Genesis tried to bundle up even tighter, she wasn't used to weather like this either. She preferred the warmth of the sun rays shining through the library window. They still had quite a trek up the mountain before they were in the right place she imagined, although even with her books it wasn't like their were exact coordinates, she only had a vague idea. The idea of splitting up to cover more ground did not seem wise to her in these conditions either.

Cold did not begin to explain the feeling of walking in snow. This was only going to make it more challenging to find the spot. "I believe we have a long way yet but keep your eyes searching. It should be a clear area, perhaps flatter... I am not sure if we will be able to see anything without digging." Genesis sighed, this was definitely going to be the harder of the tasks. Looking up to the sky, she hoped that they were able to finish before nightfall, she couldn't imagine the cold they would experience if they did not.

Kurt listened to what she indicated and searched his memories of anything like she described. There was nothing. Grunting he took a foot and swept a patch of snow. What he wouldn't give to turn into a snow leopard. That wasn't fair to his companion.

"Alright. Let us hope that there are more signs. Or an empty cave on worse case." If it got to it, they would need shelter. However, he had hope it would be a short climb.

Stepping forward, he swept the snow again with his foot, searching for signs and trying to distract his mind from the vicious cold.

Genesis nodded her head and pushed on. None of her powers were particularly useful in this situation. The female tucked her head low, nothing was sticking out to her yet, but maybe they weren't far enough along. She had never spent this much time with someone who was not a fellow squire and it was odd to Genesis, if not awkward.

It seemed like a lot of time had passed when Genesis felt like they were at a good spot to start searching. She began sweeping the snow like the adult had started doing further down. Genesis hoped they found it soon, she felt like she could barely feel her feet anymore. Finally one of her sweeps revealed a shining silver glisten beneath a thick layer of ice. "Look." Genesis pushed aside more snow, "It looks to be a helm..." Genesis said, "I think we've arrived." There was no telling how big this area would be or how difficult it would be to find two swords, but they were in the right spot.

With eyes glued to the ground, he saw mostly snow and the bottom of Genesis's cape. When he had his eyes open, reflexes were fighting him on that point. The longer they walked the less sure he was that they would find anything. Was it possible this wasn't the spot of the battle she spoke of?

Just as he was doubting this journey even more, she spoke. Looking he saw what she was talking about. It was a helm! Walking over, part of him wanted to investigate it further, that part wasn't a part freezing right now. "Would it be so bad to talk the helm as well?" He was curious about it and what it might reveal of the beings that had fought this war she spoke of. What they were doing almost felt like desecration . It wasn't like those that died could mind, and the Guardians sent them on this mission.

It couldn't be worse than what he did to the tree; however. As he placed down his pack he took some of the tighter bound fibers and covered his hands in them. They were not waterproof and it would only help but so long.

Long enough, he found by accident after tripping over a pummel. If his feet weren't so numb, he figured that would have really hurt. In digging around the area, he found two battle scarred swords crossed in a frozen clash. It was impossible, and very uncomfortable given conditions, for him to decide if they were swords of enemies or friends. "Here," he called to her, willing to give her first pick.

Genesis looked up at the male with raised eyes. "It would not hurt..." Genesis responded, though she had no need for another helm personally. "There will be many relics of old on this battlefield. It would be consuming of time and burdensome of body to acquire them all. But do as you please." Genesis shrugged her shoulders and continued on brushing snow from her path.

When she heard the other speak she turned and walked towards him. "Well done." Genesis commended him as she at last pulled out her own sword and began to use it to cut through the ice around the swords. It did not matter to her which one she got, neither would hold a flame to her own flame-shaped sword.

That he agreed with wholeheartedly, "Very much so, and another trek up here would not be wise. I'll take the helm and just the sword." Not only did he not have a helm or such of his own, the ancient item intrigued him.

That would wait until the swords were collected. Taking out his own knife, he helped from the other side, well away from her own sword work. "Very nice sword," He complemented her on the weapon, as from his position he could see it well enough. To carry something like that, he could only believe she knew very well how to use it. Not something he wanted to test either.

With steady work the swords were becoming looser. That he would test. Reaching out he grabbed a froze sword grip with fiber covered hands. Giving a solid tug, he managed to dislodge it and hopefully its mate along with it.

"No, I can not imagine it would be." Genesis could see the draw in taking an item of possible historical significance, but she was focused solely on the mission at hand and less on personal endeavors in order to prove her devoutness to the guardians. "At last." Genesis was relieved as both of the swords came free, she grabbed the second sword, careful with it, unsure of how delicate it might be in its age and frozen state.

The teen turned her golden gaze to the sky, they still had time to make it to a safer spot before the sun dropped too far. That was at least a relief. She gave an approving nod to the male, still uncertain as to what purpose the guardians had in sending others on their mission as well. They were both half-complete with it now, but Genesis was not so certain she would go after the other items with anyone other than a fellow squire. "We should be on our way again." This portion of the journey had been tiring, but it was unsafe to stop now.

Before moving on, Kurt placed the helm and the sword in his pack. without a scabbard he had some he had some concern about the swore damaging his pack. However, he was not large on options and just had to trust the fibers and the sheet would help it survive. With the pack re secured, the angel stood with a slight grunt. It had to be the cold messing with him.

Unwilling to longer any longer than she was he stated, "With luck we'll find shelter on the way down. With the Guardian's' blessing we'll be back on the floating isle before full nightfall." This time, he knew where he was going, down the mountain. He started towards the path they had come, but was unwilling to move too far from his traveling companion. Until he knew she was safe, he was sticking right to her.

Checking to see if he was ready to go, she wasn't going to leave him alone in these frozen mountains, Genesis tucked both her swords away beneath her cloak. The frozen brought a noticeable chill beneath her cloak, but everything was already cold anyways so it made no huge difference. "You seem to have proven your loyalty well." Genesis was surprised, she did not often see that sort of loyalty, even among her own species.

Genesis began down their path, going down was always faster and easier then going up, it also helped that they were not searching for anything. These things made it go faster and Genesis was eager to get home and warm up by a fireplace.

Kurt glanced at her when she spoke to him. It still didn't make much sense to him. Prove his loyalty? Why would anyone be disloyal? While he had no idea how he wound up in the hall of lost souls, he knew for sure only the guardians could have awakened him. Still, he was frozen to the bone and weary of the day so he replied, "Thank you." It was at least obviously a compliment.

He considered returning it by saying how capable she was for a teen, but as soon as he opened his mouth he thought better of it. "The Guardians must be proud to have you as a believer, you are a true credit to them." Smart and fearless, she impressed him for her age but after the little journey, he couldn't rightly classify her as a teen. Age wasn't everything as the adult who has thrown temper tantrums in the past could attest.

The thing he wanted to see most, no snow, came to his vision as a great relief. As they traveled down the snow edge was clear and distinct. It felt like a light at the end of the tunnel.

"One can only hope." Genesis responded, her tone neutral. She believed there was a higher standard for her and the other squires than there was for those who served them normally. Her recent failures still haunted her, even if she was slowly learning how to cope, she still hoped this quest was enough.

It seemed like she wasn't going to feel warmth again until she was home, she realized when she finally stepped onto a dry patch of dirt and felt no relief. Genesis looked to the sky, wondering how they would fare flying now that they were further down. It seemed like it might be alright, this was lower then where they had even been when they had dropped from the sky the first time. Though it was getting later into the evening. "I believe we should attempt to fly," Genesis looked to her side over at the adult for his approval.

The silence between conversation had gotten comfortable. Thinking more on how he would get the next two items, he came up with no answers besides barter. Really, he hoped it was that easy. The debate was to go home or back to the isle.

Getting dark as it was, he decided to go to the isle and return home to drop things off when he was done.

With a nod of agreement he said, "I agree, I believe I will take shelter in the City this night." He told her only so if she was going the same way they might finish traveling together. He hoped to see her safely home before parting ways.

Shifting his pack, he released his wings from their warm position. Flapping hard, he took extra effort but got airborne but he did it. Flying over the side, he took no fear to get off the mountain.

Genesis began flying, the wind beat her around a little bit, but it was not so horrible that she would have to walk, her feet needed a break anyways. It had seemed like icicles had fallen off her wings when she stretched them out. Genesis couldn't help but roll her eyes at that, she could hardly believe it was this cold.

Something about what the other said bothered her. "Take shelter? You mean you do not reside in the City?" Genesis knew that their were many angels and demons that lived down here, but she didn't understand why they would want to. The city had so much more to offer then the land. Then there was the fact that she had met this male while walking through the city so she had thought that he had lived there.

Genesis shook her head, she had become less wary and had let her guard down on their return trip and she still needed to be just as cautious.

"Yes," he responded with eyes forward. "I raise alpaca, they wouldn't do well up in the city." It didn't help he hadn't been in the city much at all so had no idea what it truly had to offer. In the same sense he liked his home and enjoyed the life. Running water and lights would be nice though. He did have a waterfall pretty much in his back yard though. It sort of counted.

From her question he gathered she lived in the city herself. "There are experiences below you just can't get in the City." City was probably safer, better place for children. However, the life down below he couldn't picture living away for more then a few days.

Even no looking down there were expansions of blues and greens of the lively world beneath their wings. It seemed like a bad thing, to live away from it like its fate would matter less and the dangers less apparent. Couldn't be that doom and gloom. He had to shake his head at the thought path before looking ahead. There was a bathhouse up there, the hot water calling his name from all the way back where he was.

"I suppose this is truth," Genesis said with understanding as she flew carefully above the tree's. Her voice sounded more distant now then it had before, but this was only because her focus was elsewhere. "I have spent my whole life in the city, while I do not deny the beauty of the isle, the city has everything I need." Genesis loved being in gardens more then anything, and while the city had a few gardens, they were not like the ones on the isle. However, Genesis' studies and training were more important and all of that took place in the city.

They were getting closer to the floating city, this was relief for Genesis and she could feel the warmth of the fireplaces already. "I am pleased that our common goals brought us together to accomplish this mission." Genesis said formally as she finally touched her foot down in Telrunya City.
