Watching the girl look around the area as they walked slowly through the city, Tenrai couldn't help but reach up to scratch the back of his head in silent curiosity. She seemed to be looking for something specifically, but at the same time the way she went about moving and doing things just screamed a nonchalant apathy that lead him to believe that maybe she was just looking around for something to pop up that seemed interesting. After all, he'd only just met her, hell he hadn't even gotten her name before he followed along behind her towards who knows where. He was more than capable of taking care of himself when it came to fighting, but he wasn't really that good at interacting with people to try and talk his way out of things. Then again based on how the girl acted while walking around and interacting with him for the brief moment when she first mentioned her destination she wasn't really great at talking either. After a second of thought he sped up slightly, his stride extending far longer than most people so it was quite easy for him to walk in front of her for a brief moment before turning on his heel. Crossing his arms over his chest tensely the male tapped his foot briefly before speaking in a low tone, leaning in slightly as if telling a secret to the girl. "I decided to let you in on my special secret, my name isn't actually Constantine Marquise...it's Tenrai Hiragi, and believe it or not...but I may be a super elite special spy that goes by the codename of 007, just kidding that's copywritten...or is it?" Whistling innocently the giant of a man turned on his heel, his cape flaring dramatically as he did so before he stopped mid-step forward, realizing despite what he'd just said he had no bloody clue where they were going. With that in mind he just awkwardly whistled, choosing to ignore the random person who he'd never met that approached the now identified as an assassin girl.

                                                            Energy: 900
                                                            Pain Points: 550
                                                            Stats 13/6
                                                            Equipment: Plate Armor, various weapons
                                                            Passives

                                                            • Angelic Fervor
The Nephilim regenerate faster than any of the angelic brethren. They regenerate all minor wounds almost instantly, and by Expert rank they can regenerate mangled limbs. By master they can survive fatal blows and regenerate complete limbs. However, total destruction of their brain, decapitation, or the almost complete destruction of their body will kill them. Thus, their regeneration falls behind Fairhair significantly.

                                                            • Seeker of Evil
The Nephilim have astounding perceptive capabilities. They can sense evil and read energy signatures. They can perceive the minute flow of movements within an enemy's body, making them exceptionally skilled swordsmen. They can tell if someone is of a holy or unholy bloodline, and use this knowledge accordingly.

                                                            • Might
For a Nephilim, strength matters far more than speed. The higher your strength, the larger your abilities, the more durable your physical body and your armor, and the stronger the holy effects of your attacks and weapons will be. While most tend to prefer outspeeding their opponents and looking for an instant-killing method, you rely on brutalizing the opponent and shutting down their advances. Considering your high extrasensory capabilities, you can often shut down a whole combo with a mere counterswing of your blade. Contact with it can leave foes knocked back and dazed.

                                                            • The Claim Passive
Often, every knight has a single blade that defines his victories. This single blade that the knight has Claimed is one rank higher than the user and scales with them is more powerful than the average custom weapon of its rank. Each Claimed weapon must also be approved in the Custom Weapons thread.

                                                            • Devour Passive
The ability to steal the life force of another to replenish your PP meter seems almost unholy. However, the transfer is anything but. Life is pure and raw, and the Reaver understands that. As such, the life transferring ability becomes a part of of every strike made by the Reaver. Direct contact is not necessary, as the Reaver has developed not only the ability to sense pain coming from others, but the ability to absorb the pain from several yards away. The range is limited to the area that the user is in. Not limited to opponents.

Based on the skill that is used, the user regenerates a certain amount of pain points.
                                                            E Ranked: 5 Points
                                                            D Ranked: 15 Points
                                                            C Ranked: 35 Points
                                                            B Ranked: 60 Points
                                                            A Ranked: 85 Points
                                                            S Ranked: 100 Points
                                                            SS Ranked: 200 Points

                                                            • Pain Passive
The Reaver projects a constant aura (radius of 10 meters) that seeps into anyone the user wishes and causes them rather mild pain. For every person infected, the user gain back D Ranked Power Points, thanks to Devour. This attack is fully capable of being boosted, though once boosted, the cost in power points will equal one rank below what you are receiving. If it is boosted to B Rank, it costs C Rank to use.

                                                            • Your Pain is My Drug Passive
As long as the user is inflicting pain on another, the user gains a +1/+1 to stats. The user feeds off of this pain, and the effect is most definitely stackable for every enemy.

[ Timeline Future ]

Something changed, and it wasn't her fleeting companion's name or appearance. Although, those were rather jarring if of little concern. He'd gone from a distinctly toned Fraxonian of some girth to an equally fit but much skinnier Fraxonian. Face shape, eyes, hair color and type, and even ear shape changed. Weird, and so was his sudden name reveal. Nai catalogued that this guy was bad at his job and wondered if he was going off to do his own business.

That wasn't important, though. There had been another change in Sloth, and it made the assassin stop in her tracks. For the second time, he had disappeared without a trace, yet this time was different. Nai could still feel the burden of the Sin. Although, it no longer had the overwhelming pressure on it.

{They have gone, but their sins remain,} X quipped, confirming Nai's observation.

Nai actually felt like she could muster the energy for a response, but didn't. That would be a waste of time. Even the matter of Sloth, while important, had been done and there was nothing she could do about it.

During her brief stop, someone had taken advantage of her pause and chosen to approach her. She recognized his attempt for secrecy. He claimed to know her. She would take his word for it, but just because he knew her didn't mean she had to reply to his criticism. Although, she didn't even take it as such. They were just observations she already knew and questions she didn't need to answer. What did it matter to him if she was trying to hide or not and her purpose for being in the port? She knew that it didn't matter to her that he know. That being said, though, she did want to avoid any disturbances during her errand.

To his comment on the locals not appreciating blood, Nai's succent response was, "Then don't cause any." Message given, she started walking again, catching up to the awkwardly whistling spy who apparently did want to follow her. Nai didn't mind more people following her. She didn't care enough to stop them.

It was only a couple more blocks before Nai stopped in an overly extravagant store. She stared blankly at the gaudy face of Carter's Cartography. It certainly looked rich, but how something this embarrassingly garish made it into the renowned luxury shopping districts of the port was a mystery to those who didn't know its real value.

Unabashed, Nai walked in. The interior was equally sparkly. There were lavish frames hung everywhere. Landscapes and other scenic paintings filled much of the wall space. Numerous souvenirs from all over Axiom were also arranged neatly but fancifully on the various tables and counters. As bad the store's sense of fashion was, the merchandise was truly fit to be in Acedia's richest district. An expert would confirm these to be high quality and genuine articles.

However, the true stars of this establishment were the maps. Maps of all kinds. Each of these maps were some of the best of the best. The ones of common design and subject were of the highest accuracy and the more valuable of these common types had little tidbits of rarer information. Those of more uncommon location boasted accuracy and detail not found in most other maps. The windows displayed the store's prized maps, their dullness accentuating the questionable design choice of the rest of the store front. The big table in the center of the store had a glass cover and beneath it were maps of all sorts. Above the paintings, taking up more than half the wall space were even more maps on display. Carter of Carter's Cartography had so many of them because he made a good deal of them himself. However, even these weren't what Nai sought. If her information was correct, Carter was actually in the store right now. She would need him present in order to even see if he had the map she wanted.

Nai left the others to do as they pleased. She figured that Tenrai could learn of some interesting places by looking at the souvenirs and paintings from around the world. If Vex was still following her, then he could figure out what he wanted to do himself. Nai's business, meanwhile, was with the front des. She approached the store's counter civilly. Although, the person on duty could not be faulted for flinching. Nai's all-black outfit made even civil movements threatening to civilians who were strangers to violence.

"Carter?" Nai queried in a monotone.
The clerk, still frightened, answered as steadily as he could, "E-excuse me? Oh. U-um. I believe he is o-out ma'am."
Nai pressed forwards, ignoring the negative in case it was a lie, "To purchase a map." He words were accompanied by the procuring of a hefty amount of currency, several times more than what any one of the maps displayed in even this extravagant of a shop would cost. She was no pampered lord or royal, but she could take on work that did not come cheap and she lived frugal life with nowhere else for her money to go.
"Uh-uh," the cashier's stutter got worse, "L-let m-me d-double ch-check..." It looked like he couldn't refuse that much money.

The clerk came out almost immediately with a gangly, well-dressed old man following right behind. He wore colors as gaudy as the store's decorations. His eyes darted to the gold before trying to peer into the shadows that obscured Nai's hooded face. "So, you want to buy a map o' mine?" he interrogated, eyes squinting in a continued attempt to see Nai's face.
Nai didn't have the time for pleasantries. She never did. "Essfraxon," she made it crystal clear what she was looking for.
"So a map of Kevai, Amaranthine, and Geshan, huh? Adventeurous one, aren't ya?" the old man quickly picked up on what Nai meant while his assistant appeared to still be puzzling it over. His hand raised to point out a map in the room, "How 'bou-"
"No," Nai made it clear that she didn't want any of the maps in the room. She had already seen them, and the did not contain the details she wanted.

Of course, clear for her wasn't always actually clear. The gramps took several more suggestions before realizing that Nai wouldn't want any of the maps here. "Huuuuuh. A hard one to please, eh? I see that you want the goods in the back," he fearlessly chuckled.
Then again, he had nothing to fear. Nai meant no harm. She just stared at him until she was led into the back, scooping up her gold on the way in.
