Candace shook her head. "That, my little pink-haired princess, is too personal for a first date." She finished her lunch and pushed it away, putting her elbows on the table and her chin in her hands. "I want to know more about the little lady wooing one of my girls."

Chel sighed. Candace was sort of ruining the point of gossip for her. "Righto, fancy shoes," she said, sipping the water she'd picked up on the way. "Your girls? Thought you said you didn't know Nevada?"
That was tricky.
Chel didn't like tricky.

Candace smiled and shrugged. "I might know her a little. It's a small division and I'm the Mist trainer." She pat the table with one hand. "How old are you?"

Now that things were shifting to an interview setting, Chel was getting uncomfortable. "18 ... It changes depending on who's asking though," she said with a cheeky grin.
"This better not be ********' twenty questions. I got things to do later," she said, slowly sipping her water now that her food was done. Even if she had food, she probably wouldn't have eaten it. Candace had sort of made her lose her appetite.
She also really hoped that this questionnaire wouldn't get Nevada in trouble. Uh oh.

Candace couldn't help but grin even more when she noticed a change in Chelsea's demeanor. She wasn't happy anymore. How fun. "It's not, I promise. Annoyed though, huh~?" Cute. "She's been hurt a lot in the past, some of it she seems to have mysteriously forgotten. Can you blame me for just wanting to be sure she's not going to be hurt again? I care about her a lot." Nevada was one of hers.

Chel shook her head. "Nah dude, I'll happily answer anything about Nevada. I just don't like the third degree on me. I like my personal stuff to stay personal."
She leaned back in her seat with a sigh and said, "I can't promise I'm not gonna hurt her, that'd be stupid." Chel shrugged, seeing as she wouldn't make broad promises of true love and eternal devotion when it just wasn't in her to do so. "The way I see it, Nevada's a big girl and so am I. Even if you told me to stop dating her 'cause I'm not suited or whatever, I wouldn't.."
Chel blew a sigh and said, "I appreciate it, big sis, but nothing you say or do's gonna change much at all in the end." Chel meant that with the best part of her heart, but she was shitty at wording things always and forever.
