"Are you kidding? I'm not touching that thing. It looks diseased," Al gave Jordan an incredulous look.
'Ahm no diseased, why would you even t'ink that?!' Al flinched at the voice in his head. Scolding and yet not.
"How do I like... dismiss him, he won't shut up now," Al was sure he felt a frown that was not on his face.

"Ask him to desummon. You don't have to do it out loud." Jordan gave Al a thoughtful look. Had he really forgotten his weapon and why he was here? It seemed improbable - but then again, his guys were currently stuck in mindsets that weren't their own, which was also highly improbable. What had he forgotten? A sneaking edge of uneasiness twisted in his stomach. He knew that something was gone, remembered willingly giving something to Excalibur to help power the strike that had burned away Merlin's resistance. He didn't think he'd forgotten anything important, but if he had ... how would he know?
He leaned his elbow on the table and smoothed the troubled twist of his eyebrows away. "You're stuck with him, I'm afraid," he said. "It's in your best interests to come to some kind of compromise."

"Oh," Al theatrically held out his hand and Nuru vanished from the floor as quickly as he had appeared moments ago. Al eyed the bracelet on his own wrist suspiciously. "Why would we need weapons?" He remembered more than he let on but... well, a lot of it seemed dumb without other knowledge to back it.

"Sort of. Ordinary weapons can't touch them, so we've got special weapons. They're sentient and permanently bonded to us. We're considerably tougher than normal humans, with their protection." Jordan leaned on the table, studying Al; how well was he going to take this?

Jordan shook his head. "No, definitely not. We can take a lot more damage without serious injury, but it still hurts, and there's a point at which the protection will fail. You don't have to worry about that as much; you're in Death division, which is focused on information and tactics, not frontline combat."

"Not my call to make," Jordan said neutrally. "If you really feel you'd work better in a different division, that's something to take up with your division leader - or, well," he amended, "maybe the division assistant in your case, but since you don't really remember what you do right now, you should probably hold off on that decision until you have a better feel for how you're working out."

Jordan nodded. "No problem. You doing all right?" He was repeating his earlier question, but Al had a whole new set of information now to add to how he felt. Even if that was information he'd only forgotten, however temporarily. Excalibur had said it was temporary, anyway. Jordan hoped that that was correct.

Al reached over to grab Jordan's shoulder and offer him a weak smile, "It'll be okay... I think. I mean. I forgot stuff but you tell me the correct stuff. I still don't know but... maybe he needs you to remind him of something too?" He squeezed Jordan's shoulder before releasing it and eying Jordan's plate. "I can try to make you coffee?"
