Thom's fingers dug into his knees trying to distract his mind from the pain in his shoulders as she wrapped what remained from his wings. He made no effort to turn his body when she finished, "I.. I think that's good.. thanks" he replied in a pained voice. What had he gotten himself into, he loved Ama, there was no doubt in his mind about this, but his life he knew would never be the same. Even if he failed in the test he knew was yet to come he would never be looked at the same, even by Ama.

Nodding, she stood up and walked a few steps away, her hands moving to rest behind her back. "I... think I should leave now, if you don't mind. My own family is probably worried about me at this point; I was supposed to return a long time ago." She figured he wouldn't mind, but this was at least more polite.
