The newcomer stepping in caught his eyes quickly. It was the guy from last night; the kid with his father. Sporting black hair and blue eyes, he seemed to have stepped in to form a spur-of-the-moment team. However, since the boy was taking care of the other two lugs, main man was still free to beat the s**t out of him. Dassui sighs, turns around, and smacks his a** directly to the leader. "Come on, a*****e. If you can catch up, maybe I'll let you feel these again!" He yells, proceeding to make the hand sign for One Thousand Years of Death once more. Red in the face, the boy stomps after Dassui, who begins running around the corner of a nearby building. While out of sight in the meantime, Dassui says to himself: "Earth Style: Headhunter Jutsu!"

As the boy rounds the same corner, he looks around, seeing no signs of that damn trouble-making f*****t. He starts to run to the opposite side of the wall when deja vu occurs to him. At that moment, Dassui yanks the boy underground, switching positions to once again place him back into the Earth. "I swear, you keep falling for this trick, and it won't be fun anymore. Now, since you and your bodies have forced me to spend up most of my storage..." He walks up to the boy's head, and squats down to meet him. "....I'm going to have to recharge." Dassui's hand grows tighter as he feels the muscles make room for the soon to come flow of chakra. His channels seem to thirst for more as time passes in this state. Placing his hand upon the boy's forehead, a small surge jump-starts the connection, sending chills down Dassui's spine. It felt as if he was letting his hand, like a dog, lap up chakra from a water bowl. The sensation is enough to cause Dassui to just sit there spaced out with pleasure.

Enough, stop before you hurt yourself again.

Dassui pulls his hand away hesitantly once he reached what was pretty much near full on a gas tank. The boy in the ground look physically drained (Ha) with pale skin and a few wheezes here and there. Terribly sorry, but some things just have to be done. Turning to leave the boy in the hole to his own devices, he decided to check up on the boy around the corner. Surely, with the kind of training he was receiving at home, this must be a piece of cake for him.

The Bashin’ Yard is usually a place of blood, sweat, and – for the weaker among us –tears. Hiruma had more than his fair share of blood splattered across this dusty lot, and with the amount of effort he put forth every time he came it’s a wonder that the weeds weren’t sustained by him alone. But today, more than any other day, he felt defeated. Not in a physical way - that battle was just beginning. Emotionally and mentally, he felt a sting of defeat. The first time his father’s teachings would’ve served him well, and he basically spat on them. ‘Mind your business?’ That’s a laugh. His idiocy had him jump to save the first kid he thought might meet an early death.

It’s because he looks as old as Kaito when it happened. Wouldn't we all have appreciated if he had a savior? Or would that have just meant one more body to bury?

His father had managed to instill some logic in his head, as hard of a task as the man made it sound sometimes. He knew that defeating these thugs would only generate bad blood. Killing them would have their families warring in a flash, and although he didn't know anything about their clans, that’s not a risk he would take willingly. So that left incapacitating them. This option held its own share of flaws, the main one being that it required some degree of restraint in order to not make his blows lethal.

‘Put your all into every fight, Hiruma. An enemy that can get up is an enemy that can come after you again.’

Did that still apply here, in his hometown? Surely his father said that more in reference to missions, right? Panning out of his mental maelstrom and into the current predicament, Hiruma finds himself in a deadly dance of kunai and fists. His opponents, having dodged his opening attack and taking the direct route of charging towards him with their admittedly decent academy taijutsu, were unrelenting in their assault. Unlike the other boy who he knew was mostly all talk, these two seemed to actually have some semblance of competency – but one was exceptionally more skilled than the other. While dodging was not a problem (compared to his father’s taijutsu, this was laughable!), he couldn't find an opening between the two teens’ offense. Patience was currently the name of the game. He wished he had a bit more time sparring with two of this father’s water clones before this situation arose.

Maybe this can be settled with a simple brawl. No need for this to escalate into full-on combat, now is there boys? That’s right…just a normal training session for some Raiken.

Dodging a jab from the blonde-haired ninja, he dropped to the ground, sweeping his legs around to trip up both attackers. The second, slender brunette’s kick flew over his head as he succeeded in knocking the very same to the ground. Unfortunately, his other opponent was a bit quicker and deftly leaped over the leg, before flipping back away from Hiruma.

Well…that one has some skill. One of the three has to, I suppose. Let’s even the odds a bit, shall we.

Channeling his lightning into a small pool in his palm, he struck the downed boy in the neck. The effect was instantaneous. The teen’s body convulsed as his eyes rolled up into the back of his head. He was out, at least for a bit. It was amazing what a bit of electricity could do when it came into contact with the body’s nervous system. In the few seconds he’d looked away to eliminate the weakest link, the blonde boy had taken the liberty of removing his training weights. Dropping them to the ground with an audible crash, he settled into a stance Hiruma knew well – Gōken. While he wasn't proficient in the style himself, he knew of the devastation the proclaimed ‘Strong Fist’ taijutsu could wreak. It was a small miracle he had chosen to focus on dodging up until this point. Maybe two opponents weren't so bad after all? At least the blond ninja seemed to be holding back while his less talented friend was still there. Not anymore.

Coiling his body into his own Raiken taijutsu stance, he decided holding back was no longer an option. Releasing his hold on his chakra, he allowed the electrical current to fully permeate his body. Crackles of energy erupted from his Tenketsu, and small streams of grey lightning danced around his lower arms.

Well, this has escalated a bit too much. I hope that kid has his opponent handled, because this is going to need all of my concentration.

Inhale. Exhale.

Let’s go.

Looking around the corner, Dassui observes his newfound ally staring down the thug that wasn't flat on the ground. This one seemed like he had weights on, which is probably the only reason why he wasn't able to move quicker through the Genjutsu earlier. The ally, though, seemed to spark a bit on occasion. Well, this is new. Something he doesn't happen to see every day. About that time, a hand laid upon Dassui's shoulder. Looking back, he was greeted by-

*BAMF*

He was now laying on the ground with a new-found broken nose, blood slowly streaming out into his mouth. The blood tasted as awful as the most rusted iron pipe in the middle of a tropical forest. The kid managed to position himself on top of Dassui, throwing punch after punch into his face. An anger swells up into him as he loads up chakra into his clenched palm. Dodging one of the punches just barely, he punches straight into the boy's chest.

KA FUKA KEN: OVERLOAD FIST!

Dassui channels the chakra in his palm into a small section of his veins. Swirling up inside the channel, the chakra expands like a sphere, swelling up inside like a bomb. It increases in size as incoming chakra from both Dassui and the kid stream its way. It finally gives away for the burst, and-

Nothing.

Absolutely nothing.

What the Hell is going on?!

Dassui's chakra recedes from the kid, leaving no damage whatsoever to the body. "I...I don't...." Dassui whispers to himself. But he knew exactly why. This technique is Taijutsu based, meaning his punch has to at least do some damage for the Overload Fist to expand upon that damage. That punch didn't do jack s**t, and his technique followed suit. The kid is confused, wondering what that was all about. He didn't feel any different. Taking this time to prepare, Dassui quickly performs the Snake sign followed by the Rat sign, whispering to himself "Demonic Illusion: Hell Viewing Jutsu..."

Taking advantage of his short time, Dassui gets out from under the boy, and runs behind him while he's still dazed. On the boy's end, a whirlwind of leaves surrounds him for a brief second before falling back to the ground. "He's gone...? Is this some kind of cheap tri-" He is cut off once he looks up to see a...something. It looked like a dog of some sort, but not quite. It was large, furry, and had a bright red tone of fur. What was strange is that it seemed to have black hair drooping over its face as it feasted on what looked like a corpse. It stops. Silence fills the air. It turns towards him, and his heart sinks.

The creature has what barely passes for a humanoid face. It's eyes seemed shrunken to the point where it almost seems like nothing but a pupil. It's face also seems to be void of skin with nothing but what looks like raw muscles. It makes eye contact with him, and the worst part begins. It smiles. This monstrous, demonic being SMILES. Proportions be damned as the smile just keep increasing until it takes up at least half of its face. The pupils shrink, and it begins walking towards him. His heart races faster and faster as it speeds up every couple of steps towards him until it is directly in his face, causing him to scream. He collapses out of fear, landing on his back. That will leave some nightmares for sure.

Dassui sighs in relief. His Genjutsu seems to have worked, leaving him free to go back to observing the fight taking place around the corner.

Crack.

Hiruma flew backwards as the strong-fisted jab impacted against his chest. As the breath was forcefully removed from his lungs, his eyes widened in pain from the unexpectedly heavy punch and shock of hitting the thick trunk of a tree.

Okay, so first things first. While he was never a fan of admitting it, Hiruma had occasionally made tactical errors. This was one of those times. After downing his first opponent, he was actually expecting the battle to turn more in his favor. Although his current opponent was clearly holding back previously, he wasn’t aware it was this much. Why was someone with this much skill hanging with a bunch of skill-less genins?

Kicking off against the tree, Hiruma pulled a charged strike back and forced a bolt of electricity through his palm. Watching the older boy backflip away from the lightning before ending in a crouch, Hiruma formed a familiar hand seal.

Alright, Taijutsu boy. Let’s see how you handle this.

Bunshin no Jutsu.

Variant Style: Path of Asura. Yea, that sounds like a cool name.

Forming two clones, taking advantage of their illusionary nature and lack of actual substance, Hiruma mentally commanded his dopplegangers to overlap his physical body. Settling himself back into the beginning stance of Raiken, he allowed the appearance of three faces and six arms, with an overlaying torso and legs. He released any lingering restraints he held on his bloodline, embracing the comfort of the grey lightning encircling his form. The six arms were all consumed from the elbow down by the same crackling electricity, each positioned in a different offensive or defensive placement.

His opponent, on the other hand, was in the process of his own preparations. Smirking at the silent Genin, he voiced a previously unspoken opinion. “You know, you’re fairly well-known here in the Bashin’ Yard. The ‘sheltered prodigy’ who can’t even go out to train without your daddy to protect you. Well let’s see how the Kokurai prodigy handles the pride of the Raion clan.” Clenching his fists and tightening his posture, the boy’s chakra presence began to spike. Sneering, he spared Hiruma a final glare. “Roar at our prey. Gate of Opening: Release.”

Oh…s**t.

Watching the muscular teen rush towards him with a speed drastically greater than before, he began throwing kunais with reckless abandon. Six arms throwing a constant stream of real and illusionary blades at the charging opponent, with each and every one missing their mark. The illusions disappeared into the wind, while the real ones were planted firmly into the ground.

He’s getting too close. His blows were enough to nearly crack bones before. Now, they’re easily lethal.

Backpedaling as he breezed through hand seals, Hiruma allowed the two clones to separate from him and triangulate against the approaching Taijutsu specialist. Finishing with open palms, he allowed the necessary water to pour from his mouth – ripping his mask in the process. Just as the Goken-user shot forth in a fierce kick, the water swirled around his body and captured him in the sphere.

Water Style: Water Prison Juts
u.

With both hands maintaining the prison of water, Hiruma found its management far easier than he remembered. Perhaps through practice, he had reached a better grasp of the control required for the technique’s success. Exhaling a breath he wasn’t aware he was holding, he let the chakra freely flow into the technique. His chakra pool was by no means small – for his age, it was decently sized –but this jutsu was very draining.

Despite the struggling of the Raion clan member, the Water Prison maintained its structural integrity. Hiruma doubted he could hold the jutsu longer than his opponent could hold his breathe, and his exhausted state would not be conducive to his continued…living. He couldn’t utilize any other jutsus or weapons without releasing his hold on the prison, leaving his enemy free to act.

The hell with that idea. What else could I do? What can I do?

Inspiration struck him like a bolt of lightning. Grinning at his own ironic musings, he began infusing his natural lightning affinity into his palms, just as he would with a Raiken strike. Flowing electricity into the water prison, he watched the thrashing of the teen stop, and instead witnessed his back arch and muscles tighten with electrocution. Ensuring he held the paralyzing flow long enough to render his opponent unconscious, he could feel his chakra rapidly depleting through fueling two simultaneous techniques. Finally releasing his technique and dispersing the clones, Hiruma collapsed backwards in relief.

It was over.
