I await the crying that will result when the anime finally releases. You know just as well as I do it's going to happen. People were doing it just over FANART alone. And nevermind the delays.

Waiting for dem feels. crying

Do you mean officially released fanart or just fanart of Sailor Moon in general?

Fanart in general. People flipped at it, some claiming that it WAS the new art style, despite having no sources to back up the claim. Then when the matter was looked into, it was just fanart. Nothing but fanart.

Nearly as bad as the Sonic fanbase. You should see what that fanbase is flipping for now. I'll give you a hint: A hedgehog's arms are now a different hue, for one of the things they're flipping out over.

Okayyy, I think I know what art you're talking about. Those beautifully drawn, bright, slightly more manga-style ones that came out like a year ago on deviantArt? (Not the best description, but if you know you know.)

And what? xD That sounds silly. So what if his arms are a little different?

Fanbases are a weird bunch. Remember TMNT? Remember the iteration that shows on Nick as of 2012? Members of that fanbase got outraged over the Turtles having a THIRD TOE. No joke.

Some fanbases will find the pettiest thing to get outraged over.

I thought they looked funny! Aside from the terrible CGI animation.
I don't like the new TMNT, the few episodes I've seen.

To each their own, but if a reason sounds petty and ridiculous, most of us will call out the people spouting those reasons.

Still, we need to be on the lookout for the bawling the fans will do up until the release, and what crying they'll do after the release. Also, to everyone who wants the manga on a TV Screen, I honestly don't think that's going to be the case. While the manga got a fairly recent re-release in terms of the market, it's not as accessible to new fans as a mix of new and old material. Plus, each iteration of Sailor Moon has been different in some way, shape, or form. Be it the manga, anime, PGSM, or the musicals.

I almost began forming a rant using another anime series that got numerous re-releases to the point of rebooting it being a BAD idea, and how that'd compare to Sailor Moon's fairly quiet years after Stars.

(D: I forgot to respond!)
I think everyone is expecting so much of this remake just because twenty years have passed. Technology is better, the fanbase is still strong, and Naoko's crew has promised that the story will follow the manga better.
A lot of shiny new opportunities, a lot of whiny new fans? xD

Eh, Idk. It's interesting at times to have so many variations because people can choose what they want to like, but consistency is also always nice. What was that rant you were mentioning? Got any points you can scrounge up?

The short version is that Dragonball, Z specifically, has had so many re-releases to the point where the story is VERY set in stone. Sailor Moon, if you go into a full blown retrospective of the franchise, is much more variable in all its iterations. This is why I theorize that in its own way, this new anime will be different from the manga. I'd welcome that, no less.

I might be biased, though, since Mega Man has had what, 4 or 5 different series of its own? And some of them with variable iterations within said series.

Okay, I see what you mean. 3nodding Sailor Moon has more flexibility with that in mind. Keeps us on our toes~

Also, I only ever saw Megaman NT Warrior, but it was gooood... at least when I was a child, lol.

You should see the Archie run of Mega Man comics. Based on Classic Mega Man (with a Mega Man X story upcoming), which is actually VERY good. Almost as if we got an adaptation of the various game tie-in manga from overseas. With some original spins. 3nodding

Yes, and the various Sonic comics as well.

That's awesome. I've always loved their comics. For a while, I was hooked on their revision of Sabrina the Teenage Witch. I'm not surprised Megaman is good.

You missed a pretty cool crossover event with Sonic and MegaMan. Good thing for the trades, eh? Eggman and Wily made an awesome team.

Sounds like you have good taste. 3nodding We'll have to agree to disagree on the 2012 Turtles though.

Meanwhile, we'll make sure to mock fanbases that get all riled up over the most petty of crap. twisted
