Alistair had to cough to cover a laugh at the woman's utterly horrified expression. "Right, of course - come on, love, more places to look at." He took Lance's hand, and swore he heard and actual horrified sputter from the landlady. Oh, that was a large tick against her, essentially sealing his certainty that no, this was not the building for them.

That damned grin wasn't going anywhere today, he decided. Because it just widened as Alistair covered his laugh. He didn't miss the horrified noise however. And feeling a bit bold he jerked Alistair back, just enough for the land lord to fully see them, before leaning down and kissing the brunette on the lips. "I suggest we high tail it out of here."

Alistair made a soft squeak of surprise, but he grinned against Lance's lips when the taller man kissed him. "You're horrible today," he said, and then he did indeed start moving very quickly towards the building's exit.

"Learned from the best." Lance grinned as he bee-lined for the car before the land lord could do anything. "...Well that was fun." He chimed as he slid into his seat, trying not to laugh like a school kid.

Alistair just shook his head, sliding into the car and briefly resting his head on Lance's shoulder. "I appreciate that the only time you'll kiss me in public without blushing is to upset a homophobic landlady. Worth it, though," he said.

"Eh, give it time. Before you know it I'll stop blushing all together." There was a moment of silence before Lance finally laughed. "She looked like she was going to faint." He snickered. The blonde knew he should 'probably' feel bad, but he didn't.

"I hope so," Alistair said, and then he snorted. "Well, she shouldn't have been quite so obvious," he pointed out. "Hopefully Avacyn's building will have something; her apartment was nice."

"I think the second, I thought she'd pass out when you kissed me," Alistair said, and then he laughed. "Well, the likelihood of the first place we looked at being perfect was pretty small. I suggest we tell the next landlord that we're gay up front, just to make sure it won't be an issue..."

"Are we sure she hasn't?" Lance questioned, though he didn't stick around to find out as he started the car and drove off. "Did you want to call Avacyn and see if she's home in the first place? Maybe she can get us hers?"

"That's a good idea," Alistair agreed, pulling out his phone and dialing Avacyn. "It'd be nice to have another member of the Court close by, too, in case of emergencies," he murmured.
Ava hadn't been expecting a phone call, so when she heard her cell phone go off she sat up and practically ran over. Who was even calling her? She smiled when she saw Alistair's name. "Hey! What's up?"
"Hello, Ava," Alistair greeted casually. "We were wondering if you knew of any open spaces in your building? Lance and I are looking into getting an apartment together. We're hoping for a two-bedroom," he said rather hastily.
"Oh, yeah, actually, there's a family on my floor that just moved into a townhouse, and they had a nice-sized place - you guys want to take a look? I'll call my landlord down, he's a pretty chill dude, you'll love him," she laughed. She knew she was lucky with her building.
"Sounds excellent," Alistair said. "See you soon, Ava," and then he hung up. "Yes, there's somewhere open - on her floor too, which is good. A first-floor apartment sounds lovely. She's getting in contact with her landlord and we'll be able to take a look."

"Sounds like a plan then. Remind me why we didn't do this first? I'm glad she was home, she might be able to give us a few leads if the place there doesn't work out." Ava had been through this atleast once, so she was bound to know something right??

"Because I decided to rush off and figure it out for myself instead of sanely asking for the opinion of someone experienced," Alistair laughed, and then he nodded. "This is a good idea all around! Better than rushing around ourselves."
Ava called up to her landlord's office. "Hey, Aaron? I've got some friends looking for a place and I think they'd be great for the one that just opened up, I think it'd be a great idea for you to show them. Yeah, they should be pretty reliable - I mean it's their first place but they're good kids...Yeah, I'll be there, meet you in a few." She hummed as she threw on some actual presentable clothes, and then walked over to the door of the empty apartment to wait.

In a short time they pulled up and met up with Avacyn. "Sorry if we're keeping you from something Avacyn. We just figured you could help since you'd already been through this."

"I already know you have excellent ideas, darling," Alistair replied.
He was excited when they pulled up, bouncing a little on his heels. His nerves from earlier were utterly demolished - if Lance was making suggestions, clearly he was just as into this as Alistair.
"Not taking me from anything important! Just my millionth hour of Skyrim," Avacyn laughed. "I'm glad to help! Come on, it's in here. I think you guys will like it." She led them to the apartment on offer, where her landlord was waiting to let them in.
