Clearly there was nothing more classy than crackers and pop! Her grin softening into a smile, she lifted her can and clinked it against his in a toast. "Cheers! I'm glad to be back." Tipping the can back against her mouth, she took a sip, only to cringe and pull away a second after.
"Ow," She croaked, following it up with a laugh, "I...I haven't had anything carbonated for a while, so I've forgotten how much it burns." Which was a lot, apparently. Shaking her head, she moved to bite into a cracker when something struck her--something very important.
"I missed your birthday." She whispered suddenly, and she said it was so much horror that it sounded like the world was about to end.

Otto almost choked on his pop as Eva croaked over hers, covering his mouth to stifle a laugh. "No glamour where you were, huh?" He said after managing to swallow his drink. Otto looked up, biting into his own cracker as Eva seemed to have some sort of revelation. "Huh? Oh... yeah." He finished his cracker and shrugged. "S'alight. Nevada brought me chocolate tequila and we got drunk and sick off candy. It was the best and worst idea." His stomach did not like him the next morning. He smirked though, looking her dead in the eyes. "Although.... I'm not against any belated gifts you wanna give me. Scalp massage, back rubs, change for vending machines.." He listed off, mostly teasing. "Don't actually worry about it. Christmas is comin'. If you ain't too busy, all I really want is to spend some of the day with you."

Despite Otto's reassurance, Eva still looked faintly (..."faintly") bothered, her brows knit together and her lips curved into a big frown. There was no way that she could have requested to pop back for a day from her mission, but...surely she could have at least thought to get a present way in advanced and ask someone to deliver it for her on the day if she was gone.
Alas, it was already too late. A small smile touched her lips when he asked to spend some time with her, and she pat the crumbs off of her hands before reaching to the side to ruffle his blond hair. "Of course, silly! Maybe as a belated present, for one day, I'll do whatever you want." Cleaning, cooking (why he'd ever want Eva cooking was questionable though), calling him "his royal highness"--those were all free game.
Of course, she would have liked to get him a physical gift too, just as an extra bonus, but...hm. That was something she'd have to think on.

"Anything I want?" Tempting. Otto didn't elaborate, lest his imagination get the better of him. "Turning this around, isn't your Birthday soon? You refused to tell me the date last year, but I remember celebratin' it."
He stared long and hard at her, spreading peanut butter on a cracker or two while he did. "So? When is it?"

Eva opened her mouth at the mention of her birthday to protest that it wasn't for a while yet--an instinct, really--only to freeze when she realized that...well, to be fair, it really wasn't for a while yet...
...Because it had already passed.
How in God's name had she missed her own birthday again? First last year, and now this year! Suddenly looking faintly embarrassed, Eva ducked her head, reaching down to tug her scarf up over her mouth. When she spoke, her voice was soft and muffled by the fabric, but still (unfortunately for her) rather audible.
"About...a month ago, yeah."

Woah, so they'd missed hers as well?
"See? Now you ain't allowed to feel bad about missing mine." His head tilted and brows lifted, taking a bite of his cracker. "Right?" He even smiled. It was cute when she got embarrassed. It didn't happen very often, since she was usually the one teasing him into blushing.

"I suppose," She answered after a moment of thought, more distracted by Otto's sudden smile than anything else, "I suppose that Christmas celebrations will have to make up for both of our missed birthdays then." Maybe she could whip up some ingredients and bake them both a giant belated birthday cake!
...A cake that hopefully wouldn't turn out lethal!
Perhaps it was time to dust off those old cookbooks that Lex had given her last Christmas and take a good look at what the recipes said. So long as she followed them carefully, the chance of killing herself or Otto were (hopefully) pretty low.
After polishing off a cracker, Eva pat off her hands. "What are your favourite cake flavours anyways, Puppy?"

"That sounds like a plan." Celebrating together for both their birthdays as well as Christmas. That sounded like the most fun. Now he just needed to find a way to make her a gift. There was no access to the outside world this time around. Troubling. Otto didn't have any craft skills in the least. But he had to give her something...
"Chocolate." He answered almost too quickly. "The best flavour there is."

Eva laughed--she should have known. "We're definitely in agreement there," She confessed, lips curving into a smile, "There's no flavour better than chocolate." Though in her mind, both strawberry and vanilla were close seconds. She just loved the classics the best.
But hey, a chocolate cake was totally doable! A quick skim through her cookbooks had revealed that there were about ten thousand ways to make chocolate cakes, so the only thing she would have to do is narrow it down somehow. That being said, perhaps it would be more fun if...
"Hey Puuuuppy, how are your baking skills?"

Otto smirked. They both agreed that Chocolate was on top when it came to cakes. This pleased him to know. "Baking?" He furrowed his brows, on board with Eva's train of thought now. She wanted to bake them a cake, it seemed. But he knew her skills were... well. If her decorating had any say in her cooking skills, they'd both end up in the bathroom all Christmas. "I've never really cooked before. I can't even fry an egg." Unless you wanted it black.

Well then, it looked like both of them were kind of newbies at this baking and cooking thing. At least that meant that they could suffer learn together, right?
...Riiiiight?
Beaming at him, Eva propped her head up in her hands and stared at him with doe eyes. "That's okay. You'll still help me though, yes?" Because if they unintentionally poisoned people (or each other), then they were in this together.

Otto stared back, feeling like he probably had no choice in this. If he did, he risked disappointing Eva in the process. "Yes." He agreed, taking another cracker with peanut butter into his mouth. "We get to eat the cake batter from the bottom of the bowl, right?" Assuming it wasn't poison. He was also maybe talking with his mouth full. Manners. "What'll we decorate like?" Since it was a Joint-Birthday-And-Also-Christmas cake.

"Of course we get to eat all the extra cake batter!" Eva laughed, lips pulled into a grin. It was the best part, after all--who could honestly just let all the chocolatey goodness go to waste? That was, assuming that what they made really was chocolatey goodness, and not some gross, floury, pasty substance...
...But hey. How hard was it to make a cake?
Otto brought up a good question though. Frowning, Eva crossed her arms over her chest, tapping her right upper arm with her left pointer finger.. "Oh, um. Well...first off, for colors, I guess we can use green and red, and then our favourite colors?" Surely it wouldn't clash that much, right...?

"May as well make it a rainbow cake with that many colours." Otto replied sarcastically. He realized after he'd said it that Eva might actually enjoy a rainbow cake.

"A rainbow cake it is!" The woman declared, apparently taking his sarcastic suggestion completely seriously. To be fair, a rainbow cake would be kind of neat, right? If they could pull it off that was, though considering it was Eva and Otto here, their decorating would probably just consist of messily piping and slathering icing on until it looked unappetizing.
...So long as it looked good, Eva guessed.
"...You don't actually have any flour and stuff in here, do you?"
