Could she bring herself to kill such a beautiful creature? Sure it was vicious, but it was mysterious. Ralifa found herself wanting to stick it in a glass cage and watch it as it roamed about in it's 'natural' habitat. Which it did. Ralifa got a bit too confident and messed up her last attack. The creature mustered up some last bit of strength. Grabbing her by the throat and snapped her neck. Ok monster. Round four ding ding. Although that broken neck had left Ralifa a bit delirious. It was kind of a head rush and she was still a bit disorientated from it. It began to slow, lumbered close to the ground as it's body heaved. Panting. Ralifa watched as it crawled in exhaustion. It's belly scraping noisily against the cavern floor. She stabbed the tip of her spear through it's tail. The action brought little reaction from the beast who was pretty much half dead at this point. Ralifa supposed it was time to put it out of it's misery. It couldn't even really get off a good hit on her anyway. No point in prolonging it's suffering. Or perhaps she had just grown bored watching it crawl on it's belly. Stepping onto it's back, she balanced herself on it's shoulders. Pointing the tip of her spear downwards, Ralifa raised it high. Eyes focused and clear. With one sharp jab she brought the spear tip down into the back of the monster's neck. A sickening crack. It writhed for only a moment's breath before a long, gravely sigh and one last breath left it. The monster's body going limp as grey shadows flowed from it. The task was done. Removing her spear, Ralifa headed back over to the alter in the middle of the cave. Click... click... click. The Goddess' footsteps were hollow as she entered the alter. She did not let go of the scythe she held as she ran a hand along the alter, expression unreadable. She raised her hand to the air and concentrated. Slowly the shadows peeled themselves from the wall, gathering before her. At last they took shape again, solidifying into the beast once more. She was summoned back. Back to the alter. The Goddess called her and so she obeyed. Not that she would have refused. Any chance to gain more favor she would leap at. Literally. As the shadows peeled off the walls and took shape, Ralifa charged straight in. Her spear making a whirring noise in the air as she swept it back and forth among the beasts. It was a fruitless endeavor though. The next jab she made connected. It was a solid hit but nothing lethal. She would have to try harder. Ralifa did not want to fail in this fight. A grunt escaped her lips as she yanked the spear out of the creature of darkness. No good. This attack was no good. The monsters clawed and smacked her around a few good times before she could get the shaft of her spear up to protect herself. Her back was pressed against the wall. If she wasn't careful a shadow might pop off and attack her. Best to get out of this position. She pushed herself off the wall and charged head first, her spear poised to rend any flesh that got in her path. Her next stab was a lot more satisfying as she placed more weight behind it. The spear tip disappearing into the shadow creature, a wide grin splitting her lips. Ralifa gave one of the monsters a quick jab with the butt of her spear, right in the stomach. Or what she could only assume was the monster's stomach. It was hard to tell sometimes.
