She smiled at the two stallions, Jericho and Chandler. Now that she could see they were not so scary or foreboding she grinned again. "Nice to meet you!" she said, nodding at them and gazing at Chaser again. She held back a giggle at his proudly puffed chest. She could tell his family had a long and complex history, something she could respect having come from a rather large herd herself. She flapped her wings thoughtlessly so as to hover in the air, feeling more comfortable now that she was pretty sure she wouldn't be turned away. "Oh! And this is Flint," she said, turning and looking around for him, "Come on Flint, don't embarrass me!" She couldn't find him. He was probably buried somewhere in her mane, she knew he hated introductions. She huffed and turned back to the stallions, shrugging. "Well, he's here somewhere. He's a hummingbird!" She smiled, indicating towards the hummingbird marking on her chest.

Flint sulked in her mane, refusing to come out. He merely grunted to acknowledge his presence, waiting for things to progress. He wondered how long they would be here, he was sure this was more than a day trip for Fall.

"Nice to meet you, Falling Rock," Jericho said politely, with a warm smile and nod of his head. "And Flint, where ever you are." He backed up a few flaps, giving them room to feel comfortable. Nothing seemed amiss here, and she seemed nice enough. He looked back over to Stormchaser and gave him an encouraging smile. He suspected he may be smitten with this lovely mare, a feeling he remembered quite well.

He had felt that way once, but that was that was five children ago.

Chandler, still taking on the role of 'patrol guard' gave a nod to Stormchaser. "Ma'am" he said, acknowledging the winged mare. "Very well, I hope you journey was well," he said to Stormchaser. He regarded the look that was going on between them, and the smile on his older brother's face. A frown tugged at his mouth; he was much older than this prince, but he had yet to be lucky finding a mare to return his affections.

Of course, that could have been because he had blinders on for a certain Angeni mare in the herd.

"Are you taking her to meet your parents?" he asked. Regardless of Chaser's intentions with the lovely filly, it would be wise to show any newcomer to the Alphas.

"Yes, I am!" he answered to Chandler.

He chucked when Flit refused to to come out and introduce himself. "He doesn't like me very much, it seems," he added.

Through the strands in Fall's hair, Flint could see the expressions of the stallions as they looked at the two young Soquili before them. Their expressions shared his feelings on the matter. Jericho's grin of encouragement, and Chandler's frown of skepticism were both accurate descriptions of Flint's feelings. His worst and best fears had been confirmed. Fall was obviously showing signs of having some sort of feelings for this stallion. Perhaps it was because he was so like her and his family seemed so much like home to her. He sighed again, giving up on the matter. There was nothing he could do but hope it would pass. They had only just met after all.

Falling Rock smiled. "Of course he likes you, Flint is just shy," she laughed. She knew Flint didn't approve of her new friend, but he would come around eventually. For now, he would just have to get over himself. Chaser was a very nice stallion and it was completely obvious that he didn't have any bad intentions. She didn't notice the expressions of the other stallions whatsoever, she was too excited to be here and to be doing something besides hiding in a bush.

"Have a nice stay," Jericho said to them as he looked back towards his younger brother. "We should get back to patrolling. Everything seems good here."

Chandler nodded with Jericho. "Indeed, carry on. Nice to meet you, Falling Rock. Enjoy your stay!" With that he took higher into the skies, continuing his patrolling duty.

"See? That wasn't so bad, was it?" he asked, trying to make light of their miniature interrogation. "Just a bit further, my mom and dad are usually around this side of the mountain."

He continued on, keeping his eyes peeled on the rocky mountainside for parents.

As the pair flew deeper into the herdlands, past the border patrol, the jagged mountain cliffs dropped away to reveal a sprawling alpine meadow. Between the peaks was a high altitude grazing lands, partially hidden by cloud cover, winding passages, and of course the surrounding summits. Dozens of soquili could be seen in the area, grazing, playing, resting, or flying. Every single one of them bore wings of a fashion; most of them with the feathered wind or angeni wings, but a few flutters or flutter mixes could be seen.

Their arrival, however, did not escape the attention of Balrog, who had been wary of all arrivals since the last attack on the herd. It had been some time now since the skinwalker had dared rear her head in his herdlands, but Balrog had nightmares some times of letting down his guard and relaxing only to have that be the day that things fell to pieces.

HE spread his wings and kicked off the ground, making his way to personally access the new arrivals.

ONe of them, he immediatley recognized, his son, Stormchaser, but with him, an unfamiliar wind mare. He did his best to put on his typical gruff exterior - not a hard feat for the old stallion, but inwardly he smiled. It was hard to believe that Stormchaser and the other foals had grown so fast... already out meeting mares....
And certainly, Stormchaser didn't seem like he was in any kind of distress or being forced to lead her in. He didn't perceive any threat.

"Who do we have here?" His voice boomed to the pair as he angled his flight, leading them to a grassy patch of land where they could more easily talk.

Fall was pleased to see so many around the herd's territories. She had been correct in her thinking that this family was huge. It was bigger even than her homelands. She felt a pang of homesickness, something she hadn't felt since her journey from home.

But she came back to earth at the sight of the approaching alpha, Stormchaser's father. At first Balrog's stern face reminded Falling Rock so much of her father that she half thought of turning tail and flying away. She heard Flint gasp somewhere near her ear. But after a closer inspection she could see that he was of course not her father, and she even felt a little comforted by the deep rumble of his voice as he called to them.

"My name is Falling Rock," she said as they touched down upon the ground. Manners were not something she was known for, but for once she wondered if she should have kept quiet to let Stormchaser introduce her. Pretending she hadn't noticed her blunder, she smiled eagerly at the alpha of the herd. "You have a beautiful family," she said, stealing a glance at Chaser out of the corner of her eye and then looking back at Balrog.

"Father!" he called to him, unable to keep the smile off his face. "Father, this is -" but she had already introduced herself. He chucked to himself and nodded. "And Falling Rock, this is my father Balrog. He is the leader of mt herd," he said proudly.

Looking back his father, "We met down in the meadow. She's named after a great force of nature, and of course, look at her beautiful wings!" That last part slipped out before he really knew what he was saying, and he felt a blush sting the pink of his ears. "I thought she may like it here, so I wanted her to at least have the chance to see it and meet you."

Balrog was having a hard time maintaining his stony facade after he landed and seeing the lovely wind mare introduce herself politely, and his son virtually tripping over himself with pride.
Stormchaser was growing so quickly, but still barely into stallionhood. He harldly ever employed the word 'cute', but it seemed appropriate here.

He cleared his throat and regarded Falling Rock with a scrutizing eye. "Thank you, my dear." He rumbled, tail swishing behind him. "We have established ourselves here and been steadily growing for years. We allow only those gifted by the spirits of the wind to live here, those that are strong, capable stallions and mares. We look after our own, but each of us is competent to defend ourselves or each other."

"Tell me of yourself, Falling Rock. Of your family? Do they all possess wings such as yourself? DO you have a herd...?"

Fall smiled at Chaser's comment and spread her wings proudly for the alpha to see. Or maybe it was so that Chaser would look at them and call her beautiful again in some way...at that thought she lowered them and focused on what the alpha was saying.

She should have known there would be more questions about her herd. But this time it was a little easier to talk about, she felt at home here and she had already spoken about her parents with Stormchaser. For so long she had been silent about her homelands and silent about her family, but now it felt good to talk about it. Even if it made her homesick, she felt better getting the information out.

"Your herd reminds me of my own, Balrog...sir," she added with a slight blush, "where I come from most of us have wings so that we can reach the sacred rock at the top of the mountain...well, now it's a rockslide, the one I was found in." She looked at Chaser, she had already told him about this and didn't want to think about her mother and father again no matter how comfortable she was telling them about her herd.

"Well, anyway, the sacred rock survived somewhat. I was taken in by the herd, they think I'm a miracle. But I wanted to see the world...And now I'm here!" she grinned excitedly. She knew her story had holes and she could tell by Balrog's skeptical face that it would not be all too believable or exciting, but that was as much talking as she was comfortable with for now. A little was good, any more and that would be too much.

Chaser listened and stayed relatively quiet, letting Falling Rock and Balrog have their conversion. But his head was held high and his chest puffed out the whole time; not only proud to show Falling Rock the herd he was so proud of, but also of the mare he had brought back to show his father.

Balrog nodded sagely, not seeming ruffled by her description of her family, or seeing any need to press about the circumstances of her discovery. Mostly winged was.... all right... perhaps not as highly regarded as a more selective herd, but at least when Balrog had established himself in the kawani lands, those soquili blessed with wings were uncommon at best. It made his heart soar that their numbers had been on the rise. Of course... if that were the case, he would think that other winged soquili could afford to be choosier, but not all of them seemed to possess his foresight.

HIs ears canted forward. "And what brings you to our territory? Or... what are you looking for on your travels? Are you looking fora new home, perhaps? A new herd in these lands... or are you still seeking something?

Sabin's Teepee

A peal of thunder echoed across the valley as the sky began to darken. Thunderstorms often formed quickly over these mountains, frequently without warning. And already, a few fat droplets began to fall in the valley.

A flash of purple, white, and red feathers overhead and the flurried flutter of wings signified the arrival of another curious arrival.

Thunderbird caught the sign of a new soquili in the territory, from where he had been grazing. He hadn't been assigned to patrol today, and poking his nose into Stormchaser's business seemed like an amusing diversion.

"heeey hey hey, little brother? Who is this?" He grinned as he set down, stretching his four wings before folding them at his sides.

Falling Rock smiled politely at Chaser and his father. "I was hoping I could visit and get to know--" her sentence was stopped at the arrival of another large stallion carrying giant wings on his back. Though she had a pair of her own, she still found herself staring at the large wings these boys had. She listened as the other called Chaser 'brother' and assumed he must be his older brother. This time she decided it would be a good idea to let Stormchaser introduce her. She continue to smile, excited to be a source of curiosity for the inhabitants of Chaser's herd.

Flint buzzed cautiously in Fall's mane, ready to pop out and fight if these large stallions decided this was a good chance to attack. She had given a lot of information about herself already, something he constantly encouraged her not to do. The stallions seemed friendly enough, but what if they caught on that she was running from home and decided to return her? That wouldn't be pretty.

Chaser through a look over to Falling Rock when Thunderbird showed up, watching her stare at his double-set of Angeni wings and feeling a surprising pang of jealousy rise in his throat. "This is my friend, Falling Rock," he said when asked. "She's come just a visit - we met down in the meadow."

He turned his face to his companion. "Falling Rock, this is my older brother, Thunderbird."

Balrog nodded, "You are welcome to take a tour with my son..." he looked up at Thunderbird's arrival, "..sons... escort if you wish. We also consider the addition of new soquili who bear the blessings of the wind spirits if you are seeking a new home." Balrog stated simply. "I do not know if you are simply wishing to pass through, however. But if you have a question that my sons cannot answer for you, you may seek my council."

He looked up as fat droplets of rain began to fall. "You may, after all, be stuck here until the storm clears unless you are truly an expert flier." He smiled, a hint of a challenge, before spreading his own wings and kicking off in demonstration, heading back over to rejoin his mate.

Thunderbird nodded to his father as he departed, with no sign of dissappointment being left with Stormchaser and his lady friend. He wasn't exatly looking to court mares - he had met the mate of his life in the form of Stormcloud. But that didn't mean that the young stallion couldn't have a little bit of fun with his baby brother.

Thunderbird tossed his long maine with a grin, nudging Stormchaser with a wing and a wink.
"Falling Rock, hmm?" He smiled, dipping his head. "Nice to meet you. We don't see a lot of new faces around here, not often enough, at least. I try to get out... I go on patrols and sometimes you see new faces that way, but they are not always friendly ones. Stormchaser here, well, he has just started going on patrols pretty recently. So I still have to show him the ropes sometimes." He grinned.

Fall's wings twitched at Balrog's hint of a challenge. She resisted the urge to prove herself only when she felt Flint's sharp beak giving her a warning poke. "Thank you, sir," she said politely to the alpha and watched him go. She felt something funny in the pit of her stomach when she heard Chaser use the word "friend" as if the word was not satisfactory to her. But she was distracted from this thought by the introduction of his older brother.

"Hello, Thunderbird. It's nice to meet you as well," she said with a nod of her head. She turned to Chaser with a curious face. "He seems to be doing a good job to me," she grinned as well, her eyes sparkling as she looked at Stormchaser and then returning her gaze to Thunderbird.

"So, what do you guys do for fun around here?" she asked excitedly. If she was going to stay here for a while, they might as well have some fun. After all, she was on vacation from running. It was time to enjoy herself a little. She looked hopefully at the brothers, flicking her mane back and revealing Flint for a split second. She knew he would likely disapprove of anything fun they suggested, but she would have it her way.

Flint had decided this place would be safe enough. At least it would be safer than Fall trying to fly in this weather, or continuing to run and hide without resting. He wondered how long she would be able to stand staying in one place for too long, but perhaps all these handsome stallions would perk her interest enough to stay. He contemplated Balrog's invitation to join the herd and wondered if Fall had even understood what that meant. If she stayed here, she was giving in to the thing that she ran from. Perhaps that would be good for her...Perhaps he should try to encourage her to stay. But he decided it would have to be her choice. She would have to grow up on her own, without his interference.
