"I can summon it back to me whenever," she explained to Nevada in a conspiring whisper. Mark had been part of that mission of the kingdoms, so she had hope he would take an interest in it . . . Apparently he took interests elsewhere.
Stormy stared at the photos, somewhere between stunned and horrified. Those were . . . not runic photoshopped, if there was even such a thing. Her face started to redden, outwardly from embarrassment, inwardly from a surprising amount of anger she hadn't felt in a long while. The Book of Pride disappeared.
But angry or not, Stormy didn't know how to channel that feeling other than to close her hands into fists and inwardly whimpered. This was supposed to be fun, not blackmail . . . Passing Nevada and the others a look, she stepped forward and leaned in to give Mark his desired kiss just to get it over with.

Tuck was not pleased at how this s**t was going down. Part of him wanted to mash his fist into Mark's face, but he didn't want to ******** up whatever the ******** this was.
So he stood just behind Stormy and Nevada, fists clenched and a snarl on his face, almost trembling with the surge of rage that overcame him.
Nevada sighed as she saw the picture of her and Stormy from the showers. First off, Nevada didn't care about her own but Stormy. Not okay.
"Stormy, Don't give the wolf it's kiss." Oh Nevada had called it when she called it. She pulled the girl back and waited for Tuck and Evan, who would probably put a stop to the indecent behavior of Marks.
"Just a moment Stormy, Let the boys persuade with him first."

Nope nope nope not happening nuh uh. Evan discreetly held a hand up to Tuck, indicating that he should stop and not do anything hasty like kill Mark dead with his bare hands. It was totally okay, Evan could fix this.
He started by nudging Tuck aside and wrapping his arms around Stormy's waist, lifting her off of the floor and walking them to the opposite side of the room. He put her down carefully, barely restraining the urge to pat her on the head, before making his way back to the desk.
"I've got a better idea," Evan started, his voice calm and reasonable and all of those things that he wasn't actually feeling at the moment. "How about you let us borrow your little runic thingamajig, and we won't track down that nice lady in the picture--who, I've got to say, does not look like someone I'd want to ******** around with--and tell her you've got nude photos of her and her trainees. And to sweeten the deal, I won't let this guy," he gestured behind him with his thumb at Tuck, "break every goddamn bone in your body. Deal?"

Oh god, oh god, oh god, he was finally going to get a kiss! Mark was almost going to balk the last minute and just let Stormy go for the cheek, because he was pretty much the epitome of all talk and no show-
-When two very angry not Mist ladies apprehended him. The Death assistant sank to his chair, and then a little lower, as if a bit of desk could protect him. "But- but," he spluttered, "you guys get laid all the time! And Do stuff! Sexy stuff! Can't you pity a -"
-Tuck and Evan's expression said no and he sank a little lower.
"Exit's that way." The Runic weapon, an ordinary looking short staff, was tossed Stormy's general direction. "Um bring me the thing okay, pleasedonthurtme, I bruise easily, and like, then my handsome face would be ruined."
A pause.
"Can I still get a kiss? On the cheek?"
The goal was, to never give up. Clearly Tuck and Evan did not realize they were talking to the person who shared surveillance on Deus, and thus by nature, had nude photos of everyone, and then some. Hidden cameras were a source of eye opening drama for the surveillance team, and Mark was no exception. Occasionally a report was filed about Mark's habit's, but the general consensus was pretty much "Yes, we know".

Despite Nevada's efforts, Sherry did catch a glimpse of what was in that file. This was making even less sense the more Mark talked. The Life trainee watched the exchange unfolding before her, trying her best to keep up with it. Photos of the Mist lead? Photos of.... Sherry rolled her eyes. Of course he had photos of everyone on the damn island. She'd...come to accept that ages ago. She didn't know if right now was the time or the place to mention live feeds of shower cams...
But. She more than agreed with Nevada and this Herc? (was that what Stormy called him?) guy that Stormy was not kissing Mark. So, after Stormy had been removed from that situation, Sherry went and gave Stormy a nice pat on the shoulder. "Don't worry about it, and don't worry about him." She nodded at Mark.
Luckily, letting the boys handle it, as Nevada had suggested seemed to have the desired effect.
Though he was still angling for a kiss.
Sherry sighed. "You guys. Don't let Mark get to you. He's got nude shots of everyone on the island. There's probably cameras in the showers." Not probably, she knew there were. The things she'd seen. She just...would have felt bad if the trainees pummeled Mark to death in front of her.
"Come on," Sherry nodded at the others and turned toward the exit.

Being yanked back startled her (Stormy had been trying very hard not to think about what she had been about to do and thus made her less aware of how the others reacted)--and then she squeaked as Evan picked her up easy as a doll and set her at the opposite end. Not a wolf, she thought as Evan gave his threat, staying dutifully still and quiet. Still just a sheepdog. One that's a little too overeager and loud, but . . . Maybe he was just lonely, having only those photos and tech to keep him company.
The photos weren't good for him, however.
"Okay," she mumbled to Sherry in return, not particularly proud that she'd gotten her brothers' hackles raised.
Doing her best to ignore Thane's disappointment that she did not act herself, Stormy fumbled and caught the staff, examining it curiously. She wanted to ask what it did, but . . . frankly she wanted to get out of the room and take a breath. Time to focus on the mission again. But Stormy was a bleeding heart and couldn't let his request go completely so, shooting the eclipse brothers a look that both thanked them and said "save the violence for if we need it", she stepped forward again. Lightly kissing the end of the staff, she reached out and bopped it against Mark's nose.
"Thank you, sir," she said simply, and turned to leave after Sherry. Just . . . mission time now. Get an unknown artifact and get out. That was probably as easy as it got.

Nevada agreed with Evan about 100000000000000% and was glad that Stormy was removed from the situation. Even as Mark angled for just a kiss on the cheek, Nevada sighed on got off the desk. She wasn't going to do it but well...Stormy had it covered it seemed. That was cute, so adorable. So Stormy. She really wanted to hug her friend.
"And that's all you get from her." She gave Mark a very lazy glare, turning to her mist friend and wrapping her arm around the girl's waist. "Off we go Stormy, Let's follow Sherry kay and admire that Sherry has probably suffered from Mark's pictures...?" Because Sherry was leaving so they should leave too.
"So what...are we getting for an artifact?" Mark has STILL NOT TOLD THEM TRULY WHAT THEY WERE DOING.
Sherry was most definitely lingering in the doorway, since she...uh...had no idea where they were going. Or doing.

"In and out," Stormy explained. For once her spacey mind had enough holes in it to fill both the nonsense and the actual information they needed. "That's the mission. We go in, retrieve the artifact, and get out. Mr. Mark said it had something to do with Insanity . . . And I guess this staff will help us with it." Hopefully. Oh God.
"Sherry, um . . . please keep runic bandages handy," Stormy added as they moved to get to the portal, looking a little apologetically at the Life Hunter. She ought to know how their luck ran by now, special runic tech help or not. "And remember your headsets, guys. Mr. Mark said they gave, um . . . live . . . feedback I think? So be careful with them."
With a look of utter bafflement on his face, Tuck followed after the ladies.
He'd be back for you, Mark.
"We know where we're goin', then? An'.. I ain't got a good feelin' about this. Wish we had some better information."

As the trainees made for the portal, they would find their way blocked. Aria leaned against the doorway, her arms crossed and an icy expression on her face. "Mark," she began, "You and I are going to have a little talk. As for the rest of you?" Aria lifted one hand, pointing towards the ground in front of her. "Hold it right there. If you're going to be distracted by a little thing such a blackmail, you're not going to last very long on the island. Wait here."
She pushed off the doorway and moved between them, slamming her hand on Mark's desk and leaning forward towards him. "Let's try this again. Why don't you tell my girls exactly what they need to do on their mission? If you do, I just might convince everyone here to forget about the little stunt you pulled earlier, Mark."
And suddenly, Aria was there. And thank god for that. "Hello Boss." Nevada moved out of Aria's away before looking away. Blackmail from Mark seemed legit and he was a assistant division leader. They had to respect him EVEN when they didn't want to right?
"Oh...Oh I think this is going to get good..." Nevada linked her arms through Stormy and Sherry's and waited to see how her boss rolled.
And yes that's how it should be. TELL THEM WHAT THEY WERE SUPPOSE TO DO MARK!!
"Oh god, I'm having a mental flash back of Aria naked, And yet I still think she is the prettiest Leader on the Island...." Nevada whispered that to Stormy, because STORMY WOULD UNDERSTAND RIGHT?

Oh s**t.
Quick, what would Clarice do?
Sadly, this was not resolving the situation. Mark absolutely shrivelled back under the table until Aria was done, and then some. It was very possible the Mist lead had actually made him pass out (again), though seconds later, something moved, a lump suggesting the slouching figure of Mark.
"For the record," he babbled suddenly half-pleading at the same time, "it wasn't just me, Dwight was like check out this bugged recording device, and when I saw bugged I really mean like bugged bugged and then we were going to use the photos for like you know, research, and the mission guidelines were to head to the lighthouse portal and secure a Distortion artifact, that's been washed up at a local museum, like some hardcore ninja spy business going on there, only not really I already disabled the security and feeds so all they need to do is walk in and stuff and get it and like, make sure it doesn't blow up or something on them which is what the artifact I made is for and then come back with it in one piece while I observe through the headsets to make sure everything is okay and what would Clarice do?"
Mark ended his sentence with a small whimper.

Stormy had absolutely zero comment because she was busy standing up straight and saluting Aria as she passed by. She did, however, nod her agreement to Nevada. While she only knew a few of the division leaders by face, the photo had been rather unapologetic.
Thane reinforced Aria's warning with a rattle of bones that was more than enough to make the impression clear in the trainee's mind. "Yes, ma'am," she chirped dutifully.
In a way, despite the inappropriate pictures, she felt bad for Mark. He really did seem like a puppy, all bark and no bite...But Stormy had to blink as the division assistant rattled off their parameters in the midst of frantic rambling. "That's it?" she asked hopefully, her shoulders relaxing. "I wish you had said so first, sir...What's the staff for, then? Will it help us locate it?"
Because the last time she and Evan had gone to procure something from a museum, it had been filled with more traps than she thought physically possible.
