GENERAL Name: Andrea Marie Dunshaw Gender: Female Birthday: June 5th House: Slytherin Blood Status: Mixed Wand: 11 1/3rd", Bocote with Unicorn Tail hair core Wand Hand: Right PERSONALITY General: Andrea is a typical Slytherin girl with a huge taste for fashion. Anything that looks great or fabulous, she wants it. If she spies something that looks outstanding on another person, she will go out of her way to stop them and ask them where they got it so that she can get one for herself. She is the type of girl that has a matching purse for every outfit of every day.
She is great with potions more than she is spells, but that doesn't stop her from trying a new spell or two. To Andrea, mixing and crafting potions is almost like an overlooked art form. Even the smallest of drops or ingredients is 'magnificent' or 'marvelous'. She is happiest when she is mixing potions. (It is also the only time where she is remarkably nicer than usual).
Because her parents were rather careless as to express their opinions on muggles while she was a young girl, she picked up on these feelings ten fold. While her parents attempt to tolerate muggles or phone calls and visits from the ever persistent non magical side of the family, Andrea simply despises all muggles. In truth, she is afraid to do so because she doesn't understand them (due to her parents attempting to keep non magical things out of her life) and that leads to her feeling afraid that if she does come to understand them, she will be like them, so she hides these feelings behind a mask of anger. Sometimes she would prefer that they simply stopped existing, as if its some sort of curse or taint that muggle blood is in her once pure lineage. She is far more social to anyone who is a wizard, though she tends to ignore their backgrounds and focus souly upon the fact that they are magical.
Andrea also shares this view, somewhat, towards the other school houses, preferring to only mingle with Slytherins. That's not to say she will -never- talk to someone from another house but she would act as if its killing her to do so and will try to end the conversation and get away as fast as possible. She also is a huge hopeless romantic, dreaming of that perfect Slytherin boy some day in her future...
Habits: Chewing gum and smacking it loudly, blowing huge gum bubbles and popping them, rolling her eyes when she's bored or irritated, flicking her hair, filing her nails in public, sighing loudly if she's upset or annoyed.
Hobbies: Mixing or studying potions whenever she can, browsing fashion catalogs (i assume wizards have their own versions?) , playing dress up in front of any mirror.
Likes: Wizards or magical folk, being around magical folk, anything to do with potions, felines of all types, being dry, looking nice, attention, going to Quidditch tournaments with her parents.
Dislikes: Muggles, being around her muggle relatives, almost every other animal, being dirty, dressing sloppy, others dressing sloppy. FAMILY Mother: Caroline Eva Raunshester (now Dunshaw) / Mixed / Syltherin / Wizard Grandmother, Muggle Grandfather, Wizard Parents, Muggle Sister Father: Lawrence Graham Dunshaw / Mixed / Slytherin / Wizard Father, Muggle Mother, Muggle brother. Siblings: n/a Extended Family: Grandparents (William and Lacey Raunshester) on her mother's side and her Grandfather (Jacques Dunshaw) on her father's side are the only ones she will associate with or talk about. Relationship with Family: Andrea is lose to the immediate magical family from either side and has no qualms about being in their presence. She would prefer to stay away from the muggle relatives and pretend as if they didn't even exist. Her and her family, though being mixed, take this notion with a grain of salt. She is far worse about it than her parents. HISTORY General History: As far back as anyone can remember, the Dunshaw's used to be purebloods. Though a small family, they took pride in themselves and in raising their children to hold the very same beliefs. That is until one day when Nelson Dunshaw, the boy who never agreed with his family views, fancied a muggle woman and ran off to marry her.
He, his wife and two kids, one wizard one muggle, were outcast from the rest of the Dunshaws. Never spoken too and never spoke of. Though try as hard as they may, the number of purebloods in the family began to slowly dwindle as the times changed. What started with Nelson resulted in three other children along the way splitting off to marry muggles until the family line ultimately became mixed on both sides.
Those who retained their beliefs about the non magical world stuck together and moved as far away from their non magical relatives as possible. Those who enjoyed being around both sides stayed relatively close together. It wasn't until Lawrence Dunshaw was born, that the old family way of thinking began to re invent itself.
From the start, Lawrence had a not so great relationship with his mother. In some ways, he almost hated her, but tolerated her for his father's sake. He became increasingly annoyed with her strange, almost neutral views on magic, while he had a grand and most desirable view on his magical abilities. Because his father worked a lot, both in the muggle world and magical world, he hardly had time to ask his father to teach him tricks or tell him about the wizard world and his mother, at times, seemed adamant that Lawrence learn more about muggle ways.
When the time came that Lawrence finally received his acceptance letter to Hogwarts, he left without hesitation, glad to be out of his home, away from non magical things and off to a place he could truly learn real magic. There he met his wife, Caroline Raunshester, whom shared the same sort of views as he did and who despised being around her non magical grandfather. They married shortly after graduating and moved to Norfolk England to be as far away from the rest of their families as possible. There they gave birth to their daughter, Andrea, and attempted to shelter her from all things non magical in hopes of raising a 'proper' witch.

OTHER INFORMATION: Sexuality: Straight Relationship status: Single Currently: Not interested in anyone Children: N/A - WAY too young.
MISCELLANEOUS Boggart: Andrea's boggart would take the form of a man who is as muggle as you possibly could be, coming at her with a twisted malicious face and glint in his eye, suggesting the intent upon causing her physical harm. Her charm would change the man into wearing a bright pink tutu and to have buckets of slippery ice beneath his feet so that he could not even stand up.
Mirror of Erised: She would see her self surrounded by nothing but pure blood wizards, with a pure wizard husband, two children, being pure blood herself, and the favorite amongst community.
The Sorting: Andrea shuffled in with the rest of the first years, flipping her hair back over her shoulders as she smacked her gum rather loudly and cockily. Her lips pursed as she watched the students before her get sorted into their various houses.
"Ravenclaw!
Must be... Hufflepuff!
Gryffindor!!"
The girl rolled her eyes and flicked her hair once again, pausing to stare at her nails as if she were bored out of her mind. Her surname, beginning with a D, meant she hadn't long to wait and good thing too. She could hardly stand being so close to these.... losers. In her mind, she already knew where she belonged. Her family had a history of being placed in Slytherin and so not a shadow of a doubt formed in her mind. At least... not that she let on.
Her entire ride over, she had managed to be lucky enough to chat with some second and third year Slytherins, hoping to impress them with what she had already begun teaching herself. Potions were her thing, naturally, as was her wizard mothers. But now that she was actually nearing the sorting hat, a tiny sensation began prickling its way up her spine, sending goosebumps all over her skin.
A few more students were called next, the sorting hat taking longer on some, shorter on others. It was her turn soon and suddenly she found herself feeling something she usually never felt before. Anxiety coupled with the hope that the hat would take longer on this child so as to delay her turn further....but alas it would not be so.
Hufflepuff!" the hat shouted out followed by a brief moment of silence....
"Andrea Dunshaw..." a voice then called and students began to look around for the matching face.
Taking a deep breath, Andrea did her best to swallow her fears and stepped up to take a seat. She glanced out over at the Slytherin tables, a few of the students she had met earlier giving her thumbs up. One cute boy in particular gave her a cocky smile which made her cheeks flush. She sucked in a breath of air and attempted to return the smile, though Slytherin knows it might have come out extremely awkward on her face.
Suddenly, her head felt warm and strangely alive as the hat made itself comfortable. It seemed to hum in thought for a moment, which made her pause and begin to question what might be taking so long. Shouldn't it have shouted Slytherin already? Clearly her family line... though being mixed along the years, would have told it by now she definitely belonged in Slytherin. Andrea smacked her gum again, louder this time as she grew increasingly more anxious.
"Child, why do you fidget. It's clear what I'm to do with you, silly you should harbor doubts now.... Of course it has to be... " it paused, as if it were drawing out the results just to make her fidget more, before the hat's voice rang loud and clear across the great hall. "SLYTHERIN!"
Applauds and cheers erupted from the Slytherin table. Andrea finally let out the air she had been holding in for what seemed like ages. She slipped off the seat just as the hat left her head and made her way over to her new housemates. She flicked her hair back yet again and smoothed out her robes, her mouth moving rapidly with each chew of her gum.
"Well well, seems you were right after all. Welcome to the ranks of Slytherin, Rea." the one cute boy from before grinned as he patted the empty seat next to him.
Andrea pulled her usual cocky, cool and collected face. "Well duh, where else would I end up? Slytherin is in my blood." she grinned and took a seat next to the boy, silently thanking the heavens that was over.
Patronus: Bengal Tiger. She has a huge love for cats and views big cats as something fierce, strong and regal.
Greatest Treasure: Her cauldron, which was given to her by her mother who is also exceptional at potion mixing.
Manner of Dress: Fabulous! Anything that is the latest in fashion including excessive amounts of jewelry, short skirts, high heel shoes, frilly and low cut blouses, etc.
Favorite Class: Potions. She finds potion mixing and history highly interesting and exciting. To her, carefully mixing a potion and added even the smallest of drops is like art.
Worst Class: Charms, as she is not great with casting spells though she tries as best she can.
