His frustration was... rewarded, in a way. Abandons Fear paused as something somewhat shiny caught his eyes, and he peered closer, eyes narrowing. "A... talon... Dead Eyes's talon?" Perhaps... There was a more clever way to go about this. Cautiously, Abandon rose up onto his hooves, nursing his latest wound, and frowned quietly. Drawing back, Abandons Fear let himself drop down onto the ground. He crouched, and peered at the roots of the thick vines... and found another clue. A patch of blood... and some of his own fur. Reaching into the vines yielded yet another surprise- a strange tooth, partially crushed, along with his fur and blood. Puzzled, Abandon tucked it away. As he tugged out the clues... Abandon felt a sharp sting, and hissed, jerking back his hoof. He was startled slightly when his movement made some of the vines cave away, and reveal what appeared to be some kind of pale brown fur... It smelled vaguely catty. Stepping back, getting ready to charge the vines again, Fear felt one of his back hooves press into something... wet. Turning around, and lifting his hoof up, he found a bit of rather stringy meat, and frowned. Picking up the meat, putting it in his pouch, Fear felt a new rush of energy, and lowered his head. He charged forth, snorting, and suddenly... he was through, and running into a shallow creek. Unfortunately, his blood was attracted a rather... unwanted creature. Satisfied the fish wouldn't be biting at his ankles anymore, Abandon turned his attention to the steep bank before him. Before he could even begin upwards... the song bird pushed something from the top down to him. A cat's tail- a big cat. Probably a mountain lion, it would seem. Was that another patch of big cat fur? Why, yes, yes it was, with a feather tangled in it. Scrambling up to it, Abandons Fear sniffed at it. Dead Eyes. There... up above, a broken branch, with a small cluster of down feathers on it. Perhaps the big cat had leapt down onto Dead Eyes from above...
