Aelius seems to be trying to do his best to partake in the release of tension, doing his best to thoroughly cuddle against Unwanted. It doesn't take long before he takes to grooming him, trying to at least comfort the younger.
She doesn't even care how covered in soot and dust she's going to end up, she just wants to be as close to him as she can at the moment. As soon as he's pulled her tight into his lap her arms are tight around him in return. She would give anything just to make the whole thing go away, and she feels foolish for every last thing she's said. She can only bury her face into him and cry, trying so desperately not to. She doesn't want him to see her like this, but for once it's completely unavoidable. "I'm so sorry, it's all my fault, I've completely buggered everything and god, I love you so much I'm so sorry..."
It takes a good long while before she can breathe semi normally again, reduced to the occasional whimper and sniffle as she continues to hold tight onto him. Everything just seems so hazy, and all she wants to do is continue to tell him she's sorry and that she loves him.

There are tears enough shed on both sides that eventually even Last runs out of both breath and of voice, though he continues to hold her, and pet her hair. He has professed his love and apologized for the whole thing more times then he can count, until the words seem to run out completely. By the time he can breathe again, his eyes are red and his throat is sore, and hers aren't the only sniffles. It don't matter that he's a man and he oughtn't cry; he couldn't've helped it, not when she was goin' on like that.
And just holding her helps, and knowing that she ain't going to push him away because his brother's a psychotic a*****e.
"Ghastly showed up at the tavern," he says finally, in a more normal tone of voice. "An' he were just watchin' us, just lookin', and we din't have no ider why. First, he got nervous, 'cause Ghastly, he'd gotten mad at us, said we should just leave fer awhile. Only when we tried to he stopped us, sed we hadta stay at the tavern. First asked why, an' Ghastly says it weren't none've our business, and we knowed something was wrong. First got real mad, and Welly, she musta been mad too, 'cause she dropped a lit candle on Ghas', and First, he started shoutin' that we hadta run, and we did."

It doesn't help that she might have tightened her grip on him the slightest bit more when they both run out of words. She's lost track of how long it's been, and frankly doesn't care. At the least no one has walked through her door to find her a mess in the arms of her lover on the floor, and for that she's thankful.
When he finally does speak, he listens quietly, closing her eyes as she buries her face again into his shoulder, trying to steady her own breathing further. She knows he's due an explanation, and he's already been honest with her...
"Your brother wrote to me to ask about my qualifications for marriage." She finally admits after a long while, shifting slightly in his arms. "I had the feeling he didn't want a word of it reaching anyone else, especially when he said my reply would be personally delivered to him by Ghastly. I-I wasn't expecting a visit though. But...I think I've managed to ruin anything there, huh?" She's quiet for a few more moments, before breathing deeply again. "Did First manage to get away okay?"

" .. don't give a damn if you have," he mutters, and tightens his own grip until it makes him breathless, and he must loosen his white-knuckled hold on her. "Don't need no permission from him." Taking a deep breath he draws back just enough to look at her, running his fingers along her cheek; he looks tired now, and surprisingly sad.
"It ain't your fault, I promise. Jay, he's always been like that. He's a .. a .. man-ip-ula-tive basterd, alwuz plannin', alwuz up t'sommat. Windin' folk up like he done us is what he does fer fun. It ain't yer fault." He says it a second time more firmly, and if his voice cracks a little that hopefully does not much detract from his determination that this is the truth. "Y'couldn't've knowed, I ought've toldja, 'cause we knowed how he is."
As to his sibling, he shakes his head. "I dunno if First got loose. Prolly. He hadta go check on Raj .." Trailing off, he takes a deep breath and launches into another confession of his own. "Ghas', he came t'us the other day, askin' questions. 'bout you. 'bout Raj. We knowed somethin' hadta be up, 'cause he were real mad, Ghas' were, but we didn't nivir think Jay'd actually come all the way here. First, he prolly goneta check on Raj."

There's so much she wants to say, especially given how much what Jacob said still hurts. She's embarrassed by how her cheeks are stained with tears and how her own eyes are red, and tries to avoid meeting his eyes, but when she does her heart almost breaks. "I love you so much, you know that? I don't know what I'd do if I lost you." At the least Jacob's awakened a fear in her. She's always assumed the twins could handle themselves... But now...
"I'm the one who went behind your back with all this." She murmurs back pressing her cheek against his fingers, trying to just show him in any way how sorry she is. "I'm so sorry I should have told you..."
For a second she worries about Raj as well, but she knows the woman's far stronger than she is. If anyone could stand up against Jacob it would be the gypsy. "About the weapons that went missing right?" She doesn't even consider this is something she's not supposed to know about, though runs a hand through his hair, trying to soothe him in the same manner. "You can blame me if he goes after Raj. I'm the one who dropped her name when he asked about it."

He kisses her, maybe for her sake, maybe for his, it's hard to tell. He's gonna be shaking for weeks, thinking of how scared she'd looked, how scared he'd been, wondering if she were ever going to take him back now that she knew how crazy his family really was. Taking another deep breath he presses her back against his shoulder, hand lifting to pet her hair again, over and over, like he'd been doing earlier.
"Nu-uh, don't e'en think that. Ain't nobody's fault. Jay, he already knowed about her, 'fore either of us said anything. He's like that, alwuz been. An' .. yeah, 'bout that crate First slipped to Raj, but I'm thinkin' it's more 'bout the fact we ain't been listenin' so well to him lately."
"Jest blame him fer all've it. S'what I'mma do." He tries out a small smile -- she will be able to hear it in his voice -- just to see if he can manage it.

Either way, it was at the least something she needed. Nothing ever seems to stop the way it just warms her up, and she doubts it'll ever stop being this nice. She settles back against his shoulder, though not before kissing his cheek softly. She loves him, she really does, and there's nothing she wouldn't give for the both of them to just feel better. If there was any little bit of doubt that she'd stay with him, she seems to do her best at washing it away. "I'd gladly live the rest of my life with you regardless of what anyone thinks." She mutters, closing her eyes again as he comforts her.
She hums the slightest, just to confirm she's heard him as she cuddles against him. Hopefully things would work out well, in their favor, and they wouldn't end up on the floor of her smithy like this again. She still feels awful about what trouble she's caused, despite his assurances otherwise. For a brief moment she considers getting back to work, but it just doesn't sound like a good idea, and frankly..
"You won't leave me alone for today, will you?" She breathes. She doesn't want to even think of having to face Jacob again, and she just feels safer with him here. "I don't want to be alone..."

"Ain't nobody could pull me off," he promises, with a tone of voice which suggests a great deal of trouble for anybody that'd try. "Ain't got nowhere to go as important as bein' here with you." Finally, finally he is able to loosen his grip, but just so much as it's required to lift them both off the floor. He don't really let go of her -- he more carries her -- crossing the shop until he can set them both down again more comfortably. After all, they'll both be more comfortable if they got something to lean back against, right?
And what's more comfortable to lean against then a pair of Guardians? Although Unwanted snorts once, he doesn't really seem to mind, as such, and snuffles at his Chosen's hair with something like a sigh. The final bit of tension still in his shoulders leaves Last as he does so, keeping his arms cozily around Rosalie.

It's comforting to know she won't have to worry at least for today. There's a sincere doubt in the smith's mind that she could get back to working. Not now, not after what was borderline traumatic. There's a noise of surprise that rises from her throat when he picks her up, and she clings even more o his shoulders, not used to this in the slightest. Her cheeks flush red rather quickly, though soon they settle on the ground again.
Aelius glances up, having been resting his head upon Unwanted, and nuzzles Rosalie's hand when she reaches out to him. Soon enough though she's just content to be held and hold on to him in return, though her grip gets progressively looser the longer she relaxes.
