Fresh flowers were always best. Mai didn't like leaving anything on the grave.. She doesn't know why, she just doesn't. She usually just talks to her and tell her about everything and leaves. Mai has a job as a professional photographer and is going to school for art. Mai isn't a musically inclined girl, she'd rather be behind the scenes, which is why she's going for music management. Mai bent down to the tombstone and touched it lightly. What caught her off guard was that her sister's name was above someone elses. And it wasn't anyone she knew. She blinked as she touched it and tapped it lightly. "Nicky," She said as she whipped her head to him. She stood up and walked away, stomping her feet away. "How could you! How could anyone!" She was mad. She was livid. She paused as she crossed her arms. "How come it only took a friggin' year for me to find out!? And no one told me! I had to find out by her tombstone. Well, thanks. Thanks a lot, Nicky. That's great."

At first, Nick was confused as to what Mai was talking about then he noticed where her hands were lingering on the tombstone and her rage... She had found out about the pregnancy... "Why do you get mad? It's not you who lost a child..." he said rubbing his temples and looking away. He felt like he would tear up.

Mai laughed sarcastically at him. Her eyes weren't red like last night, but they held such anger, such regret. She turned her full body to him and kept hitting his chest. It wasn't hard or anything.. It was more of a weak hit. "It wasn't you who lost a sister!" She stopped hitting him and just calmed down. "What possess you guys not to tell me?"

Nick sighed. "This is exactly why we didn't tell you! Stop being so selfish. We all lost something when Lily died. You lost a sister and a best friend and I lost my fiance and my child. We didn't even know she was pregnant until they ran the autopsy on her...I didn't know she was pregnant..." he said. To stop Mai from hitting him, Nick merely embraced her. The wind's whistle got louder and the cawing of the crows was the only sound.

Mai was embraced by Nick. Her eyes widened. No, no.. She thought. She pushed him away. "Me?! Selfish!?" She yelled. "Oh! That's just great." She scoffed. "If I am so selfish, then what makes you so special? Thinking that you could just drink the night away and that'll be okay?!?" Mai turned on her heels and walked off across the street, passing his car. She wasn't happy nor was she angry. She was hurt. She was going to go somewhere and chill out before she can go to work. She couldn't bring her clients into this.

"I just told you that we are all on the same boat. I wasn't trying to offend you." He began walking behind her. "Mai, where are you going? Do you want me to apologize for not telling you about our dead fetus? Is that it? I know you lost a sister, and I'm sorry." he was hoping she would come to her senses. He didn't understand why she was acting up so much right now. She had never been this way before.

Mai paused and balled her fists and glared at him. "A simple sorry isn't gonna cut, Nicholas." She said to him as she looked away, crossing her arms again. "I am going away from you. I do not need to be near you right now. Let me just..calm down and I'll talk to you later." Mai uncrossed her arms and walked off in the direction of her favorite coffee shop which is also next to a bakery.

Sighing, Nicholas gave up for now and went back to the graveyard. He kept on talking the tombstone as if it were Lily and said how bad he felt about making Mai feel so sad and angry. It was incredible how a good morning how gone so terribly wrong so fast. Nick went back home after an hour where he just stayed for the rest of the day to read a book and ignore the phone calls of his friends as usual that were inviting him to go out. Nick's life was really going down. So much potential being put to waste...

Mai half wanted him to come with her, convince her that she's so stupid.. But, yet again she did tell him to leave him alone. And he respected that. And the day consisted of her drinking an latte, getting a fresh panini and going to work after she was semi-okay. Mai didn't have her car, seeing how she drove with Nick. And when she was at work, she did her thing and ended it earlier than usual and gave her clients an ultimatum: come back tomorrow or she'll give a full refund. And all of them were so understanding and said they'll come back tomorrow. Mai left her work after making sure everything is fine and started to walk back to Nick's.
In the long walk, she ended calling her parents and telling them that she spent the night with Nick and went to work and she'll see them soon. It took about almost two hours and it was getting really windy and cold. She cursed under breath. She stopped and looked at her phone. No, if she calls him, it'll mean defeat. She shook her head and kept on walking.
She gave up. She called Nick. "Nick, please...please pick up." She muttered into the phone as she stopped under the lamppost.

Nick didn't pick up, but instead there was a warm feeling on her shoulders and back. It was a coat... and it smelled like Nick. It was him! "Need a ride?" he asked her as he began walking with her. Mr. Peegan had called a few minutes before (he had a special ringtone for his in-laws) telling him that Mai wasn't home yet and that she had already left work and that they were worried about her. Naturally, Nick felt responsible for this and came out to look for her. Once they got in his car, he looked at her. He had the heater on. "I'm sorry about what I said... It wasn't my place. You're not selfish at all..." he told her with half a smile.

Mai nearly kicked him in the shin. She wasn't expecting him to be there so..quickly. Or here at all. He didn't really answer his phone. Mai and him were in his car. She was looking outside the window. "No," She said, finally looking at him. "I'm sorry.. I acted like a brat... I shouldn't have." She added in. "I am selfish.. I always think about me and how Lily and I were sisters.. I also keep forgetting that she was yours also." She commented. Mai smiled brightly. She snuggled with his jacket. His scent was heavenly. But, she wouldn't dare say that aloud.
Once at his home, Mai was tired, but she didn't want to sleep. She wanted to stay up and make sure his dumb self doesn't pull another drinking fad...well, at least, not alone. Once inside, she skipped to the bar and began pouring herself a glass. "We can celebrate in her memories." She told him.

Nick sat at the couch and looked over at Mai. "You're quite a drinker. I just got over a hang over and you want us to drink again. Heh." he let out another small chuckle. He didn't mind at all that she was finally putting a use to his bar. Yesterday he had a breakdown but he wasn't one to drink as much, though he did drink more now with Lily gone. "If you don't work tomorrow you are welcome to drink and stay as long as you want." he sat down and grabbed his book ready to read.

Mai shrugged at him. "Well, I never got to do it before.. And plus, I might as well do it in a private home rather than at a public bar and make myself a target for men who want some action and my drunkard self will probably do it." She said as she finished the glass and moving onto the bottle of vodka. Mai slurred a smile. She turned on the radio, it played some hit songs that she didn't even know what it was.
Mai started to dance. And she epically failed at it. Mai wasn't one for dancing.. Well, dancing for a club. And since vodka isn't exactly beer, Mai was pretty slammed by her fourth huge gulp of vodka. She was even laughing at the way the liquid swished in the bottle after she set it down. She wobbled to Nick. "Why are you reading?" She asked, taking the book away. She hopped on him and was clearly drunk. Her vision wasn't the best at all. "You're so..." She hiccuped. Mai touched his face, feeling his skin in her hands. Mai smiled, showing her teeth. "...handsome. Why are you cute?" She asked him. Mai didn't wait for a answer. She lingered above his lips before actually kissing him. Her inner self didn't really know what she was doing but her present self was really loving this. "Nick," She said when she broke their touch. "L.. Love me, Nick." She whispered, kissing him deeply again. Her hands climbed under his shirt.

Nick sighed and placed his hand over Mai's to stop her from touching his skin and chest. Of course he liked Mai, but not in that sense. Sure, she was pretty, kind, and fun but she was the younger sister of his dead fiance. He could only see her as family. Plus, it should also be taken into consideration that she was drunk, she really wasn't aware of her words or action. Nothing at all really. "Mai... No... You're drunk..." He too had a few drinks but enough to be as drunk as Mai. If Nick drank a bit more then he probably would end up dizzy enough to lose track of his thoughts and maybe senses. Though, when she was kissing him, Nick felt an urge to kiss her back. It had already been a year since he last had sex or kissed a woman. Kissing Mai, just felt so good. Not to be confused with right. It was just his urges as a man. The alcohol was finally getting to him. He slowly began giving in to the deep kiss the woman was giving him, only to make it intensify it even more and make it quite passionate. He was a pretty amazing kisser.

When he stopped her so suddenly, Mai's inner-self was happy about this. But, her current-self wasn't too happy about this moment. Mai frowned as she touched his face again. Mai's inner-self wanted to sleep and make herself stop, but her drunken self took over and she was in control. "I-I don't care, Nicky.." She told him in a whimpering tone. She wanted to. She knew it. Mai almost tried to convince him again, but he kissed her back so furiously that Mai just gave into it. She loved this moment. She loved his lips. Mai hasn't really had a stable relationship. Mai never had enough time to have one anyway. She went to clubs and did one of those blind dates, but mainly she had sex and left them. No, not them, she left them. Mai slightly bit his lip. She also smiled. This was good.
Mai then returned to almost stripping him clean, but she stopped, remembering what he said earlier. She didn't want to do anything harsh. Mai touched his forehead with hers as she closed her eyes. "Just..Just lay with me, Nick." She said, softly, spewing out tears. [you can totes go into the next day.]
