Kotaro & Kaito Onsen!

"We, who were born in the Milky Way
Look into these eyes now, the supernova
The truth of the star fortune tellers
It’s the scenario in which we sketch our dreams"

"Happy you! Look this way
Now, Lucky you! Come here
Become enslaved
I’ll kiss you with this illuminance"

The ceremony ended just as Micha'el had expected, Lottie had enjoyed a lot of time with her friends from Hope that she hadn't seen during the break off from school, Tsuna and himself spent much of the evening casually hanging out near the punch bar, as if avoiding any of the dancing or the group of adults conversing with one another. At least they looked like they were enjoying each other's company. Later on they had a slumber party, just as Lottie had planned, not that she would have it any other way, once she plans a sleep over... you have a sleep over. No choice. Eventually himself and Lottie fell asleep, to which Tsuna helped the two of them get to their beds before she headed to her own.

The Onsen Twins, Kotaro and Kaito were walking the halls of Hope Academy during the first light of the morning, they had planned to further learn the corridors of the school so that they will never have to ask another student. How could they possibly get any respect from the students here if they didn't know their own way around? Of coarse, they felt confident they would learn the entire school's layout in just a few hours, they had excellent memory. So far, they had passed no students either, it seemed no one here got up so early. "They're all wasting the most valuable part of the day" Kotaro began, walking the corridors where open stone windows looked down the high mountain side of the school. Far, far below he could see forests, thick with tall and narrow trees. Kaito stuffed his hands in his pockets and said "but their loss is our gain, brother." Kaito always looked like the one who was scowling, and his darker shade of blue eyes added to the ominously, strangely happy glare. Kotaro however always looked genuinely more happy, but it was still an unsettling look. They both appeared to know they were in control all the time. "Found the lower staircase" Kotaro said, gesturing over his shoulder at the spiral staircase that led down to the forest below. They both came to a brief stop to observe it as Kaito responded with "we can't descend such a disgusting staircase, like animals"
"But we shan't, we will watch the others from these windows" Kotaro replied, to which the two of them smiled at each other. "We will teach this abomination of a school what it truly means to study!" Kotaro proclaimed, looking at his brothers dark blue eyes. Kaito looked back into Kotaro's lighter blue eyes and grinned, "And they will show their admiration at our feet!"

Later, the two of them were looking for the very last thing on their list, the missions board. However, when they reached it they saw the familiar red figure that was Tsuna. The two of them stopped behind her, just as she turned to see their perfectly mirrored poses. The only thing that was different between them was their eyes, hair parting, and Kotaro's admiral's shoulders compared to Kaito's plated shoulders. The two of them listened to Tsuna order them, and as she did their eyes glossed over the mission she was talking about. Kotaro grinned, looking down at the girl and said "Of coarse, your team of 3 couldn't possibly handle an A class mission." Kaito then turned his chin up at them as he said "Although your presence is disappointing, we can teach you the basics of proper fighting."

Onsen! Two stars that bloomed
In this galaxy
The moon and the sun
Miracles and mysteries
Granting all your wishes, we are stars

Tsuna Miki

The only way she could tell the two apart was the different blue shades of their eyes and the way they parted their hair. Kotaro was also heavily armored while Kaito was less adorned. Kotaro just couldn't keep his mouth shut and Kaito threw more salt into the wound trying to demean her presence. Instead of growling, Tsuna scoffed bringing the comeback ten fold. "At least we didn't take false credit for our accomplishments," she paused and eyed Kaito. "Basics? Was my punch not hard enough?" She was referring to the first time they met and how she decked them both simultaneously. "Regardless, be ready in thirty minutes." Without much else she pushed past them and headed to her teammate's quarters awaking them as passive aggressively as possible. We explained the mission to them and they agreed although she hadn't told them exactly why she wanted to partake on this adventure. She lied saying that she wanted a challenge and anything is better than wasting their time in class all day. Plus, showing the twins up and causing them misery is an added bonus. By the time she relied the news to the headmaster whom granted them permission gratefully, they were all packed and ready to go. This mission could take days or even weeks depending how difficult the plant is to locate. The headmaster had presented them with a small orb of teleportation that can only be used twice. To get to the Dead Marsh and to transport back, however, if they use the device while on the mission they'll have no choice but to find a way back on their own. Anything could happen during the mission, but it's best not to think of the alternative. Team Sun met the twins at the gates of the school as she held out the orb ready to throw it into the air to create the rift for them to step through. "Before we leave, double check that you have everything to need." Tsuna herself didn't have much as usual. The clothes on her back, her weapon, and a metal canister full of fresh cold water hanging from a strap around waist. Hopefully, Lottie and Micha'el packed diligently thinking of only survival in mind. The twins would have to fend for themselves unfortunately.

Tsuna Miki

It had taken some convincing from Lil' PK, Lumina, and Ivan to remind Tsuna she was no longer alone. The tragic events that occurred in the elven domain were over. She may have lost her father, someone she'll never be able to get back, but she still had a family by her side. Tsuna realized how blind she had become and needed to put her selfish desires aside and apologize to her teammates. Thanking her newly adoptive parents and her Lil' brother as she secretly liked to call him, she ran off to the dorms. Tsuna trekked through the rain and navigated the barren halls until she came to Micha'el's door. From the crevice, warm light leaked through and she could hear Lottie laughing on the other side. They were having one of her famous sleepovers. At the last one she was tackled down and forced into a makeover which was like pulling teeth for her. Tsuna got ready to knock, but stopped herself suddenly scared of the consequences of seeing her team again. The weight of everything that had just happened was flooding back into her mind again as she subconsciously started to back away.Micha'el...Lottie... Suddenly the door burst open and the warmth of the room hit her cold, drenched frame.

It had been a few weeks since Tsuna had returned to Hope Academy. Finally, Team Sun was together again, complete, and most importantly... ready for classes! Although Tsuna, as usual, still did not quite enjoy the vibe of studying, she certainly fit right back into sparring. The last few weeks had been great for Team Sun. They'd learned to fight together better than before, they had hung out in town, even visited Café Truesvale a few times. The own there was a wonderful gentleman who kept offering student discount. During that time, Headmaster Hope had officially announced the pairing of Hope and Merlin academy for the Christmas Ball. It created a buzz with the students of Hope, creating rumours that were whispered to each other in the corridors. In class, teachers were often giving micro-lectures on etiquette. Sparring matches had become more passionate among the established teams, who knew that soon they would have the chance to fight against other teams who specialised in science and magic. For Micha'el, Lottie and Tsuna however the most exciting part of all of this, was that they would get to see their old friend Aoi Celeste again. She had told them all that her team would also be joining her.

Today was the official start of the winter festivities. All students had been called to the main courtyard to listen to Professor Solomon Hope (Headmaster, sorry i forgot this was the cannon name i gave him a while ago) give a speech. The headmaster was the only professor to be referred to by his first name due to the fact that there had been countless Headmasters with the same surname before him. Lumina had slipped to Tsuna, who had obviously told her team, that a portal was also going to be opened today that would link the two schools together for the coming weeks. The area was crowded with students all huddled in their groups or teams, sporting their uniforms and Hope crests. On the stone platform before them the sun beat down to illuminate the area as Professor Solomon took centre stage. He was a tall character, fairly built and in somewhere between the age of 30 and 45 maybe. The students often tried to guess his age but it was difficult to really know. He had longer hair, around shoulder hair that was brushed back as if by his own hands. It fell effortlessly behind him and over his ears, giving a neat and intended look. His dark brown hair matched his brown beard, trimmed short. His face was chiselled, but on the narrower side. Masculine yet not wide or overly developed. He wore a fanciful green and gold tail-coat jacket, with a black waistcoat and trousers. He was well known for the emerald green colours he wore, and today seemed like a special occasion. The crowd suddenly fell silent as he raised a single hand. It appeared he held a powerful sway over his students. He was well known for being studious and little mysterious. "Welcome, students, to the official beginning of our winter festivities at Hope Academy. As you are all aware I have agreed with the Arch Magus Truesvale to create a joint union between our academy, and Merlin." During his speech, Ivan and Lumina could be seen standing not too far behind him alongside a couple of our professors. Lil P' could also be seen perched silently on her shoulder. "For centuries, our school had stood as a testament of unity, courage and peace. Hope Academy has continuously been a source of hope itself. Today we extend this hope to others, as always. And I expect each and every one of you to greet who I imagine to be old friends back into our walls. Today... for the very first time, a portal will be opened and maintained in this very courtyard to allow safe passage between our schools." There was an audible gasp across the courtyard. Micha'el looked to his teammates, shocked himself. "How're they gonna power that" he heard someone whisper near him, among other things. The headmaster seemed to ignore the commotion, unbothered. "Lumina... if you will. Thank you"

Professor Solomon stood to the side as Lumina took centre stage, in her hand was a palm sized arcane crystal. It glowed a first blue against her skin, almost beating with energy. Micha'el recognised this as a gift from Entei. All arcane crystals were made there, and it was rare to have them anywhere outside the Blue Guild's reach. Lumina held the crystal up to the light for a moment, and for anyone looking closely enough would noticed how two specks of blue-white light could be seen within it. It was a trait all true arcane crystals had, as if they stared back at you. Lil P' then hopped off Lumina's shoulder, rolling down across the floor before turning to face Lumina. "Time to shine, let's see what blue looks like on you" she said sweetly to her best friend. Lil P' jumped on the spot. "You got it, boss" he said. Lumina then let the crystal hover in her hand as she lowered it down towards Lil P'. She focused, peering deep within herself to try and harness the power of the arcane crystal. This was not magic she was particularly familiar with, but she had an understanding of it. Enough to know what to do. As she held it above Lil P', blue sparks reached across his body. At the same time, Lil P' opened his mouth wide in an attempt to reach up and reach it with his mouth. At that moment, an arc of blue magic reached within him and changed his flame from a warm, comforting orange, to a chilling, electric blue. There was a hum of magic in the air as the two worked together to channel the magic, and Lil P' began to grow in size. Larger and larger, bluer and brighter until Lumina was now standing, and he was matching her height. His body had stretched like a cartoon to an oval shape, his mouth open from floor to above Lumina, where her hand still channelled the crystal just outside of Lil' P's reach.

He had become a doorway, an arch of blue light. Within him darkness stirred. Lumina was using Lil' P to help channel and control the magic, using his form to contain it and give it structure. After all... Arcane Magic was meant to be controlled and calculated. Lumina then took in a breath and her expression became focused and confident. "Pumpkin" she began, her voice ethereal and deep - "Pum-Pumpkin Portal.... Open" Without another word a light flashed within Lil' P and he let out a mighty roar as the sound of reality being torn open could be heard. He pulled back as the magic came to life. His body quickly shrunk back down to size as he rolled away and the blue portal spiralled open between them. The crystal had taken its spot at the top of the portal's arch as the base connected to the floor, securing it in place. The crown fell silent in awe, this kind of magic was rare, and was not easily done. Micha'el suspected that both Lumina and Lil' P would be tired for the rest of the day. But his attention was quickly taken away from Tsuna's guardian when a familiar figure appeared through the portal. It was a tall blonde woman, adorned in sapphire and silver regalia. Alexis Truesvale. She effortlessly stepped out, shortly followed by 2 other wizards in similar attire, they were guards. She looked over the crown, smiled softly, and turned to face Lumina. She gave her a respectful bow. Micha'el couldn't help but notice that she looked tired, that her smile seemed forced. Work must be busy he thought. Alexis then tapped the base of her staff onto the floor, and with immediate effect the portal behind her fashioned a stone arch way from the platform's stone floor. The two guards behind her quickly began to work on fixing magical runes to the stonework to keep it stable.

I was painting a picture
The picture was a painting of you
And for a moment I thought you were here
But then again, it wasn't true, dah

And all this time I have been lyin'
Oh, lyin' in secret to myself
I've been putting sorrow on the farthest place on my shelf

Tsuna Miki

Once the team was whole again, they jumped right back into their curricular studies much to her dismay. It wasn't that she was a bad student, far from it, but her learning curve wasn't challenged enough. However, sparring with her team and perfecting their skills as a unit definitely put a smile back on her face. They even hung out together after school visiting Cafe Truesvale which provided students with speical discounts around this time of year. The rumors about the Christmas Ball between Hope and Merlin were confirmed true causing a joyful uproar among their peers. Although, if she heard one more person discuss what they were going to wear or whom they were going to go out with she was going to puke. The ordeal was made even more prevalent because some teachers were offering mini lectures on etiquette and Waltz dances. Honestly, she could use those classes but figured no would want to dance with her anyways. For one she was too tall, and two, her reputation as a badass was to well known by this point. At least they'd be reunited with Aoi again so the soiree could be a total bust which she wouldn't mind. Time ticked by so fast and the day for winter festivities was ready to make its debut.

Professor Solomon Hope, the Headmaster of Hope Academy, had issued all students to gather in the main courtyard for the ceremonial speech. Tsuna stood by her team among a sea of students all dressed in their school uniforms adorned with the school crest. Underneath she wore her suit in case she had to rip off the uniform for battle, but the scenario would be highly unlikely. Earlier, Lumina had shared that a portal was going to be opened today to connect the two schools, and of course she couldn't keep the juicy information from her team. Professor Solomon stepped up to the platform where a ray of sunlight was cast upon him. He appeared to be somewhere around the age of 30 to 45, but no one really knew for sure despite speculation from the students. He was a tall, regal man with dark brown shoulder length hair and a short trimmed beard to match. His chiseled facial features were masculine, but not overly wide giving him a more approachable appearance. He was recognizable by the emerald green color he wore, especially today with the fanciful green and gold tail-coat paired with a black waistcoat and pants. Raising a hand to silence the crowd, he opened with remarks of their prestigious school before going into the agreement made with the Arch Magus Truesvale. In summary, a portal will be summoned in this courtyard and remain open for the coming weeks so they'd better stay on their best behavior, or consequences, blah, blah, blah. Tsuna could hear some student's gasping wondering how or whom could conjure up such a powerful portal. In the back of the headmaster, teachers and staff members were lined up, Lumina and Ivan were in the front of the row. Tsuna smirked knowing that Lumina was going to have the honor of preforming this impossible task putting all their doubts to rest. Also, having Lil' P on Lumina shoulder proved that their combine efforts were going to stun the crowd.

Stepped forward, Lumina held a arcane crystal in her palm. It had to be a gift from Entei since those crystals rare passed the threshold of the Blue Guild. Inside the transparent gem two specks of white-blue light danced about proving its authenticity. The small pumpkin hopped off of Lumina's shoulder and rolled to the front of her as Lumina asked Lil P for his cooperation. Without hesitation, he bounced up happily before focusing on the hovering crystal above him. It floated down to his level and opening his mouth as wide as he could he absorbed its magic. His orange flames turned electric blue and he tripled in size reaching Lumina's height. His body elongated like a cartoon and his jaw dropped to the floor as the power of the crystal channeled between him and Lumina. Lil P had become a confinement chamber in a way to keep the magic contained until it could be safely released. Confidently chanting the magic spell, light spewed out of Lil P and his mighty roar shook the foundation drowning out the humming noise the magic was making earlier. The spiraling portal was constructed and Lil P was reduced quickly back to his normal travel size again. Lil P rolled away towards Ivan where he scooped him up effortlessly. She knew the two would be exhausted for the next few days and was planning to make them conformable when she gets home. Through the portal, a figure emerged. A tall blonde woman wearing sapphire and silver regalia along with two wizards at her side. This was Alexis Truesvale and her two guards. She thanked Lumina for her service with a bow and Lumina returned the gesture hiding her exasperation quiet well. Still, Tsuna worried for her well being, but it seems Ivan was already behind her supporting her gently. Alexis tapped her staff on the ground creating a stone archway and stone flooring around the portal to keep it structurally sound as well as protect the arcane crystal at the top. The two wizards carved magical runes into the stone work to add to the stabilization of the portal. Tsuna was growing impatient with all the precautions as he tapped her foot rapidly and swayed her tail back and forth. She wanted to see Aoi now not later!

Micha'el adjusted his glasses as if to get a better look at the runes on the arch around the portal. Lottie played with her own thumbs whilst exchanging an impatient glance at Tsuna. She then also glanced at Micha'el, noticing his stare but realising quickly that he was waiting for the same thing that they were... the students. "Thank you" Alexis' voice cut through the mumuring. Her voice was young... as if barely older than themselves and yet so in control. Micha'el noted there was a slight ache to her tone. But she was very, very good at hiding it. Alexis turned to Professor Solomon and they shook hands with a smile. "It is my pleasure to bring the magic of Merlin Academy to this prestigious school. Myself and my students look forward to spending time with you all and honing our skills together to better protect the world in the future."
"Yes" the headmaster replied, "now, everyone. please clear one side of the courtyard to make way for our guests. Whilst main events and festivities shall be held here, some of the Merlin students will be allowed passage to and from Entei as they wish outside of curriculum. Some teams of students will take up residents with yourselves, but alas, we cannot house everyone. Under absolutely no circumstances will any Hope students be allowed passage through the portal. Whilst powerful, and impressive" he nodded towards Alexis, "it's power is finite. It will not be wasted."

Micha'el waited eagerly, now was the time, he could see figures appearing through the portal and when the first group of students stepped through he was disappointed not to see Aoi. Several more groups appeared through the portal and it felt like a lifetime until suddenly - the moment they wanted. Outstepped Aoi Celeste, short, cute, adorned in Merlin uniform and topped with her beautiful ivory hair. At first she looked around, taking in her surroundings but quickly changing her view down towards the students. She was searching. Lottie enthusiastically waved an arm above her as she screamed "Aoi!!!!" much to the surprise of both Alexis and Solomon, who seemed unbothered, and almost grinned. Aoi quickly noticed the team and turned around, patting the rest of her team on the back to point towards Team Sun as the group began to descend some steps and make their way to their side of the courtyard. Micha'el itched to move over to them but knew that right now they had to remain on their own sides of the space. Soon, he thought.

There was suddenly a gasp across some of the students as some more students appeared from the portal. This time it was 3 in particular. The Onsen twins... followed by someone else Team Sun hadn't seen before. The twins emerged in their matching uniform. One of them with his signature pouldron on one shoulder, the other with his signature navy-style shoulder padding. They waved to the other students, recognising their fame as top students. Close behind them was JayBird, a recent addition to their team of which Team Sun had no prior knowledge. The twins seemed to pay him little attention. "Who's that?" Lottie said to Tsuna, nudging her on the arm. "He looks a little... in awe of them? MAN, what is wrong with these people and their fascination with those two". Tsuna couldn't help but let out a grumble as she crossed her arms angrily.

Tsuna Miki

The impertinence for Aoi arrival was eating them alive as Alexis ended her speech. Her voice was strong and confident, but somewhere within her tone there was a slight melancholy detected. Although, she hid it so well as she departed gracefully from the platform. After Alexis and Solomon shook hands and declared the supreme alliance, he asked that all students move to the side of the courtyard to make way for the Merlin students. He made it clear that not all Merlin students could reside with them so they were allowed to travel back and forth from Entei as they pleased. However, Hope students were "FORBIDDEN" to enter the portal under any circumstances because the power should not be wasted. Tsuna rolled her eyes at this statement, because if she's learned anything, nothing is off limits to her. Once everything was set in motion, the Merlin students began emerging from the portal in groups. It felt like the seconds were turning into hours until the joyous moment when beautiful, courageous Aoi Celeste appeared. She must have gotten cuter over night or maybe the school girl look suited her far to well. Lottie screamed across the courtyard waving her hands like a lunatic causing Tsuna to smirk delightfully. Aoi got the attention of her own team pointing out Team Sun in the crowd happily as they descended the steps. They lined up on the other side of the courtyard making the distance between the two schools feel like a chasm.

Suddenly gasps and admiral cheers expelled from the students as the Onsen Twins stepped through the portal along with a follower. Tsuna grumbled frustrated by their egocentric appearance, although the new addition was surprising. Lottie nudged her for information on the new guy, but all she could do was make an educated guess. "Everyone entered in groups so he must be their new teammate. Poor guy, he must be dimwitted to be easy fooled by their false charm." She didn't want to speak to harshly of their new teammate because for all she knew he could just be an innocent victim. His shy posture didn't match the twins overflowing narcissism.

JayBird followed closely behind his teammates leaving Entei behind for the first time in his life. He felt like he didn't have the right to speak out of turn after the horrible first impression he made. He was told he'd be paired with the twins as soon as possible for the Christmas Festivities since they didn't have a partner and all groups had to be paired in threes. JayBird was briefed on their accomplishments, especially in Otherearth defending the elven nations from the Vardents. Their unison in combat as well as appearance inspired him to prefect his own powers. Sadly, he was so nervous when he made the introduction that he accident shocked Kotaro which scared Kaito whom accidently dropped all his books he was carrying. JayBird apologized immensely and used his gravity magic to recollect his books for him. He then attempted to win their favor by congratulating them in all their efforts. They accepted him reluctantly, but he wouldn't give up hoping that they'd eventually see him as their friend. The only friend he had was Featherine, his pet owl, but he was forced to send her back home in order to attend this event. Without her on his shoulder it felt like a part of him was missing which made him sink deeper into his shyness. As the students waved and cheered for the twins, he hid his eyes behind his bangs stared down at the ground. His face was beat red from embarrassment and although the students weren't cheering for him, just being out among this many people was overwhelming.

It hadn't occured to Lottie that the Onsen twins might have a new teammate, but Tsuna had to be correct going off first impressions. "He looks so nervous..." Lottie pondered for a short moment before turning her attention back towards Aoi's team. This will be the first time they get to meet each other, a prospect that was tantalising her greatly.

Kotaro's blue eyes looked out into the crowd before him as the 3 of them descended the steps towards the empty space in the courtyard. He forced a smile as he waved at some of the Hope academy students waving towards his direction. "I forgot how basic the students here can be..." Kotaro said quietly enough so only his team could hear. Kaito's red eyes looked over at his brother, and then to JayBird hiding behind them as he said "well at least they appreciate true talent. We shall have to uphold Merlin's great prestige whilst here."
"Don't make us look weak in the sparring matches, JayBird" Kotaro said over his shoulder towards their teammate, blue eyes staring him down.

It had seemed like all the students had finished coming through the portal. The stage was clear of anyone except the Hope teachers, Alexis and her two guards, as well as a couple of other Merlin teachers. Micha'el could see Alexis and Solomon speaking to each other about something, with some stern looks behind exchanged. "Guys, look" Lottie then said to her team, she gestured up towards the portal as another figure appeared behind its veil. It was feminine, and surrounded by a golden hue, as if sunrise surrounded her. When she stepped through and out into the stage Micha'el noted this was an elf-lady... no, half-elf. She had auburn hair and pale skin. She wore elegant attire consisting of emerald green, blood red and cream. Micha'el noted a riding crop hanging from her belt. Over her chest was a very beautiful, cyan crystal shaped into a flower.

Solomon cleared his throat to get the attention of the students once more, with Alexis moving back to meet the other teachers as the newcomer politely stood beside Solomon. "Everyone, I would like to introduce a guest tutor for sparring matches during the next few weeks. Please welcome Maverly Asche, of the Asche Agricultural Estate in Shard. Her practical fighting ability and prowess in her own unique magic will be of great help during training."

Tsuna Miki

JayBird was so focused on the ground that Kotaro's comment broke his concentration. He looked up slightly tilting his head confused because a lot of the Hope students looked unique to him. However, he was the newbie in this situation and perhaps the students really were basic just like he stated. Kaito's red eyes stared down at JayBird as he "complimented" the crowd and assured him that they had to uphold Merlin Academy's prestige. Kotaro then warned JayBird not to screw up in the matches causing him to flinch nervously. "I-I promise I won't let you down." He stammered hoping that he could keep his word.

After all the students had passed through and the stage was cleared of the staff, another figure was appearing though the portal. Lottie excitingly got their attention as a feminine physique with a golden hue surrounding her stepped onto the stage. She was half elf with auburn hair and a pale complexation. She wore an emerald green, blood red, and cream outfit and at her side was a riding crop. Was it for intimidation or did she actually instruct people with that thing? A cyan crystal shaped like a flower bloomed over her chest as she stood poised waiting for an introduction. Solomon stepped forwarded and informed everyone that this is Maverly Asche, of the Asche Agricultural Estate in Shade. She's the tutor for the sparring matches and could assist in training due to her fighting abilities and prowess in unique magic. Tsuna looked at her curiously making a mental note to meet with her later. Now that everyone has been introduced was it finally time to reunite? Tsuna lightly held out her arms hoping Aoi would run right into them without a second thought. She and Lottie were like the sisters Tsuna never had so she was prepared to lavish them with as much affection as possible.

I just wanted you to be my brother...
▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▒▒Micha'el Maues▒▒▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄

I was listenin' to the ocean
I saw a face in the sand
But when I picked it up
Then it vanished away from my hands, dah

I had a dream, I was seven
Climbin' my way in a tree
I saw a piece of Heaven
Waitin' in patience for me, dah

But no, take me home
Take me home where I belong

But I kept runnin' for a soft place to fall
And I kept runnin' for a soft place to fall

After a few more formalities and a unifying speech by Professor Solomon, the announcements were finally finished and the students were allowed to mingle among themselves. The very moment Solomon turned his back and made his way to the other tutors the courtyard became abuzz. Energy zapped across the large open space, the light breeze rushing through became warm, as though winter were no longer here. Tsuna let out a little squeal as she began to make way towards Aoi and her team. Micha'el and Tsuna shortly followed whilst Aoi mirrored them. At long last, the two teams united in the centre of the courtyard, ignoring the chatter of other students around them now mixing together in a slurry of colours.

"AOI!" Lottie shouted, launching herself at the blonde, taking her into a tight embrace which was quickly returned. Lottie relaxed into Aoi's shoulder easier, and it seemed Aoi loosed her guard completely too. Micha'el came to a stop beside her and Tsuna. He made eye contact with Aoi's team. Feeling slightly awkward, Micha'el pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose with his finger without thinking. He then gave a small wave and a smile, catching the eye of a girl with silver hair and eyes the colour of daffodils. "Carmelia" she said, holding out her hand to him. She wore a carmine red coat and a pale lilac turtleneck, matched with a double belt around her black trousers. She gave off a distinct 'French' vibe. Micha'el extended his hand to her and held firmly. "Micha'el" he said, smiling again. The other two boys in Aoi's team looked between each other and at Tsuna. One had long black hair in a ponytail, with eyes the colour of sunset. He wore a black tunic with white trousers. He seemed to fidget on the spot whilst the other gentleman took a step forwards. He had medium-short, messy coral hair with confident yet tired looking brown eyes. He was the most casually dressed of the team, wearing a pale blue shirt under an open black waistcoat, paired with blue jeans. "Hey, Tsuna, right? I'm Sagiso, and this" he gestured with his thumb over his shoulder, "is Kuroyori". Kuroyori gave a small wave and Sagiso offered his hand to shake Tsuna's hand.

"It's so good to finally meet your team!" Lottie said, pulling away from Aoi as the two grinned widely. "I'm sorry it's taken so long! But the festival is the perfect time!" Carmelia tapped the small girl on the back, "she's been going on about it for weeks as if she owes this meeting to everyone." Carmelia nodded to Tsuna, then looked across Team Sun, "she's an overthinker."
"Carmelia!" Aoi protested, followed by a laugh from her team. The boys then greeted each other, exchanging names as they had done with Tsuna just before.

Tsuna Miki

The groups were able to converge and it was like the cold air of winter had been negated by a summer breeze. Lottie squeaked in join as she scurried across the courtyard like a mouse seeking out cheese. Micha'el and Tsuna approached not far behind as Lottie embraced Aoi beating Tsuna to the punch of hugging her first. Lottie had always been far more affectionate than her, but sometime Tsuna let her sensitive side shine. Aoi looked so confrontable in her arms making Tsuna a little jealous wondering if she could be as loving as Lottie one day. Micha'el always knew how to make a good impression as he adjusted his glasses slightly. With a charismatic smile and gentle wave he had won the girl named, Carmelia over. She had beautiful silver hair and daffodil colored eyes. She wore a lilac turtleneck with a carmine red coat along with matching double belts around the waist of her black pants. The shook hands as if they were old friends which also made Tsuna a bit envious considering he could make acquaintances so easily. Back in the day, she would have let her arrogance do the talking, but she knew that wasn't the way to win people's favor.

Suddenly, Tsuna's ears lowered unsure of the two male teammates making eye contact with her. She wasn't smooth like Micha'el or inflectionally cute like Lottie so she wasn't confident in how to greet them. The boy with the long black hair and eyes the color of sunset seemed just as cautious as her as he fidgeted in his spot. He wore a black tunic and white trousers while his partner, a more eager man, stepped forward. Out of the three, he was dressed the most casual with a pale blue tshirt, an open black waistcoat, and blue jeans. She could see his tired, yet alert brown eye under his short and messy coral colored hair. He knew who she was immediately, probably from Aoi's descriptions of her. Honestly, dog ears and a tail would be hard to miss on someone. He introduced himself as Sagiso and gestured to the boy behind him calling him Kuroyori. Kuroyori sheepishly waved which Tsuna returned the formality before Sagiso stuck out his hand to her. She relaxingly grabbed it hoping she wasn't squeezing to hard before choking out a small, "Hello." She didn't know what to say after that lackluster introduction and pulled away moving closer to Micha'el obviously a bit embarrassed.

Lottie was the most excited to meet everyone and Aoi voiced how she wanted everyone to meet sooner once the two girl's parted. Carmelia revealed to everyone that Aoi had been agonizing over the delayed reunion weeks prior to the festival. Aoi protected and everyone laughed in unison practically erasing the attention as the finished up greeting one another.

JayBird stayed behind the twins as long as he could before the two schools became one making him overwhelmed. He had never been squished between so many people before and the crowd of admires around the twins only grew. JayBird slipped back further and further until he had lost sight of his teammates among the students completely. He took shelter next to a birdbath that was towards the edge of the courtyard while a majority of the students clustered in the middle. Catching his breath, he exhaled shakily and decided to remain there until the twins were done. He put his head down in shame burring his hands deep into his pockets.

"Nice hammer you got there" Sagiso began, stepping closer to inspect Tsuna's weapon. "Wow, this thing must pack a punch?" he said, leaning closer towards it to gain a better look at the details. "You should see her swing it" Aoi chimed in, stepping beside Tsuna, "just don't make her mad or nothing is safe" Aoi said as matter-of-fact. Even Micha'el couldn't tell if she was joking or if that was a legitimate warning to Aoi's team. "I'm more interested in this" Carmelia said, gesturing down to Micha'el's book that hung neatly at his side. Whilst Aoi, Tsuna, and Sagiso admired Tsuna's weapon, she and Micha'el began their own discussion. "I've heard a lot from Aoi about your magic... it's nothing like the arcane magic we study at Merlin, is it?"
"N-no" he said, taken aback slightly. "It's... closer to the inert magic of the Divine. It's seraphic in nature, I think."
"You're not sure?" Carmelia replied with an inquisitively raised brow. Micha'el lifted the heavy book, the heavy book that felt so light in his hands. The winter light reflected off it's silver edged pages, and gleamed across its white leather cover. "It's called the Aria" Micha'el waved a hand over the book as it's pages opened, letting some golden light escape as it swirled into a ball of pure white light. "You command it almost like our magi"
"I studied arcane magic when I was a kid... before" Micha'el decided to stop there, not wanting to explain he had to move cities thanks to his now non-existent brother.

"Lumina, Ivan" Professor Solomon said, walking towards the two of them at the back of the stage. Maverly followed behind as he said "please let me introduce Maverly Asche. As you can tell... she is of no real relation to Miss Truesvale's institution."
"Though I am more than magically inclined" Maverly interjected. The half-elf offered a hand to both Ivan and Lumina one at a time. Her eyes seemed to glance over Lil' P, but she paid him no attention. Alexis then joined the group and simply nodded to them with respect. "Why do I sense there is more going on here than meets the eye?" Lumina asked, placing a hand on her hip. "Please" Solomon began, "follow me to my tower and we five can discuss some matters."

"Your glaive reeks over the long dead" Kyuroyuri quietly muttered as he appeared behind Lottie. She turned to face him, squinting. "That is a cruel thing to say" Lottie pulled out her glaive, balancing it between her two hands. "Where are you weapons anyway. None of you are holding any" Lottie asked politely. "Carmelia has them, magically sealed and safe."

Tsuna Miki

Sagiso became rather infatuated with her hammer as he wondered about the strength of the weapon. Aoi chimed in confirming her powerful swings especially when her anger arises. She almost felt embarrassed that her anger overshadowed her performance in battle, but knew Aoi was trying to make it into a positive comment. Tsuna removed the hammer from her back and extended the handle showing off the gun barrel attachment. She also transformed the hammer head into an axe head to prove how versatile her weapon could be. Meanwhile, Carmelia was asking about Micha'el's book and what kind of magic he obtains. According to him its not arcane like Merlin's magic, but seraphic which even he himself was unsure. Taking out his Aria, he waved his hand over the white leather cover making it open effortlessly. The silver lined pages flickered from the white orb of golden light that had escaped from the book hovering over it. He compared it to commanding magi and said he had studied arcane magic as a child. However, he stopped mid-sentence and from the corner of her eye she could see something pledging his mind. In order to keep the conversation light Tsuna interrupted, "Hey Carmeila, want to see me shot this thing off in the courtyard? It'll be cool!" She smirked as she flipped her hammer around aiming the cannon towards the sky. She wasn't going to do it of course, but it would Micha'el time to recover. The quiet one, Kyuroyuri finally spoke and when he did he said something insulting about Lottie's glaives. Lottie called him out and tried to ask about their weapons since none of them had revealed them. Kyuroyuri mentioned that Carmelia had sealed them away for safety which makes since as to why they were so interested in Team Sun's arsenal. Maybe they couldn't wield their weapons freely due to school policy or something that's why they were so critical of theirs? Regardless, before the conversation went to far Tsuna made a suggestion, "Why don't we walk around the campus and give you guys a tour? Blow off some boredom before the big event?"

Ivan stood next to Lumina at the back of the stage fighting off the urge to light a cigarette. He was never interested in formal affairs, but had to attend as a mentor much to his dismay. He tugged at the suit Lumina had picked out for him when Solomon made his way over to them along with the half-elf Maverly Ashe. He introduced her and she held out her delicate hands for each of them to take. Ivan smiled and took her hand as politely as he could manage see her eyes gaze at Lil P which probably didn't look like much to her. Alexis jointed their little group causing Lumina to become suspicious of their intentions. She was right because Solomon immediately wanted to move their "meeting" into the tower to discuss business. Ivan dropped the smile and became serious giving a glance to Lumina as they followed Solomon inside.

Tsuna Miki

It's been a few days now since Ivan has fallen ill and Lumina refuses to tell her what's really going on. She wanted Tsuna to focus on the tournaments, but the redhead could care less about these silly fights. Team Sun ended up winning, especially against Aoi's team of four which was no easy feat, but none of this brought her joy. She was tired of being lied too, and knew something was out of the ordinary around here. Still, all the teachers and staff covered things over with the Winter Ball ahead. Out of spite and fear that Tsuna may do something drastic again, Lumina forced Tsuna to attend literally pushing her out the door. When the door to the only home she had known slammed in her face Tsuna wanted to scream and bang against it. As she raised her fist, she could only manage to pat it softly against the wood lingering their momentarily. Why? She's not a child, not anymore. Ivan was unnaturally sick and she could tell from his demeanor as he became more aggressive and slept restlessly throughout the day. The turn in his behavior made Lumina worrisome and Tsuna's consistent pestering didn't help. For the first time, she actually felt a mother and daughter bond when they fought. However, Tsuna was about to severe those family bond considering her plan to leave the school in search of answers. If no one was going to tell her anything then she'd find the solution herself. "Goodbye. Mom...Dad..." She whispered to herself realizing that that was the first time she referred to them as her parents rather than guardians.

Turning away she walked towards the center of the school near the auditorium where the ball was being held. For her, this would be the last time she participates in any school activates. She stood out in the snow staring up at the massive clocktower as snow rained down around her. Her dress was pure white blending in with the fresh blanket of the first winter snow fall. The bodice was a sweetheart shape that fit her slender frame like a glove. The skirt was slit at the leg and flailed out, but had little volume. Her heels were bright red matching her hair that was tied into a ponytail. White ribbon sat at the top of the ponytail in a bow and the curled around her hair. She wore a little bit of blush, but mostly let her natural beauty show. She was a far cry from the innocent yellow dress and kitten heels she wore to the first ball that was hosted here.

Breaking her gaze, she stepped into the crowded ballroom instantly spotting some of her teammates. The twins already had women and men flocking to them left and right. JayBird even got some attention despite his shy nature, his charming smile was compelling and drew people in. Aoi's team was dressed to impress and they were already dancing with one another gracefully. Of course, as plain as day on the dance floor, Lottie was already swaying around with Micha'el. The two of them looked so elegant together that she didn't want to interrupt them. She wasn't much of a dancer so sitting back on observing was more of her style. Still, she'd rather dance terribly and take her mind off Ivan and all her consuming thoughts.

Micha'el was surprised to admit that he was enjoying himself at the winter ball. The great hall was painted a delicate champagne, with great banners of emerald green draping down the tall, pillared walls to accompany the towering glass windows. Headmaster Solomon always added his own touch, but also paired it off with darker forest green borders and upholstery accents, with golden cutlery and crockery and guava pink roses dotted across each table. Similar plants adorned the hall in it's empty spaces, creating a sense of exploration as you moved through it, as if the hall existed outside like pristine ruins. Music played in the background and everyone appeared to be having a good time. As the two enjoyed themselves Tsuna was approached by Solomon, who sat beside her without a sound, mug in hand. It wasn't until his cane touched edge of his seat that he made his presence known. "You know" he began, watching his students dance in the centre of the hall, "I've never been one to dance myself. I have been known to have two left feet." Solomon appeared jovial, yet had that familiar, sternness about him that couldn't quite be placed. Solomon looked slightly to the side, beyond the dance floor where many other students were gathering around the twins and JayBird. "Or... I would hazard a guess that you could be avoiding all that commotion. It's been some time since I have witnessed students become idolised as they have... Lottie's sister created quite the stir." Solomon was recognising the fact that Lily would be performing shortly for the ball, a strong he managed to pull as her former headmaster - and maybe Lottie had some role in begging him to have her here too. But Solomon didn't have to reveal his soft spot for his students.
