Kynε

Though Rúna did her best not to show it, Kyne was actually quite... how to put it... fun to be around. He was unpredictable, as much as the next person she guessed, but the way he almost expressed his thoughts to the wizard guard made Rúna grit her teeth together as much as it made her want to laugh in pity of him. He acted fast, she thought, though all of this was not going to let her think of him as aything more than an ally at this rpecise moment. Once in, he was already making word with one of the wizards on the floor. The wizard returned a look without breaking his chant giving the obvious answer. Rúna tried to ignore it, but Magus-bane spoke up already, with a strangely strong tone, balancing onto of a perhaps shaky voice, she couldn't tell the difference just yet. He said "You're help in that department would be futile, my fire-bending friend". Magus-bane was an old man at heart, and spoke like one some times, already using the title 'friend'. Nodding, Rúna showed her respect to the leader of Entei City and Merlin Academy. He returned the nod with a hand over his chest too. All this time Rúna had forgotten that Kee'da could still be around, and no one else had noticed her on a ledge so far.

"You wanted to know what exactly was going on" he asked, Rúna nodded. The old man did not shake as he took some steps forward, the phoenix on his shoulder letting out a small 'caw' sound as it yawned and stretched its wings, keepings its balance as he got closer. "As you obviously know, our realm of peace is under attack by demons. Word has it that this is none other than the mythical Greater Demon known as Lucifial" he grumbled for a moment in thought, "The lord of Betrayal. Deceit, lies and illusion are his best methods according to historical texts at the Syndicate. The Guildeam is doing all it can to defend it's cities, even the City of Crows has lit its beacon to signal its urgent requirement of aide. Armies are marching on the walls of each city, Elites are working where they can and leaders like myself-" he paused, staring at the two of them specifically, "are looking for anyone such as yourselves to help in what ever way possible. You're help in the square will not go unnoticed. Now. If you must know and if your heart can take it, our space station-" he said so, looking up for a moment and gesturing, but then double-taking as he noticed a glimmer of something that was unnatural. He scowled, and lifted a hand before 'popping' his fingers almost from a claw-like position. The window vanished almost instantly, and then he twisted his hand and flicked his fingers back to him like he was gesturing for someone to come to him. The magic worked like a small amount of suction, just enough to take someone off their footing if someone was to be standing and watching.

And professor Magus-bane was pretty damned sure someone or something was there.

Kynε

Kyne was the first of them to reply in Kee'da's defence. He named her a comrade, and then even explained his dislike for the wizard's unwelcoming agression. He even went as far as to remind him of their past encounter, someting of which Rúna was not aware. Kee'da droned her own distaste as she slowly got to her feet, obviously in some pain. If Rúna had to describe the situation, it would be compared to the accused going on trial in court. The old man replied swiftly and confidently, sayin "If you are not my ally then who's ally are you? There's?" he gestured to the demonic threat outside of the city's walls. He then went on to say "Now, if I greeted all spies with a welcoming hand, I think you would find that I would not still be leading this highly advanced city any more at all!"
"Even so" Rúna said, looking between Kee'da and Magus'bane "she isn't a spy and isn't an enemy"
"I would like to believe that" the old wizard replied. Putting a hand on her cocked hip she said "What were you saying" whilst shaking her spare hand as if notionign to something before her, "a few minutes ago. You said-"
"If you must know and are still wanting to aide us, Bloodholme is rallying it's Scarred forces. I even dare say we've detected demonic forces at bay there too." his tone seemed more dire now and less confident. Rúna couldn't help but let her heart sink for a moment... more demons... with the Scarred. That was two big threats now on two different sides of Occulas. "So you're sending an army?"
"Well" he began, giving a suspicious look, then Rúna added "It's what you do isn't it? The Guildeam?"
"Yes. It is my duty and Asmdoius' to defend the eastern border against Bloodholme in these dire times of war. Half the Elites will also be sent to Bloodholme to eradicate the demonic forces and assure that Hell's Gate remains closed."

Rúna shortly followed the path of Kee'da and Kyne to one of the nearby Inns. It was strange seeing an Inn in a city like this, where almost everything was made of glass and metal. Yet, sometimes you would find one of the older buildings in the city, perhaps from when it was first built. They found one of these buildings and Kyne was quick to settle within near the fireplace. It was a small place, but it was cosy sure enough. On the way Rúna noted how the fires had been put out, and the robots were already going about repairs whilst not tending to those affected. She strolled in and saw how Kee'da had also joined Kyne, Rúna passed them a glance to acknowledge them as she went to the front desk. The lady behind was slim and in silvery robes that hugged her physique, long black hair that almost shimmered blue was over one shoulder, "I saw what you three did. Thank you" the lady said, "What has happened is so horrific..."
"You owe us no thanks" Rúna softly replied, putting some coin on the counter. "Do you have a room?" she asked, the lady nodded and passed Rúna a key that had a number on it. It was a slim flat shaft of metal with some lines going down it. Rather different to what she had back home in Neutral City. Beginning to walk away the lady asked "What of your change?". Rúna got to the stares when she took a step without turning back and said "Kee'da and Kyne may have a room if they wish. If not" she took another step, "keep the change". With that she paid her farewell and went to her room. She preferred to have alone time, it was her personality. She enjoyed to have time alone to think and just relax, often, being around too many people all the time just got her frustrated. Today's events especially took a toll. She was tired, bruised, and now she had to go to war... Laying on her bed, staring out the window and looking at the shimmering moon through the force field she then realised what it was exactly she was doing. She was entering war, not something she had expected to be doing any time soon. Turning over so she faced the wall, she pulled the blanket up beneath her arm and closed her eyes. Taking a breath, she thought Occulas has always been united. Tomorrow will test that.

The next morning, she awoke and barely had time to use the shower and ignore the hum of the force field coming from outside. The three of them met not far from the academy, and Zeppelins were already docking. Great, dull air ships from Asmodius, tanned balloons holding them high and a mixture of metal and wood making the hulls. A metal skeleton surrounded the balloon. Entei's Zeppelins however were without balloons. They donned sails like any great ship, but these sails were not made of fabric but of a magical aura, and on its back were a spinning propeller. It was a ship entirely made of metal, and it's wheel were replaced with a round screen that was used to summon holographic projections. Two entirely different cities came together today. A few last Zeppelins then began flying in from the north. They were narrow and black, with golden railings and a pure white balloon keeping them afloat. Those were the Elites from Unum, the last city to be alive that is related to the Archon Ruins dotted around the globe. These people had been knighted and given the title of Lady and Lord for their aide in Occulas. Rúna couldn't help but exhale cheaply with crossed arms as she commented to Kee'da and Kyne. "I can't help but get the feeling we're the odd one's out..." she then looked to some other small groups that had volunteered from Entei, she then said "Though I oppose we're not showed up by any of them..."
