Oh nice, I haven't watched Modern Family past season 2. What're the later seasons like? (-:

I'm not doing much actually, just trying to write an anime review and failing to put my thoughts into words.

5

The next seasons are hilarious, as always. There's this episode in season 3 where Gloria convinces Jay to go salsa dancing haha.
I know what you mean. Do you write reviews on MAL?
Ah, that's good to hear! I'll have to continue with the series then. I never bother watching it when it's on tv because I can't stand watching it with commercials but then it's not too high on my priority list of things to watch right now. Oh well, I'll get around to it eventually. I can not imagine Jay salsa dancing... Phil is actually the best character on the show, I think (-:

I've written one review on MAL although seeing as I want to write reviews for a living once I graduate I'm trying to make sure they're as close to perfect as I'm satisfied with before I publish them. I'm not sure if you watch anime or read manga but at the moment I'm writing reviews for Kill la Kill and Fairy Tail. It's difficult because neither has finished airing/publishing so it's hard to write an accurate review for either. I'm also writing a review for Borderlands 2 which is coming along smoothly.

Anyway, how's your day been? (-:

I can't decide on my favorite character.. they're all hilarious xD
Oh and Phil.. he's so awkward around Jay haha

I don't have an account of MAL but some of my friends do. I see, practicing online is a great way to practice for the future (:

I'm not much of a manga/anime person, but catch up on some like Attack on Titan. (I'd rather not watch the anime for that though ^^; ) What mangas/animes do you like to read/watch?

My day's been great! I just completed my quest with the help of some generous donors. How about you?

Haha that's fair enough, it's one of the only shows I've seen where there isn't a single weak/unlikeable character!

Haha, MAL is a great gateway to discovering new anime and manga yet I can see why you wouldn't have it if you're just a casual watcher. You're the first person I've known who reads the AoT manga rather than watch the anime (: I have embarked on neither, the hype kind of put me off starting it, though I intend to at some point. What's your opinion on it?

I don't watch or read as much as I used to because I haven't found anything I've really enjoyed since Gintama (which ended in March last year, sadly). The manga is still ongoing though so I enjoy reading that. At the moment I'm watching Bleach and Naruto Shippuden and reading One Piece. I'm generally pretty open to most genres of anime (besides magical girl...).

Ah, that's awesome! Congrats on completing your quest! (: My day's been okay, first day of my second year of university and it already seems like it's going to be a massive workload. But oh well, I'll survive (: Not looking forward to a 5:30 start tomorrow though. sad

I'm enjoying the manga so far. Mikasa's my favorite character (the last Oriental on Earth)- I mean, Asian pride here haha. At first I was weirded out by the giants and certain scenes in the manga (I mean giants eating humans isn't really my thing...) when I skimmed through it, but it turned out to be a great story.

I see. Oh I've heard of Gintama, but never got to read it yet. What's it about?

Thanks! Awh that's never fun. Good luck!

I've heard that it has pretty good characterisation for the most part smile It hasn't finished publishing yet right?

I'd say start with the anime before reading the manga seeing as it's primarily comedy. I think it translates better on screen than it does on in text but tastes vary smile It's a comedy manga about samurai in feudal Japan where the government's been taken over by aliens and therefore aliens inhabit the earth alongside humans. It takes a while to really enjoy because the comedy tends to be hit and miss for the first 30 or so episodes/50 or so chapters, but it rewards dedication because I believe that it achieves something that no other manga or anime I've seen achieve; it revels in the flaws of its characters and somehow manages to inspire myself and many others because it's so... human.

I probably explained that poorly, I can't really put my thoughts on Gintama into words but tl;dr is it's worth reading if you have patience :3

Haha cheers, the actual unit for photojournalism I had today was really interesting, although it's going to be a lot of work seeing as in only 4 weeks I'll be publishing photos and articles for the local newspaper. It's pretty nerve-wracking but I think the sense of satisfaction will be awesome.

Mhm, I agree, and it isn't done updating yet.

Haha you did a great job of summarizing the story. I see, it's good to have a heads up of what's to come. Thanks! Oh I love reading mangas/stories like that- I enjoy seeing authors acknowledge what humans are really like- they're not perfect or photogenic.

Ah I'm taking a regular (intro to) journalism class right now too. Ooh that must be exciting! I agree- I'm often nervous about working on something/don't actually enjoy the process, but once I see the end product, I'd have to say that it was worth the time and effort.

My day's been somewhat worry-filled. I was talking to a friend earlier, and a tree next to her house fell down due to the weather onto the power lines and so much damage was made. The roads were also filled with water, the most that I've ever seen around here- I'm just hoping that there aren't any accidents. How about you?

Awesome, I've been looking for a new manga to read so that might just have to be it (:

Ah, I'm glad you enjoyed my summary :3 I think it's a manga that *almost* anyone can enjoy provided they have the patience to commit to it. So yeah, highly recommended.

Haha, what a coincidence! Are you enjoying it? Yeah my units seem pretty exciting so far, it's just kind of a massive step up from what I did last year. Although that's to be expected seeing as first year was basically just introductory- more theory than practical application. I'm sure I'll enjoy it more once I have a clear scope of the workload. Yeaah, our ideology towards work is obviously the best ever (:

Oh man that's insane! I hope everything's okay now. My day was alright, after university this morning I did some more work on my Borderlands 2 review and then did some reading to prepare for the unit I have tomorrow. Besides work, I haven't really done all that much really, just played guitar and watched Bleach.

Ah! This is what I was forgetting xD
Sorry, I've been so caught up with the event and all.

I am definitely enjoying journalism. I'm currently learning how to understand and be on "both sides" of an argument, so I'm practicing speech & debate.
She's alright, but was without internet access for a few days.. the horror!

Borderlands is a roleplaying game, right?

Oh you play guitar? Have you heard a guy named Sungha Jung play? You can find him on YouTube and he's... amazing. It looks like his fingers aren't even touching the strings since they move so fast!

My day's been pretty good, since I haven't had much homework this week. I'm just working on a speech for journalism... I'm not sure if my teacher assigned it as homework or not, but I'm doing it just to be safe haha.

Anything new happen for you?

Haha, no problem! (:

Glad to hear you're enjoying journalism! Ah yeah all that moral and ethical stuff gets pretty intense, at least it is this year seeing as I'm studying media law. It's so complex, although I find it interesting. What do you think of it so far? I couldn't imagine not having internet for a few days (if I was around the house I mean, camping or something would be a different story)! At least she's okay. Physically, though probably not psychologically having been without internet for such a *long* time D:

Yeeah it's a roleplaying-first person shooter hybrid, it's pretty great. Are you into videogames?

That's good, not having much homework is always awesome! How's the speech going? Haha at least if it wasn't assigned as homework you'll be ahead of everyone.

Nothing much new has happened to me, I had my first News Writing and Reporting unit today, it seems like it'll be really challenging but cool! I have an assignment in about 5 weeks to find and write a news story in half a day. So it seems pretty intense but the chance to be published in the university's newspaper is just too good! Now I'm just nearing the end of my three hour breaking before a three hour Writing News Online workshop, hopefully that goes well.

Glad to hear you're doing well (:

I'm enjoying the unit a lot, as I'm able to research topics and understand why people support one thing over another. Haha same here! I'd have a mental break down ; o ;

I'm not that into videogames, but some of my friends are *intense* gamers haha

It turned out that it wasn't assigned for homework, so I spent the period editing it and doing my other homework.

Ooh that's exciting! I write for the school newspaper and I know the feeling. The pressure to get it done and have it be perfect is scary, but it's worth the hard work. The teacher who supervises/edits the newspaper is tough on everyone though, and expects articles that are "New York Times" worthy D;

Good luck! Do you have an idea on what to write about yet?
