Telma might have been a little tempted to taste the gingerbread building but thought against it as that shiny stuff looked not so great even if it looked really good. As she was just so excited but at least had some sense. But once inside the Failed Firebird's wings were twiching with so much excitement as it smelled so good inside the room. Quietly as she could she listened to what the professor was telling them. Well baking was a new one on her but then most things right now were. So she watched a few other people in the room before starting to mix her own gingerbread. Well her first try didn't go so well as the bowl was no longer on the table and she did hope that it didn't hit anyone as that would be something she didn't want happening.

Ok the first had been not so great but that didn't get Telma down as she thought it would only get better from here out. Getting more ingredients to see if this time it would go a better than the last time.
Wow I think she was going to blame this try on her excitement as the bowl once more flew out of her hands as she attempted to mix the batter and this time she saw the professo smiling still but she didn't want to do that again if she could. As practice does make perfect Telma thought to herself even if right now she was just making bowls fly.

Ok this time Telma keep her eyes on her bowl as she concentrated on mixing the batter as she didn't want another flying bowl and this time hitting someone with it. Oh she was still really excited but Telma wanted to do this as close to right and not get it messed up because of being really excited.
It would seam that practice did this time had been a good thing as the bowl didn't go flying as Telma mixed the batter. Looking down at the batter when she thought a good time to stop mixing it, the batter look pretty good as it was glistening at the edges and had no lumps at all. A third time must have been the charm, Telma thought as her wings russled a little in excitement and couldn't wait for the next part.

Mathias was apparently determined to do all of the things, despite his usual unwillingness to do any of the things.
He entered the gingerbread structure and awaited instructions, stepping up to his bowl and beginning to mix.
....Was this good enough? It was a bit lumpy....
Better keep going.

This batter still wasn't looking all that great. The wolptertinger paused for a moment, cocking his head to the side, ears twitching atop his head a little worriedly. What if he couldn't get it to look like it was meant to? He glanced around at the others, as discreetly as possible, noting that many of them had much smoother looking batter then his own.
He kicked mixing, with perhaps a little more fervor now.

The enthusiasm with which he continued to mix up his batter proved to be quite fruitful, as all of the lumps began to smooth away, the mixture looking much better then it had previously.
Not wishing to push his luck too far, or over mix as he heard the teacher say could happen if he wasn't careful, the wolpertinger set down his spoon, a small smile twitching at his lips.
He wasn't so bad at this stuff as he thought he would be, after all!

Now, it wasn't fair to say that Molan was frolicking in the 'joy' of the holiday, but the snow that came with it? Oh, that was right up his alley. His choice of clothing was still as it normally was, but he was one of the few, or many, who couldn't get enough of the cold. Which meant that going into a class wasn't that high up his alley, but it was a curious house. And the building smelled... strange. Spicy... but sweet? He'd entered it to the greeting of the oddly chipper young women... and had she muttered something under her breath? He couldn't quite catch it.
Regardless, apparently they'd be cooking some gingerbread house things. Well, baking wasn't all bad and... he did want to improve at it. Sadly, there was a problem. There was a certain demon nearby he didn't want to have see if he messed up, but then again... Andrew looked a bit too bundled up for it to matter?
Well.. he could try it. Though the spices were really bothering his nose a bit.
So upon gathering his bowl and ingredients he quickly began stirring at it, trying to make use of what he had picked up from Xiu's lessons... which didn't seem to be doing good. His batter looked a mess. Well then... time to stir some more.

More stiring wasn't seeming to help a lot. There were lumps all over the place, and while it was still on the table... that was a mess.
No. This wouldn't do at all. He had to get this right. the perfectionist in him told him so. And because Andrew's smug face wasn't baout to be tolerated. BACK TO STIRRING!

Thankfully, as he continued to work at the ingredients in the bowl they did seem to be thinning out into some semblance closer to... batter. Well it wasn't lumpy and messy anymore, there was almost a sheen to it? Maybe just a little bit.
That. That would be acceptable. This was a definite improvement and with a nod the boil set his bowl forward as a sign of being ready. He could manage this much. And learn something about not burning things in the process hopefully.

Of all of the new buildings and rooms made especially for the exchange professors, this one definitely took the cake with its glitter and sparkles. Actually, once he got closer, he realized it was gingerbread and sugar. Amazing. Could he take pictures of this for future reference? The giggles and bells emanating inside the building unsettled TK, and he was almost tempted to walk past, but the sign clearly indicated it would be another class. He was too curious. He kept walking all the way into the room, following the smell of something sweet and delicious and spicy.
He squinted his eyes as he took in the professor’s appearance. Definitely a fairy, but definitely not Halloween variety. His expression did not relent as he could have sworn the professor was muttering something under her breath, but had no clue what. Suspicious. But he took a spoon and bowl anyways. What’s the worst that could go wrong, right?
First try and the batter was looking pretty nice. That wasn't so bad.

Was that Molan over there He looked... normal. The dumb frost demon was probably enjoying the snow. Though he seemed to have problems stirring. that brought a small smile to his face as he pulled his jacket closer to himself during the wait. Even inside felt a little too cold. Maybe he could crawl up inside the oven for a while. He took a bit of his dough and started playing with it, letting it cook in his hands slightly. Was it safe to eat? He wasn't sure, but it sure smelled good. The cinnamon reminded him of cookies. Then again the house looked good enough to eat too. Oh look the fox was done. It didn't look half bad. Maybe it would be edible. Andrew had to wonder why the fox was here making things warm. He wouldn't have much to do with the finished produce... right? Maybe he could eat it.

Lan arrived wrapped in furs.
And determined to learn her a thing or two about this joy. About Christmas... and how she might use it as a weapon to slay the hunters with their own happiness or crush their joy under crippling fear and-
She also was terrible at baking and such so this was a chance to try and not burn everything. Taking her bowl and mixing?
She pretended that she was going to make a house fit for a king. Or an emperor. Or her cousin who might see her and judge her oh ancestors help he she hoped he didn't see her attempts at these gingerbread things.

He'd wandered in late, and before he had a chance to bother his boilfriend. He totally knew about the wall biting, which may or may not have been his reason for hanging back, rolling his eyes and muttering something along the lines of, "Carnivores." It wasn't, after all, like he'd considered it, what with the wafting smells of sugar and deliciousness. Nope, not at all.
Efflo stared down at the bowl and spoon suddenly in his hands. She wanted them to do what?

He put a little more oomph! into his stirring, and it seemed to help, the batter starting to come together and looking less like a gross, and most likely inedible, lumpy mass.
