Yes yes, pedantic distinctions. Ikkio gave Ikuri a brief, unreadably calculating look, before turning back to the woman below her. "C'mon... move!" she demanded.
But then another voice joined theirs in the lakeside quiet, and she knew her fun was over. Adwoa took no s**t from Ikkio, and she knew it. Ikkio slid glumly off of the lady's back and swam over to her sister, treading water nearby as she glared unhappily at the woman for ruining their fun.
"But Grandmama..." she protested, "She's dirty! We were giving her a bath!"
Zumurundi padded over next to Adwoa and stared at Ikkio. He wasn't sure if he wanted to try the water or not... it moved and was wet and just not his thing. He barked at his master. She should come out!"
The woman took the offered hands gratefully and let herself be helped out of the water, savoring the feeling of safe, secure, dry land. "Thank you so much..." she enthusiastically "I was so scared.. Thank you..." it was hard to tell if she was crying, or just wet. She gave the demon children an uneasy look and moved closer to the woman. This time she did start to cry. "I'm so lost, ma'am... I don't know where I am, and... and..." she seemed shaken, "Th-thank you for saving me..."
