil surfaced and gasped for air as soon as the force keeping him down had released his shoulders, a coughing and sputtering fit following close behind. His glazed eyes shot to her, baffled, when Helmut asked him why he was so mean.
"I'M mean?!" he shouted in between coughing fits, each clearing of his throat sounding less and less watery than the last. "YOU just tried to drown me! Who exactly is the mean one here?" Still you, Li Shou. Still you.
That didn't stop him from moving over to where he'd left his towel so he could leave.

"I didn't try to DROWN you!" Helmut cried in her own defense. Okay, so she may have tried at least a little, but the point was she didn't actually intend to dissipate him. "You're the one who....who..." With every word the wind seemed to get knocked out of her sails, until she had trailed off entirely, swaying unsteadily on the spot and, slowly, she began to sink into the water. "-'s---um." She hummed, her eyes glossing over and her cheeks finally showing a heavy flush.

Li Shou tightly wrapped the towel around him as he listened to Helmut attempt to feign the blame on what just happened. "Who? Who what?" He asked in agitation, looking over his shoulder.
"... H-hey. What're you doing?" The boil froze up as he noticed her sudden odd disposition. Was this some kind of weird game?

Helmut raised her hands to rub her face, but after a whole second of it her hands fell back into the water, floating uselessly on the surface. She looked a little green after that, and felt just as bad; she never was very good at regulating her own body temperature, and the hot water, coupled with the hot emotions and all the activity, had pushed her over her limit. She began to feel rather nauseated, and tried to move towards one of the ledges, trying to climb out in a manner that looked just as awkward as it felt.
"Waaaarm." She managed to complain, giving up on her shaky attempt at an exit to instead hold her arms out to him, as if expecting help out of the hot spring.

Li Shou's ears folded against his head as he watched her zombie-like movements. Warm? Yeah. The hotsprings were warm.
"What?" His brows furrowed as he stared at her outstretched arms. Was this... A trick?
Of course it was! "Hah. Nice try. You're not going to have another attempt at my life. I see right through you!" She wasn't that weak, after all. The boil folded his arms and turned towards the exit.

Helmut let out a warbling little groan, looking more and more green the longer she remained in the water. When he didn't help her, she tried to leave again, but her blind grabs for the ledge got her no where, and even if she did grab them, she doubted she had the strength - or focus - left to pull herself out.
All she could do was sink into the water, her eyes rolling backwards into her head.

Li Shou had been ready to march right out of the hotsprings as a whole, and only by happenstance shot another glance back into the pool of water...
There were bubbles where a certain wendigo should've been.
The cat boil turned around fully to better assess the situation. Nah, she wouldn't pass out... Right? She was just screwing with him... Right?
As the seconds passed and the ghoul didn't resurface, Li Shou could feel his heart start pounding wildly. Oh... Oh s**t!
Without really thinking about it, he jumped in and grabbed at the spot he had last seen her, hoping to raise her up so she could at least breathe for the time being.

Helmut couldn't understand why it was so hard to breathe, but it was. Relief came with a pair of arms, which was strange to her because usually being gripped limited her breathing. Regardless of how it happened, she had air again, but it didn't mean too terribly much; after a little bit of coughing to clear her lungs, she was right back to where she had started; on the verge of passing out again.
Poor Li Shou now had a Helmut-shaped dead weight, one that was perhaps a little too warm to the touch.

W-well. She was coughing. That was a good sign, right?
The boil shook her a little bit, as if trying to snap her back to reality, but the realization of what she said and how warm she was to the touch finally synced up. Apparently, she was overheating.
Which meant he had to get her out of there quick, fast, and in a hurry. Considering his limp noodle arms, it was easier said than done. In water it wasn't an issue, but...
The boil grumbled loudly as he released her torso in favor of claiming her arms, basically draping her over his back like a cape. "Hey. Pig monster. You should hold on." Whether she did or not, he was going to do his best to climb out. Maybe that giant tail of his would come in handy for once.

She was being moved? Was that what was happening? She couldn't figure it out anymore. Someone had said something to her, but all she could muster in reply was a small, incoherent noise. But there was something slightly colder against her now, and that was enough for her to hold on anyway, as tightly as she could.
Which, considering how over heated she was, was not very tightly at all.

What might have been an epic rescue mission in his mind was basically the boil flopping over like a fish once he managed to use his meager strength to carry them to dry land.
Groaning, he dumped the wendigo off and started to examine her, gently smacking her cheeks to try and gain a response.
"Hey... HEY!" Li Shou barked, switching to shaking her shoulders instead. Maybe, just maybe he could take some of the heat off of her if he concentrated. That was a specialty of the cat sidhe, after all.

However Li Shou managed to drag her from the water was really unimportant to her; the fact was, she was out of the heat. The grass felt delightfully cool even if the fall to it had been rough, and the temperature change helped ease the overwhelming dizzyness and nausea that came with overheating.
The smack to her cheeks went unnoticed, but the shaking of her shoulders made one of her eyes open, though she couldn't focus on him, she knew that he was there. Her shoulders began to feel a little cooler, but it wasn't enough. The ground wasn't enough anymore, either. The ghoul groaned, the noise sounding as ill as she felt, and rolled over, trying to find another cool patch of land.
