And then with a mighty blow to its head, the thing was downed. Shik watched impassively as he tore its core out with a free hand. This wasn't him anymore; he felt no connection to it.

Shaheen had just sort of waited around for Shik to finish whatever he'd been doing in the blue room. When he emerged, she noted with some interest that he was looking a little bit worse for wear. Well whatever. She'd been eaten by a shark and drowned. Beat that Shik. Yes, apparently this was a competition too. Upon reaching the new floor, she brushed past him, heading straight for the green door, ignoring the way it shuddered as though something was hitting it from the other side, or the screeching sounds from within. She could screech too, if she needed to. She threw open the door, and was immediatly attacked by a hippogryph. A bird horse? Really? Shaheen's wings flared behind her indignantly as she dodged to the side, the creatures claws striking at her leg, leaving behind an odd stinging sensation. Lifting up her sword, she took a swing at it in return, and shouted out her usual battle cry. It screeched at her, and true to form, Shaheen screeched right back at it. There was only room for one winged horse in this room, you awful, giant abomination! That wound in her leg throbbed rather painfully, but she continued to ignore it. It was nothing, just a scratch. She swung at it again. This was one ferocious beast, she would give it that! It swooped in for another attack, and she attempted to block it with her giant sword, her teeth gritted tight and bared. Drawing her sword back, she then swung forward with all of her might, catching the hippogryph in the neck and nearly cleaving it's head straight off. It wasn't going to give up, however, it seemed. "Just die already." She snarled at it's snapping beaked face. The hippogryph must have known that it was nearing it's imminent death. It attacked her with more ferocity, it's slashes and nips stinging her flesh and burning furiously. She wondered if it might actually be venomous, and if that was why everything was beginning to hurt so much. She jabbed at it with the pointy end of her sword to try and get it to back off. Finally she was able to gain a bit of distance again, darting around the hippogryph so that she could swing her sword down on the other side of it's neck. Even as it's head was cleaved cleanly off, however, it snapped at her with it's beak, chomping down on her arm just one last time. She cried out with the pain, unable to stop herself from doing so, a cry that ended in loud, growling curses at it's now collapsing form. Son of a bitching hippogryph a*****e. As it finally disappeared, all that was left in it's wake was some shiny trinkets and a green key. She stooped down to gather these up, and limped her way to the door, breathing rather heavily as she pulled it open and went back to the other side. "Killed it." She muttered under her breath, then nodded towards the door to the next floor. "Guess we should get moving." Loot:

One more damn door. One more, Shik told himself as he strode into the blue one, barely able to look his party in the eye. He was tired and it was starting to show.
Thus he gave about no shits about how very white the room was, though it reminded him of tat one damn task he had failed. And there was a mirror again damn it. No, no he was not going to fail when they were so close--especially if Shaheen was probably just waiting for him to cave.
The mirror image was a replica this time--right down to the weapon.
Good. This would be fast.

It was startling how white the room was and it made her attention go straight to the mirror and that is what she approached first only to find that her reflection suddenly stepped out of the mirror.
Yuzhi uttered a soft sound of dismay as she called forth the spear she'd been using and stabbed her reflection hard.
In her reflection she saw everything about herself she hated - her short stature, the sad look on her face, the way she carried herself...
