Still hovering in the cold winter air over Lloyd, Lisanna was intently and warily watching to see what Saida would do. As a terrifying, deafening roar suddenly filled the air she anxiously glanced over towards the front of the mansion to see Bahamut facing two GF's."How will we ever escape with so many enemies?"She thought desperately, still trying to quieten a distressed Nyale and wondering if she should move away. Their fight seemed to be getting a little out of hand. Looking closer it seemed one of the GF's was using a spell of some kind. Lisanna's eyes widened at seeing dark energy surround Bahamut and a huge ball descend on it. A powerful spell like that... "No!"The sorceress cried, realising what was about to happen. She beat her wings as if to try and fly away but it was too late. Lisanna suddenly felt herself forced downwards from the spell with no way to resist.
Eternal Love Pain consumed her entire body as several of her bones instantly broke, making the girl scream from the agony and very nearly pass out from the shock. She didn't even notice the other GF nearby that had been about to attack her. The fall was short but she hit the roof hard, landing on top of Lloyd who managed to catch her, and only just managing to twist in the air beforehand so that she didn't land on Nyale. Lying amidst a cloud of dust and small amount debris on the now cracked roof, the disorientated young woman was unable to think or move for a few seconds and all she could feel was overwhelming pain wracking her entire body. Somehow she eventually found the strength to lift her head and look at the limp child in her arms, however.
"N-Nyale..."She gasped, her eyes widening with fear as she took in the apparently lifeless state of her child. Although she had managed to keep hold of Nyale during the fall and was still cradling her protectively even now, the child hadn't made a single sound. Either she was unconscious, having been also hit with the spell which no doubt hurt her as badly as it had Lisanna...or she was dead. The instant she realised this it was as if time stopped for Lisanna, and all awareness of her physical pain was pushed to the back of her mind in lieu of her concern for her daughter. All she could now feel was disbelief and sorrow as her heart shattered into a thousand pieces.
"No...please..."She breathed, tears spilling out of her eyes. She gently cradled Nyale closer, suppressed sobs making her shoulders shake. Despite the severity of her injuries she crawled off Lloyd and onto her knees, coughing blood."W-Wake up, oh god please wake up..."She cried, feeling as if her whole world was being ripped apart. She kissed Nyale over and over again, brushing her fingers across her cheeks. Finally she tilted her head back and gave a heart broken wail into the night sky. There was probably not a single person in or around the mansion who couldn't hear the depth of her devastation. She didn't know or care what happened to Saida or the other GF but it was safe to say if anyone with malicious intentions approached her now, she wouldn't hesitate to use a limit break."Kalay! I need you...!"She cried, her whole body shaking as she knelt on the roof and weakly holding her child in her broken arms. Her vision blurred, both through tears and as she started to inevitably lose consciousness from the sheer physical and emotional trauma she'd experienced.

Lloyd smiled relieved that she heard him. Abruptly, as she came down to greet him a flames burst out in front of the mansion. Lloyd turned and knew that Riyel was the cause knowing this tactic all too well. He hugged her relieved but alert. This was getting too hairy too quickly, they needed to get out of there yesterday. "I haven't seen Kalay, but we're here to get you and the little one out of he-" he heard a voice cut him off. A young woman in Galbadian uniform challenge him reading her weapon.
Lloyd however, flashed a bit of a smirk. "Thing 1 and thing 2, it's time to go." he spoke into the ear piece and leveled his spear as multicolored orbs began to spun around his form. He didn't think his pal would have to get involved in their escape, but Lloyd needed to be decisive. "You'll have to forgive me, but I have no time to play with yo- ?!" something was wrong! He looked just in time to see the dark GF use an incredibly powerful spell. Just as it began he looked to Lisanna and moved to catch her as his body was forced down with incredible force. Immediately, he felt approximately three ribs, his left leg, and left arm break simultaneously.
The pain was excruciating, but he managed to catch Lisanna and break her fall. His consciousness waned from the intensity of his broken limbs. Slowly he faded back into waking and heard...crying? Lloyd's opened his dazed eyes to see Lisanna next to him..pleading? Slowly it registered and he managed to get on his good knee and realize what had happened. "N-no..." he muttered. She wailed into the night sky and Lloyd was frozen.
'This...this happened before. Sophia...lost our baby...this happened before...that wail...I couldn't stop it. In an instant...it happened and I..I couldn't stop it.'
It began from his core, a tiny spark, then erupted through the very fibers of his being. His mind was consumed by the memories of the miscarriage colliding with what he was experiencing now.
'Galbadia...even a baby was not safe...not even an innocent baby. Why... ' The horrid despair rooted itself in Lloyd's heart and transformed into rage grasping his soul. Before him was the young woman in Galbadia clothes, and she would pay the price. His pupils flickered with his wrath and finally elongated. Lloyd reared back his head and let out a scream of sorrow from the depths of his memories. It was too much to take.
Multicolored orbs rushed around his body and the ruler of seas materialized before him mirroring his scream with a roar of anguish. Around the woman water erupted and circled her in a maelstrom formed by the GF. The mass of water constricted her with immense water pressure. Lloyd brought up his hands and Leviathan curled in its head mirror his movements. Within its maw a white light erupted and charged in intensity as the maelstrom collapsed inward creating an orb of pressure.
With a roar Lloyd brought down his hand and gazed at Saida while simultaneously Leviathan shot its head forward firing the spell into the orb of water. Holy erupted with the water spell causing it to burst sending water everywhere. Leviathan reared up its head to roar once more as Lloyd continued to scream drowning in the snarl of memories. Slowly Leviathan's existence glinted away leave his master lost in ceaseless despair.
'Why her baby? Why did this have to happen? Why?!'
Maris winced, a roar, loud and thunderous, blasting over her like too much bass pumping out of an amp. Had there been any windows left to shatter, Maris had no doubt that roar, and the torrential winds that followed, would have done the trick in fixing that. She paused from her support fire long enough to raise a hand up to cover her ear, staring at Kalay through a squinted eye. 'No way he did that.' From the reaction of Kalay and Momo neither of them were responsible, and Maris knew Kafshe's roar well enough to know it wasn't him. 'Then...' She caught movement, and a figure came gliding out over the marble floor of the mansion like an ice skater over ice. And she was holding something at that, her arm pulled back and ready to throw. "Sonuva--" Maris didn't waste any time, and with a single well aimed shot she fired a bullet, the round striking the glass bottle straight in the center, causing it to shatter and rain glass and lye upon Nona. 'Nice ******** try,' Maris thought, anger flaring. She didn't know what it was that the person was trying to throw at Momo, but Maris wasn't having any of that, and for the moment her attention was all on Winchester.
Gun trained on the rebel leader, Maris paused for a second, waiting for a chance, and then pulled the trigger twice. As Nona whirled around, turning to face Maris and Momo, Maris took the momentary chance to shoot while she was unable to dodge to hit her. She aimed big, not bothering to go for a lethal shot, but who knows. Maybe Maris would strike lucky, and get a lung. And a heart. But even in the midst of her anger, Maris still managed to channel it into energy and maintain her head and keep her vision clear on her target. And beautifully enough, Momo seemed to have had similar ideas. With almost perfect synchronicity, the two, whom had been together for many of years, struck at Nona near simultaneously. Where Momo had leapt behind Nona and struck her in the back with a Meltdown, Maris's own bullets, two of the five remaining HSA rounds she had, ripped through the air at over 400 miles per second. And unless Nona had the curious ability to side maneuver while turning around mid-air, the bullets would have struck her in the chest, and for all the protection her Protect spell would have done, the HSA would have pierced it, and her, like a needle popping a balloon. It was only after than that the flash of light reminded Maris of Kalay's existence, although before she even glanced at the man she had, for a frightened moment, thought that Salem had woken. She was wrong. "You've got to be ******** kidding me..."
Kicking her suitcase in between the rails, Maris rushed forward and leapt. The spear flew past her almost as soon as it had left Kalay's hand, and the explosion it caused sent her, and her suitcase, flying further than she had anticipated. She landed with a tumble, close to the fountain but far away enough from Kalay to remain out of his field of influence, and no sooner had she regained herself she rolled and raised her gun, training it on Kalay and firing the last several rounds of her HSA bullets. Neither came close to their intended target, the bullets path warping as if Kalay was protected by some sort of field. 'That's no protect.' Maris concluded. No, this was a deeper type of magic. The kind of magic only one kind of individual could possess. And after the spear, which had materialized out of seemingly midair, Maris had her guesses. Seeing it was useless to try and do anything against that, Maris flipped back the hem of her coat and pulled back on some kind of string. With a sharp whistle, five objects almost the shape of darts flew out from her waist. Some went for the wind blades attacking Momo. One flew uselessly at Kalay, exploding midair upon impacting the shield. And the rest flew straight for Nona.
"Momo!" Maris called, holstering her gun and grabbing her suitcase. "We're pulling out, this mission is a bust!" She desummoned Brynhildr, whom she felt was wounded, and from the information she was relaying it wasn't from anything Lisanna had done. "Well daddy, it's been fun. But I think it's time we made our escape. You on the other hand..." Maris's smirking expressing faded, as the last image Brynhildr had sent her before desummoning came to mind. With more sincerity than what he might have expected, Maris apologized to him softly. "...have my sympathies." If Kalay was listening, he might have heard the sound of Lisanna's broken cry, and if his heart was truly in the right place he would have focused his energy on going to her, than stopping Maris and Momo. Which was half of what Maris was counting on.
Momo at her side, Maris made for the door. Nona wounded, and Kalay rushing off to see to his child, the path was all but clear. As they got to the door, however, Maris paused, looking back at Salem, who, through it all, remained unconscious on the ground. Maris felt a pang of regret, and more than just frustration. 'I shouldn't have accepted this mission after all.' Maris thought, thinking back to her thoughts on the train ride to Winhill. 'Good bye, Salem. I'm sorry it had to end like this.'
Unexpectedly, just as Maris was turning away from Salem to go out the door, Momo began forcefully pushing at her from the side, and was saying something in quick urgent words that weren't registering to Maris. "Not now, Momo, I'm having a mome--" Actually looking out the door, turning her head slowly as she did, Maris caught sight of what it was Momo was trying to tell her. Kafshe. "Oh ********." Taking cue from Momo, whom had ran for one of the side windows, Maris slammed the front door and followed after, leaping from the window behind the moomba just as a powerful roar blasted through the front of the mansion.
There is no pain, you are receding A distant ship smoke on the horizon You are only coming through in waves Your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying

He kept alert even as the world seemed to erupt in flames before his eyes, destruction caused by his own hand. Elliot merely squawked at the occurrence. The light from the explosion before him illuminated his features to a certain degree, showing his long blonde hair, a scar upon the bridge of his nose, and a light tan. His eyes were alight in the midst of the flames, his hand still held tightly on his Gunblade as he searched the surrounding area. It had to be quick. This was a difficult situation considering the chaos that had blossomed all around the area. Elliot was doing the same thing, his dragon eyes captivating what lay before him in order to be alert to a danger. Crackling and roaring from the flames in front of them did not help in this circumstance, forcing the two to search through the other noises and discern what could be considered an attack and was simply the sound of movement. The blonde Unbroken leader's eyes remained narrowed, as he let loose of his hold on his weapon for a moment, widening at the sound and sight of gunfire, three flashes appearing in a close distance. Elliot only squawked as the three bullets grazed his constantly moving body, thin lines of blood exiting from the cuts.
Riyel grew furious as he stepped to the side, watching the female that had shot at them with a cold, imperious look. There was no screaming or excessive swearing. But the look on his face said it all. Almost immediately, he used Scan on the girl and focused, drawing almost immediately while he continued moving. Elliot was doing so as well, opening his wings and fluttering in the opposite direction of Riyel as they began to react towards Xaris's surprise attack. As soon as he had drawn from the girl, he pointed at her with his right hand and cast his drawn spell. Of course, wasn't aware of what Diablos had just done, considering he was still absorbed in his own circumstances but the irony was quite fitting, even as Elliot came floating from the side with his open mouth, unleashing the Smokescreen once more, this time releasing it in an arc, in an attempt to surround the girl quickly. But Riyel wasn't happy with just this, even as Elliot halted his attack after releasing another cloud of smoke that covered the yard.
The young man ran, Land., his thoughts quick. Elliot landed almost immediately near him, Riyel sitting on his companions back. Floatga helped the situation certainly even as Elliot began to flutter upwards, moving towards the roof quickly. But even while Elliot was in mid-flight/struggle, Riyel pointed at the cloud where Xaris had last been seen. "You're lucky.". Riyel spat on the roof as he looked over towards Elliot. You're doing good, we just have to get out of this and then you're done. The little dragon nodded, panting as Riyel looked down below to see what the hell was going onn, his face wincing as a loud roar erupted throughout the area courtesy of Bahamut. "Let's get out of here, please." He spat/whispered into his headset, turning towards Lloyd and Lisanna, his face creasing in concern. s**t.. He jogged over to Lloyd and knelt by him, his eyes flashing over towards the weeping Lisanna. "Nona...get your a** up here now!". This wasn't him asking, more like commanding and she would hopefully realize that he was not happy with this situation. His voice was laced with steel as he took out one of his hi-potions and placed it in Lloyd's hands. "You know what to do with it. Don't you go out on me!" he stood quickly and crouched by Lisanna, handing out his last hi-potion to her hands, Elliot watching the area to keep them alert of any coming issues. His eyes looked towards Nyale, a surprising concern eating over the surface of his eyes. It was heartbreaking to see this, Lisanna weeping by her daughter. But once more, Riyel went to work, gently grasping the little girls arm and checking for a pulse. There had to be one...there had to be. And as he closed his eyes...he felt it. A sigh of relief crossed over his lips, his face relaxing for the moment. "She has a pulse...weak...but a pulse, Miss Everett. Give her the hi potion or at least some of it. Hurry.".
Of course, Lisanna might not recognize him. His face was slightly covered by his long hair and she had never seen Elliot before. He had no time for formalities though. They needed to leave. Now.
When I was a child I had a fever My hands felt just like two balloons Now I've got that feeling once again I can't explain, you would not understand This is not how I am I have become comfortably numb

XXXXSaida had paused as she spotted another figure next to Lloyd. That figure had six wings behind their back and no doubt was the person they were here for. Or at the very least holding the child they were here for. ”Lisanna. Give me the child and no one else has to die!” she called as the woman shot towards the sky. Muttering something her eyes snapped to the boy. ”What a shame…”
XXXXA roar sounded to her right before the wind kicked up and slapped her several times across the face. Bracing herself against the cold winds her eyes narrowed upon her target for now. If it meant he was to die. So be it. She had no qualms in killing to achieve her goal, and not only that but he was Lloyd Nipal; one of the rebel leaders. Take the head off the beast and the body won’t survive. Unless it was one of those irritating monsters that could just regrow another in it’s stead. No matter she wasn’t going to think much on this because it looked like she only had a few seconds to take him out before he summoned his GF.
XXXXHis words though were cut off as she spotted to her right something black swirling into the air. Turning her head to look at Diablos right before he disappeared. ”Oh s**t…” that was not going to feel good. She didn’t even have time to put her sword away before being knocked down along with everyone else. Bones snapped and searing pain fried her brain and turned her stomach. A rib? Something surely snapped within her arm or hand because it caused her to drop her sword. It slid from the roof and landed into the ground below. The scrapping of metal against the tiled roof told her that much. Something in her shoulder either popped out or snapped. Saida couldn’t tell which. No if there was anything else wrong she couldn’t distinguish from it at the moment. All the pain blurred together creating a fog in her head.
XXXXOnce the spell ended she blinked open her eyes. "N-Nyale..." Her head snapped up which probably was a mistake on Saida’s end but she didn’t like the sound of what was happening. The baby better not be dead. Dread flowed through her, not entirely for the sake of the baby, but for having failed the mission in the worse way possible. ”God damnit… you really gone and ******** this up, Diablos.”
XXXXShe pressed the com on her goggles as she struggled to get onto her knees and then her feet. White pain seared through her. As she did Lisanna gave a heart curdling cry. This was her chance if she wanted to take them both down. With her still good hand she reached in one of her pouches at her side slicing her hand upon the one health bottle she had as it had shattered upon the spell just like everything else did. No matter she took out four needles with practice ease. There was two for Lloyd and two for Lisanna. Bringing her hand back she flicked her wrists just before Lloyd had turned to look at her and give his own cry. Such passion and sorrow for someone had Saida curious and perhaps even annoyed. Why was Lloyd getting upset over Lisanna and the babe? It wasn’t really his child that could possibly be dead.
XXXXSaida watched though as lights circled around him and she knew before it had appeared what was happening. Well s**t… Perhaps they would have to wait another time. She was bailing out. Though, before she could react water surrounded her before slamming inwards.
XXXXCold, a numbing cold surrounded Saida, the pressure of the water caused her to cough up blood as it continued to crush her body. More bones cracked, snapped, and were crushed as she cried out her pain muffled within the waters encase. She was sure that she heard Sylphy’s cry as if the creature too could feel her pain but Saida couldn’t even concentrate enough to call for the girl. She was also sure she’d punctured a lung from her ribs snapping. Saida wasn’t for sure but she could gander that all of her ribs were broken now. Another cry erupted from her as something bright slammed into her. Saida couldn’t be for sure but thought it was another spell of some sort. There was enough pain to have her eyes roll back before they drifted closed.
XXXXSound drifted away from her. So was this the end of everything she knew? Was she fated to die here upon this roof? If she had still been coherent to what was going on and could feel her body she was sure it would have been shaking at the thought. The mission had been a bust and chaotic as it quickly swallowed everything in its path. Chaos burned through the surrounding area.
XXXXHer thoughts drifted to Maris and Momo. I’m sorry you guys… She’d been a total b***h the last two years. If she was to regret anything it was her last two years. Tears filled her eyes, pushed through the closed lids, and spilled across her cheeks. She wanted just one more moment to tell them how much she cared about them. To tell Maris how she felt and why she’d been so hurt. To hug Momo close to her chest and never let him go. Another moment to make a snide remark to Xaris before telling the girl she wasn’t really all that bad. To tell them all that she was the one that dun goofed and was stupid. Saida … what you’re feeling is love… an emotion you’d been deprived of for most of your life. No one’s ever shown you how to so it’s no wonder you wouldn’t recognize it when you, Momo, and Maris got closer and closer as friends. If Saida could have opened her eyes at that moment they would have shot wide open. Love. That was the emotion she was feeling right now. Strange as it was there was no other answer to her feelings. Saida …. Yes, she even loved Sylphy and Phantom. Wow, and at a time like this to realize she was even capable of feeling such feelings.
XXXX”I’m sorry…” a last whisper floated past her lips before she dropped like a wet sack of potatoes to the roof top and rolled off the roof much like how her sword slid and plummeted to the ground. Saida!!
Three shots had gone out before Nona darted. The fourth didn’t seek out Kalay, but her erstwhile weapon. The cut bottle shattered easily in Nona’s hand. She had the wherewithal to relax it at least instead of squeezing down on the glassy, dangerous remains. A cloud of glass and drain cleaner fell onto the Moomba…Or should have; it must have smelled her coming and Flashed its way out of sight. Nona knew the favorite move of Flash users, though; she could guess where the little beasty had gotten to. Rather than just turn to try and catch both in her line of sight, Nona leapt, her will directing the Float spell to buoy her into a near-effortless jump, higher than she would naturally have managed. Her twisting trajectory turned her on her side, minimizing her profile as well as turning it on end. No sooner than she had, the other two attacked in tandem. The Moomba’s violet beam shot underneath her, wasted on the marble wall. One of the bullets sailed underneath, but the other nearly flew true. It caught Nona’s barrier and, too quick to see anything but a small split of the air that twinkled faintly green and yellow, pierced it. The shield still threw it off-course, at least, catching Nona’s thigh. A lance of pain shot through her lower body, but the bullet passed through muscle instead of bone, leaving behind a burning gash instead of a hole. Nona could see them both in that instant; the beast and the woman. A six-shooter, unnaturally keen eyes told her, and she counted six bullets.
Nona landed roughly from the improvised leap, dropping near to all fours with one hand to support her landing on Salem’s back and her gun level, facing the aggressors. Then Laytos did…some…thing. Then it was all green and red and wings. Okay, so that was…unexpected, to say the least. Illumination was as sudden as a lightbulb going on. "Fk;ing Sorcerers...” she concluded, and shoved the subject to the back of her mind. The red-headed woman was on the counter-offensive. Nona swore as she flung a handful of darts at once, forced to throw herself backward; no telling if these could get through her Protect as well. A duo of darts sailed over her head, and by the time she’d recovered, the two were clearly on the retreat. Much as she longed to fire after them, she knew better; they were in too deep as it was. From the sound of the situation on her mic, Nipal and Vicaria were on the same wavelength.
”Come on if you want out, Laytos!” Nona called as she hauled Salem over her shoulder, grunting at the effort. Thank goodness for her Float spell taking most of the weight off her. A quick mental exchange with Bahamut while she burst her way out the front door and she knew the plan.
Outside, Bahamut had been engrossed in his own little ordeal. The devil’s all-out attack had left him weakened and facing down the other GF who had neglected to attack. Bahamut had dropped to all fours as if to square off in the beast’s own posture. Nona burst open the front door and charged up the dragon’s tail onto his backside, her gun exchanged for a potion. She broke the bottle over the dragon’s back, a healing glow suffusing Bahamut’s scales, and dropped down to straddle him as the beastly GF across the yard began to charge up some sort of attack. Time to go! Nona insisted.
No sooner than she had given the command, an obscuring cloud filled the yard from the roof above. Nona offered a silent thanks to Vicaria for putting the barrier between herself and the monstrosity back there. Bahamut’s wings came down with a heavy beat as he sprang up with all four limbs. The wind only served to spread the smokescreen wider. The blast fired into the smoke below, crashing into the front of the mansion. Nona could hear marble crack and wood splinter, and the impact shook the air. With a snarl, she clung to both Salem and a spike of Bahamut’s back as the turbulence hit, forced to cling to the dragon king as he corrected himself in the air. Still, it smoothed out soon enough as he touched down.
Rather than take flight just yet, Bahamut landed as lightly as he could on the roof. Nona risked a look over the side as the world stabilized again. One of the Galbadians was down, and…s**t, both Everett and her kid. Nothing for it but to be gentle with them, Nona warned. ”Nipal, come on!” she beckoned while Bahamut carefully scooped up the younger Everett and her child in both clawed limbs. For a dragon lined in cutting teeth, claws and covered in armored scales, the touch was surprisingly gentle, cradling the two carefully. Not much help in relieving the pain of broken bones, but Everett had the time to do as she pleased with the potion.
As soon as all were aboard Bahamut or their own rides, the dragon king turned and beat his great wings. Behind the manor, the town gave way to forest uninterrupted for miles. It was over this that he took them as fast as he could. Nona (with Salem) and Nipal (and possibly Laytos) rode atop his back, Vicaria on his own dragon, Everett and the infant were cradled close to the dragon’s chest with utmost care. They were rapidly lost in the darkness of the wilderness at night. Unfortunately, Bahamut had little time left after aiding in the air-drop. Nona warned the group that they had to set down when Bahamut signaled her. His wings had carried them fast in their limited time, and they beat slower as he lowered himself to the snowy forest floor. Everett and her daughter were set down carefully in the shallow snow while the others climbed off, just in time for the dragon king to dissipate with a low rumble in his chest.
Nona laid Salem on the snow with as much ease as she could manage in unshouldering him on the bare ground. ”Everyone still with us?” she wondered, moving to kneel next to Everett and retrieve a potion.
Xaris stood there as the bullets missed the blonde, and his pet. She was about to fire her last three but before she pulled the trigger Diablos's spell took effect. She watched as the spell hit the roof as well. "No....Saida was up there. I gotta help her!" As she attempted to go towards there she had almost forgotten her enemy was there, ready to attack. She removed her scythe while putting the gun back in its strap, but before she could charge at the man his pet shot out its smoke at her. It circled around her instead of going straight for her. Without much of an option all she could do was pull down her night vision goggles so she wouldn't get blinded by the smoke, and use her scythe as a pole so she could at least get out of most of the smoke but she knew either way that smoke was going to hit her. As she launched herself with her scythe she held her breath and with enough force she made it through the fog even if she now was covered in whatever substance the smoke was including the goggles, however she didn't feel the smoke surround her anymore.
She took the goggles off but as she did so a sword nearly impaled her as it came falling from the sky. Xaris quickly realized it was Saida's blade, and when she looked up she saw that Saida was coming off the edge. Xaris readied herself as Saida began to fall. Xaris quickly reacted by slamming the scythe's blade high up horizontally against a pillar that survived the large guardian force that Diablos attacked. Using the large handle of the scythe Xaris leaped up from the ground onto the handle of the scythe and jumped up further into the air where she was able to catch Saida who wasn't that far from hitting the ground. The landing wasn't that great but no large injuries were brought on Xaris. After she caught Saida the large GF had taken off to the roof. She was glad it didn't go after her, or any of her teammates. Xaris looked at Saida. She looked horrible, and it felt like she wasn't breathing at all. She quickly sat Saida down. Yanking her scythe from the pillar and sheathing it Xaris then picked up Saida. She didn't want Saida to die and had to get out of this place before she got attacked. She ran with Saida in her arms out and away from the mansion until she made it across the bridge where she felt safe enough and out of site to set Saida down. When Xaris looked back she saw that the large GF had flown off. Xaris turn back to Saida and spoke but she had a hesitant speech due to her emotions rising. "I won't let you die Saida. Not here, and not now. You'll be ok. I promise." Opening her equipment belt she pulled out a phoenix down and used it on Saida.
A ray of light hovered over Saida, and she knew the phoenix down took effect. Xaris then sat down next to Saida and having Saida's head rest against her lap. Xaris then removed the potions in her belt and had them ready for Saida when she awoke. During the entire time Xaris was near the brink of anger, and sadness. She almost lost a member of her team, and it was like deja vu for her. This time though was different because she was able to save her teammate's life. Xaris had to keep her emotions from getting the best of her so she began to hum a song she knew from when she was little. The song seemed to be working since Xaris was becoming more calm, and she was able to feel small breaths from Saida. Xaris was relieved that Saida was alive, and just kept Saida in her lap while keeping one hand on her head as she laid there. Xaris was worried about leaving Maris, and Momo back at the mansion, but Saida was more important right now, and there was no way that Xaris would leave Saida in the current condition she was in. All she could do was stay by Saida till she awoke. She turned her head towards the mansion and spoke. "Sorry guys your on your own right now. Please come back alive....I need you....and...Saida needs you too."

Even in the midst of heart broken despair Lis could not fail to notice Lloyd summoning Leviathan and brutally attacking Saida. She simply stared through uncomprehending, tear filled eyes though, as if she wasn't really sure what was happening anymore and didn't really care either way. But as Saida's goodbye present flew towards her and Lloyd she somehow stirred herself and deflected them easily with her mind, sending them skittering across the roof away from her.
After that when Riyel approached she blinked up at him slowly, faint sobs escaping her, and took the potion from him with a shaking hand. She didn't give any sign as to whether she recognised him or not, but she seemed to understand that he wasn't a threat. Her distraught gaze dropped down to the unconscious child in her arms. At first Lisanna seemed as if she wasn't sure whether to believe Riyel when he said he felt a pulse, but regardless she administered the potion to Nyale, all of it, and then let the bottle fall to the ground. The young sorceress then closed her eyes and kissed Nyale, holding her close as she felt herself start to lose consciousness. She expected she would fall sideways but just as she started to something huge and gentle closed around her, lifting her and Nyale into the sky...then the world spiraled into blackness.

s**t. Elliot was tired from that spurt of flying. Riyel knew that much and even as he turned away from Lisanna towards him, he could see that the little dragon did not have much time left in this realm for all that long. And of course it was at this point that Bahamut shot into the air, forcing Riyel to cover his face as wind crashed about him. They had gone before he could have even said anything. "You have got to be ******** kidding me." That seemed to be the only comment worth utilizing to describe his current...situation for even as he turned, Elliot had begun to fade away into the aether, Riyel nodding his head with a small smile on his face. You did good, Ell. But then he realized his current situation. The enemy was still in the area and his one sure ride had vanished while his second had vanished before any sort of take off. Cursing once more in his mind, Riyel kept quiet as he watched the direction that Bahamut took. Gonna need you, Ifrit.
"It's about damn time.
As he focused, Riyel turned towards where the smokescreen still lay in the front of the yard, covering most of it as it spread throughout the area. He knew that there were other enemies still there... Looking downward near the front of the mansion, Riyel raised his hand. "Firaga." Almost instantly, a grand ball of flame erupted from his hand shooting towards the front of the mansion, near the door where the smokescreen lay in the thickest from where Elliot had spat it out. The explosion itself from the initial Firaga was loud in itself, but the next ignition of the cloud of smokescreen was even greater, sending a ground shaking explosion that caused a wave of heat to strike Riyel. Good. Turning away, he finished focusing on Ifrit as the grand fire demon erupted from the ground in leap just as Riyel jumped, his leap carrying the two of them throughout the air as they pursued in majestic leaps after Bahamut, hoping to catch up with the group before they departed as well. Don't you leave me behind... They were going to get it when they got home.

XXXX She laid there feeling warm and cozy. Perhaps everything had been a dream and she was back in her dorm sleeping peacefully—or well relatively peacefully. She’d never had a dream before that she’d died in. A strange sensation filled her. She was glad that she didn’t die but even as that thought passed through that feeling was stronger. Pushing it to the side she didn’t care to ponder what the feeling was for. It was nice just lying there not having to move. She wasn’t sure if she could move even if she wanted to. What a strange thought. Finally Saida peeked an eye open and she was nearly blinded by the whiteness that surrounded her. ”What the h—“
XXXX”Probably don’t want to use that kind of language here…” Language here? Where the hell was here? As if the voice that seemed to come from the blinding whiteness heard her thoughts gave a sigh. ”It doesn’t matter where here is but where you’re going, which is back.”
XXXX”Back? Back where? And who are you?”
XXXX She never did get her answer because just then searing pain struck like a lightning bolt in her head. Closing her eyes once more she tried to ride the pain out. It didn’t subside one bit and her surrounding became colder and colder and colder. A choking sensation filled her throat as she started to cough up a warm liquid substance. A groan ripped through as more pain began to consume her.
XXXX Ever so slowly her eyes twitched open, first one then the other. Slowly they blinked but instead of the blinding whiteness it was almost the exact opposite. It was rather dark with a few lighted street lamps. She was lying on the ground with her head propped up against something that was sort of soft and warm yet it still had a solid feel to it. Where the hell was she?
XXXX It dawned on her that what had happened wasn’t a dream. She’d died up on that rooftop, but then… her thoughts trailed off as her vision slowly came back to her and a face swam into her vision. Xaris? The girl had been humming now stopped as she peered down almost happy to see her. She was trying to force something down into her mouth. At first Saida just didn’t understand but without much resistance the liquid slid down the back of her throat. It was kind of bitter tasting. Two more came after that first one and already she was starting to feel better. She felt almost good enough to move and sit up. Though, as she tried the pain came crashing back to her.
XXXX”You idiot, what are you doing? …Uuugh… I feel like I got ran over by a steam roller…” She’d coughed up more blood but from the feather and the potions she was given she could feel her minor breakages were healed and some of the others were slightly mended. She was still having troubles breathing and when she spoke she sounded like a winded smoker who’d been smoking for 40 years plus. Her chest burned with each breath she took.
XXXXMore importantly what happened, where were they, and where was Momo and Maris? Her eyes flickered closed for a moment before they slowly opened again to glance around. She didn’t see them anywhere. They better not have died either. She would have been pissed if Xaris just left them to die. More importantly she’d probably end up killing Xaris herself if that were the case. Though, the longer she laid there the more tired she felt. Slowly she felt herself drift her eyes closing. If Xaris was worried at this point she didn’t need to be as the her chest raised and lowered even if it seemed like she was having troubles.
XXXXIt was probably a good thing she drifted off this way the pain she felt would fade and she wouldn’t have to look at her still mangled looking body. Even with the potions bones still protruded from her sink and her rib cage still sat funny as not all of her breaks and bones were fixed.

The Moomba: Momo
Name: Momo the Marauding Moomba! Location: On the ground. Level: 15? Health: All there! Status: Hungry. Tired. Hunger: Too Much. ___________________________
Kafshe was gone, the Relative was gone, and he had managed to save Maris from his summon's wrathful attack. Not that she had known any better since he didn't exactly tell her clearly, sooner, but hell they were okay, and that was what mattered for now. Laying outside, against the ground on the stupid broken glass that was everywhere, Momo began to pat Maris' face after the sonic blast had ripped into the mansion. Though, before the soon following explosion, which Momo decided to ignore as he was dreadfully hungry.
He'd done so much already and was out of energy, even if he seen Riyel, and well Ifrit, he wasn't going to give chase as it was. And Maris, well, she was in charge of the Momo snacks. Also of shooting people but that wasn't really important right now. "Hungreee!" He said, not being able to pout, he could whine. "Too hungree." Though, upon hearing gunfire, his ears perked up and he managed his way around to the smouldering front of the mansion, seeing Galbadian Soldiers opening fire on the roof for a moment.
G-Soldiers
There was only around twelve in the entire town, all of whom had arrived on the seen earlier, but hadn't gotten closer due to well... it was like Jurassic Park or something, with large beasts standing out front who they didn't know was who. But, with BIE uniforms on the remaining persons, and only one beast on the mansion rooftop, well, the time to act was now. One sniper on each rooftop flanking the front of the mansion opened fire with their large caliber rifles at the summoned Ifrit, that beast being more of a concern then the man getting onto the creatures back.
See, their fright of the situation hadn't stopped some of their training form coming into play. Especially their anti-terrorist training, which unfortunately, had been delayed, again, due to the summoned creatures. They weren't used to that sort of thing, and even worse, something which they would admit, they had grown complacent believe no Resistance members would actually attack a Sorcerer's home dead on.
Four of the soldiers arrived upon Xaris and Saida, one of them, one of the two only medics the town had in it's force. She wasn't really a pro at it, but she did carry some things. A basic two potion, one hi potion and one phoenix down aid kit. "Scan!" The woman said, taking a quick look at Saida before shaking her head. "Get a stretcher." She ordered to two other G-Soldiers, before speaking to Saida. "How did you receive these injuries?" She could seen the... bones, in their inappropriate manner, but the extent of the damage wasn't really clear, even with a scan spell.
Meanwhile, the other six soldiers were clearing out the buildings around the mansion, as the snipers, knowing their rounds weren't going to stop Ifrit soon enough, still kept a vigilant watch as it fled, taking shots whenever they could.
It was over. In the minutes that followed after Maris and Momo leapt from the window and out to safety as Kafshe's ear shattering cry struck the front of the house with the force of a brick wall on roller skates-- the excitement of the evening finally began to settle. With a final roar, Bahamut, with it's passengers in tow, some old and some new, took to the skies, flying for the forests which lay along the edges of Winhill's boundaries. Riyel, who had either remained behind to ward off followers, or perhaps been left behind, left with a bang, causing an explosion that set fire to the rest of the mansion, while deterring and harming any of the militia who had thought to get too close. He too left, taking advantage of the explosion to summon another GF and bound away after his teammates. Members of the militia followed as far as they dare, and then left it to the snipers to cry and get off final shots, although in the end the target still managed to get away.
Maris lay on the grass, not minding the broken pieces of glass that she was laying upon, nor the ringing in her ears. Momo patted her face, concerned at the fact that she continued to lay there. But for once, Maris ignored the moomba, staring up at the sky, watching as flakes of snow drifted downwards. The snowflakes fell across her face and cheeks, some landing in her eyes-- causing her to blink. It was cold, in the snow, and now that the heat of the excitement had drained away, she felt an even greater coldness inside, face wet from slowly melting snowflakes. "Momo." She said tiredly, reaching out with her hands and pulling the moomba to herself, hugging the warm, fuzzy creature tightly. "I really screwed up..." She continued to lay there for a while, listening to the sounds of gunfires, the stomping of boots, and the shouts of people. The area was illuminated with the light of the burning mansion, and from the corners of her eyes, the woman laying on her side now with the moomba held close, she watched as it burned. Strangely, it all seemed familiar. A time when she was, perhaps, not so brave, not so old, and not quite so broken as she felt now. Twenty years. Twenty years since she'd washed up along the banks of Galbadia, the sound of cannon fire, men dying, and her father's ship burning as she, and Taryn, were placed into a boat and cast off to a land unknown to her. The snowflakes that fell reminded Maris now of ash, and for a long moment she almost thought that she had slipped back into time.
"There she is, Ms. Harton?" Maris sat up as a pair of men in uniform approached, guns in hand. "Ms. Harton, are you alright? We have a medic nearby, seeing to one of your team. Can you move?" Maris warded them off with a hand, releasing Momo and propping herself up on an elbow as she sat up. "I'm fine. What do you mean someone is seeing to one of my team? Whose hurt?" She demanded, climbing to her feet, Momo crouching by her feet, moaning slightly about hunger. "It's, uh... Qamar, ma'am." One said. "She's in rather bad shape. It's a miracle that she's sti-- Hey!" Maris ignored the man, rushing past him and through the square filled with soldiers and citizens, many of whom had turned their efforts to stopping the fire from spreading to the nearby buildings, which had definitely seen better days. She crossed the bridge, which was incredibly still in tact, and when she finally came across Saida and Xaris, she came to a dead halt, looking on at the scene with a feeling of disbelief. "Saida?" Maris called out, moving forward to her friend's side.
"Saida, what happened?" She demanded, fury showing on her face and blazing in her eyes. Fury, concern, and perhaps fear. Saida looked bad, worse than Maris had ever seen her. Sure there had been the few mistakes, someone got a little roughed up, but this looked worse. Way worse. And there was murder in Maris's eyes. No, Saida didn't need to tell her what happened. Maris could already deduce what had happened. Through the images sent by Brynhildr, she could deduce that Gravija had hit the entirety of the roof, not just Lisanna and Bryn. Saida had been up there, as well as another of the team that belonged to Unbroken. A young man with blond hair, and the GF of a large sea serpent. 'Leviathan, which makes him Lloyd Nipal.' Maris burned the image of the young man into the back of her skull. He had goofed doing this to Saida, and Maris wasn't going to let get away with this without paying dearly.
Standing up, she snapped her fingers, waving over a soldier. "You. Hope you have a good memory because I have a job for you. I want you to head over to station and send out an immediate message to Timber, and have them send my birdie out to pick up me and my team. Also, I want the military to send out patrols, all along the coast, inland from here to Timber. I want ports to be closed off, ships to be searched, and any suspicious folk taken into a nearby Bureau Office for questioning and interrogation. And another thing. I want you to contact a Bureau office and tell them to execute orders AS0064, and that H-Team will be along shortly as back-up. You got all that son, or am I going to have to write that down for you? If anyone gives you trouble, just tell them you're relaying orders for Ashe Harton. Now move." She jerked her head, and with a salute, and a "Yes Ma'am!" The soldier took off in a brisk jog. "I SAID MOVE!" She barked, the soldier shouting "yes!" and breaking into a sprint.
Turning back to Saida and Xaris, she regarded Xaris with hard eyes. "You ******** up, kid. And that's going to count for something when we have to report back to brass. For now, check yourself out and make sure that you'll be ready to move out within the hour. Hopefully you can make up for your mistake later. Momo," Reaching into her coat pocket she pulled out a bag and tossed it to the moomba. "Fill your stomach, mate, because we're not done yet. We're going to be putting in some overtime. At least two of Unbroken's leaders were present tonight, and I'm willing to bet that all three of them were here. This is a golden opportunity, ladies, and we're going to take it. Saida..." Her eyes softened slightly as she regarded Saida. "I'm putting you on the bench for this mission. You're in no condition to take part in any action, even if we get you healed up. Besides, this one shouldn't be too hard."
They had struck Maris where it hurt the most, and for that they were going to pay. Fisherman's Horizon has long been regarded by Galbadia as an issue to deal with. But due to it's protection of the Unbroken Resistance, it'd been difficult to deal with, until now. Now, all of it's leaders were gone, and Maris was willing to bet that at this hour every citizen in Fisherman's Horizon was asleep and resting, and it's defense group lax. They would be wide open for attack, and Maris wasn't going to let this opportunity be squandered.
She turned back, looking at the remains of the burning mansion, the light of the fire reflecting in her eyes. "I hope Salem got out of there." She said softly. "And for his sake, I hope he stays far away from Unbroken." Her voice grew harder as she spoke, gloved fist clenching. "We're going to strike at them as hard as we can, and exactly where we know it's going to hurt. And we're going to test just how 'Unbroken' they really are." She had lost Salem, nearly lost Saida, and failed the mission. She wasn't going to let this night be a waste. Not by far. And when it was over, that group would truly understand just who it was that they were dealing with, and how futile their resistance really was.

Xaris smiled happily when Saida spoke despite the rude response she gave. Xaris could care less she was just happy Saida was alive. Xaris pulled Saida up slightly from the ground so she could hold Saida. Xaris pulled Saida's head against her chest and spoke. "I'm glad your alive.......I...I'm sorry you were hurt because of me. I don't know if you can forgive me, but for what its worth I was glad to have met you even through all the fights we had. I don't know how I can make this up to you. I don't think I ever could. We've been on a lot of missions together as a team, but I seem to be the burden of this team." Xaris took a break from speaking so she could get her thoughts in check. This day showed Xaris something. That she was incapable of protecting anyone. Just cause pain to people close to her. She then decided on what she was going to do. "I don't belong with anyone. I shouldn't be on this team. I can't because all I do is get people hurt. The loss of my team, and causing you to get killed was my fault. I lost someone I loved before, and now I almost lost you. All I can do to protect those I love dearly is by lea-...." .Before Xaris could speak anymore some of the militia came in. A medic came by and had started medical procedures. Xaris kept her arms around Saida as the medic did their job. Why did this have to happen the way it did? This was her first time summoning Diablos and this is what happened because of it. With not much compatibility with her GF she couldn't control him, and didn't look ahead at the consequences for summoning him. When she looked at Saida she just felt nothing more than a risk to her fellow group members. Saida wouldn't of ended up like this if Xaris didn't summon Diablos so hastily, at least that was how Xaris felt.
Not too long after the medics had Saida up on the stretcher Maris, and Momo showed up. The look on Maris's face told it all of how she was feeling but then she said this. "You ******** up, kid. And that's going to count for something when we have to report back to brass. For now, check yourself out and make sure that you'll be ready to move out within the hour. Hopefully you can make up for your mistake later." All of this only made Xaris feel more of a burden to the group. Maris was right but, something like this can't be made up. Xaris was the one responsible for getting Saida killed. She was only lucky enough to use a phoenix down in time. Xaris didn't even look at Maris anymore but she nodded to respond to her. She stood up from the ground and turned back to the mansion. She needed to be alone to think so she walked back to what was left of the mansion. When she stood in front of it the event of Diablos using the spell kept rewinding in her head. Xaris went back further and thought of how she should of done things differently. As she turned her gaze around the mansion her eye caught something. She turned her head more, and noticed that Saida's blade Aidan was still impaled into the ground. Xaris walked over to it reaching both hands onto the handle of the blade and ripping it out of the ground. The blade was extremely heavy, and Xaris had to use both arms just to hold the damn thing up. No wonder Saida was strong, to be able to carry, run, jump, or any sort of physical activity that had this thing on your back would have to take a lot of strength. Xaris could only walk while carrying the blade as she made her way back to the group so she could get this to Saida before they would separate. Looking at the blade its craftsmanship was beautiful, and it gave off a sort of feeling that Xaris was unfamiliar with. Strange as it was she ignored it and continued to make her way back to the group.
Everyone was getting ready to head out. Maris was ordering soldiers around, Momo was eating, and Saida was having a medical team ready her for departure for when the evac came. Xaris walked over to the medical staff tending to her, and spoke. "This weapon is hers so make sure she has it with her when you take off.' They nodded. Xaris then had one of the medics take the blade only to see them struggle and nearly fall. It took two medics to hold the blade, and that somewhat amused Xaris, but not enough to make her forget what she had done. She left them to tend to Saida, and walked towards the bridge so she could just be away from everyone. She felt being alone and away from everyone right now was best. All she could do now was just sit on the bridge and wait for extraction.

XXXX Saida hadn’t expected the reaction from Xaris as she found her head being smothered in between the girls chest. It was then that she realized how cold she was. Being wet and then laying on the snow covered ground was chilling her to the bones. The warmth of Xaris chest, as shocking as it was, was welcomed warmth. ”Uh…” she started to say before trailing off as she heard Xaris’s voice. She wasn’t sure if it was the pain that was screwing with her hear if she honestly heard right. Xaris was glad to have met her? Well, didn’t that make her feel like more s**t. Opening her eyes slightly she moved her head so she could breathe easier and so she could seriously look at Xaris.
XXXX”Xaris…” she breathed on a breathy voice.
XXXXWait… Xaris loved her? No… Saida was losing conscious again the pain becoming to much for her brain to keep track of all that Xaris was doing. It almost sounded like the girl was confessing to love-granted it could be the sort of love she had realized she felt. A family or close bond she shared with Momo and Maris. It also sounded like Xaris was leaving. ”Xaris… you-“
XXXXHer head slowly moved towards the medic her eyes half lidded as she tried her best to stay in control. The medic asked her how this happened. ”Heh, funny… story actually…” she trailed off as another wave of pain tore through her. Broken bones did not feel good. She hoped she didn’t look as bad as she felt. Trying to move someone with broken bones was also not a good feeling. White shocking pain shot straight to her brain causing her to black out for a moment as they moved her from the ground to the stretcher.
XXXXSwallowing the thickness in her throat she gazed back at Xaris before looking at the medic. ”Word of ad-…vice… Don’t… play with water dragons… nasty beings…” she was saying to the medic when she heard her name. Her eyes moved from the medic to the woman who moved to her side. A small smile etched on her lips. ”M…Ashe…” She was glad to see she’d made it out of the mansion and Momo too. ”It’s only a flesh wound…I’ll … be right.. as rain-“ she closed her eyes for a moment to squelch the pain. Not something she was going to let happen again. At least not any time soon.
XXXX Saida reopened her eyes when she heard her name. Maris was not happy. This was a rare moment to see her friend with such fury. She was pissed and for good reason too, Saida figured. No one messed with this small group; at least not without repercussions. ”What?” She was about to sit up for a moment to protest but the pain hit her again with force holding her down. A look of disappointment was clear on the girls face mixed with a touch of pain. There wasn't much she could do but sit this one out.
XXXXSaida smiled at Momo as he came to snuggle against her after he’d ate his fill. ”Take care of… yourself out there Momo. And…I expect you all to return…” Her eyes shot towards where Xaris was in the distance. The other girl probably couldn’t hear her pain strained voice but hopefully the rest of the team would come back to her. ” ….‘cause… there’s things I want to … say. …”
XXXX”We need to get her moving now.” They were saying in regard to the cuddling Moomba. ”Fine…” It was clear Saida didn’t want to leave but it was a must for her. As two men lifted up her stretcher they started to take her away. Saida’s eyes watched as the rest of her team get ready to head out. There were things she wanted to say. Damn it she would get to say it to even if she had to raise them from the grave to do so.
XXXXSaida caught glimpse of Xaris carrying over her sword. It was a sigh of relief that it wouldn’t be left behind as she closed her eyes allowing the world to fade away and to slip away from the pain. They hooked her up and took her away to where they could take care of her injuries better. The rest of the team took off as well leaving the destruction of the mansion as a nightmare for others to take care of. It was all a nightmare indeed.
