Elise sighs and tries again.
She raises her hand above the broom.
"Up," she states.
But it smacks her in the face.
She frowns and rubs her cheek.
"Maybe I'm not cut out for this," she thinks.
She sighs and gets ready to try again.

Half-heartedly, Elise raises her hand above the broom.
"Up," she says quietly.
Though her command is almost a whisper, the broom raises off of the ground.
It is low and a bit shaky, but that's okay.
Elise squats down and mentally prepares herself to mount.

Elise mounts her broom carefully.
"Okay, I just need to hover 10 feet off the ground," she thought, "How hard can that be?"
Slowly, she pushes off the ground.
She goes up 30 feet and veers to the left.
She returns to the ground.
"That wasn't so bad," she thought, "But I have to try again."

Sitting on her broom, Elise tries to rise again.
She pushes off the ground.
She goes up 10 feet and right back down to the ground as she is supposed to.
She smiles. She feels accomplished.
She dismounts her broom and walks away.

Progress report
Good job students it seems the slytherins have managed to mount and hover
The raven claw has mounted but the hufflepuff has yet to tty

ooc: Oh jeez I keep thinking I've finished the classwork!
Straightening herself up Hailey gave her broom a withering glare before trying to hover.
She leaves the ground but wasn't quite centered on her broom and falls with the broom falling on her and leaving a bruise on her forehead.

Rubbing her forehead with a grumble Hailey was seriously reconsidering joining the house Quidditch team when tryouts happen. Nonetheless, she got back up and attempts to hover.
To her surprise Hailey not only hovers but goes up about 30 feet. She eventually manages to get back down.
