The strange whirr of gears were getting louder. Something inside the machine was definitely revving up for...something. So far, aside from the latching of teeth and the piercing of something into her grey flesh, all the gears did was pull on the rest of her loose clothing. Tighter and tighter.
"HURRY UP!" She demanded, urgency filling her scared little voice as she tried again to dislodge her arm. He started to go through her pockets, but unfortunately there were several very thick layers to go through before he would find anything even remotely helpful. If any of the outer layers had pockets, it was pretty much food wrappers or some rocks that had funny shapes.
"Inner shirt! NO NOT THAT ONE the black one!" She whined in panic, glancing between the machine and Merope. "This side!" She guided, twisting her body so he could better get at a pocket that was once hidden in the space between her tiny form and the vending machine. "HURRYYYY!"

"Gaaah! I'm sorry!" Merope yelped as he tried to find the correct pocket. A small flurry of empty wrappers and pocket lint was slowly fluttering down as he pulled them out and discarded them, hunting for -- clink!
Merope abandoned Helmut as he pounced on the silver seed, scrambling up and over her to slam-dunk it into the machine. "There! It's in, grab your arm and Carl!"

The gears clicked and slowed to a stop, but nothing really happened. The seed was in, but it did nothing at first. After a moment or two of trying to pull her arm free, she realized why. Her free hand shot up to smack into the little keypad on the side again, and again, and again, until finally:
There was a whirr and a click, and Helmut was able to pull her arm and Uncle Carl's femur free as a sugary little treat fell for their troubles. She grabbed everything that had fallen from the machine, the little strip of Merope's flesh included, and scampered as far away from the thing as she could. The snacks (and the flesh) were clutched to her chest like a precious prize, her eyes wide and staring at the thing she had been stuck in moment's before.
"Th-that...that was..."

"Awful." Merope suggested as he hugged himself, scowling at the vending machine. He kept his fins close to himself as he crossed the hallway, standing awkwardly near Helmut. "L-look," he began, "I didn't know it would do that. I just thought..." He trailed off, shuffling uncomfortably. "I'm sorry."

Helmut considered his suggestion, and had been about to reply when he started to apologize to her. The little ghoul closed her mouth and stared up at him through the eye socket of her helmet, looking a little lost as to what to do now. Finally her head tilted and she reached up to try and grab his arm. Thanks to their height difference, she only grabbed air.
"Are you kidding?" She started, letting go of all the snacks to hop to her feet, this time actually managing to grab his arm. This time, when she stared up at him through the eye socket, her eyes were wide and her pupils quite dilated. "That was great! You were like...Hey here's an idea! And then it all went bad, like in the movies! And then you were all like NOOOOOO and then woosh~" She put her whole weight on his arm in an awkward attempt to make him sit near her. "You saved me! So that was pretty cool, I've never been saved before!" She practically hung off him now, still trying to get him to sit.

"Wh-wh-whaugh!" The undead boil was pulled over, landing with a loud thump on the floor as she pulled him down. "Wh-what are you -- just -- hey -- um --" He stuttered, trying to break into the conversation. "But I -- didn't -- that was --"

Helmut fell to sit neatly beside him, pleased as punch that she had gotten him down. She didn't really let him get a word in edgewise until she was finished with her amazing anecdote on what happened, and even then she wasn't having it.
"Oh, and I think this is yours!" She chirped at the very end, offering him his strip of flesh back. "You have nice skin. It smells good too." Her free hand then raised too, offering him one of the snacks. "And the spoils of war!" Yes, they were just in a war. That is exactly what happened.
