He smiled, a touch of commiseration, at her words, venturing, "But I take it you don't find it that entertaining at all?"
He shrugged as best he could without disturbing his balance; he didn't want to push her if she didn't want to tell her story. "Only if you would rather not wait for an audience bigger than one."
He paused then, smile still lingering on his face as it always did, before adding, "Or if you'd rather not tell your story at all, I wouldn't mind pretending that you've told it."Ruriska Ah, I've missed Dive! And Seclusion! Ahhh, I can just see her perched there perfectly unamused by everything.

"No, not really."Her tone was dismissive and it was clear there was very little in this world she would ever classify as entertaining. "I'd best tell one anyway. Whether I want to or not is irrelevant, as I did say I would and the sooner I do, the sooner I appease me elders and can go do something else." She rearranged herself slightly, moving some of the bones around into less pointy angles. "Just, if you would be so kind as to request it officially? That way I can't be told off for having such a small audience in attendance."

Dive couldn't help but smile; it was his nature even though he was sad that the doe found so little entertainment in the world. He nodded in acquiesce.
"As you wish." He lifted his legs one by one to resettle them in a more comfortable position before saying, casting his voice louder than before to make sure he would be heard, "I would greatly appreciate it if you would oblige me with a story."
Then he fell silent, waiting attentively for her story to begin.
Ruriska Aw, Dive appreciates it! He likes being loud and quiet, but mostly he just wants others to be happy.

The Royal Rainbow Troupe. He had heard about it. He knows about it. but Waterfall was unable to attend their show during the June Flower Festival because he was deemed too young to 'go off on his own' by his parents. And of course, his siblings didn't want to go out to see it with him and had told him to 'stop being so whiny'. Now, he is full grown and full of potential. He was excited to meet the members of this tribe. He snaked his way past the entrance and stood mere inches away from the masked acha with a blue tail. It reminded him of the sea.. Oh how he would love to explore the sea side.... Waterfall swished his tail left to right, right to left as he walked, a bit nervous yet rather confident, and nudged the doe with his nose like his father has done so many times to mother. "Hello. What are you watching out for? Not afraid of the dark?" He smiled at her and stood there. Ruriska is she available? i want to let this buck join the tribe by the time the event ends <3

"Very good."
Despite that the doe didn't start straight away. For all her dislike for the task she intended to do it properly and that meant there needed to be a certain flair to it. So she let there be an expectant pause as she put her head up high and closed her eyes. "There was once a doe. A doe that is probably very similar to someone you know. A doe that is both kind and selfish at the same time, as many creatures are. This doe lived a remarkable and yet unremarkable life, with many friends and no enemies and it was on a completely normal day that she found the mongoose. It was freshly dead already and the doe was hungry. It seemed natural to eat her fill. Waste not, she thought."She paused again for dramatic effect. "She ate it down from top to bottom, leaving only the bones. When she looked up she noticed another mongoose watching her. It said, 'you have eaten my mate.' She was surprised of course. For animals are not meant to talk. But she apologized anyway, because it seemed the proper thing to do."Amorpheous Pull a story out of my a** time.

It was with great restraint that Prize did not bite the young Acha's head off. She bit back her angry dismissal, sucking in a breath and letting it go. She was not keen on unnecessary touching and having a stranger approach to nudge her in such a familiar way was not good for her mood. But she managed a smile anyway. "Are you afraid of the dark?" She asked, turning the question back. "I should hope so, since you've stumbled onto the Royal Rainbow Troupe Night of Frights. Please do enjoy yourself... ah, and look, it seems the storytelling has begun. At least Seclusion seemed to finally have an audience. Even if it was just one lone buck. FrostyPeaches She's all yours. ;D Waterfall is very welcome!

Waterfall recognized that type of body language. She was not happy with his friendly nudge. His smile turned into a frown. walking a few steps backwards, he gave her distance between themselves in case he had stepped into her safety bubble. "Ah, excuse me, I have gotten used to that greeting with me family. I should have kicked a pebble at you like so" and he kicked the smallest one he could find and watched it roll against the acha's hoof coming to a complete stop. " I.. am not afraid of the dark. I actually like what you all have done to this place. the dangling spiders gives off the creepy crawly effect." He turned his gaze towards the other doe and buck. "Frightening stories, however, I have not heard of any before. The stories me dad would tell us all had a happy ending..." He wanted to stay and listen to it but was well aware that this time, the story might not have a happy ending. His throat became dry and he stuttered while he spoke to Prize. "U-u-h-h. W-w-ould you stay by my side? I know this may make you uncomfortable again but I don't t-think the story would end well.. and I'm not sure how I would react throughout the story..." Ruriska Awesome (: I don't want him to ask the question until the very end.

"A simple hello would have been suitable," Prize replied, kicking the pebble back towards him. "Don't worry about it. It's fine."Watch Me was always so much better at this exuberant welcoming business than she was and she was hoping to get this Acha buck to leave her alone for the story. Her hopes were quickly dashed. "Stories with happy endings are hardly much fun." She was watching him, eyes slightly narrowed. Was he really that worried about how he would react to the story? She nearly made her excuses, told him she was too busy, but then she sighed. "If you like. Come on."Prize led him over towards where Seclusion was spinning her tale. "What is your name?"

Dive smiled as the story began; the doe had a beautiful voice and he wondered if she would sing for them if he asked. He figured not, but maybe at some later time she could be persuaded.
The story seemed innocuous enough so far, but Dive did not interrupt. He was sure it would take a chilling turn soon enough. This was a night for frights and chills after all. So he waited for the story to continue, greeting the two other Acha that joined him with a nod and a pleased blink.

"I-I don't want any trouble!" Bite cried out frantically. "I'm just passing through, really! I-in fact, if you show me which direction to go, I will be happily on my way!"

She stopped her advance, but still pressed her head forward and hissed, "there is no way out. You can't escape." Inspiring fear was really quite fun.

Seclusion nodded briefly at Prize and her quest as they joined her audience and continued to spin her story. "She apologized but it was not enough. 'You must take her place', the mongoose told her and then was gone. The doe did not understand and so she left, to continue living her simply life. Slowly she began to realize that something was changing. Her belly began to grow, filling with many eager, writhing bodies. The doe was horrified. They clawed at her insides, testing her."Prize looked away from her young companion and clucked her tongue in irritation. She'd said 'spine-tingling' not 'gruesome mongoose baby story'.

"Oh I see. I will remember that for next time," he replied, and kicked the small pebble between her legs, completely missing the target. He squinted at her while she stared back at him. "I happen to like happy endings..." he spoke quietly, but loud enough for only her to hear. "I.. would like to know your name. If you would let me. My parents named me Waterfall," he whispered. She started to move, so he followed like a little duckling close behind its mother. He saw the other acha give him a nod, and he lowered his head, almost bowing down. The story started already. He seemed to have missed the beginning because by the time he got there, all he heard was '...something was changing. Her belly began to grow, filling with many eager, writhing bodies. The doe was horrified. They clawed at her insides, testing her.' Waterfall stayed close to Prize, almost as if she was his shield. "What could possibly be alive inside her belly?" he asked out loud. The mental images he conjured up were not pretty. Wolf pups? Rats? Rabbits? May be slow responding. Exam tomorrow. D;

Dive listened with rapt attention, seeing the story unfold so clearly in his mind as the Acha told it. The story was turning out gruesome, but he supposed that it fit rather well.
He winced and smiled at the same time with the imagery, uncomfortable but entertained.

Art Beat bounced with near silent glee from Watch Me's comment. It pleased her greatly hearing any complement for the stunning buck beside her. Nodding in agreement, she was about to open her mouth to respond when a very vibrant doe trotted their way. "Oh, hi!"
