Was...was Tuck blushing? Heidi blinked, lifting her head and moving up to get a better look. "..What's on your mind, Tuckella?" Heidi demanded in her best 'Heidward' voice. Why was he blushing? That was her thing.
"Dooo you want the lesson to be over?" She asked more innocently, kissing one corner of Tuck's mouth and then the other. "I guess I could go get those cards if you'd rather play Go Fish." She shrugged. She was open for suggestions.

"We should.. probably focus on somethin' else for a while. Herryk's ... well. He really wants to know what Go Fish is."
<Herryk never said this. Herryk wants Theodore to touc-->
"He won't shut up about it, actually. Makes it hard to focus."

Heidi didn't believe Tuck.
She really didn't.
But she would pretend.
"Okay~. I'll go find my cards." Heidi rolled off Tuck and stood, digging around in her desk for the card pack. She did eventually find the box and skipped back to Tuck, sitting down on the floor across from him and taking the cards out. She hummed, watching Tuck while she shuffled the cards. "...You're blushing, you know."
Delicate, thy name is Heidi Potter.

Tuck narrowed his eyes at her.
"Ain't blushin'. Just. Warm in here is all."
He cleared his throat loudly.
"An' even if I was blushin' - which I ain't, okay - it ain't a big deal."

Warm? Not really. Heidi suddenly grinned. "Do I have to get my ice bucket?" Was this her doing again?
"I guess not~." She finished shuffling, quickly divvying out the cards and placing the stack between them. Heidi grinned up at him and reached out to playfully pinch one of Tuck's cheeks. "But it's cute." Ha! She finally got to say something about him was cute!

Tuck held up his cards without really looking at them.
<...this is even more boring than the kissing, Theodore.>
He cleared his throat.
<Herryk thinks that Heidi likes Theodore.>
Tuck shuffled his cards around.
<Herryk thinks that Theodore could convince Heidi to do more than kissing.>
"No."
<Yes.>
Tuck cleared his throat again.
"Ain't cute."

"Uh, yeah, it is," Heidi argued playfully, sorting out her own cards.
"Is Herryk still being noisy? You seem distracted." She tapped a card against her lips. "Matilda started reciting poetry, she called you Tuckello. Weird Banshee.." Heidi shrugged. "Age before beauty, sir. You first."

"Herryk is being a d**k, an' I don't really think you wanna know what's goin' on up here so I'ma just ask you one question."
He squinted at Heidi.
"You got any sixes?"

"Nope." It was an answer to pretty much everything. If Tuck insisted she didn't want to know, then she didn't want to know. She also had no sixes. "Gooo fish~. Nines?"
Heidi moved to lay on her stomach, kicking her legs in the air behind her. "So how come you joined the army? Didn't you say you had a scholarship for school?" Why give that up? Not that she was judging, she was genuinely curious. Everyone had a different reason for doing that kind of thing.

Tuck picked up a card before tossing Heidi the one nine that he had.
"I joined the Army because I was seein' shadows an' I didn't want my parents to have to deal with it. Grades were slippin' hard. Ended up losin' the scholarship because I didn't keep my grades up."
Tuck glanced up at Heidi. Thankfully Herryk had stopped being a shithead and it was much quieter up in his headspace.
"Fives?"

Heidi frowned. That was definitely a different reason. "Aw, man. I'm sorry to hear that. Scholarships are hard to get." Heidi took the nine and set it and her own nine to the side. "My grades slipped too when the shadows started getting pretty bad for me, right before I came here. Everyone thought I was just trying to get my dad to pay more attention to me. Y'know? Like, oh no sweet little Heidi is growing up and rebelling to get noticed ahhh.." Not that he had asked, but they were sharing 'shadow problems'. Heh. That could be a twitter hashtag, #shadowproblems. "Did it help? The army."
She offered up her five with the dramatic flair of an amateur magician.

"It didn't."
Tuck cleared his throat and took the five from her before he set the pair down on the floor.
"That sucks about your dad. We didn't have problems with our parents, really. They just expected certain things from us. Good grades was one of them. It really upset my pops when I joined the Army, but."
Tuck shrugged and waved his cards.
"What you want?"

"My dad was a simple man~." It didn't help? That was a shame.
"Iiii waaaaaaant..." Heidi stacked her cards together and tapped the little pile against her lips, eyeing Tuck thoughtfully. She hadn't meant to ask awkward questions, she had honestly thought his reason would be something more cheerful. It was Tuck, him being sad seemed impossible.
"I waaaant aaaaa...hug." She put her cards down and rolled onto her back, holding her arms out for her requested hug. "And a queen, I guess. But mostly hug me." Do it.

Tuck tossed his cards aside and immediately moved into a better seated position before he hauled Heidi into his lap where he promptly hugged the s**t out of her.
"No queens," Tuck grunted, the words muffled against Heidi, "so go fish."

Heidi gave a squeal of delight as she was pulled off the floor and into Tuck's lap, curling up against him and nuzzling her face against Tuck. She reached for his cards while he was distracted, attempting to take them from his hand. If she did she would match up his cards with her own and toss them aside before just snuggling comfortably against Tuck, one of her hands idly walking up Tuck's arm. "Sorry 'bout the questions~. I was just curious." She tilted her head back to kiss Tuck's jaw. Heidi beamed up at him, tucking her head under Tuck's chin. "I win, by the way." And she totally didn't cheat.
"I like this," Heidi said quietly, not even realizing she'd spoken it out loud.
