Maybe he was going too fast? "I'll come with you. How about we just take this nice and slow. Get re-aquianted. It's been so long right?" he smiled taking her hand. "I'm sorry there's just a lot of emotions flying around between us both right now. I'm sure being pregnant doesn't help with your emotions either. I didn't mean to dump on you so much."
Josh stared into her eyes. "Hey, how about we change the subject huh? Maybe lighten the mood? Tell me about your band, it's been forever since I've heard you play. I'll bet you're ten times better than you used to be huh?" he smiled letting go of her hand and sitting across from her again.
If she wasn't ready for love that was fine. They could get to know each other all over again. Josh could wait, Ruby wasn't one to just jump into things anyway, he should have known better.

Ruby was upset with the fact that she could've had a wonderful life with Josh for all those years they were separated from each other's lives. Maybe they would've been married now and her child would've been his and not some random guy who wanted to get laid. That's what depressed her, the baby would get in the way of everything. How could a guy raise someone else's child? And what guy would? Why couldn't they of been Josh's in the first place? Life was cruel like that sometimes. "Like I said, you can still come with us. We leave in a couple of days anyway so that leaves you a bit of time to sort out everything where your staying.. but be warned, we all kinda share hotel rooms.. but if you have enough money to rent your own then you're welcome to do that too"
He then started to talk about how her band life was going, which she really didn't mind talking about "Well, we had one studio album already. And as we tour we are working on the second one, which I think is going to be better then the first from what we have so far actually.. I guess you'll have to wait and hear us at the next show soon" she winked

"That sounds great. Oh and don't worry about everyone sharing a room." he said after finishing his meal. Josh would pay for their meals not because he thought she was poor and helpless, just because he wanted to. Ruby still looked upset about something and just when he was about to ask his cell phone rang.
"Uhh..I'm kind of in the middle of--Oh! Boss!" he said blushing with embarassment. Listening to the woman complain and such he turned his attention away from Ruby for a moment to get the phone call. Looking at his watch he sighed. "Alright, Alright! I'll be there at the meeting." he said hanging up.
"Sorry about that. Ruby I have to go. I want to stay and chat with you more but perhaps later? I've got a meeting, and I'll make sure to let my boss know that I'll be traveling with your band." he smiled softly then sighed. "I know, nothing will probably make anything better. I've hurt you in some way haven't I? I'm sorry Ruby..I really am." he said paying for their meal and leaving her to attend the meeting.
Josh felt horrible, he had to make it up to her. All those years, Josh had to do something to show her how sorry he was!

He hadn't been able to get a hold of Ruby, though he did pack his belongings and made sure it was the correct spot to meet her, and her bandmates. His boss was glad that Josh was able to find some band to track, and he was going to get a nice raise if he did a good job, but in his heart Josh really didn't feel good about it at all.
Over the course of the week he thought about Ruby and how maybe he should have spoken up when he was younger. All this time they had loved each other and were both too shy to say anything. Now she was knocked up with some guys baby. A guy that probably didn't care if he knocked her up or not.
As he stood there, Josh came to the conclusion that he would be there for Ruby during her pregnancy. To make up for all the years he was absent. That's why, he had arranged with his boss to travel with the band for three years. By the end of those three years if Ruby and him hadn't made up, or fallen in love, then he would just stay her friend and find some way to help her and her child. Though he would keep that a secret for nine months, so that she could focus on her music and he could focus on his journaling. Josh was going to make Ruby and her band a star! So help him!

Don't worry about sharing a room? He must of meant he would get his own room or something. She then felt a little bad that he paid for everything, considering she hardly ate. But what they talked about made her feel a little queasy, all the talk of secretly loving each other for years and only admitting it when it was probably too late, that's why she couldn't eat much. On seeing this, a waitress gave Ruby a paper bag to put her leftovers in.
Ruby waited as Josh took his call, she figured it was work with the fact he kept saying 'Boss'. "Sure, that's fine.. work is more important" she smiled softly "I'll call you or something when we are going to leave this town" Ruby told him just before he left. Once gone, she sat there in the booth for a few more minutes, trying to make sense of everything that had happened..

The scummy looking van pulled up near where Josh was standing, waiting with his luggage. But, Ruby didn't seem to leave the van, was she even in there? "Hey errr Josh is it?" one of the guys called out, taking all the empty cans of beer out of the van so it was cleaner for the new arrival. "Ruby said she will meet up with us later.. she had to go meet this couple or something.. we have to go pick her up in half an hour I think"

Josh gave a nod to the roadie as he entered the van. He didn't have much with him so he softly set his suitcase down. Sitting on one of the sofas he could feel their eyes burning into him a bit.
As the door closed, the burly drummer stared at him cracking his knuckles a bit. "Listen Journalist! Our leader was a bit messed up sad after the lunch you had a week ago. We've agreed to let you come along on her behalf. Yet if you break her heart, we'll pound you into the pavement so bad that it'll take years for you to recover! It's bad she got knocked up by that fan. You stay out of her buisness and write, or else! Got it?" he stated now holding Josh by the collar of his shirt.
"Uhh..y-yeah I-I got'cha!" he muttered a bit terrified now. The drummer smirked and tossed him back onto the couch just as the van began to move. They all turned from him and began to talk amongst themselves. Josh sat there wondering if this was a good idea after all.
What of Ruby? She wasn't putting the baby up for adoption was she? The van pulled up to a nice looking house by the time the half hour rolled by. Josh sat there feeling lower than dirt. Everything was his fault, all of it! If only he had spoke up when they were younger! It was now he realized how much pain he had caused Ruby. Reality sometimes took a burly drummer to get a point across.

The bassist who was driving that day rolled his eyes at the drummer. Drummer were always hot headed and usually the scary ones, so it wasn't a surprise that he acted on what everyone thought. They were mostly pretty annoyed with how Ruby was dumped like the drop of a hat by every man that got close, men just wanted her because she was in a rock band so was going to be protected by her band mates. And this journalist has hurt her in some way clearly by her mood when she came back from her meal out with Josh.
He drove them to a supermarket to get supplies of junk food, more beer of course and some soft drinks for Ruby. The guys loved their booze but never thought that it wasn't fair on Ruby by drinking it in front of her.
Once everything was sorted out, it was time to go pick Ruby up. They stopped off outside a large house, Ruby was standing by the door still talking it seemed. She didn't look like her normal self, all prettied up with a sundress and curly hair. "I think we should wait here till she is done"

Josh stared in awe at her, through the window. Ruby was so beautiful. In the dress you could hardly tell she was pregnant at all. Is that how she would have dressed if they married long ago? A cute little sun dressed, pregnant wife? That thought made him blush a bit.
After some time he noticed they were done talking and turned away, sitting up straight on the couch, when she began to walk down the drive and towards the van.

(no no that's fine! You did exactly what I knew you would (: i can read ya mind now!!! lol jk)
Once she finished her conversation and said he goodbyes to whoever owned the grand looking home. They gave her what looked like to be a gift, all wrapped up and a folder on paperwork it seemed. As Ruby turned around to make her way to the van it was clear that all her piercings were taken out too and she had very feminine make that made her look natural and not like some crazed rock chick. A few of the band members tried not to snicker as she got closer, they had never seen her look like that before and treated her more like a best bud then a girl. "yeah yeah, laugh it up.. ha ha.. you look like a girly girl, yes I know.." she rolled her eyes with a very put on smile.
As she slide the van door open she saw Josh sitting there, "Oh you made it!.. I hope the guys haven't roughed you up or anything"

(lol nuuuuuuu!!! reading my mind is a bad skill to have! Dx! lol xD you never know what lurks in my mind >.>;; )
Josh looked up and blushed. While the other guys laughed it up he thought she looked beautiful. Of course, he had seen her in a dress before, they had gone to a prom together, as friends, long ago.
"You look pretty..." he said looking up at her. The guys just kind of ignored them both as the van pulled out of the drive. For a while Josh was quiet, racked with guilt.
Looking up he noticed she was staring at him. Taking a deep breath he smiled softly. "Hey...I'm sorry. Ruby, about everything...I-I'm sorry. This is all my fault, please let me make,my absence in your life, up to you!" he said softly to her. Looking away he slouched foreward a bit.
"I've been thinking..ever since we met again. I hope you've been doing alright, you never really returned any of my calls since our outing. From now on, even if we aren't always together, after this journalist thing is over with I want to be there for you. Ruby, I will always be here if you want to talk or catch up. I'll be a phone call away. I want to get back into your life, you're my friend after all. I'm afraid I haven't been a very good one to you..can you ever forgive me Ruby?" he asked regret in his eyes. Josh had to let that out and didn't care if he was going to get beat up or not.

Pretty? Ruby couldn't help but chuckle at the compliment as she climbed in and took her spot on a beaten up looking bean bag in front of Josh. It looked kind of unsafe with people sitting in the back with nothing to protect them from accidents, but that was the way of a small band. "Thanks but I kind of feel strange looking like this really. I swear this is how I used to dress when I was a young teen right?" Ruby joked, trying to put everything that had happened behind them both. That was until Josh started saying sorry for it all over again.
With a sigh, she removed the gift and the folder from her lap so she could talk to him better. "You don't have to be sorry, it was probably my hormones going nuts and making all emotional like a little girl... life takes people in different directions and ours just went far away from eachother" she smiled lightly, patting his hand. "No need to make it up to me, I'm just glad you came. Maybe you'll get your big break as a writer with us hmm? So many bands will want you to join them after this I bet"

He took her hand and smiled. She was right, if Ruby was willing to put it behind her, then Josh would just have to as well. "Totally! Though I'll do the best I can to make your band famous all around the world! That is what you want after all right?" he smiled happily.
He wasn't going to ask her about the folder nor the gift. Josh respected her privacy. "Also, I remember how much you would complain about wearing the dresses you wore. You said you hated them, but then would drag me to the mall just to buy more." he laughed. "I spent many of my summers broke too, our mall trips usually emptied my wallet! Still I had fun, we should go to a mall or something sometime." he smiled trying to be his old self around her.
"Anyway Ruby, how do you find time to practice? There doesn't seem to be much room in here." he said with curiosity.

"Make my band famous?" she raised her brow with a smile. "Oh I highly doubt that will every happen, but it's sweet of you to think so" Ruby gave his hand a little squeeze as he held it. The other guys saw this little moment between the two and gave a glare, not that she noticed, just always ignored them.
With a blush she remembered exactly what Josh was talking about "Yeah I know.. but like you said, you had fun so in the end spending all your money on stuff you probably never needed was a good thing!"
How did she have the time to practise? With a smirk, she let go of his hand and crawled over to him, her lips so close to his. Ruby was silent for a few moments before saying; "Could you shuffle a little? My guitar is under this sofa" she explained, it seemed as though you could store stuff inside it.

Josh swallowed, since when did she have such a wild look in her eyes? Blushing a bit deeper shade of red, he wondered if she was just toying with him on purpose. "O-Oh s-sure thing!" he said slowly getting up and allowing Ruby to grab her guitar.
He was caught between a hormonal woman and her band mates that probably wanted to beat him up anyway regardless. Josh wondered how she would be once the pregnancy really kicked in and it was too obvious to hide.
(I figure the guys would hate him for a while, but warm up to him when Josh and Ruby grow closer together in love and the pregnancy. I assume you had her try to set up to have her child become adopted? :3)

(yeah you hit the nail on the head with that one lol.. gonna have her meet random couples along the way until he susses what's going on n asks about it lol)
"You're so easy to tease you know that" Ruby laughed, lifting up a section of the sofa to collect her prized guitar. It was one she had for many years and even had some stickers stuck all over it that Josh might of recognized when they were younger. She had kept it all those years they were apart.
"Well, I always keep this lovely near me where ever I go" she explained, pulling the notepad out that was strapped underneath the strings. "And this is where I write everything of course"

"Wow you've still got that!?" he asked with slight surprise. Josh had bought her most of the stickers. Scooting closer he softly touched the guitar and smiled. So many memories. Some of the stickers were from the concerts she dragged him too. Others were, "just cause".
Looking into her eyes he smiled. "That's right, we never did finish this did we? Wasn't is our goal to cover this thing up with stickers?" he blushed remembering something so silly.
His curiosity getting the better of him again, when he saw the notepad, he couldn't help but ask, "Are there any new songs you're currently writing Ruby?"
