"Ohoho my dear, I suppose you already know that flattery gets you everywhere." She waved her hand as if to brush off such a compliment, grabbing the mug when it was passed back to her, full and frothing. "Why, you're so cute I could just eat you up." A subtle, yet cliche predatory line, but it seemed to fit with the abnormal size of her canines one could see glimpses of when she smiled.
The woman tipped her chair as she nursed from the glass, much like a bored child might do. "Striped, you say?" Her smile faded somewhat, but her demeanor remained friendly. Her pointer finger encircled the rim of the mug. "I suppose old habits die hard." She was amused by her own musings, and all the references they could possibly hold.
But another ghoul was soon to follow behind, which was a pleasant surprise. "A picture, you say?" As Amphi removed the picture, the woman leaned forward and squinted her eyes to look. "I'll... Uh... I'll not take that as an insult." As if to check herself, she sat the mug down and patted her chest to make sure nothing had changed. Nope. Damn.
Oh well. It seemed they had little time for pleasantries. This was business now. "Lou? You mean Loucious, don't you? Oh, and call me Eve." Though her last question seemed to catch Eve off guard. "Do you really want me to answer that?"

Speak of the devil. The striped boil walked in at the moment his full name was uttered. He said nothing, but simply scanned the area.
Yes. He was definitely nervous now, but Lou tried not to show it. The boil held his head high as he marched over towards the table populated by women, finding himself, for once, unable to quip or sexually harass the new woman in front of him. This was her. He didn't know how he knew, but he was certain of it. Now that he had her... It appeared he was at a loss of words. What did he ask? Where did he start?

Hel’s lips could only stretch into a wide smile as her eyes lidded. Yes, she did know flattery got you everywhere…when used on the right person. The ghoul chuckled, “Get in line, screecheart.” When Amphi appeared, the ghoul nodded to her, and then snorted. “Ah, will explain it later…” The ghoul paused though, noting how the woman’s demeanor seemed to shift when Lou was actually brought up, and then—Ah! There he was. Loucious, apparently. The reaper stared at the undead boil, and stared, and stared, and stared. He was saying nothing. Hel wasn’t patient, so she took charge. She turned back to the woman, and pointed at the boil. “He wants to know where he came from. The less ambiguous the better.” For her amusement and knowledge.

Amphi opened the bottle of milk and nodded. "We can discuss the meaning of douche later!" Speaking of, There was Lou.
And he was awfully quiet.
So Amphi stared and stared and stared with Hel.
She even jumped a little when Hel spoke up. "Ah!" She pressed a hand to where her heart was fluttering and nodded agreements and encouragements..."Lou! You should say something too!" The mermaid reached over to take his hand and squeeze.
"Go ahead..."

Eve tapped the mug with her nails as Hel explained. "Really now?" Her tone was only mildly interested as she examined the boil that now sat with him, as if searching some unseen schematic before her eyes. "Well, I'm afraid ambiguous and obscure may be all I have... But..." It seemed the two ghouls were much more excited than he was.
"You know, I actually expected you earlier. Perhaps I didn't give you enough credit. Though, looking at you right now, I wonder if this is what you really want." She leaned forward, looking him directly in the eyes.
"A few years ago, a boy walked through that same door. He talked to the bartender, then made his way over to this very table. The boy got on his knees and begged for this. He wept in front of every attendant in this place for what you have now. Whether you realize it or not, Loucious, the ignorance you possess was so precious to someone they gave me everything they could offer for it. So... Are you sure you want to open this can of worms? ... Or is someone just pulling your strings? " Her look had grown deathly serious by the end of her story.

Lou flinched when he felt another hand on his, glancing over to Amphi before returning his gaze to Eve. Expected him earlier?
The story Eve wove and the questions she offered caused Lou's grip on Amphi's hand to tighten. Really, he did like where his life was. Perhaps he was missing out on things, but you didn't know what you were missing if you never had it to begin with, right?
There was, however, a tiny part of the vampire that realized he couldn't stay the same forever. In his few years of aimless wandering, he hadn't grown. Things didn't change the way everything stood. Sure, nothing hurt him, but nothing moved him either.
Moreover, nothing could really be that bad. Surely. Lou was strong. People knocked him down and he just stood right back up. "Yeah. This is what I want."

"Very well then." Her expression relaxed, and she leaned back into her chair before taking a swig of her drink. "I was never supposed to tell you anything, and was purposefully kept oblivious to much of your previous existence. I do know, however, that you are your own entity now. To keep you in the dark would be to deny you something essential. Just remember, there's no going back after this."
Eve sighed, reaching behind her into the leather bag that hung on her chair. "His name was Gabriel. You actually don't look that much like him, besides your eyes." A pair of broken round framed glasses were tossed in front of him. Holy s**t those lenses were thick. "Pure black greasy hair, pinstripe button up shirt with a pocket protector, probably a lame a** fedora at home." Her own description made her smile. "And something tragically terrifying. Behind those spectacles, he was battling himself for some shred of control... Over what and why I really couldn't say."

Hel had, oddly enough, grown rather quiet. The lady was going to tell them…or Lou, what they, or he, wanted to hear, so that honestly meant it was story time now, and Hel did like stories. The reaper leaned back a bit in her chair, and crossed her arms. Her gaze was settled on Eve, though it occasionally flickered to Lou to see how he was handling the bits of information as it was fed to him. The wingless valkyrie wasn’t sure what to expect, honestly. She had no idea what kind of background and upbringing could spawn Lou…or…what he was trying to get away from, that caused him to embrace what he was now. She blinked as the glasses were revealed, and her lips tightened at the description Eve gave them…so…wait… Lou wasn’t always an undead…? Hrm.

Lou's hand squeeze let Amphi know enough that he was nervous, and regardless of his usual confident demeanor, Lou was never nervous.
She wasn't even sure he knew the meaning of it.
"Gabriel?" She looked over to Lou, giving a raised eyebrow.

Lou's brows furrowed with each new, strange tidbit of information. He looked to Hel, then to Amphi and gave a big shrug of his shoulders. It was ******** news to him too.
But when the glasses were thrown in front of him, his look became grim.
Cool guys didn't wear glasses that thick.
W-well. Maybe his past self wore them ironically.
The pocket protector and greasy hair didn't sound promising, but...
Ironically. Yeah. Sure. Stupid, but at least it wouldn't be as depraved as... The other option.
"Gabriel, huh? s**t name." He mused, trying to regain his composure as he released Amphi's hand after a gentle pat to claim the glasses. When he put them on, all that could be seen within the lenses... Were spirals. Talk about ******** nerdy.
The most interesting part, surprisingly, didn't entirely interest Lou. He had probably been running from some super powerful secret police or something and needed a cover. "So then, if I wasn't always undead, was I some cool kind of demon?" Nothing was actually as cool as being a vampire, but he supposed a hoity toity demon would only make sense.

"A s**t name? Well, personally I thought YOUR name was a little over the top, but I suppose you're entitled to your opinion." Eve shrugged and smiled.
"Oh. Hahah. A demon? Goodness no. He was a reaper."

A... A what. Lou peeked over the glasses, the shock on his face clear as day. "I don't believe you." He started to laugh nervously. "I think this is all one big joke. I'm not some four-eyed, unwashed, noodle armed man child."
----
Eve watched the boil quietly for a moment, tapping her fingers on the table as her smile slowly faded. "No. You're not. And he wasn't either." Besides the four eyes part. This wasn't going well, and she knew things would only get worse. "Look Loucious. I can tell you all these things until my lungs stop processing air and I shrivel up in a useless heap, but it's not going to do you a lick of good if you pass it off as a funny story." The older woman looked towards the two ghouls that had accompanied him. "I'm afraid this is the extent of my information anyways. In order to get the full story, you'll have to find it's source."

Hel’s brow rose as more and more tid bits unfolded, and she kept her silence until at one point— “HEY!” She cried, scowling at both Lou and Eve. “There is nothing wrong with reapers! We are an honorable race with many qualities that put us above the rest of the others!” She scowled again, and crossed her arms, and sat there pouting until it seemed they exhausted this source of information. Now Hel was just exasperated. “ Well?” She leaned forward and planted her palm on the table. “Where is this source?” She was asking Eve. “It has to be in this town, ya!? Or…” She paused, and her brows furrowed, as if her brain cells were trying really hard to put together a logical conclusion, also known as exercising her critical thinking skills. Something might have smelled like it was burning. “Wait…if Lou was a reaper…he said there is a town of reapers nearby…should we go there next, then!?”

"I personally think Monsters are the best...." Amphi sipped her milk.
There was an aura sent to Hel of *MVP of the housecup* from Amphi, though it could totally be the reapers imagination.
"What's wrong with being a four eyed, unwashed, noodle armed man child?" Amphi looked over to Eve and leaned over, "Who should we find for the source if its not you then??"

Lou was officially disgruntled, and it was as plain as day. "Yeah, we'll just see for ourselves!" The boil rolled his eyes at Hel's retort, shaking his head as his smug grin temporarily returned. "And what quality is that? Sorry, big titties aren't limited to your race." He gestured to Amphi. "And your oversized c**k just stands around and waits to be petted. Yeah, you sure are a step above the rest." Oh, to be a stranger listening in on this conversation.
"What's wrong with it?" He immediately turned to Amphi. "What, are you saying you'd prefer an acne-ridden, undoubtedly scrawny little nerd instead of a chiseled undead hunk?" Ghouls, honestly...

Eve held up her hands as Hel went on a rampage. "Woah honey, I never said a word against reapers. No need to get your undoubtedly adorable panties in a knot." Though, she soon laughed it off. What a hoot these two were. Sleeze or not, Loucious kept good company.
And smart company, it seemed. Eve sat silently as the valkyrie pondered, gesturing towards Hel as Amphi's question was posed.
"Ding-ding! We have a winner. Give the ghoul a spookie doll~" The older woman was kind enough to offer Hel a round of applause. "I think that's probably your best bet. If he wasn't from there, you're just SOL"

Well, Hel did have a very active imagination, and so she totally did not miss that aura of HouseCup MVP Amphi was sending her way. The ghoul shot the mermaid a glare, and held up her index and middle finger to her. “ Only by two points.” She hissed. She then scowled at Lou. “Can you get beyond physical appearances for on—OH WAIT NO YOU CAN NOT!” She flipped him two birds, but was calmed when Eve acknowledged her un-deniable mental prowess and good deductions…and lucky guesses. “Alright. Off to this reaper town then!” She pumped a fist. “It has been fun, lady!” The ghoul gave a salute, and then stormed out the door…well ahead of her companions.

Amphi just gave Hel
Pushing herself up and looking down at Lou, Quietly as she could, and for his ears only, she whispered..."Lou, I would like you regardless of what you looked like." She smiled at him.
Then she turned to Eve and smiled at that woman next, "Thank you Ms. Eve, I hope you stay safe! We appreciate all the information!"
The she bounded after Hel.

The vampire smiled and shrugged at Hel's words. "You got me there." The boil laughed.
Though... It seemed that Amphi was much farther ahead of him in that department. His smile faded as she announced that his appearance didn't matter a lick to her. Why not? What other ******** qualities did he have?
Lou watched the two ghouls head out the door, and was about to follow them when a hand touched his shoulder.
That hand belonged to Eve. "Listen." She started, the look in her eyes reflecting a wise aura that Lou's own lacked entirely. "Whatever you may find out. Whatever comes of this little adventure, remember who you are. In the end, that's what matters the most." She gave his shoulder a gentle pat before releasing him and walking back to her chair. "I'm here, if and when you need me."
Lou said nothing to her almost foreshadowing words, he only glanced back for a few seconds before rushing to catch up with his female cohorts.

Ahead of everyone else, and very gung ho right now, Hel would be found grabbing some poor sap by the collar and making demands. “Where is the reaper town!?” Luckily her intensity paid off, and she let the poor b*****d go on his drunken way, turning towards her companions once they showed up. “Alright, the town is in that direction!” She pointed. “So let us get a move on!”

Amphi had taken to walking slowly so that Lou could catch up. Once he joined her, her hand went to lace through his again and squeeze. She didn't mention it, nor would she now but Lou had nice qualities.
He cared about some people, otherwise he wouldn't be around them. And underneath all the crude comments was just a guy trying to you know...exsist. She liked his carefree, sometimes recklessness.
No matter what Lou looked like, those qualities wouldn't change.
Catching up to Hel made Amphi frown a bit...
"But Hel...Aren't you a reaper? Didn't you come from Reapertown?" Look she was a simple mermaid from the sea, "Like isn't there a ghost town where all the ghost come from?"
