His second attempt at had been almost laughable and Athene knew it. Again the dark-haired senshi was unsure whether or not his attempt at swinging out at the monochrome Princess had actually connected, but even if it had then the thing had probably shrugged it off.
He started to move in again and then heard the real Princess yell out in warning, followed by the Shade yelling out an attack. Eyes widening Athene did his best to try and dodge the ribbon made up of varying grey lights that suddenly snaked out at them, managing to keep his feet.

His first kicked landed and he had managed to avoid being lashed out at. This was quite an interesting scenario he found himself in, but at least it was as chaotic as some of the things he seen. Bad, yes, but a smaller scale of bad.
He turned ready to go on the offensive again only to be told to get back and a little to late at that ...
If someone had asked Tsui how she was enjoying this little encounter, she would have likely given in to the excitement and admitted that she might have been enjoying this a whole lot more than she thought possible and a lot more than she really should have. Yet, that's just how she was. Eager, ready to fight, general butt kicker of the bad guys and all that jazz.
Unfortunately for Tsui, Princess Iris' warning came too late for her, and as quick and nimble as Tsui thought she was, she couldn't dodge the incoming attack from the shade princess, and down Tsui went when the ribbons hit her feet.
Unfortunately for the shade, that only made Tsui angry, and even more eager to fight... once she could stand again, anyway. The moment Tsui was on her feet again, it was ON!

Her second kick connected as well, and Pasiphae was beginning to feel hopeful. Each Senshi and Knight fought with different tools and strategies, but thus far... no one had gotten seriously hurt. The coordinated effort was having noticeable results.
Then Iris's warning came, and a monochrome ribbon of light appeared. The clustering that had been the source of their streength now made them vulnerable to attack. The ribbon wrapped around her ankles and pulled her to the ground. She landed next to a rainbow page (Eden) and Tsui and wheezed out in concern, "Are you both... okay?"

Egeria had avoided the random hissy fit but the ribbon. Really? She tripped up and sat on the floor like a sulking kid.
Egeria then decided to shout some words that really shouldn't have been shouted by a child of her age, but then she had Iris as a team leader and well she had just been kicked out of boarding school. It was also taking her longer to get up then she would have usually, but hissy fits always seemed like a good idea at the time!

(NOTE: No new damage rolls yet please if your character has tripped... I am just summarizing the results of what happened after my character tripped. Thanks for understanding, I will have an update later tonight <3 )
Despite giving out the warning, the true Princess had no idea what tactics the copy would take. Somehow the gray light had managed to snake its way under her dress and grab her by the ankle and pull her down with great force.
Later on she could dwell upon the tactics and eventually realize that the copy was not taking the opponents seriously. However, in that very moment, as Iris fell, her hand which had been gripping to her own rainbowy restraint popped open in surprise, causing her own Ribbon of color to vanish completely.
Within seconds of the fully colored princess hitting the ground, gray hands were already at her throat, aiming to crush her windpipes with its bare hands. The gray ribbon had vanished as all of the Shade's efforts went into ending the life of the real deal.
Rather than flail about or struggle, all Iris could do was desperately try to pry her own fingers underneath the Shade's.
Athene may have kept his feet, but others around him weren't so lucky the ribbon serving to knock them off their feet and he heard the clatter of something hitting the ground with a crash.
Tsui had been one of the ones knocked down and for a moment Athene looked anxiously over at his friend and fellow team mate and then he realised that the real Princess seemed to have been knocked off her feet by the monochrome Princess' attack.
Although he wanted to check on his friend, the fake-Princess seemed to be ignoring them in favour of going after the real Princess so instead Athene lunged in and swung out at the shade as hard as he could, his intention to try and get the thing's attention away from the Princess.

Victoria had managed to escape from the shade Iris as he jumped back. "Woahhh..." He shook his head as he watched her grin, he knew that rainbow... well he knew the colorful version not the shade. He wasn't sure he'd want a taste of the shade one.
"I don't know which I'm afraid of more, the real Iris or the shade one." He muttered to no one in particular as he regained his bearings.
Sailor Psyche had been the one to piss of the Princess Iris Shade off and yet she was not taking any punishment for it. It gave her plenty of time to scope out the area, maybe check to make sure ********* wasn't in any line of fire, and then observe carefully for a plan of action. She didn't know why but this course of action just felt right to the senshi of breath, like it was something she had done before.
One by one, the bodies fell to the ground around the battle's core as Psyche watched from the outside. She had been out of range, or out of mind, even though she had been the one that enraged it. Perhaps it was her reward for her clever thinking but having this time to observe the battle was key. It was hard to think when things were happening all around you and simply not being in the mess was quite helpful.
"Rainbowface!" She yelled out to her Captain.
Sailor Psyche knew that she needed to do something when she seen her comrade pinned underneath the Shade, her defenses growing weaker as the Shade attempted to secure its prize. Her face shifted from observation to rage and determination. She had promised to protect her Captain, her friend, and she wasn't going to fail her now! She did what Sailor Psyche knew best, taking advantage of the distance she had between them to get a good run and charge at the Shade with her body, attempting to tackle and then bear hug the Shade so Princess Iris could wiggle free.
Lenka had been absolutely shell shocked, that was the only reason for her inability to do anything. She was staring at the fight and just couldn’t understand what was even going on. Not only were there two princesses, but finally the true meaning of what a shade was became very clear. Very clear indeed.
It had taken a while, but the chibi finally shook her head roughly, pulling herself out of whatever trance she had been in and got ready. She couldn’t just stand there doing nothing! This thing was tripping everyone. It was time for her to help. To really try and help.
Maybe if the thing couldn’t move…but what could her attack do, really? Give the other senshi time to attack? Maybe. Maybe it would be something. She held up her hand and threw her watermelon rind hard at the shade. “Lenka binding boomarind!” She could only hope that it landed, and that she managed to provide something to the fight. She had really never felt so helpless before. All of these other senshi, they were all real senshi, and they seemed to have a lot of better powers than she did.
The magenta haired senshi, once he'd gotten his strategy figured out again, aimed a kick for the shade Iris' ribs. "Hey, pick on someone your own color!" He said, like it made a lot of sense.

Several of the opponents had fallen, but none seemed more important to the Shade than Iris. It might not have been the most vocal of creatures out there, but as it aimed to extinguish the Princess permanently, it let out a deep laugh, something far more wicked and sinister than Iris would ever let out.
However, once more something had to stubbornly sock the gray Princess square in the face. There had been a decent amount of force in the punch, and it had been caught off guard, but after the Shade's face had been forced into facing away from its prey, it continued laughing.
Slowly it turned to face Athene, angling its head in such a way that it could crack its own shoulders. The tarnished black eyes seemed eager to resume the pain. Before it could do anything about starting up the pain again, a gray-suited senshi had smashed into it, effectively shoving it several feet from the original spot. To make matters worse, the senshi had wrapped arms about it, as if to try and keep its arms to its side.
Freed from the assault for a brief moment, Iris gasped for air. However, she didn't allow herself the luxury of recovering. She already was staggering to get up to her feet. By the time she was on her feet, she managed to see Victoria kicking at the cluster of restraint and prisoner (Psyche + Shade!Iris). And as if to add insult to injury, the gray figure's face soon was covering in gooshy pink fruit.
It might have seemed odd that the fake princess wasn't struggling, but as it rolled its wrist, it called out once more "IRIS RAINBOW RIBBON!!" Rather quickly a fist was balled up again and another ribbon of colorless light seemed to fly out. However, this time instead of aiming low for the feet of its enemies, it latched onto the lamp which had landed close by. Soon enough the weapon was yanked by the gray-ribbon, aimed to smack the closest opponents in the face with it.
(Based upon actions up to this point, the following characters will need to roll a 4-sided dice: Psyche, Victoria, and Athene. If you roll an odd number, your character got hit by Eden's lamp. If you roll an even number, Eden's lamp missed your character. You may want to roll first, then edit whether the character got hit or not. All characters may roll for damage this round.)
Athene had put a decent amount of force into his punch and unlike the previous attempt he could feel it actually connect.
He'd gotten the thing's attention too, the Shade still laughing as those dark eyes turned to stare at him with a horrible look that served to come off as just plain creepy.
And then in quick succession more were coming to join in the attack, a senshi with grey in her outfit, a magenta-haired senshi and as if to offer a finishing touch what looked like a watermelon hit it.
All combined it was enough to knock the monochrome princess away from the original and Athene allowed himself a sigh of relief.
That moment of dropping his guard cost him, as that moment the shade called out 3 words that Athene was quickly coming to hate and although he tried to avoid the thing lashing out in his direction, he was too slow to avoid the lamp that went clunking into his side - the same side that the punch had connected with earlier.
The pain blooming in his side had caused Athene to hunch over with a pained gasp, that hit hard enough to ensure that he was going to have a 'lovely' bruise there, although he suspected that his side was probably already bruised from the earlier punch.
The pain was enough to ensure that Athene didn't immediately resume the attack, the dark-haired senshi waiting until it faded to a dull throb before trying to aim a kick to the thing's side, hoping as he did that the others that had been tripped earlier were okay.
He wasn't going to back down - he was going to fight as hard as he could.
