How could he have done that to her for so long? She just didn't get it. She wondered if that was what he had always done. He'd always flinched away from her, always been a little distant. She'd thought that was just how he was, and that was something that was fine. But what if it had all been like this was? His flinching, his distancing... because she was nothing more than something to used? Just how big of a fool was she?

There was a lot about him that Sherry didn't know, and perhaps, would never know if he had his way. But seeing as how he had hurt her time after time, some accidentally, some purposefully, and yet she still never gave up on him, he had to wonder if he was doing the right thing. Perhaps he would find out sometime soon.
Gritting his teeth, he stabbed the Titan with both daggers, letting them sink in a little as the Titan thrashed and roared. Hopefully Sherry got the message.

Sherry was paying attention, so she did indeed notice the titan's reaction. That was her signal to run.
She just had to get the gear first.

Luckily, she'd had plenty of practice, and it didn't take her too long to get her gear and start running. She was a pretty good judge of just how far she had to go, and she made a point of getting that far as fast as she could. She was not in the mood for shenanigans. Exactly one time she looked over her shoulder, before slowing to a stop. She didn't want to seem concerned about Jake, or at least overly so. Stupid, lying jerk. Once she stopped however, she did turn to see how he was faring. Stupid her for caring. HP: 30/50 -CLEAR

Seeing Sherry make it out of the blast radius gave him relief. Now it was his turn. He just hoped she didn't punch his lights out afterwards.

Sherry didn't take her eyes off of Jake. Now that she was safe, staring would no put her in immediate peril. She wanted to hit him, to slap him, to yell and cuss and cry. The stupid jerk. All of it, a lie and he was arrogant enough to sit up on that titan and tell her to stop hurting herself. Crap, she was going to cry. Armagnac was calling for violence, but Sherry held back on that. She was sad, and mad at herself as much as at him. Foolish. "How long were you planning to lie to me?" [A.V.] Sorry about the wait. xD Got distracted and then fell asleep. >_>;;

Jake was already taking off his harness, and let it drop to the ground, shoving his hands into his pocket. "...sometime before the two weeks were up."

At least it wasn't forever. That would have been horrible. "And after that?" She fumbled with her own gear. At least he was done hunting for the day.

Forever wasn't a practical term for hunters anyways. "After that..." He cast his gaze downwards, shoulders hunched. "I haven't thought that far."

Sherry blinked more tears out of her eyes while her mind turned that answer over a few times. "Of course not. You don't know what use I might be to you after it's all said and done."
Part of her wanted to hit him, like it would somehow make him understand what she felt like inside. The fact that anger was hot and filling didn't make it any better, the stark contrast to the cold emptiness was almost welcome. But she couldn't hit him. That would mean touching him. And she wanted to hug him more than anything. But she couldn't. That comfort was no longer there.
"Was it all really one great big lie? The whole time?"

"That's not what I..." He looked up again, caught her expression, and turned away. He wanted to comfort her, but it was his fault she felt this way. Why didn't he just tell her the truth? If she had known, then perhaps...
"I..." He shifted uncomfortable, unsure of how to answer.

Sherry sighed and sniffed and wiped at her cheek. Darn thing was wet. She was tired and hurt and all kinds of confused. Mostly just hurt; sad and angry and empty and numb. At least there had been no anger when he'd forgotten her.
"It's not? How is it not?" She closed her eyes, sniffing again. She was sick of crying, in front of him, because of him, and just in general. Shaking her head, she looked at him again. He looked uncomfortable. Good, he should. "You meant a lot to me. I would have done anything for you. At least you were smart enough to pick up on that. But I'm worth a hell of a lot more than the band-aids I carry, at least off the battlefield."
With another sigh, she began to gather her things. She didn't want to stand here crying any longer. "You should have told me a long time ago."

"I just wish..." She paused, looking at him. Why did it hurt so much? Why did she let it hurt so much? After everything, this was where they ended up?
The last of her things gathered, Sherry turned to walk away. She needed to leave. She needed time to cry and be angry and be sad. Time to think. "I hope you find your happiness Jake. And you had better get Chester back."
And then she left, fingers gripping her gear far tighter than they should have. The stupid thing was, she hoped he'd stop her from leaving. She was just a fool.

Unfortunately, Sherry wouldn't get her wish, as he only stood there, watching silently as she turned to leave. Part of him wanted to stop her, to make sure she didn't end up doing anything stupid, but she had her weapon to stop her, right? Besides, it wasn't like he could do anything...
"... And you too. I hope you find him." With a sigh, he turned, and walked away silently, not glancing back.
