Nich seemed rather proud as he ran his hands over it, stepping back. "Oh, thanks....It takes a lot longer when I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do, but...I've been thinking about this for a quite a while, so it came easily." He murmured, bowing his head.
"It's all thanks to your hard work." He smiled, glancing back up at him, hoping for another tiny bit of eye contact. He liked Roger's eyes. They were....nice.

They were mismatched was what they were. People seemed to like them for novelty's sake, but Roger thought it made one side of his face look especially surprised. He didn't mind stares either way, and he laughed.
"Flatterer," he said, and shook his head, "When are you done for the day?"

They just seemed to suit him, and Nich couldn't quite put his finger on why. Not yet anyway. His own big blue eyes made him look like a child at some times, that's what his mother and sister always said. But others said he was an angel. Well...He did his best to be nice...
"No, I'm serious!" He grinned, crossing his arms. "I couldn't have done it without you." However, the sudden question of his schedule, made him blink in surprise. "Well...I'm..Not quite sure, actually. Sometime around 5, I usually am done around then, but I really take it on a day by day basis..." He mused, thinking. "What time do you need me to be done?" A little bit of subtle flirting here and there, a few glances...Maybe he was reading into things too much.

Roger cocked a brow and smirked. Oh, was that how it was going to be?
"I have a piece to finish back at the shop, but I needed a break. What if we met at six? I won't begrudge you a few extra minutes. You haven't asked me what I have planned, though." He crossed his arms and gave a Look, insinuating perhaps that dirty old men had their mind in things that you would not really want to leave work for.
"Nah, we should go out, get a drink. It's been a long day, at least on my end. Besides, I like to bring new friends out just once. They feel like they owe me."

That smirk....Nich rather liked that smirk. It seemed to suit Roger rather well and made him well...smolder the slightest bit. He wasn't going to tell him though, he wasn't quite sure yet.
"I can finish this up and get the other started then." He grinned, knocking his fist on the table a few times to make his point. "And so what? Maybe I like surprises." He returned his own look, tilting his head the slightest. He was curious, but it seemed like that sort of look disappeared at his mention of a drink.
"I think I could use one. All that worry from yesterday got my shoulders pretty tightened up. A drink or two'll loosen them, I'd love to come."

"Should I come here, or would you like to meet me at my shop? I don't mind either way," Roger offered, "There's some place good to find on either end. I do have to warn you, though, my Guardian will likely have to come. He's a bit of an idiot and bound to get himself hurt..."
Farthir was a dear friend and companion, but he was more like a child than an equal. He would only last so long before he wandered off to find more trouble than a sleeping child.
He chuckled then, not at the mention of the self-assured deer, but his own thoughts.
'Awh, well we can just get you a proper massage.'
No, no, and no. There was a limit to everything. Friendly flirting became horridly inappropriate at a certain point.

"I'll meet you at your shop, if that's okay. I'd hate to make you walk all the way back over here..." He smiled, tilting his head a little, especially at Roger's chuckling. "I don't mind Guardians. Live with one, you know?" He gestured to under the stairs, where Riven was peeking out quietly.
"She's not terribly friendly...Or that fond of daytime. She heads out during the night." He explained, smiling a little as she ducked back under to hide. "Not too social either."

Roger grinned.
"She's a cute little thing," he offered, charmed by her sudden disappearance. Sometimes he wished that Farthir minded more of his own business.
"Ah, anyway, I'll see you later, yes?" He began to leave, offering a nod.

"She is, thank you." He smiled, nodding. However, as Roger began to leave he waved, and felt a sudden longing for 6pm to come. "See you then, my friend."
Nich ended up working much harder than he thought he would, ending up with a complete table and partially complete chair by the time he had to clean up. A quick change of clothes, a little freshening up, and he was finally on his way. He arrived right on the dot at the smithy, entering quietly to not disturb him in case he was still at work.

The forge was out, but still radiating warmth. The outer door was locked, and a sign on the door read "CLOSED".

Nich wasn't quite sure what to do, standing there awkwardly for a moment. Should he knock? Should he wait? He was supposed to come here, right? After thinking for a moment, he finally went through with the knocking, careful not to be too loud. Maybe he was just freshening up?

There was a soft thumping from within the building and the sound of an opening door. It was a Guardian that responded, pink nose turning the corner before a pair of dulled antlers. Farthir had to make sure that the visitor was acceptable, after all. Roger followed close after, dressed more acceptably now with a jacket folded over his arm. He smiled and pet the deer's hard head, and Farthir snorted and flicked his tail. The pair approached, the deer snuffling at Nic's feet while the blacksmith smiled.
"I'm sorry, my friend. I went a little over-time. Just a moment, if I could..."
He disappeared back around the corner again, taking with him Farthir, who seemed hesitant to go. He hadn't investigated the new man yet, and couldn't be sure he could be trusted... but he had a task. He had a task, and an understanding. Roger murmured his thanks and a gave an affectionate scratch before he turned the corner again, this time alone.
"I did a little extra work," he said, grinning and jogging to Nic, "Just in case I'm not in the greatest form tomorrow morning." He offered a wink then and a jovial bow.
"Sir Nicholas."

Nich seemed rather relieved when he saw Farthir. If he was here, then certainly Roger was as well. Soon enough, his assumption was proven correct, and he found himself soon seeing Roger, dressed more...well...ready to go out. Not to say he wasn't himself, of course.
"No no, it's fine." He smiled, shaking his head. It was no bother to him, even with the Guardian checking him out. He hoped he was acceptable to this new friend of his.
He waited the extra moments, smiling to himself. Well...At least he hadn't forgotten... At the mention of extra work, when he returned, Nicholas perked up. "Oh really? Planning on having a real night out are we?" He teased, hiding just a hint at other things in it. Perhaps he'd catch on...Perhaps not. He gave his own bow, having smirked at the wink.
"Sir Roger. Shall we then?"

Roger was not one to miss such subtlety, and when he stood he laughed and patted Nic once on the back.
"Who knows what the night may bring, hm?! It might help my personal life to show up with you, anyway. It's rare to find a man any taller than myself," he said, and ever so slightly up at the top of Nic's head. "An inch is enough, isn't it?"
He began to walk toward his favorite tavern, one where he was almost sure to get a discount or two, where the people were friendly and the booze wasn't swill. They knew Farthir as well, but they were separate tonight. It felt... nice, actually. Maybe the Guardian was growing up.
"I should ask if you have a preference on where to go, but I find myself not caring," he joked.

"Your personal life, huh?" Nicholas smirked, winking back at him at last. "I get looked at a lot for my height, but perhaps someone will take interest once they see you, huh? I think an inch is plenty." Not that he wasn't the slightest bit curious and interested in Roger, nope.
He was actually surprised Farthir hadn't joined them. Roger had said earlier there was a good chance the Guardian would join in, to which Nich had no qualms, but here they were. Alone. Ah well, it didn't matter that much. Nich was just happy to walk with him, knowing there'd be a good drink at the least.
"Ah no, I don't care at all. You know this half of town better." He smiled, shaking his head the slightest.
