Noah scowled at Al. He was pretty sure that his cheeks were going to be red permanently after this. "It, he, I," and he sputtered to a stop. Laz made another helpful suggestion, not in any way discouraged by the temporary banishment, and Noah groaned. "Are you trying to make me explode from blushing?" he demanded, the question aimed half at the drawer and half at Al.

Al couldn't help as a bit of toothy grin slipped past his defenses, "Mmmmaybe~" His tone was affectionate and almost purred in his throat. Yup. There was no question now that he liked this game. What now, Noah?

Noah jumped a little at the tone of voice and stared at Al, a little wide-eyed. "Do you," he said, and stopped, gathering his courage. "Is that what you ... do you want ...?"

That s**t-eating grin was quickly wiped from his face. You surprised him Noah, he was not expecting something so direct from you. He crossed his legs and cleared his throat. He placed both hands on his knees and looked down at them. He was completely taken aback and withdrew in reply. He didn't know how to answer that. Not right now. The guys had other more pressing matters to address and he could not do anything without approval. Or without some sort of understanding on Noah's part.
He suddenly returned again, much calmer now than before, "I have to ask you something man. It is really important."

Had he been wrong? Was Al just teasing him? Noah scooted back a little as Al drew away from him. Had he just made a huge mistake? He had, hadn't he.
NOAH, Laz said.
Just ... just shut up a little while. "What is it?" Noah asked, in a very small voice.

"Do you trust me?" It seemed a bit harmless, but the reality was this question was just the tip of the iceberg.

Al raised a brow, his thoughts reeling with disbelief at how fast that answer came. He didn't really believe it, he was not sure Noah knew exactly what the details to that answer detailed.
He hopped up from the chair to stand against the edge of Noah's bed. "Man, I mean like," he slumped to sit on the edge. "Do you trust me about Rep?" Getting further along this massive chunk of ice. So much more still waited below the dark concealing waters.

"What?" Noah blinked at Al, his thoughts derailed. What did that have to do with anything now? "I don't get it, what about him?" He scooted a little closer, giving Al a bewildered look.

"I mean. He is important to me man. He looks out for me and just..," he limply shrugged a shoulder. "I need his approval and I need you two to not argue?" He lifted his head to peer searchingly at Noah's face. "Nothing can happen if he doesn't clear it first." Al was aware, distantly, that Rep would never approve it either.

"Um ... for that, too?" Noah peered at Al, somewhere between confused and embarrassed. "But you're, you're not, like, his kid or anything ... " He trailed off, looking a little worried.

"I kind of am," Al stated while rubbing the back of his head. He was genuinely uncertain how to describe it and looked sheepish even trying. "I mean, he like. Is bigger and stronger than me and looks out for my well being. All he asks of me is to follow the rules he sets forth and not talk back. Sounds kinda like a..," he just trailed off into dead silence. There was a bit of a pause before he relaxed, smiling at Noah again. "Anyway, I just sorta hafta figure out a way to ask is all."

"O-okay ... " Noah fidgeted, giving Al a look that was still puzzled, but not arguing further. It sounded like Rep was kind of like a father to Al, or maybe a big brother, and Noah guessed he could understand that, sort of. He'd always been a little suspicious of his sisters' dates, protective of his family, even if he was younger and not particularly intimidating.
He heaved a deep sigh, and his hold on the pillow shifted again, threateningly. "Not fair to tease me then," he muttered.

Al frowned as he watched Noah reposition on his hapless pillowy prey. He was still sitting on the edge of the bed and scoot closer to throw an arm around him. "Tease you? I did no such thing?" His eyebrows were high on his forehead and his face tilted downward in a look of pure innocence.
