Virali slowly let the leaf drift to the ground. She really needed to work on her magic, she mused. At least even this small thing was enough for the amusement of some fellow travelers. Life on the road was not easy and she took any enjoyment in it she could. Even with his warbled notes here and there, Terrowin played beautifully and Virali just couldn't help it. She hopped up and twirled and danced along to the music too for a short while, arms rising gracefully and wrists flicking out with the beat of the song. Her long green sash flowed around her body as she laughingly spun, sunlight glinting along the embroidery, making her clothes seem dipped in gold.
Her head thrown back, Virali looked up to the sun. It was weak and pale and dappled down across her tanned skin. Something about today made her forget all propriety. She wished she could just spin away on a breeze to the home of the sun. But ah, it was far past noontide. Suddenly she stopped mid-spin, her face on level with Terrowin's. Leaning dangerously close, she whispered, "Just a little longer, please," lips almost brushing his ear. The words tripped and sneaked under the notes flowing out of his instrument. She leaned back and smiled brilliantly at Tiffan. Holding out one hand, palm flat, Virali dipped a quick curtsy. "Will you dance with me?"

It seemed to be entertaining enough, regardless of how small of an act it was. Tiffan laughed breathlessly, spinning to a halt as the leaf fell, turning unsteadily so she was facing the mage once again. The last of the dizziness left and her vision righted itself just in time for her to watch the last of the woman's dancing. Her tiny mouth gaped in a smile as she jumped into the offered palm, not even wondering the logistics of a being only inches tall dancing with a normal-sized human.
Terrowin, though, quickly leaned back when Virali's face suddenly appeared before him. Mutely he nodded, the music silenced for a few moments as he got over his shock, but soon again lively music began to fill the clearing.

Virali danced like the wind blew, free and flowing, cupping Tiffan tight in her hands so she would not fall. Gradually, she fell into a more structured pattern: a courtly dance learned during her brief stay in Anica. Tiffan was held in front of her, the smallest dancing partner. Her boots scuffed on the dry ground, bringing up a small dry wind to play havoc with the dust. one two three four bow two three She moved lightly, but precisely; dancing had always been easy for her, though she was prone to improvisation.
Turning lightly one last time, she deposited Tiffan gently on to the rock next to Terrowin. "A fine dancer." She hooked her staff with one foot and levered it quickly, seamlessly into her waiting hand. Virali smiled at Terrowin. "I'm afraid I really must be on my way. I enjoyed your music very much. Thank you for sharing it." Her smile was a little sad as she hoisted her pack. She paused and bent, quickly pressing one kiss to each of Terrowin's cheeks. A formality, they were light, a dry brushing of lips.
"May we meet again."

Tiffan began to hum along with the music as Virali spun her around, arms waving about in an exaggerated parody of a formal dance she had seen once. Once she had been deposited on the ground again, she spun around a few times before bowing deeply to the woman with a laugh.
A faint flush crossed Terrowin's cheeks as he bowed his head slightly at the praise. "You as well," he said quietly, looking up just in time to catch the kisses on his cheeks. Goodness. Well, it was good that he still had some of that sunburn from when he came back from Mishkan, at least some of that blush could be attributed to that. "And may your pay the free of obstacles," he replied, bowing slightly from his sitting position.
Two hands waved goodbye to her, one tiny, the other long and spindly, and both of them were smiling, and as they disappeared from her view, the sound of a flute and a small, high-pitched voice followed her down her path.
