Al took the tamale gratefully. He eyed its veiny surface with confusion. Plant stuffs, blech, but if Rep could do it... he opened his mouth wide.

"Whoa, just a sec, wait," Jordan interrupted, "sorry, the husk on the outside is just the wrapper, you peel that off first."

Al was deterred from that initial bite. "Oh," He turned pink as he sat the tamale back down to unwrap it. The contents looked about the same as the cafeteria food (which he actually enjoyed). He reached for a fork and took a forkful of the contents and stuck it in his mouth. Chewed. Then swallowed. He kept the look on his face completely unreadable.

Jordan waited a few moments for a response. Then he said, "Oh, well, if you don't like it, I can just take care of the rest of it. Not a problem."

"I guess I"ll just have to find you a donut or something," Jordan said, shaking his head sadly, and went to take the tamale back.

Al waited until Jordan's hand got close enough to almost remove the tamale before pushing the hand away and then looking at him expectantly, "A doughnut sounds lovely."

Jordan raised an eyebrow at Al. "So which one are you taking? The donut or the tamale? 'Cause dude, apology notwithstanding, if you're gonna keep that I'm not going to go fetch you a donut."

Al waited for the hand to near the tamale again before shooooving it away again, "Don't you want the tamale back?" he stared expectantly again as if he hadn't just done that.
