Now the questions were getting even further afield. They were trangentially related to their training... but Serpentine could not see the purpose of the conversation. He was too far invested now to retreat without perhaps permanently losing a sparring partner. He might not approve of the other Captain's methods, but perhaps he was working his way towards a point. If not, he could always leave him later.

For now, he answered the invastive question with a defensive gesture. He folded his arms over his chest. "Some. I have learned most via experience."

Two years. Two years without a sparring. And instead doing... 'beach parties' and 'fun runs'? Serpentine's eyes narrowed in distaste, but it was not directed at his sparring partner. He, too, had been frustrated at the lack of direction he had received as a lieutenant, at some of the decisions and punishments he had had to endure. Overall, however? He was satisfied with how he had responded to those challenges and to the changes he now saw forming.

Perhaps Realgar's anger was a result of being pushed too often in the incorrect ways that had frustrated the taciturn Captain as well. An additional year of fumbling, of seeking order in the Chaos... yes, he could understand his frustration. If his guesses were correct, then there was only one appropriate thing to offer. "Any time."

A small, subtle, but obvious invitation for a rematch any time Realgar felt he had need. The two of them had learned much from their little meeting. The worm of discontent he had seen? Serpentine tucked the knowledge away, for now. Suspicion was also part of their Negaverse relationship, was it not?
