Maybe just random sketches with no real meaning?" Zero seemed to shrug, as he was unsure of who would write like this. He brought his hand up to his chin, seemingly in deep thought, but he noticed that his hand looked paler than usual. "Urk...again?" He had only recently arrived, and this was already happening? Perhaps luck wasn't on his side today, or perhaps it was the complete opposite. Either way, he wasn't going to let it deter him. He was certain that rampant displays of magic had already caused an imbalance, so surprised was something he was not.
"I'm not entirely certain of this entire thing, but it might be a link back to my bloodline. At least, on my "father's" side." Any step closer was a step in the right direction. He would be content with the knowledge alone, at least. Zero was naturally inquisitive, even matured as he was, and even with his skin tone fading ever so slightly, he was going to learn all he could until he vanished. Of course, she didn't seem to be able to help for now, so it wasn't much to go on so far, so if he were to vanish here it wouldn't have been all bad, at least. Searching for knowledge was one of the more difficult things he had ever done, but subsisting in a time that wasn't his own was even more difficult, and incredibly draining.
"I can see some of them are actual, uninterrupted words, but it's rare to find those. I've managed to figure it was a list, at least." Not much to go on, and it wasn't easy figuring it all out either, as Zero was more accustomed to common speak rather than any other language. In his mind it was probably easier than he was making it, but even if he figured out each word, it was still a cipher. Working it all out would be better for him, but he might not even be the one to put it all together. Maybe not this time, given that he was running out of said time.

Stahl § Venerra "Come along with me, we'll fly between worlds, Through purple forests and frostbitten skies, Diving deep, we'll make these late nights memorable..." Stahl had caught Alana's joke easily, though surprisingly said nothing, right now he was more concerned with not catching a cold...after all, being sick meant staying on the ground for at least a full day, definitely something he never wanted on his to-do list. Her mention of secrets, however, was at least met with a light smirk for two reasons. One, she implied she had secrets, something the black-haired male always enjoyed getting out of people. Not for the secret itself, but because it was interesting how different people were in terms of how long or what it took to get said secrets out. Two, the chuckle that follwed was rather unexpected, yet suited the blonde-haired woman quite nicely, appearances definitely could be deceiving he supposed. Her next statement, along with the unmistakeable blush on her cheeks, was also met with a change in expression, this one in the form of a raised eyebrow. Had she not promted him to start moving, the male probably would've asked her to elaborate on 'what she meant'.
For the duration of the trip, Stahl's level of conversation was uncharacteristically limited, the few words leaving his mouth were nothing more than 'here' or 'there' or some variation of such as he directed them towards the College. It wasn't far, but there were more than a few twists and turns in the path. Still, before his wings got to the point of being waterlogged, the pair were practically bursting through the doors of what appeared to be the main office building of the college. Just before entering completely, Stahl let Alana go in first before lowering his wings, the black mass of feathers shuddering rapidly as he tried to get as much water out as possible. Though not quite satisfied, he relented with a sigh of defeat as he closed the door behind him, bringing a wing forward making a brief attempt at smoothing out some of the feathers. "Not going to get enough time to properly dry these if this rain keeps up...damn things are going to fluff up like a newborn chick." He said, mostly to himself before his gaze flicked to Alana, giving her a small nod. "How're you and your friend holding up?" He asked.
{Hey there ^^ Hope things are going well now, or at least starting to get on the uphill :3}"I'm crystallised, I'm lost in my head, But with you, my only hope, I can begin this boundless renewal."

Basima The Dhampir Look at me smile.... Basima again looked it over. "My father knows Ancient Egyptian, Cuneiform, Greek, Latin, Arabic, French, Spanish, Italian, and English. If it's any related language he may nor may not know. We can still ask him what he sees in the book." the girl answered she looked around a bit and then back to the man. "Shall I call him." She asked him.

Alana made sure on the way to the college that the kitten was shielded by her arms and Stahl's wings. She wasn't good at expressing herself, although she was grateful he had sacrificed any dryness for himself to keep her and the kitten as dry as possible. When they finally arrived at the college, Alana ran inside the last few steps as she had been soaked, nearly to the skin with rainwater. At least the kitten stayed mostly dry. Holding the door open for Stahl, she shut it after him as he entered the building. Pulling the kitten out of her jacket, Alana smiled and nuzzled it's nose with her own. "Such a little cutie..." She cooed, before blushing, as she had forgotten that Stahl was speaking. She let out a light laugh at the mention of his wings fluffing like a newborn chick. Smiling at him as he asked how they were holding up, Alana laughed lightly. "I think I'll survive." She replied. "How about you?"

Zero had said that when she looked away, and when she looked back the tall youth in the black coat was gone. Replaced by a child of similar appearance wearing very similar, but funadmentally different attire. He gazed at his hand as the color came back and sighed, knowing full well that he had since then reverted. He answered her question, however, deciding not to remark on the sudden change. "If you would, I would be grateful. Every little bit helps." Zero spoke while his hand quickly moved to his head to adjust the hat of his, hopefully keeping the brim from crossing his line of sight too soon.
He smiled at her anyway after her offer to help him. His fangs were much smaller, and far less threatening than they were before. Further, the cross dangling from his neck reappeared, as he hadn't destroyed it as a child. Everything was as it should've been, and with any luck, he wouldn't continue switching places with a version of him too far removed from the natural order of things. His face was full of a natural kind of joy, which was remarkable for a child so hellbent on killing his own father. Of course, without knowing that he just seemed as any other child...full of hope, filled with a future. For Zero, it was a tad bit more obvious thanks to the man he had just been moments before.

Basima The Dhampir Look at me smile.... Basima nearly jumped out of her skin to see the child there, but after a good long look at the kid she could tell that it was the same person. "I'll call him now." She said before pulling out her cell phone and dialing the number for her father. After a few rings she told her father about the book and asked him to come as soon as possible.

"I'm sorry if I scared you. That man is...I need his help for a little while longer." While they were, indeed, one and the same, Zero was not going to refer to the matured version of himself as anything other than a different person. That man had mastered everything Zero had not, and grown stronger where Zero had not. The differences were too great for them to be the same, and the only similarities just happened to be a name and a face. Zero needed his help for a little while longer, but he wasn't content to stay as him forever.
Basima had informed the vampire lord of his predicament, and that meant that Zero may have been one step closer to unlocking the secrets of the memoir. While it wasn't complete, it would grant him some of the knowledge he wished. He opened a much smaller rip in space back to where he was hiding, and threw his black jacket in to it to hide its beaten look. He would greet the man, instead, in just the white collared shirt since compared to the jacket, it was in far greater condition. There was, naturally, a few problems with him visually. Despite being able to regenerate rapidly, his entire right arm was prosthetic...where his fingers bent, his wrist, his elbow, where his shoulder used to be...they were all ball joints meant for a golem.
The tiny prosthetic was his punishment, he supposed, but he could survive without a right arm. "This man...I wonder if he has seen my father before." Zero brought his hand back up to his chin when he thought of the possibility. A large chunk of history was missing, and while filling in the blanks was a chore, even a small possibility like this had to be explored. And then there was the possibility that his father was more reclusive than he thought, but Zero didn't want to think about that. It'd ruin much of his prior planning.

Basima The Dhampir Look at me smile.... Basima thought for a moment. It was not impossible that her father and his father had crossed paths at least once. "Maybe. My father likes bars, blood, and women. He also was involved with the Veil wars too." She told the boy. "My father is one the oldest vampires in the world and he knows a lot of others." She answered the boy.

Stahl § Venerra "Come along with me, we'll fly between worlds, Through purple forests and frostbitten skies, Diving deep, we'll make these late nights memorable..." Seeing Alana nuzzle the small animal briefly, Stahl had to contain a short laugh. The longer he spent around her, the less her appearance seemed to match her personality and actions. "A wolf with the heart of a puppy." He thought in amusement. Of course, such a statment wouldn't leave his mouth just yet, after all puppies had the capability of biting just as much as their more ferocious counterparts. When asked how he was doing as well, he simply shrugged, letting his wing go so it could join its twin currently folded tightly to his back. "Inevitable fluffiness aside, just dandy." He said light-heartedly, bringing his hands behind his head as he took in their newest surroundings. The main office started off as a wide room, but narrowed down into a single hallway, doors on both walls leading into rooms allocated to staff members. "Been a while since the last time I was in here..." He said, trailing off briefly as his gaze found the currently unoccupied front desk, he chuckled softly. "Receptionist shooed me out for 'asking too many questions'." He added with a light smille. Students were allowed to seek shelter from the rain here, just like they were, and there was no rules against them being around on other occaisions, but Stahl was probably one of the few that they would actually send out. Aforementioned pestering aside, it wasn't like he was doing anything wrong...he was just curious, that's all. Speaking of curious, the male's attention flicked back to Alana, his smile returned to the casual smirk from before. "Back to what I was saying about never seeing you before today, I don't suppose you attend this college too, do you?" He asked. Stahl knew there were a number of of schools within the city, so there was definitely a good chance that she was elsewhere. Of course, regardless of her answer, he had a number of questions in mind lined up already, it wasn't every day he ran into someone who had piqued his curiosity as much as she had.
{Alrighty then ^^ Going to be a busy couple of days coming up...hopefully it won't be cutting into my RP time, but just a heads up if I go missing for a little while xP }"I'm crystallised, I'm lost in my head, But with you, my only hope, I can begin this boundless renewal."

He was still very cautious about being optimistic or getting his hopes up. All he needed to know was that Basima's father was familiar with most families, and a large portion of vampires personally. "Mine may only be a fraction of his age, so that...th-that...uhh..." Train of thought lost...such a shame too, Zero recalled it having been very important, but apparently not important enough to remember off-hand. "N-nevermind. My objective at hand is more important than reverie." Big words for such a little guy, but that might've been because he was so closely linked with that other man.
Even should his body remain that of a child, he had the brain of a genius, and the attention span of a human watching paint dry. It was the reason for his obviously weaker powers compared to those of his older self's...beyond one of them having matured already. However, it wasn't as if he needed his powers for anything right now...they were entirely fluff as far as he knew. Unless his life was in danger, or something, it served as fluff 90% of the time, and that was quite a lot of time spent.

The demon mage girl noticed the pause in speaking and the amused look on Stahl's face and arched an eyebrow slightly. She wondered what he was thinking. Men were foreign creatures to her. She never met a kind one. Her father had been the only example of a man she had ever known, and he was the reason she had so many emotional walls and her scars. She hoped she could trust this male, but was still a little wary of him. But anyone in her position would be... She did, however, let out a light chuckle at his 'fluffiness' comment. She loved sarcasm. She believed it showed character and kept things interesting.
When the male stated the last time he was at the college a receptionist shooed him out, Alana let out a dissatisfied grunt. "Screw that.. Questions are how people learn." She replied bluntly with a smirk. "If people never asked questions and learned, we'd all be idiots." She added with a laugh. Alana looked at Stahl as he asked about never having seen her until now. "I--" Before the girl could answer, a large black spider crawled into the room from outside, prompting her to squeal like a little girl and jump up into the male's arms, still holding the kitten. "Kill it! Kill it! KILL IT!" She screeched, trying not to look at the spider.
Alana HATED spiders. They were evil. She couldn't stand all the creepy crawly ... legs! So creepy! Fortunately or unfortunately, before the spider could be stomped on, it crawled back outside, leaving Alana in Stahl's arms, speechless. She quickly jumped out of his arms, coughing and looking away awkwardly. "N-nevermind.. It's gone..."

Stahl § Venerra "Come along with me, we'll fly between worlds, Through purple forests and frostbitten skies, Diving deep, we'll make these late nights memorable..." Stahl was, admittingly, a little surpsied by Alana's stance on asking questions. Many saw his constant prodding more as a means to annoy them rather than a method of learning. True, sometimes it was purely to mess with people, but that didn't mean he never learned anything from it. It was a little refreshing to know that Alana felt that way, but somewhere in the back of his head, the black-haired male couldn't help but wonder how long it would be until she had to draw a line. Stahl himself probably had his limits, but he wouldn't really know, it's not like he'd been questioned as thoroughly as he would to someone. When the blonde-haired woman suddenly let out a noise that broke his train of thought, Stahl barely had time to figure out what was wrong before she practically jumped at him. Luckily for both of them, his reaction time was good enough to just manage to catch her, a slightly startled expression on his face as Alana yelled in panic.
Stahl had nearly missed it as his gaze roamed the room for the cause of her unexpected outbusrt, stopping only as he caught sight of the spider making its way back outside. "Arachnophobia?" He thought, his eyes shifting back to the woman in his arms, along with the kitten that somehow managed not to get crushed between them during the commotion. Under his field of study, phobias were quite an interesting section for the male. The cause, the intensity, the chance of getting passed it. Alana, for example, could barely keep herself together just being in the same room as one...why was that? Was it a past experience with the creatures? Or was it just a naturally occurring fear? Regardless, it was something else he took mental note of as she finally calmed down enough to remove herself from his grasp. Unable to contain himself, Stahl coughed a very short laugh. "I feel like you've met the wrong person for that instance." He said light-heartedly. "Sure, it's a little unsettling how everything they do can't be heard by a normal hearing range, but I don't think killing the thing's really on my 'can do' list." He added as he walked over to a nearby wall and leaned lightly on it, careful not to let his still partially damp wings dirty it as he did. "You alright?" He then asked.
{Knowing Stahl, he might think about using that to mess with her at some point...just don't let her hurt him too badly if he does xD }"I'm crystallised, I'm lost in my head, But with you, my only hope, I can begin this boundless renewal."

Alana, still flushed red in the face at her own outburst, coughed to cover her embarrassment and looked down. When the male let out a laugh at her expense, Alana's embarrassment shifted to annoyance. Of course, when he cracked a joke at her meeting the wrong person to kill a spider, Alana smirked. "I could call you a wimp, but I'm the one that spazzed out when it crawled through the crack in the door." She half-teased, which was unusual for Alana. She was almost always in a serious, task driven mood. Taking a moment to think, Alana went over Stahl's words in her head. He didn't kill, didn't seem violent, and he seemed pretty nice. Nice enough to tolerate her and shelter her and her feline friend, at least... And so far he wasn't asking questions about the scarred eye she had shown him. Watching him as he leaned on a nearby wall, Alana finally spoke. "You know, I think it's ... kindof admirable that you don't kill things. Spiders not included, but that's only because -- well, you saw my reaction." She awkwardly complimented with a light chuckle. When he asked if she was alright, Alana smirked. "I think I'll survive." She replied, petting the kitten that was poking its head out of her jacket.
"You can't have animals in here. Dorm rules." A voice said from behind Alana suddenly.
Alana glanced back and noticed a woman with a serious expression on her face was standing behind her, arms crossed. "Bug off." She huffed. "We're only trying to help the poor thing." Alana turned and glared at the woman. "How would you like being stuck out in the pouring rain? Unless you can offer us somewhere else to go, we're staying here until the rain lets up."
The woman grumbled, prompting Alana to add: "And don't worry, I won't let her make on your precious faux wood floors."
{{OoC: Hehe, it's okay. I expected him to tease her about it. ^^ And she won't injure him. Fatally, anyway.. (Just kidding of course. She's not violent. ^__^) I figure it's a fun twist to Alana. She's deathly terrified of spiders. xD Also, sorry this took so long and is kinda short. I've been feeling more sick than usual lately...}}

Stahl § Venerra "Come along with me, we'll fly between worlds, Through purple forests and frostbitten skies, Diving deep, we'll make these late nights memorable..." Stahl Couldn't help but smirk back when Alana spoke. Wimp? Maybe, in the eyes of a few people kept in his memory, 'wimp' was an accurate word to describe the black-haired male. At least, it seemed, he wouldn't have to bring up the fact that she practically had a heart attack. The tone in her voice just now was something he could've mentioned as well, she seemed far less annoyed by his presence than their first exchange of words. Speaking of first, that was probably the first time someone jested right alongside him instead of taken offense, not that he had really jested as such. As he mentioned, killing the spider wasn't something he was going to do, but that restraint wasn't just for the little creature that had stumbled into the place, probably to seek shelter from the rain...kind of like them, now that he thought about it. Hearing Alana speak again, he blinked lightly. Admirable, was the list of 'first of things happening' growing so soon? He rubbed the back of his head lightly. "Under better circumstances, I probably would've forced it into leaving at best. Maybe it was just because I had my hands...er, full...that I didn't, but perhaps it's your show of compassion that triggered mine." He said light-heartedly, his gaze shifting to the kitten momentarily. How it remained so calm was rather impressive. That train of thought, however, was cut short as another voice filled the air, Stahl glanced over at the woman the same time Alana did. Once again, his attention shifted to the blonde-haired female, the heated words causing an eyebrow to raise a little. She was an interesting one to say the least, if he didn't know any better he'd say she made friends with animals faster than she did people. With a mental chuckle, he wondered what part of the spectrum he'd be sitting at in that sense. When she was done speaking, Stahl let out a proper chuckle this time before addressing the other woman. "I understand why there's a rule against animals, allergies being a thing and all that, but as my friend here mentioned, we'll be out once the storm's over. Shouldn't be long enough for hairs and such to be a problem I suspect. No harm, no foul, right?" He explained. In all honesty, the rule actually made only partial sense to him. If animals weren't allowed in, why were people like him allowed within the place? It wasn't like the cats his kin could turn into were completely different from the full-time counterparts. He supposed it was another mystery for him to figure out, but he couldn't stare off into space just yet, there was still a social opportunity to take. "So..." He said, turning his gaze back to Alana. "Whilst there's really nothing to do but chat 'till the rain's done, you have any plans on giving our acquaintance a name?" He asked, nodding lightly towards the kitten.
{Haha, well in any case, you have my permission to knock a little sense into him whenever necessary xD That's fine, hope you're feeling better ^^ Sorry for my own delay, running all over the place trying to catch up on RPs and forgetting which ones I've replied to >w> Happy birthday by the way ^.^}"I'm crystallised, I'm lost in my head, But with you, my only hope, I can begin this boundless renewal."
