"Thanks! Cucumber water is pretty good too. It's like.. Water is really cool and refreshing on it's own, but adding cucumber just makes it even more so!"

"Yeah.. I just have a feeling, you know? That maybe I won't make it that far.. With the dangers of this city, and just.. I don't know, maybe I'm just being weird, but I just feel like I'll disappear soon." He held his own sandwich low in his lap, staring at it for a moment.

"Hey, Emry.. We're friends.. Right? You'd miss me if I vanished, right?" That PROBABLY was quite the loaded question to just lay onto someone, but the more he had begun to think about his defection to the Dark Mirror Court, the more he thought about his family, his friends missing him. Granted, he only had two friends, Emry and Scott.. And his own parents, well, they didn't even know he was around anymore, at this point. How would he even break it to them, if he vanished..? Could they still be friends after that?

Emry's brows furrowed.

"Just...disappear? Are you talking about human trafficking?"

His mind immediately went to the Knights, who he was convinced were involved in such things, particularly from the reports he heard of the events in the Surrounding.

"Is someone threatening you?"

Isha's replies and questions were troubling. Something didn't synch up. It was one thing to fear possible abduction-slash-oblivion, but asking what other people felt about it made it sound like more of a choice.

"Sure, I'd be upset if you vanished. Wouldn't your family? Whouldn't you be sad if you disappeared?"

"Human trafficking? What, No! No, no no! Nothing like that, no, not at all!" He held his hands up waving them before him. "I just.. No, it's not disappearing, no not entirely, something else.. Fuu, forget it, no, it's nothing! It was stupid to even ask!"

What had he even been thinking?! He couldn't just tell someone what what was going on, even if it was a friend!

"It was a loaded question. There was no way for you to honestly answer that, huh? I bet I sound suicidal or something now, doesn't it?" Crossing his arms behind his head, he leaned backwards, laying back with his legs still dangling off of the side of the rock, staring up at the light that was filtering down from between the leaves of the trees above them both. The sounds of nature, just the leaves rustling, and occasional calls of the birds, it was all so peaceful.. A long needed and welcomed peace.

"I think.. Maybe I wouldn't be so sad if I disappeared. Going away on an adventure as someone completely new. Somewhere where I can feel free from being a simple 'trophy child', and have an identity that I created all my own, not forced upon me. Would my family be sad.. Probably, but they'd adopted a new child to replace me in an instant, I bet. That's what happened when I was no longer a wee little baby anymore. And to be honest.. I don't have too many friends here in this city anyway. I have you, and you so much to me.. But if fate would have we meet again, then it was meant to be, you know? Pfft, I bet I sound kinda stupid, don't I?"

Well, that was a relief. He didn't want to try to find a way to pump information about the Knights out of Isha while trying to hide his secret identity as a sailor senshi. Also it was a breath of fresh air to hear that suicide was not the issue.

"It's good to hear you aren't going to kill yourself. That would be a waste of a perfectly good you. I've never met your parents, so I'm in no place to know whether what you say is accurate or not. But an adventure after high school isn't so abnormal - I mean, aside from the adventure that after high school is. Some people take a year off to travel or take up an apprenticeship in a craft or just decide to become a traveler for life with no real home and can still make enough money to get by. If you want an adventure - if that is something you truly want for yourself - prepare yourself as best as you can and go. You aren't married and don't have any true obligations yet. I won't be the one to hold you here if your happiness is elsewhere."

"I wouldn't mind if you wanted to hold me here. In all honesty, it would be nice, I think. To be wanted, to know that someone cared enough to grab me, and say "I want you here! I want you to stay by your side! I need you here, with you, I'm not complete!" " From behind his head his arm came up to cover his eyes, laughing loudly and earnestly. How much more awkward could he make any of this? Well, at least it lightened up the situation, at least in his opinion.

"Aaah! But life can never be as simple as that, huh? No, no not at all! It's a weird mixture of hellos and goodbyes, of births and deaths, and an endless cycle of reaching out to grab what makes you happy, before watching it get pulled just far enough out of your reach to make it impossible to reach." Isha sat back up, pulling his legs to his chest this time, and leaned against them, his head turned towards his white-haired companion. His mind was filled with fiddling and confusing thoughts, but he could only smile at Emry, trying to let him know everything was alright. There was no reason to worry, none at all! Everything would be better soon, and then, he could make the world much safer and more glorious for people like his friend to live in. Or atleast try to.

"That's the thrill of life though, huh? Working for something you have, a dream of some sort, a place to truly belong in. What do you think?"

"It would be hypocritical of me to hold anyone here. I only came to this city for college and I probably won't stick around once I'm through."

He might even leave early, if circumstances favored it, but that was not something to bring up around Isha.

"I think the thrill of life...is, yeah, to follow a dream. I would like to say you should be responsible and I don't entirely believe in follow your heart because humans can be pretty dumb and hearts sometimes lie. But, even so, if you dream stars and you allow yourself to be bound to Earth - I believe something dies."

Emry had prepared his sketchpad and pencils by this time. He decided to work with the entirety of the scenery, with a focus on the rock formations. He didn't usually like to include people in his works, but he felt including a tiny Isha where he sat on the rocks seemed fitting.

. "You wouldn't stick around? Oh.. Well, I know that I'd miss you. Just knowing that you were coming here to explore with me made me so happy. It's like being a kid again, going adventuring and just enjoying life." He made no attempts to move from his spot, comfortable just gazing at Emry, and occasionally closing his eyes when the sun felt too bright. "No.. we wouldn't want to die then, do we?"

And a few minutes passed, or was it longer? The silence between them, for Isha, anyway, was comfortable, and the only reason he did reposition himself was because his legs were beginning to cramp. In that moment when he decided to move, he reached behind him, just a bit to grab the camera that had been set a side and forgotten. With it in his hands, he scooted over closer to Emry, just close enough that their elbows were almost touching, with space left in between so that Emry could easily move if he wanted too.

"Do you mind taking a picture with me?" His arms held the camera out, away from his face as if he was going to snap a quick picture of his own face. To take such a picture, he would have to lean in close to Emry, closer than he was now, maybe even have an arm around him or something, so it was best to ask for such a thing, rather than just simply doing it. It was a simple request, yes.. But it might be one of the last pictures he would take of himself as he was now, as Isha Chaudhary. Just because he was going to change, didn't mean he wouldn't want to remember the old times he had.

"I have no talent for art, but.. Even if the picture is out of focus or terrible, it'll still have memories attached to it, right?"

"I appreciate that you'll miss me."

Even though Emry's words may have been a bit noncommittal, they were sincere. Whether he realized it or not, he subconsciously understood that being missed is a sign that he had made some sort of difference.

He shut his sketchbook as Isha moved in with the camera and set it aside.

"Sure. You don't have to make it a masterpiece. Personal memories don't need to hang in a gallery."

With the permission granted, Isha placed his arm around Emry's shoulder, half balancing himself with the other's help, half just enjoying being so close to someone.

"Alrighty then, smile! He held the rather large camera away from them, allowing himself to smile freely at the lens before snapping the photo. He remained close after setting his camera in his lap, resting his head on the other's shoulder.

"Thanks again for coming with me today. I don't know how many times I said that, but I really mean it.."

When you're ready to send them home, let me know! If Emry keeps being all nice to him, he'll end up falling for the boy! Oh! I also got some other stuff I wanna ask you, I'll tell you in your plot thread!

Emry's smile was stiff and a little bit....frightening. The sort of disturbing forced-smile people who rarely smile think is appropriate for photographic record.

He was not someone who was particularly good for shoulder-leaning, as he refused to properly sit still while he pulled his sketchbook back out and opened it to a new page and began to sketch a toadstool.

"Thank you for inviting me. I had a good time."

If you like, we can just wrap up the roleplay aspect of their meeting and assume that they enjoy the rest of their afternoon before going home.

Isha didn't mind his constant moving, in fact, it was a bit comforting, knowing that the person besides him was alive and well.

The next few hours were simply fine, and he enjoyed being in the other's company, before nightfall forced them back to civilization.
