It had been a weird night indeed. Akeem was a diligent man and took his jobs very seriously So even when he had gotten off of his shift guarding the Emperor, he had headed straight for the training zone to try and put in time with the soldiers. This was where the Djinn actually preferred to be; honing his abilities as well as shaping the future warriors of his nation. It filled him with pride, and the ache of his muscles afterward was a boon to him. So when five of his own men had approached him with tensed bodies and shifty eyes, Akeem almost didn't realize the deception. There was a disturbance at the training facility and he was needed. That had set him off at a brisk run, but his men fell behind him and suddenly Akeem had a weird twinge in his stomach. This wasn't right. He slowed to a halt and turned slowly, eying the men carefully. Each of the faces were ones that he did not recognize. Akeem turned his body so that he was a smaller target and acted on instinct. As he shifted into a battle stance, so did the others.
That had ended swiftly and with little to no harm to Akeem. He had proved a superior warrior to them and dispatched them with haste. The Djinn was rushing now, sprinting through the streets and trying to make it to the captain's office in Helicanth. He had to warn Maria and others he knew to be loyal to West, something was afoot. Akeem burst in the door with a shout on his lips but faltered when he spotted West there. He looked to his Emperor with concern, then to Maria, and finally to the siren standing around looking entirely out of place. Akeem shook the stupor from his face and clapped a fist over his chest, giving West a fiercely loyal look. If he was away from the palace maybe something had happened. "Whatever you need, West. I am ready." Akeem had once said he'd follow this man to the ends of earth and beyond. He hadn't been lying about that.

Maria could only smile at Fable and placed her hands on her hips, ready to tell her that if she wanted to tame them that was fine. The entire reason she was going there was because these beasts were nuisances. Slaying them, taming them, relocating them, all of those things worked for her purpose. But before she could speak there was an extremely loud sound ringing in her ears. She grabbed her head crouching away from the sound until it all stopped. She opened her eyes and stood tall before the emperor, his words making her neck hair stand on end and her pupils shrink into slits of rage.
Kaminae's head is mine, my lord. She spoke clearly as he said Gaston was trying to steal their glory. No matter who had the pages, who wanted glory, or what ever else would go on. Kaminae. Was. Hers. The thought of ruling Yuran and Kranila was one thing, but she was more focused on Gaston and the b***h of the sea. As if to cement her words, Intet gave a hearty roar. A trident made of ice froze in her hands, pure and crystal clear. She leaped, mighty dragoon legs carrying her straight through the roof onto her old friend. "We must leave at once, my lord! They don't get a head start!" As she said this, Intet again roared and raised his wings straight into the air, fully extended and glistening as droplets of water scattered through the air.

The Emperor nodded to Maria, and then smiled brightly at Akeem. He raised his fist to give his warrior a bump against the chest. Then, he looked Maria in the eyes and gave her the order -- perhaps the last he'd give. After today, things would be different. Very different. They'd split the world between them and the dynamic between the three would change tremendously. West would go where he belonged -- the west. Akeem would rule the east, and Maria the north. But that was only if they all succeeded. "With Kaminae's death, the Aramilian Empire will become unstoppable. However, it will no longer directly be in my hands. Akeem, I do not just offer you Kevai this day. I offer you all of the eastern lands and the claims to all of the eastern lands; I offer you the Kingdom of Aramil, the Kingdom of Kevai, and potentially the restored Kingdom of Amaranthine. To Maria, I offer you Kenai; Yuran and Kranila, two Kingdoms that together could rise to form an Empire rivaled to Fraxen and Aramil. We will become the new balance of powers, the three nations that will lead the world to the new age. I will take my place on the throne of Fraxen, after I take Gaston's head. Due to his attempted assassination of me, it is legal beneath the laws of Gods and Men for me to slay him and take back what is mine." He turned around, and opened a door that led to the center of Fraxen; the heart of the city, where his brother lay.
Gaston's end was to come. He knew it. He had never felt so absolutely sure of anything. "You two will kill Kaminae together. The center of Fronta's navy should possess the twenty-four pages. Kill the Admiral. Do not kill the rest. That navy will soon be mine to command, and I'll need it for what I plan on doing -- something that will be possible with Kaminae's death, the deconstruction of Val'Ghast, and the rise of a final Fraxonite colony." He knew it would be possible; that monsters could one day expire from the world. He planned to be the one to plant his seed there, in Val'Ghast, those fertile lands. That was a plan for the future, but West was always pondering on the future, was he not?
"I don't know what the pages will reveal to you. I don't know if you'll live or die. If you do die, however, then wish me luck. I'll need it, ruling six of the world's greatest Kingdoms." He smiled slightly, though out of their sight, and stepped through the dimension door.
(Just to specify; what West is offering is essentially a Holy Roman Empire-esque system. Aramil/Kevai, Yuran/Kranila, South/North Fronta will all be Kingdoms under the "Fraxon Empire", but they will be autonomous enough to compete with each other as long as it's domestic.)

Akeem stood there for a moment taking it all in. The mission wasn't something he was overly worried about. It wasn't that he thought this would be over easy, no Akeem had no doubt in his mind that this task would be the hardest thing he had ever done. What surprised him was how much of the world West just said he'd become King of. Originally it had only been Kevai and that had been soemthing that did not bode well with the Djinn. He had no royal blood, no planned upbringing. All he had was him being a soldier. But he had eventually come around, concluding that there was no greater way to serve his emperor than in this way. But this was a much bigger job. The Djinn felt the weight of Aramil pressing down on him and knew then that there was certainly no room for error. He balled his hands into fists and stood patiently, listening to the debrief of the mission.
His mind shifted from politics and right into his most comfortable role; that of a warrior. Aramil had its own navy as well, but sending it out while Kaminae still retained her power was suicide. His golden eyes flicked over to Maria. "Your dragon." The Djinn said simply. It would best to approach from the skies, hopefully over the cover of the clouds. Then, Akeem could drop down from the skies and take care of the Admiral as swiftly as possible. After the pages are united and the method of removing the Sea Witch's main power is understood they would deal with Kaminae. For that they would both need to be present. Akeem had to be close to his opponent and would do his best to debilitate the witch. Together he and Maria should be able to do this. Akeem paused to watch West go and then turned himself, a simple wish kept in his mind. Don't die, West." It was left to Maria now and how she would like to proceed with this mission.
A rush of events. Suspense thick in the air. The one thing that coudl catch more of Fable attention than dragons was happening right before her. Regardless of the outcome of the battle, if Fable had heard everything right, history was going to be made. With history, came stories. Here she was, in a position to witness an event much like those that had spawned the countless stories she adored.
So was Fable going to run like any other civilian? No, she was going to stay and watch. As for who's side she will be on? Fable would not say. A good story teller, in her opinion, was able to find the glory in both sides. Resolve made, the woman shrugged off her jacket and tied it firmly around her waist, freeing her arms. She took a step back, away from everyone and stretched her arms high above her head. Feathers popped into existence along the length of Fable's limbs and once she had full wings, she flapped them down with all her might. An aerial view was always the best to take in the full picture.

Maria, looking from Intet's lowered head through the door and listened intently. So she would be getting Kenai after all. This show of dominance, this show of strength you might say, would be perhaps her greatest trial. But the end result, her life rewarded after all this time, would be the best feeling of all. For all of her inner workings, being a Mer, sharing her mind's occupancy with a continually growing, wiser than perhaps she knew sea beast, killing a king and then the attempt on his throne... everything she had done truly did boil down to one, basic thing. She was a creature of ambition. One of no meanial type. She'd watched her family be slain before her very eyes. She knew of pain, adopted it into her philosophy of life. She knew, very precisely, how cruel and unforgiving the world could be. She also knew anger. She was the vessel for rage incarnate. Hate and hunger for revenge against the whole world ruled her just as strong. Intet peered into West's words just as she did. His intuition was on point as he stared at him with one of his vicious but calm eyes. He sensed that the man wanted a similar thing to what Maria did.
Maria looked at West with a slight bit of longing. He'd been good to her as an emperor, given her oppurtunity where others may have just scoffed. He and Isis were important to him in ways no one else could really ever understand. She'd never told him. She knew she didn't need to. As he spoke his final words to them, Intet puffed air out of his nostrils, cooling Maria in a soothing way as her tears tried hard to fight through. When you meet him again, it will be a different meeting. He has given you something special, Meysa. Intet spoke to Maria in her mind. He gave you what you gave me just now. A future. When you meet again, he's made it so that you will meet as equals. Maria sat silently as the door closed, Intet's words like cushioning on the blow. When all was said and done, she'd be above the remains of Kaminae, and there would be a lot ahead of her.
She looked to Akeem. Focusing now on her current objective. Intet and I won't be much help to you. Not unless you can breathe underwater. Get a rebreather and be ready. Intet and I are going to show this navy of submerged ships a wrath far greater than Kaminae's. Do what it is you do best. As she said this Intet gave a guttural grunt in approval. Maria looked Akeem dead in the eyes. This fight will be our last as soldiers of the Aramilian Emperor. Let's do this for West. Good luck to you. she said, her meritian accent a little bit heavy towards the end. Intet coiled his limbs, his tail, even his wings, before springing straight up like a missile, his speed unnattural for such a huge beast. He tucked his wings as they hit the barrier in the sky, and into the ocean they suddenly were. Using his wings and finned tail, the dragon moved even more smoothly than it had before. She could hear her targets. A huge navy amassed in the name of a false king. It was time. Fronta knew not of her wrath yet, but it would find her more than a simplistic mer girl.

Sophia runs into the Academy Office, carrying her rapier, jian, shield, and crossbow, the weapons she had opted to carry around for now. She slows down upon entering the Office area, and begins looking around for who she should talk to about introducing herself, possibly making something of a name for herself quickly. She is obviously a bit excited about the idea of getting started with working as a Knight.

Saleria had just arrived at the academy, turning heads because of her kind not being known to reside down here. She was the first to stray from the path and chose to reside in the Underwater utopia of Aramil. Saleria walked around till she had gotten to the Office, noticing Sophia there. She smiled and walked over to the human, her heat proceeding her as she reached out her hand. "Nice to meet cha, you must be new here, so am I."

A man suddenly shot up from behind a desk. He was balding greatly and it appeared that every piece of hair he once had atop his head had made its way to the mass of bushy beard he sported. "You two can make conversation later! Don't you know what's going on?!" He shouted in a booming voice. The man was of course referring to the entire Fraxon Navy assembled just outside of Aramil, and of course the Sea Witch Kaminae herself engaging in battle. Thousands upon thousands of citizens had rushed to watch, others took shelter. Many of the soldiers were stationed already in defense of the city from that direction. That meant there was no one to quell the constant stream of monsters that leaked in from Vhal'Ghast and Amaranthine. "You two, I don't care who you are. If you're here its to make yourself useful, surely. Head on over to Dathan Town and beat back the swarm of beasts that are trying to take over the damned colony!' It was a simple enough mission, really. No tricks or mysteries. All that it required was stamina and the ability to slaughter as many monsters as the pair could manage before dying.
Sophia reaches out and shakes Saleria's hand. She is about to introduce herself when the man with the shifting hair appears. She listens to what he has to say. "That actually is what I came here to ask about, to see how I could help." She nods. "Alright, to Dathan Town, then." She looks at Saleria. "I'm Sophia. Let's go." She smiles and runs out. ((Exit))
Saleria looked to see the man's face rise up, his large a** bushy beard moving with his voice. Saleria couldn't help but giggle before busting out laughing as he was talking. She placed a hand over her own mouth, snickering with laughter as he was mainly bald. His request of the mission made Saleria's eyes glint and caused her to grin, two women out to a town to defend them from a swarm of monsters. "Let's go and kick some a** girly!" Saleria told Sophia with a big smile on her own face.

Sophia reenters the Academy, and heads towards the balding bearded man who had sent her and Saleria to Dathan Town. She fixes herself up a little so as to look more presentable. "Sir, the defense of Dathan Town was a success. The enemy has been driven back, though there were a good number of casualties, soldiers and civilians alike. Some reconstruction will need to be done, but it is safe from further damage for now."
Saleria had returned right after Sophia, smiling as she was still dry, going into the office as Sophia was giving the report. "We had to fight this huge fatty orc guy that was jumping all over the place!" Saleria stated with a small giggle.

The mustachioed man was busy shuffling papers around and signing what appeared to be everything he could get his hands on. Occasionally an armor clad soldier would burst into the office and hand him another report. THe man would swear and move to a map, remarking positions and pushig around figurines of the warring parties. It looked like the Fraxonian navy was retreating, leaving the big three to contend with each other. When the girls came in and made their report the man grunted in response and remained silent for a second, staring at a map. His eyes widened and he thumped the desk with his fist, making the little figures jump into the air. "Good work then. I need you two to help oversee evacuations here in the Landing." The man said in reference to the city they were actually in. "Problem is, there are upstarts and hooligans causing riots all around. Go and stop them. These are our people, if even a single one of them dies because of the ineptitude of a soldier I'll have that soldiers arse decorating the mantle above my fireplace, got it?" His beard meant business, it was best not to disobey his orders.
