Konstantine smiled at the mention of a spar, he was always ready to fight even if he had to hold back due to it being a spar. He jumped to his feet with an exciting pace, "Are you sure you want to spar against me Father, I have become much stronger than last time. I was merely a soldier when we last collided, I am now one of your strongest Star Knights. I might even be comparable to you in power Father." He said with a smirk before hearing Miriam speak, "What do you mean, we would be on a team facing Father. You wouldn't be facing Serah. To think I was excited to fight along side you once again like the old days." He said as he looked towards Serah, "It looks like it is just you and I, either way I have been wondering how strong you have become. I won't let you show me up." He said to her as he winked and placed his sunglasses on and looked towards the floor, "Under us is a large training area, I use it when I train. It can withstand all our full power and the house will stay in perfect condition, not to mention our reiatsu will be concealed nearly completely from the outside world." As he finished speaking he pushed his couch back and and it clicked and stopped in its place, as it did the floor boards dropped an inch and shifted to the side revealing a staircase it was a bit wider than a person and led into a dark area that seemed void of all light.

Aleksandr Marchant La Mer ††† Aleksandr was shocked by how quickly his pawn Miriam lost her composure. He was dissapointed in Serah as well. "The Lord does not look upon the petty with kind eyes." He announced releasing a wave of pressure. "Serah, never address me in such a disrespectful manner again." The look he gave the woman was unlike the one at the door. This was no longer Father Aleksandr. This was Emperor Aleksandr. "When I became emperor I was not even one of the Knights. Character, will and faith outweigh rank. You'd best remember that." Shaking his head in utter shame he looked at Konstantine to hear what the boy had to say. Normally Aleksandr would have been delighted at Konstantine's confidence, but the girls put him in a bad mood. "Miriam, you will spar against Serah. This is an order." He said without lolking at the Quincy. "Konstantine, show me this power of yours that rivals my own." With one more glance at Serah the Emperor descended into the sparring area. His head stuck in a rythmic shake. "Forgive them my Lord for they are still children." He said loudly for the girls to hear. †††

 Miriam ignored the young blonde's words, knowing she was speaking out of cockiness and complete arrogance. The red head stood up as she finally showed a sign of emotion upon hearing her lord's order. Causing Miriam to narrow her eyes slightly and shake her head. She refused to fight simply for amusement, even if it was a direct order. Being an ex-nun, she had a strong sense of justice and valued peace over everything. Deeming it insulting against The Lord the creator if she used her abilities to other than protect and fight for a greater purpose, which was peace. "I'm sorry my lord but I cannot comply with that order. As much as I do not like disobeying you, this is simply something I cannot do. It goes against my values as a servant of The Lord. I will not fight. Do what you will to me for disobeying but I will not fight if an innocent is not in danger. "

When His Majesty spoke she acted as if scared and sorry. In her mind she was laughing too hard, but Miriam’s reply came as a tad bit shocking. Miriam was known as ‘Bloody Mary’ by her enemies. Serah thought Miriam did not hesitate to fight when necessary. Plus, this wasn’t very professional of her, after all.. she was in the presence of her comrades. Soon everyone would be disregarding His Majesty’s orders. What kind of example was she setting for the others. Not a very Loyal daughter. Serah shrugged ,this seemed very unlike Miriam. “ If she does not wish to spar, then so be it. I will not try to force anything she doesn’t want to do.” She looked to her majesty on the steps. Serah was finally starting to sober up from her drinking at the estate. Her face was more relaxed and calm. A Serah his Majesty would recognize. She yawned once again, followed by a burp “Oh, my apologies” She said patting her back as if to stop it from happening again. Serah was looking from Konstantine to Alek and to Miriam.

Konstantine began to walk down the stairs when he heard Miriam speak and refuse to fight when ordered to, it was unlike her to reject Father's orders. "Father forgive me, but would you spar with Serah. I feel something is wrong with Miriam, she has been off all day. I would like to talk to her for a moment, If you are still willing to spar afterwards I am more than willing to show you how powerful I have become." He said this with a bit of concern as his mood shifted from excited and ready for anything to a bit gloomy and curious. He knew they didn't leave off on good terms so he would have to address that while talking to her as well as what is or isn't wrong in this particular moment. "Miriam, would you mind sitting with me for a moment and talking. We can join the others shortly, I just want to speak with you alone." He said in a rather calm and nice voice which he rarely used unless he was flirting, but in a serious and sincere manner as this it seemed as if something was wrong with him as well. He wouldn't force her to talk to him but he wanted to see if everything was alright considering the last they saw of each other she was issuing threats to him, which was fine with him since most threats directed towards him were cast aside and never came true. He was rather worried about Miriam tho, she never shot down orders from Father and although he was aware of her not wanting to fight unless she had to he didn't understand why she wouldn't spar. Technically it isn't fighting it is practicing, and the excuse of her only training alone didn't make any sense, considering if you never train with others there is nothing to help you grow so you would never truly get any better. All in all he just wanted to talk to her in general, not necessarily just for what was going on only today.

Miriam overheard Konstantine interrupt the small commotion with the request of an private audience with the Knight. Deciding it fair that someone knew the main reason behind her refusal to spar which normally she'd agree to, she respectfully bowed to her master. "It will be brief my Lord." She said in a monotone before going into the other room, awaiting Konstantine's presence. Mostly likely she'd give him the truth, if not him then no one else. Why? He was easier to talk to and the only one she actually felt comfortable around to confide in. With the A Knight, she had no patience with her, for she was far too high up her high horse and with her father, personal matters were just not on his agenda nor did he have to concern himself with them.

Konstantine walked off into the other room with her, he was not one to wait around very long for answers, considering he already asked for forgiveness and out of the group so far he was the only one not particularly making Father mad. As he entered the room he closed the door behind him, he was sure this was a private discussion since she walked into another room. He was not sure what to think, was she okay, did she need help or advice. Although he was seen as a player and a perv, he was always there for Miriam, they might have their arguments and scuffles but he still never turned her away if she needed anything, even right after lecturing him he was stil there for her. He looked at her with a concerned look on his face as he took his sunglasses off, it was probably better that she could see his eyes. "Is everything okay Miriam?" He asked in a rather soft and soothing voice, he was truly concerned and this would show on his face and in his tone. He was not used to seeing her like this, but he would surely attempt to help in any way he possibly could.

Miriam crossed her arms as she settled down in a chair and looked at Konstantine, letting out a sigh. "I refuse to fight because it is the anniversary of my mentor's death. He was the closest to a father I had after leaving the convent at 17 and taught me everything I know. In honor of his death, I fast for days. No eating, drinking and especially no fighting of any sort. By not fighting, it is a way to respect his memory, showing the ultimate form of respect which is peace and tranquility. Especially if he died by my hand. It is the least I could do for him. That is why I will not spar. Until the week is over."

Serah sighed looking down into the stairs. This was all very stupid. Just then, from her purse came the pleasing sound of bells. It was he phone. “Hello?” She answered. “Right now, well this isn't the best time, but…” She stopped being interrupted. Her stance changed to a sassy ‘you think your going to tell me this now’ type. Hip cocked. She sighed once again. Looking to Alek “Sorry your Majesty but I must take my leave.” She turned moving up the staircase, still with the phone to her ear. She popped her head in on the two in the room “I must be leaving” She paused forcing them a smile “It was nice to see you again Konstantine. Miriam… a pleasure as always.” She retreated back to the front door. “Yes, yes I know. But grandfather..” She stopped. Giving him her cold head of the family voice “You should have know better than to let them Fight such think. What did you think would happen. Ugh… god help them. Foolish children.” She then opened the door and left. Making sure not to slam such an elegantly crafted door. She clicked her phone off. She look back at the Mansion thinking ‘ugh ******** drama and being soft. This is no place for a "family get together" ’

Konstantine listened as he to sat down next to her, "I understand, and if I had a week where I normally stopped everything to commemorate something in my past, I too wouldn't let orders change that. However I do have a week where I feel especially down." He said this as he thought back for a moment and took in a deep breath, his mood went from curious and concerned to rather sad. "When I was a soldier in the German army at the age of 16 I was sent out into the battlefield, it wasn't my first time, but it was one of the only times I would remember every thought and action I made for the rest of my life. The war raged against a rebel army, we entered a base that we had scouted for a few months. I was the eyes that sat on a perch watching my teams back and taking out enemies that were unseen by my team. I killed 43 men without blinking, but that isn't even the part that bothers me, considering I had killed many men as a soldier. I seen movement behind my team in a tent, a shadow that looked like a fat man carrying a gun. I shot an arrow, it broke through the side of the tent and pierced the chest of what I thought was an armed enemy." His voice gradually got more sad as the story continued tears formed at his eyes and streamed down his face. "A woman holding her infant baby fell from the opening in the front of the tent, both of them skewered by the arrow I had shot. I had never killed a woman before, much less a woman and a kid, and in one shot I had made the one mistake I couldn't face without deep regret. I didn't leave the military in fact I stayed until I turned 18 and went out and found the Quincy." His tears continued as he thought of his past, she was the only one he had ever told about this event, and despite everyone telling him getting it off your chest feels better than bearing the burden alone, it really felt no different to him. He tried to put on a fake smile to lighten the mood again, but it only ended in him speaking once more, "After that day I vowed never to hurt a woman again unless my life was in serious danger, or the life of someone I love was in serious danger." He said this as his voice cleared a little bit and his mood shifted slightly, not enough to be considered anything other that sad or depressed, but enough that it was noticeable.

Miriam Looked at him in surprise, never would she have thought him to have a similar past to her own. Much less open up to her and show his more vulnerable side. With not much to say, she simply put her hand on his shoulder in effort to console her brother. "Guess we aren't all that different as we thought. More reason to stay close and not distant." She forced a smile. "You better hope not to show this side to anyone else or you'd be hearing it from the father, nonstop." She joked.

He said as he offered his hand for her to take so he could help her up, "Well with Serah gone, I am back on the chopping block, so I better get back to Father.
