Her face reddened, visibly no doubt as the second table gentleman(Riley) scanned her. Awkward, but flattering. "Marie," she answered promptly, glancing toward the other female for a second, "just moved here, just started today." Polite conversation should be of no consquence, even with his date posted up stone-silent at the table.

'That other table is ready to order I bet, or to choke to death.'

Terrible thing to think. The blonde shook her head, eyes moving back to the man before her. "And just what, might I ask, is your name? And perhaps, your order?" Her grin was casual, playful, as was the tone of her voice as she twirled an ink pen(clumsily) between and around her fingers.

"It is!" Elizabeth agreed with an enthusiastic nod of her head. Was that unladylike? Oops. She eagerly awaited the answer to her previous question, and as expected Ezekiel delivered! However, his answer was a bit unsatisfactory. Soup? For a date, really? Well, she supposed the man knew more than she did, so soup it was. "I'm getting soup too," she nodded her head again. Now she'd just have to decide on the kind of soup while her date finished his coughing fit. Hmm, minestrone sounded good, now back to her date! "Are you alright?" she turned her attention back to her sickly date. Hopefully whatever he had wasn't contagious, Elizabeth was too good to get sick!

Riley smiled up at this girl, enjoying the view. Marie. That was a nice name. Ah, she was new. That meant that he could spoil her even more. If her first impression was of him, then it would be easier for him to make an impression on her. People always remembered the first and last things they heard, right? Well, it sounded like a nice thing, anyway. "Well, I'm glad that you are here now. I'm Riley." He nodded before turning his head back down to the menu to attempt to remember what it was that he wanted. Damn libido getting in the way of things. He opened it up and decided to just go with whatever his eyes fell on first. "I'll have your chicken sandwich with a side of fries." He closed the menu and slid it to the edge of the table. "And do hurry back, dollface." He winked playfully before glancing over to the other table and sizing up the competition. Ah, it was some weird looking guy and another decent looking girl. Hmm, maybe he would have to go over there and still the show. It looked like that guy was about to fall over dead at any moment, anyhow.

Ezekiel had finally regained composure and placed his glass back down on the table. Ah, she was getting soup as well. What a coincidence! Perhaps her throat was feeling sore too? Oh no. Oh no. Had he made her sick?! Was it even possible for someone to have contracted his illness so soon? He didn't think that he was this contagious. If he was, he would never have even agreed to come on this date. Surely that wasn't it. Soup was a common thing. Maybe she just liked soup. He nodded his head as she asked if he was alright. "Yes, I'm fine." He continued to nod his head before glancing over at the waitress. "I'm sure she'll be back shortly and we can get our soup."

This one was certainly one after a good impression. How incredibly cute, flattering. It was enough to keep the color in her normally collected face, especially after the dropping of dollface.

"Riley," she echoed, "pleasure, one chicken sandwich and our fries. Be back in two shakes." With a playful yet seemingly innocent wink, she bounced away, she'd other tables that needed visiting.

"Did I hear someone mention soup?" Marie quiped rounding upon the table, "It is a truly wonderful choice, very tasty and should do your cold well." She slid her hands in her apron pockets, shooting a quick, doubtfully sublte, glance back at Riley before her attention returned and she grinned down at Elizabeth & Ezekiel.

"I sure hope so," Elizabeth agreed. "I never even got my drink order," she complained. And then, as if their words had summoned her the waitress had appeared before them once again! Was it Ezekiel's magic? That was definitely a possibility! "I'd like soup too,"she interjected, "the minestrone." There, her order was done and she could go back to conversing with her date. "Oh wait, I forgot my drink order, I'd like lemonade." Okay, now she was done with this sad excuse for a waitress. Really, this place needed more servers, especially on White Day of all times in the year! Okay, now back to her date! "So, what's being a magician like? How'd you learn all your magician tricks and powers?"

((Ehhh, another short post.))

After spending the past several hours unpacking, a certain grumpy museum guide by the name of Kenneth Sawyer lazily began to make his way down the hall. His mission? To satisfy the ever so annoying rumble of his stomach, which had been nagging at him all day. He man walked down the stairs, turned, and entered the restaurant portion of the establishment. This inn better have some damn good food. The man glowered, his joyless eyes staring at room before him.

There were a few sets of people eating, much to his delight. He'd much rather there only be a few people than a large crowd. Lord knows how much he hated noisy places. His eyes zeroed in a small blonde figure (Marie) , no doubt the waitress. Kenneth cleared his throat loudly to get her attention, then waited for her to come and seat him. For her sake, he hoped she was quick about it.

Riley could not wait to watch those two shakes. This little girl did not know what she was getting herself into. Riley almost felt a little bad for her, perhaps as bad as a spider felt while crawling towards the defenseless fly trapped in a web. The wink was a nice touch. She just seemed so perky and innocent, oh how he would enjoy tearing her down. He leaned back in his chair, now awaiting his meal. The fries better be fresh. He'd have to go say a thing or five to whoever was currently watching over the food if it was not up to his standards. Not that he really had much standards. They basically just had to be cooked and that would be fine. He had salt and ketchup on the table if they weren't perfect, so it wasn't like it couldn't be salvaged. He glanced around the room as he waited impatiently for his food to arrive. Some new guy was standing by the door grunting for some service. He must be new since he didn't seem to understand the seat yourself concept. Maybe if he were on the clock he'd go over and explain to the guy the situation, but he wasn't. Though, once he did get back on the clock, he thought it would probably be a good idea to make some sort of a sign to explain it.

Ezekiel nodded his head at the realization that Elizabeth had never gotten a drink. If the circumstance were any different, he would've offered her some of his. However, he did not want to make her sick. He wouldn't wish this type of thing on anyone. He smiled up at Marie once she had arrived back at their table. As he awaited Elizabeth to order, he took another drink of his water. "Yes, I'll have the tomato soup, please." He closed his menu and slid it towards Marie. His attention was then pulled back to his date with a nice question. Ah, yes. That was a good question to ask. Though, he really wished that she would've talked about herself. This was one time that he didn't want to talk about magic. He nodded his head, letting her know that he was paying attention and took another quick drink. If he was going to have to talk, he needed to be sure that his throat wasn't dry. "Being a magician is very thrilling! It combines performance with fun! I get to get up on a stage and do something that I truly love." His eyes had started twinkling as he began to talk. "My father started me on magic tricks. My parents created their own traveling troupe and that was my whole life up until about 3 years ago."

~Raven~

After a quick check-in at the front desk earlier and unpacking in her room, Raven, came down the second floor steps to find the restaurant for her first meal in her new home town. Looking about, she smiled at the new surroundings and just excited to start a new experience and new career as the tailor's assistant. She nodded a simple greeting to the person behind the desk and proceeded to the restaurant entrance.

Raven noticed a blonde fella standing by the entrance, she looked around to see a seating service, but there didn't seem to be one. It was a small town or at least not large enough to have more luxuries such as seating waiters or waitresses.

Not wanting to be rude, Raven put on a friendly smile and stood in the line of site of this blonde fella. "Excuse me. Are you waiting for a seat?", she asked then continued. "If so, I don't think this restaurant has a seating waitress. It looks to me as though its a self-seating place. Which is perfect for a nice quaint place as this." Raven awaited a response from him, keeping a small and polite smile, but not up for a long conversation. She just thought he should know.

Raven grew up in small town, so she was familiar with casual services such as self seating in food places. Plus, wouldn't it be obvious if there was such a service~ a sign of some type?

Ugh. Sunshine days were over. Conor's sour mood had come back before long, but he guessed he should be mature about his guy's life. He didn't know where he had left to, but he guessed it was probably something to do with work and they sort of needed the money if they wanted to continue to support themselves through retirement. Which Conor was, to be honest, considering doing way early. He didn't find himself old, but, ********, he was getting tired of managing the inn, even if every day was full of eyecandy that he couldn't have, a friendship with a younger, hotter a*****e, and a bunch of fun problems to handle like the one going on over in the restaurant half of the inn.

Conor was seated behind his front desk, feet up and arms cradling his head lazily as he prepared to take a nap, when he heard the newest tenant at the inn clamber down the stairs and bother some random guy who was probably getting ready to enjoy a good meal. He didn't know, he wasn't paying attention. All he knew was he was in a bad mood and here was some chick who was trying to irritate him even further by messing with Keith's Alex's restaurant and harassing customers. He made a face and tried to tune it out, but, ********, he was pissed off enough that he couldn't let an opportunity to yell at someone pass him by.

He got to his feet and eyed the dark-haired girl from behind, vaguely remembering her name was some kind of black bird. ...Crow? Ugh, he didn't ******** know. He was just mad she couldn't seem to already know he was angry and was still preoccupied with whatever the hell she was saying. “Hey.” He barked from over his counter at 'Crow', leaning forward on his hands to better shoot her a nasty look, “If you want to be a b***h and bother some ugly ******** during lunch, then you should bother me.” He tried his best to convey with a snarl on how bad of an idea bothering him would be, stretching up to his full height, which was thankfully taller than her.

Pulling the strap of one of her bags back up so it wouldn’t slip off her tiny shoulder, Valerie let out a small yawn. She was so tired from staying up the night before but at least the girl learned some tricks to keep that fact from showing up on her face. The only problem now was trying to communicate with others. She wasn’t the best at putting words into sentences when she was tired. Most of the time it sounded like complete gibberish with some actual words mixed into the mess. She again pulled on the strap to her bag before studying the inn in front of her. Torpedo Inn and Restaurant? Well it looked nicer than most of the places she stayed at before. And if she did decide she’d try to find somewhere else to stay at least she could grab some food while she was here.
Walking up to the door she carefully opened it and stepped inside. It wasn’t too bad and the first thing she saw on her way in was the front desk. And who was this? Valerie gave the attractive blonde (Conor) a small smile before walking up to the desk and placing her bags on the floor next to her. She wasn’t going to keep holding them while she tried to ask him about the rooms here. Even though she thought maybe she should since the man looked a little irritated. It would take less time to get away from him and find someone else to talk to. But the damage was already done and she didn’t want to look weird by putting them down then picking them back up ten seconds later. “Hiya, I was a little curious about the rooms here.” She brushed her bangs out of her eyes while she spoke to get a better look at the man. He was kind of cute and probably way older than her. Maybe married? Why wouldn’t he be? Val stopped herself. She wasn’t here to wonder about someone else or notice how attractive they were. She was here to look around and see if this place was worth staying at.

Sitting beside an empty chair, Conor had one hand on his desk tapping idly as he stared off towards the front door without actually paying attention to what he was seeing. If he had been, he probably wouldn't have jumped as he had when a busty pink-haired girl set her bags down in front of his desk and spoke up. It wasn't like he was actually scared or anything – pffft, Conor being scared – but.. Okay, the pink-hair was a bit unsettling and stirred up unpleasant memories. He scrunched up his nose in distaste, the look only subsiding for a moment as he took in her chest. ...********, this was bad timing. He forced his eyes up to the girl, guessing her age to be somewhere around his son's as he snapped, “Welcome to the Torpedo Inn. Do you want a room or ******** what?” He mentally counted it as a small victory that he managed to avoid using 'upsetting language' or whatever the ******** it was called for the majority of that greeting, but his tone was just as rough and irate as ever.

As he waited for her to respond, he let himself go back to staring at her cleavage unabashedly and missed John reentering the lobby from the door just behind the desk. Which was a good thing, too, since John was a little apprehensive about taking so long to locate the beer his dad had requested him to grab and seeing Conor's attention on something else relaxed the man. But, seeing what had the older man's attention put John back on edge. That was.. really, really rude, he thought, to be staring so openly at a woman's breasts, but he didn't think he could say anything at that moment because that would be almost just as rude to call out someone when they were making a mistake. Plus, it would be inviting his father's sour mood onto him and he didn't want that at all. So, he kept his eyes firmly on the girl's eyes as he set the can of beer down in front of his dad, offering an apologetic smile at her before he sat down in the seat next to Conor.

((Sorry for this post! ;w; also, since Kuudere is on hiatus, I'm just gonna assume it's a new day! ='D ))

xoxoThe girl gave Conor another smile and ignored the fact that his eyes had remained on her chest, “Actually a ******** room wouldn’t be too bad.” She was hoping that the man was just in a bad mood or something and that he wouldn’t give her that look every time she saw him. It might have not been on his face for long but she did see it before it went away. Did she do something wrong?
xoxoShe stopped worrying about it when another man brought the first one a beer and took a seat next to him. Val gave him a small wave before looking back at her bags. Now one of those annoying bags had her purse safely tucked away in it so she wouldn’t have to carry it. Not that it would be too big of a deal; her wallet was in her jacket pocket and would stay there for right now. The jacket on the other hand wasn’t going to stay on her. She felt a little too warm so she decided to take it off. Removing the wallet first and putting it in her back pocket as she did so. Then tucking it between her folded arms she added, “I might also need some help carrying my bags to the room.” She felt a little bad for saying it because she knew that some poor guy would end up helping her and wonder if she just carried baby elephants around with her. Especially since normally she would carry them herself. There were just three of them but with her back already hurting she thought she would prefer some help this time if she could get it.
(Okkie dokkie. And you don't have to apologize. :] )

John winced a little as he heard the woman's response – oh, no, was she mad? He sent a look to the man beside him worriedly, but his dad didn't look as mad as he expected. Conor had simply raised his eyes from her chest and snorted at the girl, “Yeah? Well, ********, here.” He said as he spun around to grab a key from inside a box marked 'RM 202', not bothering to ask which one she wanted. If she was going to use that ******** language in his goddamned inn, then he was going to make sure she paid the top price for it. Not that anything on the island was really that expensive, but it still made him smirk to push the key towards her. Wasn't even going to charge her for the room right away – nah, he'd just double it at the start of the next week and catch her off guard. He was already cheering up just thinking of the petty things he could pull, which threw John off greatly.

Not that he wanted his dad to act like his usual brutish self and lunge at the girl for her attitude. Oh, no, no, NO, he definitely didn't want that! But it was sort of worrisome to see his dad so down. Not that it was noticeable to anyone else, mind, as Conor just came off as someone with a regular amount of undeserving agitation towards others, but John could tell right off the bat and it had him frowning. Still, he would have to find a way to address it later when a newcomer didn't need help with her bags. He jumped up right as Conor popped open the beer, offering without needing any coaxing. “I can help you! I'm John and, uh, this is my dad.” He introduced quickly as he rounded the desk, leaning down to pick up her bags in either hand – wow, heavy. He could handle it, of course! John was used to a lot of heavy lifting around the ranch, but he still was surprised by how much the woman could carry on her own.

xoxoSo it seemed she should have answered the question a bit differently. Valerie bit her lip and carefully picked up the key to her new room. Welp, she had a room now and hopefully John's father wouldn't stay mad at her for long. Valerie didn't like having to deal with people being upset with her. It always meant that some mean joke or remark would follow. "Thanks sir," she mumbled as she turned the key over in her hand. Then turning to John with a happier tone she added,"And thank you handsome. I'm Valerie Singer... Or Valerie Teppins. Singer is just the last name I use for work. They say it sounds much better than Teppins." Why was she giving him both of her last names? Maybe she was just excited about having somewhere to sleep besides her car like last night. Mentally sighing again she made it a goal not to say something that she found a little stupid again for the rest of the day. Or while in front of others. "Anyways...do you want me to at least take one of them so you don't have to carry all of them for me? I know they're super heavy."
