"Speaking of accusing people randomly and causing bad feelings, maybe you'd like to stop pointing fingers now." Kelina said, quirking an eyebrow. Her voice wasnt angry, but more exhasperated than anything. Seemed someone needed to listen to his own advice. "I'm all for groups, but they should be at least with 3 people. 2 people would be too dangerous. The larger the group, the safer it is."

Nyiim waved his hands in front of him and shook his head.

"Both of you, hold on. Why would we split up at all?" he asked, brows furrowed still, "Two people are much less likely to be able to fend off a killer than five. If we all stick together, it's doubtful that anyone can make another move." Young, yes. Lacking in experience, also yes. However, logic had gotten Nyiim through his young life. He didn't like the idea of traveling the woods with a potential killer any more than he liked potentially leaving children to them. It seemed beyond the scope of evil to take down a child, but who knew?

"I think you're on to something," he said then, pointing to Shirin, whose name he didn't know. "Who ever the killer is, we caught them so soon after the crime, they must be... worked-up." To check his point, Nyiim's eyes ticked over each mouth and throat. Everyone had a little adrenaline in them, it seemed. That was fine. The innocent would calm with time. "If we watch and listen, they're likely to mess up. We have to pay attention to what is unsaid as well as what is said. What is not done as well as what is done. I'd say that we should view the body once more, but clearly who ever killed that woman is not too concerned with murder, and could easily fake a response, no? I say we stay right here and just... pay attention."

"It's true that splitting up will help us cover more ground, which would increase our chances of finding out more about the killer," Shirin said slowly, her head tilting as she considered the two shifters' suggestion. "But if one group finds a clue or even the killer along the way, it would be hard to communicate the news to everyone else."

She rubbed wearily at her face with one hand. This whole situation was much too complicated for amateur investigators adrift in a foreign land. Still, thinking that wasn't going to make the problem go away on its own. Better stay focused. "I think there's something to gain from observation, too," she said, nodding at Nyiim, though her words addressed the gathered travelers. "Perhaps we could stay put and keep an eye out for now, then split up to search once we know who we need to find." A shrug. "Split up or observe, I'll go along with whatever we decide as a group."

He was right of course. They really should investigate the body some more. And quite frankly, she really didn't want to be alone with any if these people and would much rather stay all together. Kel found it odd that the two shifters of the group were the ones in a disagreement but she just attributed that to both if their strong personalities. "I agree as well, we should see if there is anything to be learned from the body. We should also ask around some more to see if anybody knows her so we can contact her kin to let them know. And unfortunately, before too long, after we've all agreed that nothing more could be learned from the body, we really should give her a funeral..." Already knowing the pains of death, she sighed as thoughts returned to her mother. This woman too deserved to have her family at her burial, and Kel wished there was a way to identify her so they could find her family. She hoped the others would agree so the body wouldn't have to wait too long and begin decomposing. The children didn't really need to see that.

Nyiim turned to Kalina, not knowing her but at least knowing that she was marginally reasonable. She could be the killer, but there was time for that.

"I'll stay with the children? I don't imagine that we should expose them any more to a corpse. If, perhaps, you would be willing to give a full report?" He turned then between everyone else. He was the only person he trusted to be alone with two younglings right now.

"All of you. It might be a good judge of character, no? See who sees what. I agree that there should be a funeral, but there should be safety first... and justice." If he had been murdered, he would certainly have wanted to see his killer caught before they stuck his flesh in the ground.

Did he recognize her?
"She was listening to stories with a bunch of us around the fire, I think. It was late though. I dunno..." He yawned again, "They made me go to bed..."
He was a bit confused. What was all this talk about splitting up? Why?
He looked up at Nyiim. He seemed to have lots of answers.
"Why would we split up? It's easier to look as a group!"

When Nyiim offered to be with the children she smiled and moved closer to him, he seemed like a nice guy. And no one was saying that he was the killer right! That was good! Well the other little kid had said it for a second, but he looked stupid and she wasn't going to believe anything he said.

She was so thankful that he didn't make them go see it. She didn't want to see the dead body again!! It was scary! "Thank you.... What's your name?" she asked curiously to Nyiim. It was good to know the name of the guy protecting you!

She started eying everyone. Who could it be? She looked at the two shifters, maybe it was them? She had heard of bad experiences with her sisters and shifters... Although they seemed like nice people, shifters could be shifty she heard.

Rayolun sighed and shook his head. How was what he said accusing anyone? Just like a villager to jump to conclusions and mis understand him.... All he wanted was to get the loud one to ask the whole group not focus on the kids.. how could such young ones even be able to murder an adult? Didn't make sense.. plus kids usually got sleepy first and he didn't think this girl had been murdered early in the night... that scream had woken them all up. And a child would be the last to the scene so why ask them? Silliness. Villagers were really silly....

"I agree, the body should be examined, then buried. Though not by her alone. Someone who hasn't been too quick to accuse others... that should keep the loud one from making too many mistakes..." He said in his quiet voice as he looked about; the only ones he'd even remotely trust here were the kids, who he wasn't going to ask that they be inflicted with the scene again, the one who'd stood up to the loud one and volunteered to look after the kids, and the quiet one.
He pointed to Shirin. "You should go with her, I think I can trust you too keep her from being too accusative and give a good report. As for names, I think it's a good thing we all introduce ourselves... I'm Rayolun."

Kelina resisted the urge to roll her eyes, from a very early age she had been accustomed to death and like it or not the little younglings would have to get used to it sometime too, they all did. And even though she was somewhat used to it, didn't mean that when she looked at the body she still didn't have the urge to vomit, because she did. Kel had never really had problems with the shifters back home, she never really had problems with anybody. But everyone's emotions were high and most of the tension could be attributed to the body in front of them. "Kelina." She said simply as she tried to focus on the task ahead.

Motioning to the other woman who had not introduced herself yet, she took a few steps closer to the dead woman on the ground. Habitually, she grasped her necklace that had once been her mother's asking for strength, patience, and the courage to do the task ahead of her. Letting go of the smooth circle, she observed the body. For as much blood as there was, she didn't see many wounds. Gently touching the body, she willed her stomach to keep down last night's meal. She turned back to the group then, "Would you all like me to report what I see out loud, or just point it out to this other woman so she can see it too and we can discuss it so the children don't have to hear?" She asked the group. They were concerned with the children seeing the body again they definitely didn't need to hear the details of her wounds.

"Nyiim," the Leaf boy nodded, glad to at least see some modicum of reason in their ragtag group. Then, of course, came the question of whether details of the body should be called out or spoken of in quiet. The children had already seen the corpse, presumably, but it would be best to keep them from any further reminders, wouldn't it?

He turned to the younglings.

"Exactly. Hey, why don't you guys cover your ears and sing a song for our group, hm? You probably don't want to hear about sad things, right?"

Whether they did or did not was up to them. He was at least granting a reprieve to whatever child didn't want to hear it.

"You can shout aloud. We'll have Wind accept or deny." For a lack of any better nickname...

Kelina took a deep breath again before turning to the body. "There appears to be slight bruising around the knees and some scrapes as well as some shallow cuts on the shins. More shallow cuts are on her abdomen as well as more bruising. The elbows are red with scrapes and there are dark bruises on both arms in the same spot on each arm. There didn't seem to be any source of the blood until she got to the head. Gently, she placed her hands on either side of the woman's head before lifting. "She appears to have severe head trauma which seems to be the source of the blood." Kel set the head down gently and closed the woman's eyes as was proper. Taking a deep breath again, she held it before exhaling, calming herself. She made sure to gesture everywhere she was talking about to make sure everyone that was watching saw. She didn't think she missed anything. "Did I get everything, wind?" She asked, using the other guys nickname for her since they didn't know her name. Standing now, she knew she had blood from the woman's headon her. "Can I be accompanied anywhere where I may wash my hands please." Kel asked, her voice soft and sad and quite frankly a little squeemish.

"I'm Nuawahn!"
Nuawahn didn't mind sad things and sad stories. But the adults wanted them not to be there, and he wanted to keep the adults happy. Happy adults=safety.
"Hey!" he tugged at Ilyra's hand, "Wanna have a singing match? I bet you can sing really loud"
He looked back at the adults and the body for a moment, and his smile wavered. Something felt off. Something felt wrong.
But he was determined not to let that matter. "c'mon!"

I have to vote so Rayolun? Don't wanna vote though and ICly he isnt voting

"I'm Ilyra." she said to him with a smile. Nyiim. That seemed like a good name. When he told them to have a singing match she didn't want to, she could handle herself, but then the other youngling seemed to think it was a good idea. He seemed stupid, but she would do as he asked. Just so people didn't worry about them. And so she started to sing as loud as possible.

The as time went on it was clear that the majority thought that it was Rayolun who was the killer and he was hanged for his crimes. However they couldn't be sure it was him, so no one was allowed to leave that night. Hopefully together they had made the right choice and no one else would have to die.

To Hang:
3 votes Rayolun
1 vote Kelina
2 votes Nuawahn

For Wise:
4 Nyiim
1 Shirin
1 Kelina

This means that Rayolun was killed. You may make one more post per character having them ending the day. They can worry about if they killed the right person, they can think about everything happening, whatever you'd like. But some how they fall asleep. The next round will start tomorrow at 10am EST.

Nyiim could not have been more grateful for the sudden song. It distracted the children and brought some kind of levity to an otherwise dire situation. He motioned for Kelina to come to him and turned to the younglings.

"Good job! I think you were both so good, I can't tel who was best... perhaps you've both won! Let's go with Kelina and wash her hands off."

If you wanted something done right and children not-murdered, best to keep them at your side, right? He turned to the Shifter then and nodded to the north.

"There's a small stream up ahead. C'mon, kids..."

He began to formulate his opinion on the murder. Clearly there had been a struggle, and it had been someone strong enough to cause head trauma. He didn't like the sound of this. So was it likely a man, or a particularly large Alkidike? Some of his compatriots had stirred a little suspicion in him, but he couldn't be sure who he really suspected. Everyone seemed so normal...
