Oh, this boss had to be feeling it now. Even if Elium himself wasn't faring as well as he'd hoped now, he was certainly doing better than the Guardian was, all things considered. Just a few more hits, and maybe the damned thing would actually fall--OOC Name of character: Elium. Damage done: Miss- 5+4=9-6=3. CURRENT HP OF BOSS: 12/100. Current HP: 5/40. This time, when a third shade fell, Elium noticed, his eyes briefly widening under his mask as that same warm feeling washed over him.
So, they were sacrificing themselves for him, it seemed. Nothing he could do about that now, even though he still felt that twist in his gut. While he still held some vague hope that they'd get up when the battle ended, Elium knew better. Putting another scratch into the Guardian's helm wasn't exactly a good way to honor the sacrifices of his fallen comrades.

He surged forth, weapon pulled back for a strike before he tried jumping in order to get at the Guardian's chest--
--and with a sharp, ear-shattering clash, he connected, leaving a fairly serious cut behind.
Yes, that was more like it. The boss couldn't stay up on its own forever, and if its sluggish responses were any indication, Elium was quite close to actually killing the thing. A little more was all it took, just like he'd hoped.
Swift strikes, though not much to consider when taken on their own, finally amounted to enough to fell the creature. Breathing out a sigh of relief when the Guardian clattered to the floor, he took a hesitant step forward, weapon still held at the ready in case it decided to get back up for a second round.OOC Name of character: Elium. When he came to the shelves, Elium stopped, looking back over his shoulders at his companions for a second, halfway hoping that they'd be of some use. It was soon made clear to him that they weren't going to be providing him with any useful nuggets of wisdom--alright then, he'd do this on his own. It was only fitting, anyway.
"But be warned," They cautioned, "For should you choose wrong your true self will be lost to you, and you will live a lie. Go forth with a strong heart with the shades of my dearest Companions. They will lead you to your heart's desire."
Ah, yes. That was it.
He reached out to one slender, simple grail, tipping it back without stopping to wonder just how the grail was making its way through his mask. The liquid was pleasantly cool, and he could feel something...change, deep within. It felt as if something he'd lost long ago had finally been returned to him, and he couldn't help but smile as he returned the grail to its place on the shelf.
