When Krissy woke to find everything different, she wasn't particularly surprised. She was surrounded by people who'd had the same thing happen to them, at least five of them, most of the time. They'd told her how they'd grown, how they'd changed; even Timmy had, once she'd asked him. He'd told her about how he had used to be a pet for an old woman, and had been until she'd died. He'd found a star soon after that and took off into the forest in search of food.

Krissy wouldn't have to take off, though. She wouldn't have to go hungry, she wouldn't have to be alone. It was nice, having something so constant when everything else seemed to be changing. "This is weird," she muttered. They'd warned her about stars, but had she listened? Had she? No.

Actually, some part of her wanted to grow. To be bigger, to be more help around the house. Dea's kids, they all helped, and they all took care of her. They made her happy, they took care of her, they made sure she had enough rest. She wanted to do that too, and not just for Dea. For her Daddy, too. He'd been through a rough patch last year, and she hadn't been able to help much. She hadn't really understood much of it, except that he'd been unhappy. She wanted to make sure he was happy, like Dea was.

And maybe she'd be able to play with Tristan and Fluff now, too! She'd always felt like more of a homebody; she couldn't really go outside without someone watching her, could she? Not without someone worrying. She was big enough now to play, wasn't she?
