Twilight couldn't shake the idea of him in a frilly dress. Surely Fi would make him something far more elegant, but it would be absolutely adorable to see either way.

She paused, looking at him. "It's rough, but it'll happen before you even notice it." Twilight nodded, she had made it happen for her. But she also knew that other pae had to let the adjustment happen naturally.

"But wait, if you didn't bring anything with you..." Twilight blinked, trying to connect the dots. She was normally so much quicker than this. What was wrong with her? "Are you talking about your friends?" The mare asked, curious.

"I believe you," It was just his first day in the tree, it felt very much like the world had changed overnight. It wasn't a true assessment, the Princesses had lead the brave charge here well before he left. The change in leadership was still large. "I am sure once I meet him it will feel more normal." It would have to be. Just one day at a time, one step at a time.

Her question caused him to give a warm chuckle and another small squeeze to the hand, "Exactly, beloved old friends. If you will forgive the presumptuous statement, a treasured new one." Looking into her eyes when he said that, he fully meant it. He had met her just this day, but he already enjoyed being around her. She was a bright young mare with a lovely smile and just made him feel at ease. The feeling of magic around him didn't even bother him as much as it usually did. That could be acclimatizing, or the calming affect of the bright young lady. He enjoyed her personality, listening to her talk and share what she knew.

"It likely will." She nodded, wondering if it really would work that way. Maybe it would, Twilight wasn't certain. But she wasn't going to voice that fear aloud. There was no reason to start to worry him over something not that serious. It wouldn't be a terrible thing. At least, not yet. Twilight resigned herself to stressing about it when he wasn't around.

"It's only a true statement Prince Everfree." The mare looked up at him. She was a treasured friend? The thought made her all giddy inside. "You know, we're pretty close to my room. Would you like to see it?" Twilight asked, bouncing. They were friends. She'd seen his room, why shouldn't he see hers?

Everfree smiled warmly down at Twilight thrilled that he hadn't been too presumptuous. He felt lucky he could call her a friend, certainly treasured her company. Giving her hand another small squeeze he took the invitation gratefully, "I would love to see your room. Must be as bright and lovely as its owner." A room was a reflection of the one who inhabited it, maybe thats part of why she was so sad there was nothing in his?

He hoped that he'd remember where it was after she showed it to him. The idea that he could find her again, or know where to drop off any books he may find, was a welcomed on.

Twilight grinned, happy to have hold of his hand. "It's not too far away. Just up here really." She pulled his arm leading him towards the space she called hers.

It was just a modest affair. There wasn't much in the way of decoration in it. She had a perch for her friend, an owl. There was a small shelf which held scarce few papers. She hadn't been able to bring too many with her, having limited space and all that. What she had brought was precious though. Somehow, she had managed to get her hands on a book written by Starswirl The Bearded. That had been so important to her, Twilight wanted to keep it no matter what.

"I know it's not much, but it's mine and I love it." She blushed, a little embarrassed. She couldn't figure out why either. It was strange. There was no reason to be embarrassed at showing a new friend where she lived.

Without resistance, Everfree followed to the tugging of his hand. He noted the number of rooms between his door towards hers. If he had trouble finding it in the future at least he'd remember the number.

Her room surprised him, he expected may more color to it. The book and papers didn't surprise him one bit. What did strike him was it seemed like there should be more books for one pony the enjoyed reading. As his brown eyes scanned they fell on the perch a moment before finishing the scan. "You have a lovely room," As he looked back to the faun he added, "Plenty of room for more books by my observation." In addition he added a playful smile. If he ever needed a gift for her, wondering if she had the title would not be a problem.

"I had to leave my library in Equestria. There was only so much room, I couldn't take everything." She frowned, thinking of all the books she'd left. "There are so few books here I didn't want to keep them without permission, so my shelves are really bare." Twilight looked up at the book shelves. She'd had so very many in Ponyville, it was hard for her to remember that there weren't that many to be had here. "But the ones I have, I treasure." Twilight finished with a nod. She did treasure them. Almost as much as her friends. No close calls there, she'd pick friends over books almost any day. Except since the move. She seemed to be pretty well occupied with trying to learn about this strange new land.

"Soooo... Now what?"

It wasn't his intention to make her sad and he tried to help, "They won't stay that way, I am sure. Books have a way of falling into the right hands. You have room for so many new stories." Knowledge didn't just stop, writing didn't just stop, he'd just have to find a way to help find where it went. Surely there was someone with writing talent and ideas. Maybe a faun who had already been here would know where the past was hidden. In that moment he made the note to ask the Chief about it.

Speaking of the chief. Hoping to keep as much of her time as he could, Everfree asked her, "Would you continue to show me around? I'd like to know where the chief's office is, and maybe where they find food around here, if you'd join me?"

Twilight smiled, looking up at him. He was right. "I hope you're right Prince Everfree." And she did. Her shelves would be happy and whole once again. Packed to bursting with books of all sorts and kinds. Everything she could possibly hope to read and more. But, knowing Twilight, she'd probably have read them all twice before they actually went up on the shelve.

"Sure, but I don't know where much is right now. I've really just been concentrating on learning as much as I could through books." Twilight returned, admittedly, not very good with knowing much of anything in the tree. She did know where to find meals if she needed them, but that was about it. "I'd love to join you." The fauness grinned, squeezing his hand lightly.

Prince Everfree wondered about his title after hearing her say it again. He had always been Prince Everfree as long as he has had a name. While he could never imagine calling the Princesses anything but, even he would call them by their given names at times. As he considered it, he looked to the shelves again. Oh he was right, he'd make that true. His mind was set on helping, and bringing as smile to her face.

With a smile he said, "Then let us go find out, a tree adventure." May be a repetitively small one but as he'd take the time of hers that she could spare. Glancing to the door, the prince was just happy his stomach hadn't decided to make itself known. Since his journey here began he couldn't remember eating and it was catching up to him.

"I am glad, a meal so much nicer with great company." He would know, it had been ages since he had eaten with another pony.

And so, they went to lunch and enjoyed it greatly. They talked, got to know one another better, and had a generally good time. The two friends parted ways, almost reluctantly, enjoying the meaning of friendship and happy to know they'd meet again
