Nora nodded weakly and a petted Yuuka's head as if to reassure her. "I am sure she would have loved for you to be there, but she was always happy to hear you were still m"She married my stepfather a year or so before she passed away, so I was left to his care. He works most of the day, and I don't see him much. My three brothers tend to be out and about, ... I'm mostly left to my own."
The delinquent took a deep breath to stop whatever tears wanted to make it out. "Despite what most believe. I do well in my classes. The school is pretty competitive; even Delinquents and dead beats manage a C average. I manage As and Bs."
--->
"Rust uh...?-- Don't take any medication!" Seijin suddenly said,"It always turns out its not enough and the doses get absurdly high-- just don't , hear me?" The teacher sipped some more of her coffee thoughtfully.
"What do you mean the cards mock you, Samantha?" Seijin asked,"The more you tell me the more I'll be ready to help you as I may. "
-->
"I am glad you like the furniture, my mother spends days picking things whenever she decides to redecorate the rooms," Maria waved a hand, smiling at how cute Lucy looked, almost like a kitten! The kendo captain closed her eyes for a moment,"I gotta hand it to her; she does know how to pick-..."
With a few seconds of silence, Maria seemed to have fallen asleep!

"At least... at least you still had a home to go to... and I'm impressed, that... that it didn't affect your grades..!" Yuuka stepped back a little, wiping away tears with her hands and sniffling. The loss of such a good person was hard to bear, but she could only imagine what Nora herself had gone through... and was still going through. She looked around, taking a moment to compose herself, when an idea hit her.
Yuuka spun on her heel, and looked the young student straight in the face. "I know this is sudden, but perhaps... you would like to live with me? There is no rent, you would only have to pay for what you ate and used, and... to be honest, it is quite lonely in this large house. I wouldn't mind putting you up, if that's something that appeals to you..."
---
"Medi-..cation..?" Samantha droned, eyes slowly rolling to follow her teacher's movements. "..... I hate.... pills..." She slowly sat up, setting the coffee down on the desk and instead focused on the cards in her hand. She then suddenly threw them onto the ground, letting them scatter once more. A few of them landed faced up, depicting a number of grotesque things: a hallway, seemingly corroded and flesh-like, with pustules and growths; sets of teeth arranged in many deformed mouths, twisted up in bloody grins; a lone child with black hair, standing, their back turned and with a bloodied tool griped in their hand.
"...They... make me... sick..." It wasn't clear if she was being literal or speaking in a figurative sense. She then reached up to draw back her hood, revealing a her once raven-black hair had began to turn stark white, like the cold snow in the dead of winter. Small patches of her black hair could be seen still, but they were very few and far between, and there also appeared to be dried blood matted in her hair as well.
---
"Pick...?" Lucy waited for Maria to continue, finally turning to look at her friend. The poor thing had fallen asleep, how cute! Smiling, Lucy hopped off the chair and went over to the young woman, kneeling before her and watching for a moment, giggling to herself. "O, fair maiden," she whispered to herself in her theatrics, hands clasped to her heart, "what illness hath befallen ye? Hark, let us away into the sweet slumber of thine own, and... and..." stumped, Lucy leaned down to peck the girl on the cheek, before slipping off her own jacket and using it to cover Maria up.
"Sweet dreams~"

"Believe or not, I like school,... I just don't like the people in it," Nora shrugged,"Most of them come from rich and wealthy families , I never really belonged there , even if my mother said I did." She rubbed the back of her head," I just did good because of mom; she'd be sad if I didn't."
"What?" Nora blinked at Yuuka, raising an eyebrow, a bit taken aback by the very sudden Idea.
It sinked in and Nora's shoulders raised,"Wait, you don't mean---" The delinquent held out her hands as she spoke, gesticulating as she spoke: "Waitwaitwait, wouldn't that get you in trouble with the school? I mean , I'm a student and all!... N-not that I wouldn't like that, Erm! I wouldn't want anything more than get out of the house-- I know I'm eigtheen but my wage could never get me even a study- none those guys are my family; eeeh except Mo I guess! He's cool - He'd be the only one i's even talk to '--- Not the point! Hai! I'd love to live with you, honest, but I don'r want to cause you problems! Its just... one more year till I can really get out of there without so much problem-"
The delinquent saw her backpack,"But maybe... Maybe ..?" She pointed to her backpack, trying to formulate her idea
--->
"Good stay away from them," Seijin advised. She listened to Samantha speak and sit up, taking a small step back to avoid the cards that scattered at her feet. The teacher crouched down to pluck and look at a few of the cards. Their pictures were indeed a bit disturbing to look at compared to the grassy mountain ones she herself possessed.
The teacher looked as Samantha finally removed her hood, making her stand up and look curiously at the patches of white in the student's hair. Seijin dropped the cards and began to ruffle about Sammy's hair," .... No horns or ears or anomalies. Good. We can say you dyed your hair. Summer break is in a week, are you staying on campus?"
The teaher's mind was spinning possible outcomes and explanations, for now the changes in Samantha were controllable. If the student staid in the school she could take care of her during those months.
--->
"What are you doing?" Ruby was at the door. The youngest sibling was now wearing a pair of track shorts and a tank top, "Don't go doing weird things to my sister while she sleeps."
She walked up to stand behind the couch Maria had fallen asleep in, her arms crossed under her chest," And if you meant half the stuff you just spewed; Maria has been like this for a few weeks now, far as I know, she's just been running out the clock till summer break."
"I hear she wants to stay on campus, since our parents are going to stay abroad till they close the deal in Borabora and Fiji," Ruby explained, putting her hands on her hips. She honestly didn't mind Lucy, not deep down anyway. It was of the few friends Maria had; the others being the shorty who was about to graduate, the captain of the track team, of the weight lifting team, the archery team, a girl who was member of her kendo team and of course, Lucy. " She's been worrying Samuel and I; she's been coming home on , well, collapsing on the couch," She added.
"But... I think having you around makes her feel better," Ruby sighed as if it were hard to admit, crossing her arms for a second before putting a hand on her hip and tilting her waist a bit, "So do Samuel and I a favor, and please look out for her like you always do? ... Maria isn't as strong as she puts out to be, and she needs someone to constantly be after her a** about taking care of herself."

"I suppose it would be a problem, if someone were to catch us..." Yuuka began, cradling her chin between thumb and index finger in thought. "But as far as anyone else knows, I live alone here. My parents still live on the farm, and with my aunt's passing... I really have no family left. Nor do I have many friends outside of my fellow colleague, so... Well, nobody will notice if there is or isn't someone else living here! Besides," she followed Nora's eyes, to the bag containing her brother's clothes, "If it's a problem, you could always resort to your disguise to move about." She smiled. "I think my home is closer to the school than yours is, so that would also mean less time spent in transit!"
---
Samantha was quiet as Seijin ruffled at her hair, though she seemed to freeze in place again. It was obvious she didn't like to be touched.
"G... Great. As if... I need any other reason..." She pulled up her hood again. "... Yeah, I'll be here. I don't... have anywhere else to go, so... I might as well... stay."
---
Lucy jumped, hopping to her feet and a short distance away from Maria. "Um, nothing! Not that it's your business anyway!" She said in a hushed voice, sticking her tongue out at Maria's sister. She relaxed her expression, however, as Ruby began to explain Maria's worsening condition.
"...She's always pushing herself way too hard, worrying about this or that. I try to help, I really do! Sometimes it just makes her grumpier, but it makes me feel good when I can make her smile! But, I didn't realize how bad she had gotten..." She walked over to where Ruby stood, taking the girl's hands, "I promise I'll take good care of her! No matter what I have to do, no matter what it takes to make her smile! You can count on me! ...And thanks for trusting me. I'll stay on the campus too, that way I can look after her! Besides, my parents are usually busy anyway, so... well it's not like they'll notice me gone! Haha..!"

"Wearing that get up would be so worth it to be here!" Nora grinned giving Yuuka a huge enough to lift the teacher,"Thank you!" It was such a nice offered and above all, Nora would also have company! "Traffic? There isn't much of that when you owe a bike!"
----
"Alright we can worry about solving that with you around in the campus. I am staying here as well, to keep an eye on the other kids staying here," Seijin responded, taking her cup of coffee and taking a sip.
"Try to not stress to much about those details, just do your best not to go crazy, please?'
----
"Thank you, Lumine, you know you mean alot to her and all that," Ruby nodded, then took her hands and crossed her arms,"Just don't tell anyone I told you that."

Inexplicably one week later...
Yuuka was ready this time. With school now out for the summer, and the only students remaining were those few seeking extra credit, the tension at work had decreased drastically, meaning she herself was able to relax a bit more fully. She checked her wrist watch. Nora would be in her disguise by now, and should be along shortly. Yuuka took the time to make sure she had all her belongings from her desk, then swiftly left the classroom, locking it behind her.
---
The day was over, and Samantha was already back in her dorm. The lights were dim, matching the setting sun, and the young student in question was currently slung over her desk, looking rather dead. She was already half asleep, her deck of cards resting under her cheek as she rested. She wasn't concerned for them, even if she drooled, because she knew that, unfortunately, they would be absolutely fine.
---
"C'mon Maria, let's go back to the dorms and get you rested!" A certain bubbly blonde tugged at her friend's arm, albeit gently, as they went down a hall. "We've been out late enough, you need to rest! You're still sick, you know! I made a promise to take care of you!" Lucy paused for a moment, and then inexplicably added, "A promise to myself I mean!"

"Hey~"
The tall 'man' stood, or rather, leaned on the wall next to Yuuka's door. "Happy to be out of school for the summer?" He smiled slyly, a backpack slung on his shoulder, though as Mo pushed off the wall her rubbed the back of his head,"Any idea what's up with your fellow students? It looks like a couple of them already wanna double date with us." He shrugged,"They are weird."
"Anyway! Before any of them come along or something, are you ready?" Her companion took Yuuka's taking her things into his arms,"I'll take a-that~ "
---
Outside of Sammy's door there was a knock.
Standing there was a white-ish haired, with a pair of large round glasses that had a chain that led to the breast pocket of her neat and clean school uniform. To her chest she had a few of books organized by size, and even then her backpack looked a bit bloated.
After a small pause she shifted nervously on her spot, waiting for Samantha to answer the door.
---
"Wait a second--" Maria did her best to keep up, but she was having a little difficulty. "I-... I have been taking care of myself-... There's no need for you to do all this," The kendo captain was a bit out of breath, and the trip to their dorms seemed eternal. They got there eventually, and Maria was more than happy. Once they stopped she fixed her messenger bag and propped it up on her shoulder.
"I'm fine really-" Maria smiled best she could,"Just tired is all!....You are staying on campus too?" To be honest, her thoughts were at stray, but the question was more of a reassurance to her. She simply needed to hold to that safety line.

"Yes, I am!" Yuuka replied with a smirk, turning to face her companion. "Ah, the students...? I cannot say, perhaps because they know I am young, or to get me to like them better? To be honest, a few of the faculty have seemed unusually interested as well... I suppose it's because they've never seen me around anyone before." She laughed as Mo took her things, "I was never the social butterfly, though I'm sure you know that already. I didn't hang out with many people, or anything like that. But, maybe that's what landed me this job; who's to say?"
---
There was a sudden pounding. Samantha wearily opened her eyes, though not moving her head from the desk. The pain was mounting, like a nail being driven into the back of her skull, each knock becoming the hammer. She clutched at her head, slowly rising from the desk, bloodshot eyes snapping left to look at the door. It took a moment, but through the fog and confusion, she realized the banging was coming from the door. Who could possibly want what from her and why the ******** should she care?
Samantha rose with a speed fueled by some unknown anger, sending her chair across the room as she rose. Nearly pouncing the door, she began to fumble with the locks hurriedly and, once unlocked, swiftly pried the door open.
"What?!" She looked angry, eyes glaring out from inside her hood. She didn't realize it, but she must have also collected her cards at some point, as they were gripped tightly in her fist, almost bending them. "Who. Are.. you?"
---
Lucy smiled at Maria, propping closed fists onto her hips, looking quite proud of herself. "Yup! I kinda slacked off a lot, so maybe this way I can catch up! Besides, who else is gonna look after you if I don't come along, huh? You need to take better care of yourself!" She shook a closed fist to her raven-haired friend before opening her door for her. "My room is just a couple doors down, so I'll always be nearby if you need something, okay! Ooh, I can't wait to decorate my room! I brought some of my posters from home and my mangas, and there's this really neat thing in a magazine I want to try..." The blonde turned away, giggling to herself.
"Anyway! Do you need any help getting comfy in your new room?" She snuck a peek into Maria's room, "It doesn't look like you've done much in it yet..."

"Uh, I guess you are right," Mo nodded at her, " One of these days, I'll show up with my guitar and sing you something, just so your teacher-friends lose it~ " He chuckled as he bowed theatrically and offered his hand to take Yuuka's,"Afterall, a gentleman's job is to spoil his lady~"
----
"A-ah!" Heidi blinked down at Sammy, who despite being an inch or so shorter than her managed to give her the chills. Quickly collecting herself, she cleared her throat,"I am Heidi.... Uh- I am from your ... Calc class. I am also staying on campus so I was wondering if, uh.... You'd like to study and do Ms. Kazuko's assignments together? " She pushed her glasses after a small fumble with her books.
"I even got some extra guide-books incase... incase we get stuck on one of them-" She smiled warmly, as if trying to relax Samantha,"Erm, though Ms. Kazuko will be around, we can always ask her I guess..."
---- "You really need to be as diligent about your homework as you are about your hobbies," Maria sighed, but had to smile through her exhaustion at Lucy's usual enthusiasm. "Really? You should show me what room it is before I forget the number...."
Maria peeked in after Lucy into her own room,"Uh, I guess you are Right.... Haven't done much with it. " Sure the room had her books packed in it, and a nice desk to go along with the bed and whatever simple furniture was round, but there really was nothing that exemplified anything about its occupant,"I've... Just been to tired and busy to bother with it."
Maria went inside her room and threw her bag onto the chair of her desk, "I been coming here just to sleep after all. Hasn't been enough time to go crazy with the decorations."

Yuuka laughed, "Oh, you are simply embarrassing! But that would certainly be a sight to see. Just imagining the jealous look on all their faces certainly has its appeal... hehehe." She took Mo's offered hand and walked with him down the hall.
"Say... 'Mo', how have you been since... you know." She leaned in a little closer, "With... the cards." Further down the hall, she went on to say, "I've began to feel faint traces of their presence again... the presence of cards different than our own. I fear new decks are beginning to appear."
---
"H... Heidi...?" Samantha paused, blinking. She held a hand to her head, bracing herself against the door frame. "Yeah... recognize you. Rich girl... right?" She rubbed at her eyes then stepped to one side. "Alright... come in." Hadn't she been holding cards a moment ago?
Samantha walked back towards center of the room. It consisted of three main visual aspects; a sitting area, which was made up of a couch, television and television stand and a small, wobbly coffee table; a large desk with a rather large computer setup next to her bed; and a large window on the opposite side of where the door was.
"Make yourself at home..." she said, lazily arranging pillows on the couch somewhat more neatly.
---
"Oh Maria, don't worry! I do study hard! ... Okay, sometimes! I just get distracted so easily, I just can't help myself~"
After Maria walked in, Lucy followed, going over to the girl's bed and flopping across it. "Soooofffft! You have the best stuff, Maria!" She began to roll in Maria's bed, taking up the blanket with her until she ended up looking not unlike a burrito. "Hehehe~ Don't worry Maria, with my help we'll have this place looking amazing!" She poked her head out of the covers, "How about a hot tub?!"

"It really does~" Mo chuckled back, taking Yuuka's hand and accompanying her down the hallway. He looked sideways at Yuuka as the teacher asked about the cards,"Well, I've been fine. I got the whole smoking thing under control; It was hard but I got it outta my system I guess. Other than that, the whole... power....." He smiled at Yuuka letting a single eye turn orange,"Its cool too."
When the teacher mentioned more, however, the eye returned to blue, and Mo's smiled turned into a small frown," New decks? You mean they are showing up?.... Don't tell me there is going to be a part two?" ----
"Y... yes," She spoke a bit disappointed,"The Rich Girl." Did anyone ever bother to ask? Heidi had gotten in the school on a free ride because of her grades, no because her family was paying it all. But whatever got her remembered, she supposed.
Shyly she came inside into Samantha's simple room; was this why 'Rich' was the first thing to jab at Heidi? She set the books carefully on the coffee table."I can... reinforce this table if you want, I am handy with tools," the bespectacled student offered,"Your room is cozy."
----
"You should work on your attention span then," Maria took her jacket off, placing it on the chair as well and rolling her shoulders,"Well I am okay with it the way it is. I can't think of anything to add to it, to be honest...."
She moved to stand in front of the desk, back to the Lucy burrito as she flipped open her laptop and started typing for this or that. "Uh.... My parents are still MIA as far as keeping up with us; guess they are too busy runnin' 'round Fiji to worry about the three children they have," She clicked here and there,"On the upside, Katherine seems to be enjoying the time off with her daughter... what was her name... Rosemary?... Can't remember.... She says 'Hi' by the way." Maria closed the laptop after that and placed inside what would have been the rolling compartment for a desktop computer's keyboard. "You do know a hot tub is several feet wide and many more long, right? .... That's why our showers have a little tub. I think its the same deal if you fill it with hot water."
The reporter went into the little mini-fridge tucked under the desk and pulled out two cold waters,"Uh no fruit juices yet, ran out last week, sorry." Maria put one on her night table for Lucy to take when she pleased and wasn't rolled up in her blanket.

"I cannot say for sure just yet... They seem to be isolated events, and it is difficult to fully pick up on their signature. I can't tell which students have decks, but I can tell that these are new, and there are still some at school."
Once outside, Yuuka took a deep breath, enjoying the fresh air. "I can supply a list of students that are staying at school over the summer. We should make it our duty to watch them for any changes."
---
"The table...?" Samantha cocked her head in Heidi's direction, then down at the table. The poor thing was a hand me down, she couldn't even remember where she had gotten it from, and it had always been wobbly "...Ah, thanks... there isn't much to it, but... It's home."
Still woozy, Samantha made her way back to her desk and sat down, crossing her arms on the table and leaning her head into them. "S... Sure, do what you want... You can try fixing it." She groaned into the desk. "My head..."
---
"Kathyyyy!!" Lucy wiggled in the blanket, flailing her arms and kicking her legs with joy. "I haven't gotten to see her in ages! Tell her I said hi, too! I miss her a lot, she's soooo cool! Not even Miss Kazuko is as cool as Kathy!" Slowly, she began to crawl out of the bedding, snaking her way out. "But... you can't have a bunch of people in a bath tub! It would get awfully cramped and-- ooh water!" She reached out to take the bottle, though reached past her balancing point and fell out of the bed with a light thud.
"Ow!" Now upside down and with her legs still on the bed, Lucy propped her hands behind her head and smiled up at Maria. "Sooo what do you wanna do? We could play video games!"

"Of course, Yuuka, " Mo responded,"If we have to, we will stay on campus. We both know how dangerous these things can be, specially if the affected go without help or support."
"As long as the cases are isolated, we have the chance to take care of it quietly and on our own, before anyone is involved or hurt," he added , holding Yuuka's hand tigthly.
--- "Well I'd need the tools and all, so...." Heidi chuckled nervously as Samantha went and say with her head on the desk. "Are you okay?" She stood and went over to her host quietly,"Uhm.... let me see... I think I have something for headaches in my bag. I uh,... suffer of migraines..."
Heidi went back to the couch, digging through her backpack for the medicine and water bottle,"My dad is a psychiatrist, so he is really knowledgeable about this sorta stuff...."
---
"I will I will, don't worry, she always asks about you," Maria smiled, going about finding comfortable Pajamas or something. She turned only as Lucy fell and tried to play cool, she laughed while her other hand rubbed her own shoulders, "I am no good with video-games but I am willing to try." She snickered a bit more before she gave a small grimace.
Shaking it off she put her bottle on her desk and went towards the drawer of her nightstand. Out she pulled a container, and shaking a few of the tablets , Maria popped them into her mouth and downed them with a mouthful of water. The kendo captain wiped at her mouth before giving a sigh and sitting down by Lucy,"What are we gonna play?"
"I have Samuel's... whatyamacallit, ... Zblock or 90 degree angle or something like that.... There's two controllers and he's got a buncha games," Maria nodded at the small flat screen TV,"The console is all hooked up. He did it for me since he came and visited a short while and was just determined to get me into a hobby that wasn't academic."
".... I don't like playing alone though."

"Indeed." She gave a squeeze back. "I believe that is our best course of action. If at all possible, we need to contain and hopefully destroy the new decks, without harming their owners."
Yuuka reached into her bag hooked on Mo's arm and withdrew a set of keys, holding them out. "Here, I had these made for you. I've... somewhat been planning on your cooperation. These keys will get you into both my home, and my classroom. It'll be easier for the both of us to maneuver about. We may need to post watches at alternate intervals, and..." she paused, blushing lightly. "... Ahem. Sorry, it's weighed heavily on my mind lately, so I've taken every precaution I can think of. And you're the only one I can trust with this, Nora."
---
"Migraines...?" Samantha half-muttered into her sleeve. The sound of Heidi's footsteps alone was thunderous. This girl doesn't know anything, does she? With a bit of effort, Samantha pushed herself up from the desk, groaning lightly. "It's not what you..." she went to stand up, only to stumble back into the chair. "... Nevermind... I have tools in the closet if you want..."
---
"Oh, you mean the X Square! That's soooo last gen, but it's cool! Retro games are the best! Way better than those dumb games like Call of War or whatever." Lucy flipped right-side up on the floor, crawling towards the TV and dove towards the stand it sat upon, taking up the controllers and passing one to Maria. "C'mon, we'll play whatever's in the tray! Let's go, let's go!"
Lucy then moved to sit on her knees, her feet tucked neatly under her rear. She wiggled back and forth with anticipation as she turned the console and television on. Both machines hummed to life, and the logos of the companies involved with the game began to flash on screen.
"Hey... Maria? What are those pills you took?" She asked casually, yet with more than a hint of worry, as she watched the title screen unfold (ahh, "The Adventures of Goggles the Mole!"? A classic!) "I've never seen you take pills before. Are you okay?"

Mo watched Yuuka as she pulled out the keys and handed him the set. "Keys to your home and class?" The man smiled," Of course I'll help, no need to even ask." He chuckled and pecked her forehead,"Its cute to see you so dedicated to a subject, or anything like that for the matter~"
He pocketed the keys ,grinning,"And the blush is a plus." Resuming their walk out or about, Mo continued,"You can consider my help enlisted.... What about the other teachers with cards? Are they in on this?"
---- "I uhm-...." Heidi retreated closing her bag, feeling the tension and apparent annoyance coming from Samantha. The small box of cards in her pocket was shoved to the side as she placed her water bottle into the bag. "I uhm..... will go to my dorm. I am two dorms down, if you need anything. You seem tired, so .... I will just go-"
She stood and began to gather her belongings,"You should rest, Samantha, you look tired...."
----
"Uh? What?... Oh those?" Maria fiddled with the controller in her hands before setting the game to multiplayer. "It's just some medicine for back pain....My back has been hurting , that's all," Maria responded , picking a character from the roster to play as," Its pretty much those medicines you use for headaches and everything."
