Sleep was enviable so she locked the information away she just learned mentally. Closing her eyes, she cuddled into the couch and waiting to the morning shine to grace her.

(Sure, lets skip. I'm ready when you are.)

Nyru Statem

From shadows
We'll descend upon the world
Take back what you stole
From shadows

Stepping through the portal and finding the stone floor of the palace beneath his feet was somewhat comforting, right now he'd do anything for that familiar sense of normality to bring his nerves back to normal. His sister hated him, one of his best friends was left alone surrounded by the dead, his one and only partner probably wanted to murder his sister, and their one true enemy was inside the palace...

"PROTECT THE QUEEN!" came a roar of honour as one of the Royal Guards, a burly chap with a big moustache and beard... and quite the gut, ordered some lesser guards. But then another voice, the Queen's spoke up from the other side of the room "I'm not to protect" almost as if she was disgusted, "Protect the city!" she corrected him, and suddenly there was an explosion of bodies through the throne room doors, demons flooded in but then the room went dark and silent. Nyru looked around and couldn't see anything, all light had been swallowed. Then his heart begant o pound and he almost leaned back to find the comfort of Claudia behind him, then the light of the room came back, and he could hear once more. Declasia let out a sigh as she leaned against the side of her throne, her legs becoming weak under the pressure of the spell she just used.

Isabelle looked over the dead demons scattered over the floor, they were simply dead. Whatever the queen did, not even Nyru understood it. That was when the Queen looked over and noticed them, and the portal behind them closing. "A portal..." she said to herself, she regained her strength suddenly and stood properly as she said "Thank you for coming so quickly, but who is he?". Nyru shuffled for a moment, he could hear the sounds of the guards rushing back out through the doors to engage the enemies not so far down the halls. The palace was so low on defence since Dracula took control, they couldn't possibly hold off a full assault now. "He's..." Nyru couldn't think of something. He couldn't tell her this was Dorian, he and Claudia had told the Queen about Dorian and Zoltan, but obviously, she didn't actually know who they were, or ever really experienced the Zoltan Crisis. But if she had any trust in believing that story... she would hang them for bringing a threat so deep into the palace. He wanted to say he was a wizard from Entei, but what wizard from Entei specialises in the likes that he does...

As soon as their feet met the dark stone flooring of the throne room; its stains unseen in its polished dark surface, there was an uproar of sound and chaos. A cry of a loyal solider saying to protect their Queen made Dorian's ears ring and make him scowl; so noisy and irritating in their panic. Bodies of daywalkers and demons mixed; the once apprentices dark presence being overlooked and mingling with that of the demons own that they slipped by him as if he was invisible as they focused fully on soliders.

The Queen with her seemingly effortless power sunk the room into darkness and dead quiet hung over them all with the heavy presence of death and blood on the air. When the light came back, the demons were dead and those standing on two legs were the only ones alive.

"Certainly impressive...I'll have to learn that trick," Dorian murmured as he glanced over at the clearly weakened Queen. Inwardly he huffed and commented on her weakness but he said nothing outwardly; they already hated him Dorian needn't add fuel to the fire by calling their leader weak. Only when she question who he was did the once apprentice let loose his Cheshire grin inherited from his Master upon coming to his own powers.

Nyru's attempted at explaining his present was amusing that Dorian actually chuckled but it was more condescending then anything else. "Little ol' me...well..." Dorian droned as he gave a bow that was legit however still slightly mocking; he was doing his best but the adjustment would take time. "I'm an old regrettable acquaintance to your little...gang of saviors I suppose you could call it. Wielder of pure darkness and scholar of the darkest of arts, Dorian Grey at your surface My Lady."

We would have explained their story but none would believe them and the Queen would probably like him even less if Dorian told that tale. But he spoke truth at least with his title and ways.

"You're little heavenly angel couldn't make...but she should be here soon; if she doesn't die under the care of the wolves that is"

Once they entered the dim room while the portal disappeared; the pandemonium started without them. A gluttonous guard with a thick brown mustache shouted concerns for his queen. Obviously, he had never seen the woman in action, and because she was a the figurehead, he assumed she was some helpless damsel. From a secluded corner she insisted that she didn't need protection, although her followers would provide it otherwise. The city was the main priority but they wouldn't be able to get into the city until the mass of guards at the doors was cleared. At that very moment, the demons gained leverage into the throne room and due their dark bodies clustering together in one solid mass, the demons were able to snuff out the lights. Darkness eclipsed the room and her pulsing heart climbed up to ear drums as she swallowed roughly. Nyru stepped back and pressed his back up to her side, in return she grabbed his shoulder to signal that she was there. Besides, she wouldn't dare try to move around in the dark blindly because chances are a demon could get to her first.

The candles suddenly lit themselves and from behind them a heavy breathing body clinging onto the arm of the chair for dear life. When she turned, Declasia's power had been depleted in one swift more. Claudia was ready to appear by her side to catch her but she was sure the woman didn't want to be treated delicately. Isabelle gazed at the lifeless corpses as did the rest of them and they were all thinking where that power originated from. It didn't take the queen long to reconstruct her compose and ask them about their new addition to the team. Nyru stalled of course, if she knew of his true identity she would sentence them to falling for sure. He's the apprentice of Zoltan, the man whom almost ruled magic earth and was ready to conjure a portal to the other earth. They were foiled, but Dorian's hate for them killing his master still reminds and even though he said he wouldn't commit treason; there is distrust in all of them. Claudia grimaced at her partner and when Dorian decided to theatrically introduce himself, she face palmed her forehead.

Was he that moronically or playing it innocent? Now the two were in trouble, however, the blonde tried desperately to draw her attention away from Dorian. She stepped in front of him and bowed too before apologizing, "Forgive us, your majesty. The cultist that controlled the demons invaded Southmarch, and Adi happened to experience some misfortune. We're hear now so command us when you see fit." Claudia may have testified for them, but the queen would determine their verdict for herself. Although, time was at the essence since the forces were down the hall. The guards' weapons were plain and not enhanced with any elements which made them easy targets. The creatures didn't view them as a threat and would attack mindlessly in numbers when they engaged.

The Queen awaited a response from her guard but nothing came from then, instead it was from the dark haired male she was questioning. His tone was none-too inviting, he almost seemed to be mocking her but she could deal with a slight tone such as his coming through her halls. She was used to such men, and right now the city was under attack, she didn't have time for worrying about a pestering man like him. However, he explained himself and she accepted it after Claudia continued to divert away from him, obviously he was of no great importance. Before Claudia did speak though, the Queen said "I would trust the Therians with my life" quite simply, making specific use of their real name. She was nothing like the vampires, like what she once was...

Claudia asked for their first order "You're to command yourselves" she then quickly said, her own soldiers pouring out of the room and back into the corridors until it was just them. "Until every demon in this city is thrown into the wells or burned into the sky, or impaled on our blades, you three will command yourselves to make sure you get the job done. As for him, I trust he will be of use. We have no time for a waste of space". The Queen was certain and just with her words, she was never a lady to make something difficult to say, nice. She always said ti exactly as it were, perhaps her old-age made her realise the futility of lessening the impact of anything someone doesn't want to hear.

"Very well Queen Declasia" Nyru stated, Isabelle barely even agve him a look, or the Queen however, she just followed. "They're flooding outside the gates to the palace again, don't let them in" Delcaisa then said, staring down the corridor that was like a labyrinth, yet she knew what was coming, for she saw all that happened in her city. With that, they were off, and Nyru stated to Dorian "You stay with me, I can trust you'll do at least that to shwo your honesty of the moment" as his helmet covered his face. Isabelle followed swiftly beside claudia, and gave the girl one look, barely for a moment, just a glance, and said "Do me a favour, when im gone. Tell him when he's wrong".

At the Queen's words and disrespect Dorian bristled a bit. He didn't wholly unexpected this to occur when meeting the ruler of this land, specially if none of them remembered his Master. The once apprentice had to remember that unanimity was helpful in the long run. Dorian however was far from a waste of space, had he been, Dorian would never become who he was right then.

Holding his tongue and merely narrowing his coal dark eyes which in itself set several nearby solider in a state of unease. The perk being he could command himself, for the most part as that excitement was short lived as Nyru commanded him to stay clothes.

"As you will...but I can't promise that the battle won't take me away from you either...you're partner has you're back; doesn't mean I have to be near to keep you from dying." Dorian said this while staring straight ahead but a Cheshire grin spread across his face as he turned toward Nyru his gaze seeming to stare and penetrate right through the medal of the helm. "Neither will I let you die...as irritating as this all is working with you; it is also oddly entertaining."

The queen didn't have time to waste on idle chit-chat and believed her story regardless. She felt there was no reason to distrust her loyal guard's judgment and let them off the hook for now. As for the command, it was simple, they had authority over their own actions. They all had the same objective so working as a team shouldn't be a problem unless Dorian decided to betray them. Anyway, the queen insulted the man intention, although he wouldn't have come if he was going to be a 'waste of space' like she implied. Plus, there was four of them and each one can take a side of the city covering it compass wise; North, East, South and West. Declasia refused to carry afflictions with the Werewolves and probably wanted to make amends with them as she did with Dorian, but it was strictly temporary.

Nyru agreed to his queen's terms, as did she, and they were all advised to clear the gates before the vermin infiltrated again. Without delay, they all ran down the labyrinth as Nyru volunteered to be Dorain's partner while she was stuck with the sister that loathed her. Dorian made some cocky remark that she ignored, but when it came to Isabelle she widened her eyes in fear. "What do you mean when your gone? Isabelle, I know you don't like me, but please don't do anything rash. He needs you, you're his sister. I'm just his partner. I can replaced any time. He needs you. I'm sorry what I said before I was wrong and I let my angry get the best of me." The blonde pleaded as the neared the battle. She kept shaking her head in fear of what the girl may do as she regretted the words she said earlier.

As they made their way past the dead guards and demons across the ground like debris, the scale of the attack here hit home for Nyru. Turning to look at Dorian as he replied, he caught that cheshire grin and it made the pit of his stomach feel like it was bubbling acid as hot as molten lava. But then he said something else, that made his spine shiver and question why he brought Dorian along with them. Before they reached the main entrance there were only the odd smaller demon or two, and Nyru thrust his blade into one that leapt at him as he replied "Just so that you can be the one to kill me?" he pushed the dead carcass of his blade and it tumbled down to the floor as he took a breath and looked back at Dorian, "I think my sister would beat you to it".

Behind them was Isabelle and Claudia exchanging their own words, Isabelle was still trying to put her point across but this time she was doing it slyly and to her brother's partner. Yet the blonde was quick to question it. She didn't retaliate blindly though, she replied thoughtfully and expressed how much Nyru needed her, yet, her stubbornness still got in the way. As they stopped nearby Nyru and Dorian at the main gates, looking out to the dark city streets, Isabelle replied "I'm a Demon Hunter, not a Royal Guard. I've overstayed my welcome and i won't be here to slap him. " she sighed quickly, realising what she'd said. She swallowed her thoughts, she was still so angry and could feel it as her fists continued to tighten on her grip of her bracelets.

Those fallen were at their feet, comrade and enemy as it were. Both parties having their blood soak into the ground; be it tile or rock, carpet or earth. The stains left behind would certainly be difficult to get out, but Dorian figured the Queen had her ways of getting such stains out. The massacre was certainly something to admire, but he said nothing aloud as that would certainly rub his three 'companions' the wrong way.

As the girls bantered with whatever it was, Dorian cared not for it rather his focus was on Nyru as he drew his blade and squired a single demon upon it like one would stick a barbecue. The Daywalker's words making him grin and oddly enough laugh outwardly. It was not the typical warm and cheery sort of laughter a normal person would give off. The magic wielder threw his head back as a dark hackle low at first began to grow louder. Shoulder moving as Dorian held his stomach, eventually the laughter died moments later but feeling like minutes instead.

"Oh...Nyru...so wrong you are. If I wished you dead, you certainly would be so right now," Dorian's Cheshire grin remained on his face but the laughter hung in his dark charcoal eyes. "I have a list of those I wish to kill but don't worry you're not at the top of the list; you're too useful and entertaining at this point. I would certainly hate for you -"

Dorian's words were cut short as his hand shot out as a flame of red and orange as well as inky purple blankness curled around his pale fingers and flew over Nyru's shoulder. For just past him, attempting to sneak up on the Royal Guard unawares, were a trio of demons. Course as Dorian's flames touched them they screamed in agony as their skin melted from their bones as flames ate their flesh. Soon leave only ashes and what little remained of bones was blackened and fragile as snowflakes.

"...to die."

With that, the black magic user gave a mock bow before letting his humanly appearance melt away just like the demons' skin had. Leaving behind the winged evil creature, with red, eyes, talon like claws and pale white hair that matched his skin. Dorian was more then excited to see all their reactions to such a change. That excitement showed on Dorian's face and black lips revealing the hint of fangs that he now bore.

A couple of stray demons infiltrated the entrance of the palace but Nyru was quick to the point, literally. Thrusting his blade through the abdomen of one assailant, he contradicted the witty comment he made to Dorian before scrapping the demon's body off his weapon. Dorian chuckled a villianess laugh stating his intention in a comical way that she din't find very funny. In fact, she had loaded in arrow ready to skewer Dorain's head in case he tried anything out of the ordinary. The dark blood spilled onto the floor, but its not like the view was more uplifting from the outside. Claudia and Isabelle came to an abrupt stop and with distraught expression looking over the causalities on the battlefield. Demon shriveled up after being killed, frozen forever with ugly faces that fallen statues. Guards bodies stacked each other and all of them were inflicted with a huge wound that couldn't have been patched up in enough time. Buildings burned as guards and demons tried to escape through windows, doors, and roof exits and some of them were trapped under the rubble. Southmarch seemed like nothing compared to the devastation of this sight and it took her breath away.

Luckily, Dorain was so sympathetic and shed his human form promoting him to one of the strongest allies on the team. His white locks matched his pale skin, yet his red eyes and black lips stuck out. From the tips of his black claws, a flaming projectile burned these demons alive that were ready to surprise them. Although, that attack was to close for comfort but she didn't have time to scold him when she was eliminating vermin on her own. A demon jumped for Isabelle and the blonde stepped in front of her, held out her loaded bow, and let the demon impale itself on the tip of her arrow. She caught Isabelle last rebuttal and laughed at how dramatic her response from earlier sounded. "That's true. I'll make sure to punish him. But, if its any conciliation, I meant every word I said. Maybe when you return, you can teach me to be less arrogant!" At the end, she launched her arrow with the carcass still on it, and hit another straight in the forehead.

"See ya." Claudia smiled back at the goth as she went on ahead and began mowing down demons left and right. Her adrenaline was keeping her body moving, even though she wanted to fall over from exhaustion. Southmarch took its toll and this battle was worse considering the small amount of resources. She stung one of her special arrows and let it fly into the skies before multiplying into millions of arrows as they hit the ground.

Nyru Statem

From shadows

From shadows

He went on and on about Nyru's demise, and truly it unsettled him. He could feel his bones chilling and almost feeling as fragile as glass when he stood close to Dorian. What had happened to him? He was no longer... human... he thought.

That was when Dorian began another sentence, and Nyru was captivated for a moment just before another moment, when he could have died early. Seeing Dorian flinch suddenly to react to something behind Nyru, the guard flung round to shield himself from Dorian's magic, only to hear the screeches of demons now before him. The visage he saw was revolting, never before had he seen a death quite like it. That was when Dorian finished his sentence and he looked round to find Dorian udnergoing the same transformation.

Now he really did look demonic... and much like Zoltan Maues. Swallowing, Nyru showed no fear as his helm hid his expression, but he was frowning and staring with the most despair he had ever felt before. Tightening his grasp on his blade he refused to reply any further and went on to fight the demons left alive.

Isabelle meanwhile... had finally been able to perhaps crack a smile. "Hm" she said to herself at the last sentence, and just before Claudia slipped away the woman replied "I don't think i coudl help you there" as she thought of herself. She then watched as they went on to battle the demons, she wanted to stay, but she knew i her heart they'll be okay.. for now. And she will be watching very closely, for if anything comes to hurt Nyru, she will castrate source of the agony. It's best this way she thought to herself, not officially saying goodbye to Nyru. He needs to focus, as much as she's angry with him. And on the other hand, if she stays much longer... she dreads to think what the Occult will do, she's probably in enough trouble as it is for staying so much longer, especially to help the Therians. The Occult knows she has a thing for Charles after all. Then the thrum of magic filled her ears as a wall beside her opened to a pitch blackness, the bricks now black, and almost like water. She exhaled, they've been watching her, and now they've summoned her back. Goodbye Nyru... for now she thought, as she stepped through and vanished into the liquid before the portal to Absóluté collapsed around her.

"Hyyah!" Nyru shouted as she brought down his blade to nothing, but above him came falling a giant blade of darkness that pummelled and tor ethrough dozens of demons in a single swing. Many more surrounded him, but his blade fell into its whip form, and he swung it around him as the blade segments broke apart and shot out from him like arrows, impaling the demons around him before flying back to the hilt and becoming a blade again.

They had almost finished.

He needn't see his face to know that Nyru was surprised as well as rattled by his actions and words. Dorian wasn't one to fully play nice, he wouldn't kill them as he had vowed, but being nice wasn't fully in his nature. The like the Cheshire cat, he always liked to play and tease. And that seemed to be having an affect on the Royal Guard, not wanting to push his luck however, Dorian held off and focused on the task at hand.

Slaying demons.

It was out of the corner of his red slitted eye that the dark magicer saw the ripple of a portion ripping space. Isabelle, the other sibling stepping forward and disappearing into it. He glared after her as he had not planned on her disappearing in the middle of a clearly difficult battle.

"What lousy timing on her part...." Dorian grumbled as he slit a demons throat with his claws who had gotten to close for any spell to be quick enough. Blood splattered across his pale white chest, but he didn't bat an eye. Nyru and Claudia both seemed to be doing well on their own and the numbers seeming to dwindle down gradually leaving him both happy and suspicious.

A snake like blade flying through the air and killing its prey, Dorian looked to his 'partner' now. "This seems far to easy...I've barely even had enough to consider it as a warm up." Inwardly though, he was restless and tense, the city was greatly decimated, bodies of friend and foe everywhere...fires and rubble of fallen buildings about...yet it didn't seems has bad as it could have been. "I don't like this...and we're already down your precious gypsy angel and now you're sister abandoned us."

Claudia Vesslia

Isabelle entertained Claudia until she decided it was time to the leave the group so unceremoniously. At least a slap across the face would have meant something to her even if it was filled with hatred. However, like the she stated, she is not a Royal Guard, but a Demon Hunter and her job was far from done. Once the coast was clear, Claudia glanced over her shoulder watching as the Isabelle conjured a shadowy portal. Her body was devoured by the liquidized bricks, but the blonde knew she would return eventually. There was no way she would leave her brother to suffer if something were to befall him. Claudia had his back, but if something was to eliminate her then Nyru would be left alone. There was no way Dorian would protect him, especially with that smug grin he's kept on his face. Her gut twisted and it dawned on her; once he acquired his master, he would automatically turn on them. They would be weakened from combat and so would he, but his chances of endurance were a lot higher than theirs. Claudia would constrain herself for now, however, he was warned that if he did do anything drastic he would pay of it.

Nyru summoned a large dark blade from the gloomy skies and annihilated all the demons in its path with its owner's guidance. The demons flocked around the knight to avenge their comrades only to be killed by Nyru's fragmented blade that whipped through the sea of demons. He got almost all of them in one shot leaving a few survivors, but nothing she couldn't handle. Dorian sliced the throats of all the demons that wondered near him as if they were butter. His red eyes didn't even flicker when he brought them down and afterwards he implied a very good thought. This was a little too easy, not that she was complaining it just didn't feel right.

Claudia stabbed a demon through the skull that came running up to her and kicked another one away from behind. She spun around and shot it in the chest and then turned back to see a felt trampling over corpses towards her. The waved their weapons in the air as if they were a threat, but the way they lined up in a straight way street that stretched for a mile was to ironic. One giant arrow would take them all out in a second and with one time to delay, she bent down on a knee. She stung a shadow arrow that amplified with all the shadows that surrounded her, and once it was large enough she fired it. The arrow swooped through the hoard and a mass of blood flew from the demons severed bodies like confetti. All of them lay on the ground dead.

She stood up and backed up slowly towards her partner looking around for a demon leader to attack them while their in the open. Her heart beat loudly within her chest and she found it hard to sallow knowing that this wasn't over.

Nyru Statem

As they cut through the demons like trash, like hot knives through butter or the critters in a hack'n'slash computer game, Nyru got an overwhelming feeling that this couldn't be it. The beacon was lit only a short while ago, and the city must have seen more than this coming its way. Dorian went on to desecrate several more demons as their blood cursed his breast yet he showed no signs of remorse ro disgust, it was almost like he invited the blood stains and welcomed each death with a sly grin. Claudia did the same, her arrows let loose and massacred so many at a time, her skill and precision was just as good as Nyru's, each of them being the best Royal Guard Declasia has ever had.

As he stepped backwards and felt Claudia beside he remembered he wasn't alone here with Dorian. The monster was still nearby, keeping a close eye to make sure Nyru didn't die for his own sick requirements, btu just then Nyru had to ask "Izzy, where's Isabelle?" his helmet opened to revealed his face and frightened dark blue eyes searched the dead streets for his sister, "I don't remember seeing her leave the palace?!"

Right then a demon shot purple fire that went straight past Nyru and Claudia's face's, it hissed and screeched as it burst into purple flames against a wall that cracked and began to tremble after the hit. It must have been the leader of this attack. And truth be told, far off in the distance, far down the main city street was one, some-three storey tall slender figure. It had four, slender, boney limbs that stretched to the floor from it's waist. It's body was slender and arched with two arms that glowed purple with fire. It's face was covered largely with fabric, but two abyssal eyes stared down from above. Behind this tall enemy, was its remaining army, brutes and critters, undead, some with bows, some with staff's, others mindless. The leader stepped forwards and its long slender leg thrust through a dead guard's head and into the stone ground where it ruptured and gave way beneath the piercing weight.

All we wanted was a chance to live our lives
Now in darkness
Taking everything we want and we will rise

Staring over the lull in battle, the sickening feeling in his gut told him this wasn't all of them; this wasn't the full force. The real battled was about to come, and looking to Nyru as he frantically spoke about his sister, Dorian turned to him.

"Her handlers...bosses called her back to where she belonged." Simple and to the point. Isabelle had gone willingly which left the dark magic user feeling sour about it; she could have protested a little bit least for the sake of getting through this nasty battle to come. Dorian would have said more however, a ball of angry demon fire hissed and crackled as it hit a nearby wall to them.

The once apprentice was rattled a bit by it; it was a hit that had been accurate and meant to be a warning and threat to them. Had the aim been left or right it would have hit Nyru and Claudia or Dorian himself. Wings tense and half unfurled, the dark magician snarled at the air as his red eyes narrowed down the way that the fire had come from.

"We have our answer looks like...this isn't over and we're down two people," he snarled, not liking the odds at this point. Looking back to Nyru; their unofficial leaders, Dorian asked a question he hoped that he had already been debating. "Is it time for your gypsy angel to make her entrance yet?" To fight this monster that he could just see in the distance with his keen and new inhuman sight, they would need her.

Rur'Adika herself was flying toward the city had incredible speeds a normal winged creature wouldn't be normally capable of. It wasn't fast enough to reach them yet, but still she spun and twisted through the air. She tested the security and strength of the wings she bore, letting Zuriel whisper moves and hints in her head that would help her, but it was truly Adi this time.

Even this far, this fair amount of time, her anger and rage was still boiling beneath her skin. Her intent against the dark forces that took Croix from her still as pure and strong as if he had just been killed moments ago. The darkness she felt toward the enemy subconsciously causing her to create a giant flock of crows of her own to follow her; their glowing golden eyes holding the same level of vicious intent in their own eyes.
